Eldona hardly left the house these days.

It was not because she hadn't wanted to it was merely due to the fact that she was a full-time caregiver for her great aunt.

The woman was of some great social standing at one time but as time went by people of the town soon forgot about her.

She was a lonely old woman She seemed nice enough but unfortunately behind closed doors, she had some very prominent narcissistic qualities that made Eldona's adult life very difficult some days.

They were sometimes eldona would have preferred to be alone because having a conversation with the old woman was very much like talking to a brick wall most days and since she did not get much response, she often remained silent and listened to the old woman ramble on and on. The old woman had no concept of what a normal conversation was supposed to be. Perhaps she was never taught or perhaps she didn't care.

Eldona guessed that would be because she didn't care.

Eldona had done some research and apparently her great aunt was guilty of being a dark empath which was a prominent characteristic of a narcissist not to mention for a psychopath as well.

Pamela as her great aunt was called displayed great emotion for those of ethnic minorities and those of different cultures.

She looked in favor upon those of different beliefs, political views, and even those with unique sexualities.

However, when it came to her own family and those that she was supposed to take care of, she had very little sympathy for them at all.

Although the woman had been mostly responsible for raising Eldona which was one of the main reasons she had stayed to help take care of her great aunt because after all she did owe her something, didn't she?

When she was a child, The woman was rather easy on her. she allowed her to have time to watch as much TV as she wished, there were some light house chores that were given to her which she did diligently and indeed she made a great effort in whatever tasks that was given to her by her aunt.

When she became a teenager more seemed to be expected of her, It became more of a servitude than a service and by the time she was 18 had gotten to the point where she was serving her aunt hand and foot every single day.

It was a challenge to leave the house and to make friends since her Aunt was highly paranoid and extremely judgmental she always challenged Eldona about every step that she took and It got to the point that even her friends were considered to be a threat or an enemy to Eldona's well-being.

It got to be a point where she simply gave up going anywhere except her usual two hour walk that she went on at least once a day yet as far as socializing, she was a very lonely young woman.

However, she noticed on her walks a certain cottage like house with faded pink fringes on the roof.

The paint was peeling and was now ugly and exposed, the black half rotten wood, giving the home a creepy but charming abandoned quality.

The inside of it had green and pink linoleum flooring covering what once was nice oak wood.

There was a old TV with dials and in every room the walls were crammed with shelf after shelf of dolls.

It was an unsettling sight at first to walk into at first but she noticed many of them were very old.

The older were in glass cases display cases and most remained unlocked.

The woman that lived there had short staunch wavy hair that was the color of cotton but her face was young and she a lovely personality and she exuded a almost youthful energy.

The woman within the cottage took a real shine to Eldona and the two shared a strange connection, that could only be described as telepathic.

There were some that regarded the kindly woman as being some sort of Witch but if she was a witch she was awfully nice and Eldona had no judgement against her if she ended up indeed being a witch.

Eldona had a gift, it's something in Stephen King's universe that would be known as the Shining.

It was a bit more than that, it wasn't just seeing things and knowing things other people don't, she also could move things with her mind as well.

Eldona found out that she could also do some very bizarre mind tricks on people.

Although she did her best not to read people's minds as much as possible She also had the ability to place certain images into people's minds as well. Although it riddled her with guilt she found that she could have her aunt forget certain things if she so wished.

There was a time when Eldona had been having a rather heated argument with her aunt and it had gotten rather out of hand.

Eldona's cheeks burned with silent rage.

Then the strangest thing happened Right as her aunt was about to deliver the next verbal blow, her aunt shut her mouth promptly and then froze.

Eldona didn't know how much time it passed, it felt like several hours when in actuality it had only been 5 minutes.

There's no movement in her aunt's eyes no sign of life and she noticed that she wasn't even breathing.

Eldona had certain senses we're heightened she liked to compare it to that of a wolf So even though there was no sign of movement or life, she could hear the steady heartbeat of her aunt's heart.

However, to make matters worse, her aunts seem to have no memory of the argument and smiled at her rather crookedly and awkwardly.

She had a feeling that this was her fault and that she was sorely to blame for the incident so she did a experiment one day when her aunt was being particularly annoying, She ever so softly spoke the word "freeze" and instantly just like before her aunt froze with her mouth shut and maybe it was just her imagination but it seemed that the whole house froze along with it.

She wondered if this effect would last for longer periods of time and she discovered that indeed they did.

So whenever she left the house to visit her friend that lived in the cottage she would place that spell upon her aunt and awesome she would have her forget entire days since she loved spend not only hours with this friend of hers but often she would spend the night as well.

The kindly woman with the youthful face. her name was Amela and amella had similar gifts to her own.

Infact Amela, knew straight away that she had the gift, She could feel it, she could sense it and she could hear the thrum of magic flowing through her veins.

Amela was not only telepathic but she could also see sounds, She saw the waves of people's voices and she could see the energy that people emitted as well as the energy of of other objects.

She saw the energy of plants and animals as well and she taught Eldona how to master this ability.

She taught her a great deal of things. how to control objects with her mind and how to control the minds of others.

She said in Japan this ability was known as Nensha and at one time was regarded a sacred. but over the years the ability was treated as not a gift or a blessing, but a curse and awesome people. with this gift we're excluded from society.

Amela explained to Eldona that many women were put to death because they possessed this ability, somewhere burned others were tortured, boiled or buried alive.

The mouths of these so-called witches were sewn shut before the rich earth was piled high on top of their heads.

Amela spoke of a secret graveyard That was filled of those that were once buried alive by the founders of the town.

Their jaws were broken and their mouths sewn shut, however, what was most harrowing was the fact that all the people that were in this graveyard were all women because it was believed that the men were far superior and were destined for greatness So the young boys that had this gift were often spared yet the girls were either shunned sent away or abandoned somewhere within the woods the side of stream. sometimes they were even thrown down a well.

Now over time some of these women were able to avoid the masses and hordes that hated them so much and it was well known that some of these women were incapable of dying.

Amela said it was a strange sort of immortality but it was something that she had had since she was a girl.

She noticed when she was sewing up a dress for her doll the needle stabbed her finger and even though it's stung, the pain quickly subsided and the blood disappeared and the small tiny wound vanished from her finger.

Although Amela was not a young person by any means. she had never suffered any sort of illness, there was no stiffness in her joints and there wasn't even a sign of arthritis within her bones.

Whatever this gift was It was unique because it consisted of more than one gift and often each person with this gift would have a slight variation or perhaps even a slightly different strength. There were those that were stronger in other areas and each with this gift was as unique as a fingerprint.

Most kept these abilities a secret and the people that had the gift which were mostly of the female persuasion they communicated in secret many of them had formed an alliance.

On rare occasions they would get together, Amela however, was rather gutsy and she would invite such women of such unique abilities to meet at her house every Saturday.

They would disguise it as a sort of cozy mystery book club.

Amela was the head of the organization and she regularly communicated with the other organizations that were in farther regions of the globe and from what Amela described there were people like her everywhere around the world.

There were very few men that were within these organizations, but every once in a while there would be a man who was allowed to attend such meetings and join these secretive organizations.

However, there was one ability that was quite rare amongst these women and that was the ability to see into other worlds and potentially travel to them within a few seconds.

The ability even amongst the welcoming and warm umbrella of these organizations was considered to be more of a curse than a blessing.

" Why is this such a curse rather than a blessing Amela?"

" Oh that's simple, It has only brought about hardship in the past and the ability was only used by one other person and that person met a rather unfortunate end.

She was a sweet innocent young girl at one time but she found that there was a dark side to burning images into the brains of others.

Now this happened about 20 years back, there was a town, a ranching town not too far from here there was a kind old couple that raised horses for hire. They were a yuppie kind of couple but they were nice enough and they own quite a bit of property which included an old lighthouse by the coast.

However, the couple were unable to have children So they ventured onto the city and adopted a beautiful raven haired girl by the name of Zerina.

She was adorable. she was no more than 9 years old and all three of them seemed to get on just swimming but things really started to change when she turned 13.

She took on a darker appearance and they tried to trim her hair but for some reason her hair always seemed to be forever long and always seemed to be in her face for much of the time.

her parents didn't know what to think of it and they tried to ignore it but that just made matters worse.

So of course she looks for ways to escape and she did, She rather by accident stumbled in to one of our meetings, We just saw her drift right out of a mirror on the wall, She was just as confused as we were but we didn't turn her away in fact, we tried to help her and for a time she took well to our teachings.

However, there was a certain rage within her that just wouldn't be controlled, She'd gone to public school. you see and many of the children had left a traumatic imprint on her mind.

There's really nothing getting over child trauma, things like that you carry around with you until well after adulthood.

She held on to that trauma tenaciously. she was under the impression that this built-up rage would fuel her power and for a time that worked but one day a backfired.

They were subtle changes that we saw in her, there were dark circles under eyes. she became more quiet even though she normally liked to engage with a lot of our conversations.

She had a bright mind, so bright. I bet it could fill up the entire sky.

Understand she was a good girl but she had been hurt and that hurt think it ever healed.

Now her parents were as loving as they come, but even they couldn't understand how powerful and how intelligent she really was, I don't think they could handle it so those wounds just opened wider and wider and she just became angrier and angrier as time went on.

It was sad to see how that hurt affected her.

One time she left without so much the word right in the middle of one of our meetings. I excused myself of course And I explain to the other women that I was going to ask her what was the matter.

So I went after her and as I was just about to put my hand to her shoulder what I saw chilled me to the bone.

her eyes were all filmed over like she was blind but I know she could see me but those eyes dead inside there was no life and no emotion whatsoever and those eyes of hers.

That's not the most terrifying part was she shrieked at me, a shriek that can only be described as nightmarish. it was a high pitched banshee like cry when she opened her mouth there was a new set of tiny terrifying teeth and that mouth opened so wide, I thought her jaw was going to fall right off of her face.

Then things took turn for the worse and she went to that graveyard the one I told you about where all those women are buried, She went there and the ground opened wide right before her feet. she went down this secret set of stairs.

I don't know what was down there. whatever was down there, smelled of death, it reeked of dry blood and ground up bones, I could hear a series of tortured cries.

I didn't think I'd ever see her again but I did and since she has used her ability to curse mankind and to this day she is no longer human because she hates humanity with a vengeance.

every once in a while I hear something on the news about some mysterious death. you know something that just doesn't make sense and I know it has to do with her. Sometimes I'll hear of some cursed object being on a crime scene, a video tape, a music box Even something as innocent as a doll and in these cases nothing ever adds up. so the cases are abandoned and they are considered accidents, not actual murders.

I've noticed that the people who have claimed to have seen her but they usually end up dead before the week is over.

She doesn't seem to sit well with witnesses.

call me crazy but I think that she opened up a portal to another world. not just any other world but I think she might have ventured somewhere where no mortal is ever supposed to venture.

Wherever she went she lost all of her humanity, yet I have this theory I don't think she's working alone.

I mean she was no more than 17 when she disappeared from this realm so I think she's either working under someone or somebody is giving her orders and whoever that is well, they must be having a mighty good time coming up with these unique deaths.

One thing I have noticed amongst all these murders is there have been a series of disappearances.

We are talking about people that don't just disappear. they leave notes. they make phone calls. some of these people didn't even have jobs that would have taken them out of town, They just stayed in one place but nonetheless these people just up and vanished.

Every once in a while I hear a message on the radio or on TV and it's usually always the same, It's desperate little whisper and it always confuses me whenever I hear it.

It comes out of nowhere while I'm minding my own business watching the news or I'm just listening idly to the radio. I leave it on for background noise you know.

The voice says "Help me, Help me please I'm in Hell."

" You know that's kind of strange that you would mention that because. well, I think I've heard that too.

Only it's not on the radio on the TV, it usually only ever happens after dark, but when the dark comes I can hear the voices, The whispers that say "Help me hell maiden free me, I'm stuck in this hell and I can't get out."

Amela wanted to say something but she was too worried thinking about what that meant and she's decided that it would be best not to say anything at all. at least not until she figured it out why she too was getting similar messages sent to her.
