[Author-san: Something old and forgotten. Was collecting dust, so I thought, why not finish it since it's already half complete. Don't know why I wrote this in the first place, but I was inspired. Quickly went true, so probably a lot of mistakes]
"GO GO GO! He couldn't have gone far!!"
"I want every nook and cranny of this place searched. I don't care if we have to burn the entire Forrest Down. FIND HIM!"The demon slayers scattered across the landscape, searching for their target. Right now, it did not matter if one was Mizunoto or Kinoe rank. Each one spread out for their search.
As they passed true the forest, each one had an eery feeling about the situation.
The demon lurking within these woods was a true monster. Several Hashiras have been notified and will most likely arrive within the hour, but... would they make it in time.
"Kanao? Something wrong?" The angelic voice of Shinobu reached out to the young girl as a form of comfort.
Kanao only shook her head to signify she was fine, but Shinobu could see something was wrong. She couldn't exactly blame her as this current mission was a bit different from the rest.
The two sisters were running down the hill at blitzing speed, soon coming to a sharp halt as someone returned back with a socked look plastered on their face.
"M-mis.. Mis Shinobu. We found something. It appears their is a ruined village. Just down the river, we saw traces of blood and burnt debri."
"Show us the way." Without missing a beat they all go forth.
Each one with a serious expression as they new what they were walking into. The ruined village was a disaster site. It was a small village with only a few houses, most of them burned down from some fire that broke out.
There was blood almost everywhere as if someone threw and dragged the bodies true the entire village. It was a horrific scene, only weird thing was that there were no bodies.
So much blood yet not one corpse to be found.
"This is terrible." Shinobu's voice was quite but carried her anger.
She could see that this village was completely decimated and not a single soul survived. Or thats what she thought as a sudden voice called out from within the forest.
"Hey! There's someone HERE!" The voice came from a demon slayer making them soon take off into another direction.
Shinobu instead left Kanao within the village, leaving her to search the surroundings while she handled the questioning for their latest guest.
The new stranger was not far from the village as they were situated within a cave just on the other side of the river. As she enter, she could see the fear within the other demon slayers.
She saw that one of them was conversing with the stranger. This stranger appearing female, a very young girl roughly the same age as her three assistant girls back at the mansion.
From this little girl's state, she could tell she was traumatized and fearful of them. She also had several wounds on her body. It more appeared as if she crawled with this cave to escape from the monster that destroyed her village.
Shinobu made sure to appear as harmless and welcoming as possible. She knew that trauma like this doesn't heal easy.
"Hello there little Missy." Just as she said it, the little girl flinch from her words.
She tried to shelter here head and face from her. Possibly thinking Shinobu might also be one of them.
"Don't worry, I'm only here to help. I heard there was a big bad monster in this Forrest, so me and my friends came to get rid of that nasty little creature." she said, trying to play a bit with her words as to not pressure the child to much.
She needs her to relax and feel safe. Bringing up the monster so early might cause her discomfort but Shinobu was working against time. Sunrise was soon and they needed to find it now.
"M-mo... m-monster..." The child meekly said. She seemed to perk up from Shinobu's words.
"Yes, yes. That big bad monster. Do you perhaps know where it is, miss...?"
"Uhm...Tesha. My names Tesha." the child's speech became more clear as it seemed to come out of her shell.
"Tesha. What a beautiful name. Tesha, dont you wanna get back at this bad monster for what he did?"
The child looked fearful, but she seemed to still held on as she only nodded at Shinobu's question.
"Well, I'm gonna need to know more about it. Like... how did it look? Where it might be? Maybe something about its eyes?"... "!?"
The last question almost made the little girl jump out of her skin. This confirmed Shinobu's thoughts as it seemed one of the twelve Kuzuki truly was here.
"What about his eyes do you remember?"
The girl was only quite for a moment as she seemed to think back at the horrors that unfolded. Shinobu knew this hard for her but she needed to find out more of this demon before more people died.
"I-... Uhm.." The girl first paused as she tried to speak the words. "I only... saw one of its eyes."
"Oh. What did it look like. Did it have maybe a certain writing on it or?" Shinobu's words are cut off as the girl reaches down towards the sand.
Her finger draws a faint outline of a makeshift eye. Within it was one singular horizontal slit. The line looked similar to a frog or goats eye, but the way it was drawn gave a depressing aura around out.
When Shinobu thought of it, one eye having a horizontal line, such as this could mean one thing. It was a bit preposterous, but the twelve Kuzuki always had a Kanji representing their rank. But a horizontal line only means... one.
The number 1 can be represented by a line drawn horizontally, and for it to be on this demons eye probably means it's rank one. With the destruction they have seen from the edge of the Forrest, it is definitely an upper moon.
Shinobu called forth the other demon slayers as she knew this information would be vital to their master.
"Notify the master that... it might really be here. We need more Hashiras for this before we confront it." Shinobu spoke out to the others as they could also put two and two together.
"Now, little Missy..." Shinobu edged closer to the girl, in a soft pleasuring voice she asked. "You might not know where this monster might be staying, hm?"

"Ooh fuck... please don't tell me I slept for a century, cuz that's how I'm feeling right now." The rough foggy voice reverberated true the small house.
The rundown shack was dark and silent. A small opening within the roof shined moonlight onto the beings' form. Only illuminating half of its face, the creature showed to have goat like furr colored a golden brown.
Ulbert was lounging against the wall as it laid on the floor, its eyes darting around the room. Within his clawed grasp was a very sizeable wine bottle.
The creature seemed to gain its senses as it slowly made its way up. Half wobbling to his feet, it showed to have the clothes of a gentleman in the late 1960. A dark grey suit, a red blood rose on its chest, and a small tophat apon its head.
The creature almost hit its curved horns against the ceiling by how tall it was.
"Agh... Next time, cast a few resistances before chugging divine tier alcohol. Real smart, me." Ulbert reprimanded itself.
From its constant wobbling, it summoned a silver gold tipped Cain to regain its balance. The creature kept on moving towards the exit until it suddenly halted.
Frantically searching its possession, it looked within its pockets for something.
"Where the hell is it."
From its fast search, it stops its clawed hand by its peculiar hat. Shortly gaining a grin, it reaches toward the noticeable blue flower edged within it.
He brings it down as he widely smiles at it.
"Oh, almost thought I lost you. Better put you somewhere a bit more safe first. It's almost morning, so we gotta move quic-" Cling*A sound breaks him away from his thoughts as his grin freezes still.
He slowly moved toward the door. He could tell their was someone outside, possibly scouting the area around the shack.
"Ooh... looky looky here, a little lamb stumbled within my humble abode. Wonder who this visitor might be?"
Ulbert stepped before the door as he first loomed over the small figure behind it. The air within the room was deadly as it took on a red tint from his aura. His claws were itching for a meal.
He could hear the breath, the blood flow, the heartbeat of the little human in front of him. Just behind the door was... a little girl?
Not the person he expected to see but, where were the armies that were chasing him. The Samurai warriors that swore to cut him limb from limb.
Instead of a proud warrior standing before him, when he opened the door all he saw was a small girl. Black hair, small frame, butterfly pendant holding up her hair. And a katana at her side.
The image was a bit peculiar but, was he complaining? No. He just got out of a giant nap and he probably needed to get cover before the sunrise.
Only though practically one second has passed, it felt a bit of an eternity as he could see the young girl must have been frightened. She looked almost traumatized by his appearance, which all it did was hurt his feelings.
Not seeing a way out of this little predicament, he might as well just get this over with. It's obvious this girl came to take his head but he wasn't in the mood now for entertaining this kid.
Before she could react, he lifted one of his clawed hands, the claws long and sharp similar to a blade. The girl obvious looked in a state of paralysis so might as well put her out of her misery.
"Time to die little girl."
He lazily threw down his hand towards her head, half yawning as he did it, expecting just to decapitate her in one swift move. Instead of seeing her head depart from her body, it Instead dropped a few inches as the strike missed.
Ulbert was first a bit surprised from this as he thought she might have gained back her senses to dodge, until he saw that it wasn't her.
An unknown comrade of her seemed to save her from her doom. The man grabbed the girl and duck out of the way before his claw could hit.
There wasn't much force behind the strike but even so it was capable of cutting right true the ground behind them. The force left a few claw marks on the trees away from them.
The new guest seemed a bit surprised but shortly returned to his calm state as Ulbert lowered his hands. Leaving the claws to hang by his side, they receded within his grasp.
The new man was a bit more fit for the warrior type, unlike the girl. He had long black hair, dark blue eyes, a red and hexagon pattern haori. The two seemed to have the same black uniform, probably part of the same organization.
The new guy looked more like a typical charm boy with a dash of emo. He gave the air of the quiet types.
"You're a fast one." Commented Ulbert, his voice deep and sinister.
The night was dark, only giving away his glowing eyes reflecting the moonlight. His dark furr blended into the shadows of the Forrest.
The emo guy didn't reply to his words. The only thing he could decipher from the man's face was a hint of worry. Probably concerning over the little girl behind him, who appears to regain her senses.
Ulbert could tell he was way above the girl in strength as she seemed to be affected by his passive presence while the new guy only saw it as more of a discomfort.
The emo guy finally speaks to the girl, not taking an eye off from Ulbert.
"You shouldn't charge ahead like that, Shinobu is worried about you, Kanao. I suggest you alert the others of-" The guy is cut off from her as she disagreed.
"I-I can... fight with. I can help you. This-" She somewhat said her words while stuttering.
Ulbert didn't know if it was because of fear or just her social skills.
"Dang it, I don't have time for this. Need to hit the jets before that one-eyed chick finds me again. Still haven't found out how she gets true my barriers. This world's confusing as always. Who was the God that decided to give low-level characters, high-level skills. Bunch of shitty-Devs." Ulbert thought, ignoring the bickering between the two opponents in front of him.
In his musing, he thought back to how this all began...
[Before All this]
"HUH!?" Ulbert was alone. In a Forrest. Completely lost and confused. "This wasn't supposed to happen."No shit, the greenery, the smell, the air. It was all too real.
The feeling of... nature. It was captivating as he kept staring at the change in scenery. The hills of Muspelheim were replaced by a green forest, which left him confused but also intrigued. He raised his claw from under the trees shade as he reached toward the sunlight.
"Blue-planet would have loved this, so.." *Shiii!* The sound of burning flesh was heard as he saw what happened to his claw. Instantly, with blitzing speed, he pulled back, looking at his steaming hand. The prominent burnt marks were a bit unnerving as it was way more detailed than before.
[!World Item Detected!]
The mental message shocked him as he went into full battle mode. Completely forgetting the odd feeling in his hand, he casted several invisibility and protection spells.
The notification of a world item being used was frightening. He may have a world class to shield him from most effects of such nature, but he wasn't completely immune to them.
[Weapon Origin]
Invoking the spell used to identify a spell or weapon that was used on the caster. It didn't give too much information on the item used, but finding the location of his attacker was more of an importance.
[...Searching...[Found]
"Huh?... This must be a joke?" He was... flabbergasted. The item in question was right before his eyes. Their was no attacker, merely just an active item.
"The sun... is the world item?" This was crap.
He knows world items are broken and all, but... how does he combat the sun. And why was it attacking him. Was it perhaps similar to the world item, Ahura Mazda.
Ahura Mazda, It has a potent effect on anything with a negative karma value, and its area of effect could span an entire world, or in the games terms, an entire server.
From the information he received within his mind concerning this item, if it can be called that, it only targeted creatures of the dark realm. Abominations. In short, all heteromorphs.
"Really a troublesome thing to handle. Wonder what the damage rate is." He joked but soon started to wonder what it may really be.
He already confirmed this thing wasn't able to one-shot him, but this was a world item they were talking about.
"Okay, just a little peak, only have to reach out a hand. What's the worst that could happen?"
.
.
.
"And how did you hurt your hand, sir?"
The worst did happen.
"Uhm... does it matter?" Ulbert meekly said to the man. Not wanting to explain how his stupidity left him with a stomp on his wrist.
Currently covered under an illusion to appear human, he was stationed within a small village. The villagers' doctor was a bit... special. The man was drunk and sober at the same time, speaking fluently yet still not making any sense.
Ulbert needed information on his current predicament, which is why he'd rather wait for the sun to set within the village than the Forrest.
Using his newly gained amputation as a reason to get in the village, he sneaked in under the cover of all the injured peasants. He wondered why there were so many injured people in the first place."Hey Doc, know where all these people came from? A lot of injured, don't you think."
"Huh?..." The doctor was puzzled by Ulberts question as he looked at him if he was mad. "Boy, have you been living under a rock, or did you hit your head on one?"
The man started to feel Ulbert's head as if he really was crazy.
"Actually, I did hit my head." Ulbert lied, feeling a sense of pleasure from it.
He couldn't explain it but all the injured he saw as he entered the village made him feel joy from their suffering. It's probably just normal.
"You poor young ones. The war really has been too much on yah."
"War?"
"Well, off course, War. Haven't you seen the Samurai running up and down?"
This was probably... not good.
[Time-Skip]
"Yo Doc, still drinking?" asked Ulbert as he saw the Oldman was back at it again.
Right behind the counter was the Doc drinking another bottle right after finishing the last.
"Off course I'm still drinking! I'm bored, kid." shouted the man while sipping from his drinking. His spit almost reaching Ulbert's uniform.
"We got a customer, so get off your ass. I'm pretty sure it's some rich blokes."
The Oldman only snarled between his drink as he was tired of all these new people coming to his shop for a 'miracle treatment'. After Ulberts stunt a while back, everyone thinks he can cure any decease or grow back any limp.
"Welcome to 'Blue Lilly', now what the fuck do you want?" spoke the Oldman, not hiding his displeasure.
He stood over the desk as he looked towards the door. A man with elegant clothes and a hot woman with a fine set of- "Hello, Sir."
Seems Ulbert is still the great ass licker when money is involved, but anything else and his the devil incarnate
The man only nodded to Ulbert's greeting, walking directly towards the Doc. He seemed eager but also discomfort.
"Afternoon. You must be the one they call, The Doc. Is that right?" the gentleman spoke in a refined tone, but his eyes were showing his discomfort being within the commoner area.
"Yes, I'm the Doc, so state your business or get lost." said Doc, not wasting time for pleasantries.
"Uhm, well, we are here for your services, concerning a particular... healing touch."
"Hmmm..." True the grunt of the Oldman, the only thing he did was look towards his only employee, Ulbert.
"Fine. I'll send my assistant to handle this... healing. His been working on a new... think he called it race chung something. Which family house will he have to visit?"
"Oh yes. He can stop by the house of Ubuyashiki. We will be waiting."
"Dang, I miss the old man. Guess he must have died by now considering how much he drinks per day. Never got to see the fruits of my labor." Ulbert thought sadly. He may not have cared all that much of the humans he has interacted with, but the old man reminded him of one of his guildmates. The oldest guy of the bunch. Wait, he was getting sidetracked.
He needed to focus on the current happenings.
"How long will they argue for? That little girl really is stubborn."
The man and girl in front of him still seemed to have their disagreements. The man looked to care for the little girls safety, but she wasn't listening at all
"This chit-chat has been fun and all but, It's getting late. Why don't we end thi-" Before he could move, he felt a pierce within his defenses.
"Tch, damn women doesn't know when to give up." Ulbert, for all his strengths, wasn't very good at the hiding part of missions. Usually his more of the guns blazing type. He knows a few concealments, but none strong enough to be considered good.
He had ways to be completely undetectable, but that was true the use of items. He currently had no way to restore his supply, so using them was a no-go. He still needed to figure out what this woman's power actually is.
His used dimensional lock, Time Bind, and more, but he can't figure out what he skill actually is, There was also the choice of killing her, but... she was kind of a specialty of this world.
He can't store her away as she seems to have an immunity to time base effects as long as she's within her domain and a few more tricks up her sleeve. She was weak, yet troublesome.
Completely unbalanced build.
"Here she comes." From his thoughts, appears a Japanese style door beneath his feet as he is sent into an endless fall don't a hallway.
The two warriors infeont of him seemed shocked but quickly composed themselves as they tried to go after him but failing. The only thing Ulbert could make out before the doors shutted closed was a short woman appearing on the side, coming down from the trees similar to a butterfly.
"This is starting to get old." Ulbert complained as he noticed he was transported within an endless loop. Continuously falling within the same space.
He could just teleport out, but if yddrassil hadn't taught him anything, it was to never leave a fight empty-handed. The woman was completely unknown to him, as she could break true his magic barriers with ease.
Nothing in this world's so far could pull of such a feat. He doesn't know who high her skills can go, but that wasn't the issue. He wanted to know how she got this strong.
He discovered that their were at least a few supernatural creatures within this world, for example, being ghosts of the dead. He didn't know if their was an afterlife, but he didn't care.
All he cared about was who was on the top of the food chain. From his past life, it was made clear that the ones at the top decide who is good and bad. Was is right and wrong.
He wanted to be the one at the top, signifying what true power is.
"Huh? Do I sense another presence this time? Seems she really does have friends."
Ulbert was getting a bit over joyish. This would be his first time speaking with another group of heteromorphs. After his recent awakening, he saw that his resistance against the sun had improved but was still far from immune. To know that their are heteromorphs who were able to survive all this time.
The only ones he ever encountered were the test subjects of his summons. The former humans that were turned into semi-monsters.
Tund
He heard the opening of a new door. A fairly small opening in the side, almost as a teaser for a way out. It was obvious that they wanted him to head towards them, but he didn't mind walking into a trap."I dont remember creating a demon such as you." This voice, this presence, this... feeling.
Whoever spoke was someone whom he felt a sort of familiarity with. There were two presence within the room, the woman who has been giving him hell for the past two or three days, and this... man? woman?
He couldn't tell as the person seemed like a man, oddly reminded him of a certain old school singer, but his senses were telling him something else. He could have sworn he saw this person before.
"Wait...little Ubuyashiki?"
[Author-san: Felt so... uhg by how I wrote this. Jus wanted to get it out there since I felt so bad letting this rot away. Maybe someone else would find it entertaining. Who knows. Leave it up to your imagination to figure out Ulberts crazy mind.]
