The dim lighted halls were graced by the pure silence which baptizes it in a hallowed atmosphere many would deem holy yet, few could notice or even perceive the amount of peace that the insides of such halls have. Few appreciate the art of reading books, even less learning from the past. Yet however in the study of the past there is the fact that it brings an insight to the actual situations of the future. He frowned as he continued to read about the History of the Jedi Code and its different evolutions through the years and its final reiteration after the infamous Russan Reformation. The revered Grandmaster Fae Coven was a Jedi Knight torn by the Light and Darkness War following the New Sith Wars; the person that led the Jedi Order from a militaristic to once again its endeavors for peace. Leading to the Jedi once more being Peacekeepers and not soldiers anymore. Tomorrow the initiate Trials will begin, all younglings of certain ages had the chance, his best-friend Kaleb Dume would also be on the test, in fact now he was already lying asleep on the chair by his side.
Kaleb was proficient with the lightsaber; he had a good will; but what he made for his physical prowess he came undone whenever he was asked to recite to perfect memory the Jedi Code. The initiate trials were a section of three tests each one as difficult as the other. The first test was about the Jedi Code in its entirety; one is asked to first recite the Jedi Code to memory, he made sure to learn the code to a fault and also know its history; following the Dawn of the First Force Sensitives in the Tho Yor ships of the Je'daii order of Thyton thousands of years ago. The cult of Ashla, Bogan and the Reverence to the Bendu; each of them godly aspects of the force itself. Light, Dark and Balance. The Force Wars, the names of the main dividers of the Je'daii into the modern Jedi Order, The Fall of the Je'daii order on Planet Mortis and the Mortis Gods being the post-Force-War representations of Ashla the daughter, Bogan the Son, and Bendu the Father.
The topic was fascinating, he could pass up hours studying texts and reciting to his senior best-friend and almost brother Kaleb about the Force wars and Ancient Jedi History. Regardless the second test was about self-disciplined either on Meditation or Staged Light-Saber Combat with a hood. And the Third Trial was a simple connection with the force which he of course never doubted he had, regardless of if at times for him it was hard to truly not pair his natural powers with that of the Force.
"You Should be on your dorms."
Kaleb cried aloud as he woke, almost dropping all his piled books and texts, as the Jedi Archivist, Jocasta Nu rose an eyebrow.
"Master Jocasta." He was not used to speaking, but he always parched his throat to not have his voice sound hoarse, so used to communicating with others through the mind. Kaleb followed through the notion of bowing just as he did.
"You should be at your clan's dorms young ones, not in the library at this hour. Who was with you when you came?" The Archivist asked them both as Kaleb widened his eyes and turned at him. He could only glance to the side and lightly frown, even with his physiognomy his frown could be noticed.
"We have our trials tomorrow Master Jocasta and…well, we wanted to be sure to be able to pass them by learning about the Jedi Code and memorizing it." The archivist rose an eyebrow and went through the books they summoned for that.
"I am sure your basic Jedi Initiate books would've been enough to have learned the code young one. Not such texts here…" She trailed off, watching a few of them. "Much less on Ancient History books." She trailed off afterwards.
"Well…"
Jocasta Nu gazed at both younglings; it was easy to see that the human boy was older than the Draethos boy. She remembered Master Shaak-Ti during one of the Consular Missions she found a force-sensitive child in the Draethos Kingdom. The boy's midichlorian count was off the charts, only a thousand below Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. The boy's name Odan-Urr was taken at a very early age with the trust of the royal family with the condition that if no male heir is ever birthed by the couple, Odan-Urr would have to occupy the seat as King of Draethos and also due to the dwindling population of Draethos, a species considered under threat of extinction. The same appliances as Jedi Master Ki-Adi Mundi were applied, more so as a feat of emergency and thus it would be mandatory for the young Draethian to marry an equal-species female to preserve the species and occupy the Throne if no male heir is ever conceived.
Odan-Urr was a very special youngling, his species having never ever been in contact with the Jedi Order; his species psychic powers were as expected off the charts due to his Draethos-Pure Bloodline, the boy so naturally used telepathy to communicate with other children and equals except with his teachers although from time to time he would do so mentally. He would teleport to spots on the temple and bring objects to him with the mind. The boy would occasionally borrow Coruscant Symphonic Discs from her library and the boy's room would be filled with Symphonic songs whenever doing, reading, or drafting essays. The boy was odd, yet the force was strong in the boy, and many noticed it.
"You both would do well young ones." She escorted the children back to their dorms, as Kaleb fell asleep on automatic on his bed, the young Draethos shifted nervously.
"I sense turmoil and fear young one."
"Master Jocasta, if…if I were to not meet expectations." The boy hesitated and looked to the side. "Would…would it be possible for me to be an assistant in the library. I…I wish not to be sent to the Services." He sighed with regret having already listened Obi-Wan-Kenobi's history before Qui-Gon Jinn, a master was dependent on the initiate also.
"You will do well young one, I promise."
The Draethos boy nodded and spoke a single promise.
"I will meditate to soothe myself and embrace myself with the Force to guide me, Master."
The door was soon closed, and she sighed and smiled, each year younglings sure surprised. Due to the Clone Wars Ilum has been declared too dangerous and therefore the Jedi Initiate trials were altered for the third test for a child to go a cave where many illum crystals were held and there the youngling would attempt to find their crystal compatible with them. Jocasta could only grief for the younglings, in such trying times the Jedi Order needed them more than ever as padawans and knights.
'Geonosis has hit us.' She agonized.
Season Unending
We are nearing Kashyyyk.
The RSS Freedom, a Venator Class Star Destroyer of the Republic and one of the preserved ones navigated through the Hyperspace.
"Prepare for descending." A female voice ordered immediately as she waked through the hangar, as ARC Troopers and Clone Troopers prepared their gear. During the Initiate Trials on their second edition which calls for all the non-warring Jedi Members to see the new event, Ahsoka was given a padawan merely months after her knighting. And just before she could even connect with him the alarming news of a reinvigoration of Confederate hostilities caused an immediate deployment of many new knights turned masters into the fronts, while many others were also deployed. Jedi Knight now General Ahsoka Tano has been deployed with the 911st Legion "Rancor Legion" straight from Tipoca City itself with the newest batch of Clone Troopers and the expert teachers Blitz, Hammer, Havoc and Jesse would be having their first Baptism of Fire under the sea with a recently christened Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano former padawan of the chosen one Anakin Skywalker and with a padawan herself of a very unknown species just recently added to the Galactic Republic yet staunch on preserving their traditional ways a Draethos. As she walked through the hangar, the blast-doors opened to her personal quarters which she now shared with her Nine-year old Draethos Padawan. On the tiny training room an improvised blaster shooter as orb floated and changed directions as it shot. At least four were in the shooting at a Common Trooper Speed which was way above the Droid rate of fire and all he was doing was evading and or using the force to shield. She gasped as she gazed at a modified HK-47 Droid painted in the common color of the clankers or Battle Droids, as a Droideka rolled forward and the training blaster defectors evaded, the re-programmed Droideka got in combat position ignited its shield and did its first quadruple shots from its twin blasters, as the young man did a summersault and a back roll, igniting the lightsaber, he called out.
"Checkmate, friend."
A whistle was heard, and the droids turned. All the while as her young Padawan trained intensely for war, she just gazed. However, she could only feel sadness worm up her heart, when did the beloved peacekeepers turned now into child soldiers. These children who grew up in the Jedi Temple grew sheltered from the Propaganda of the Raxus Address, of many openly throwing shit at the Republic. Many of them were only initiates or even barely that when they felt the grief of the force by the massive deaths of Geonosis, she felt a few days before she was shipped off to Christophsis. During the years of the Separatist Crisis the Masters got stern with the training, there was a reason she emerged already talented enough in combat. After Geonosis, the prognosis turned grim and actively the Sentinels in charge of research constantly gave classes about Droid Usage to the younglings, rumors even spoke of Jedi Mechanics openly teaching younglings the dark—side art of Mechu-Deru to control and manipulate Droids and technology.
The tech department recommissioned thousands of Assassin Droids from wreckages and Droidekas to teach advanced combat to younglings, after Geonosis many masters inside the order agreed that they wanted the Padawans to be ready enough to survive. The droid beeping and noises echoed as the droids settled once again off from the stage.
"Conclusion: You are competent enough to burn holes through those inferior models, do you not master?" The repurposed HK-47 assassin droid addressed as the young man dressed in Jedi robes turned to his master.
"Master."
Ahsoka's Draethos padawan graced her as she frowned. "I didn't expect you to come." The boy surprised her, he certainly knew his way around blaster fire.
"I heard about the Tech Department Recommissioning droids, yet nobody mentioned of assassin droids?" Crossing her arms facing her young apprentice who scratched the back of his head. "Well, uh, you see. Em, originally this droid was on the Archives Museum." The boy bashfully turned to the side. "I might've practiced Mechu-Deru on Grandmaster Revan's Assassin Droid and it worked, however with most of its circuitry too old, dating the era before Grandmaster Fae Coven, it was repaired and since then it has been my crutch and Droid Combat assistant." She rose her eyebrow in amusement, using Dark-Side Force Powers openly certainly would have set the Master's alarms, more so when younglings so easily practice the ability uninhibited, and their caretakers believe that learning meditation or memorizing the Jedi Code is better.
"Very Good Odan, you've prepared yourself well against Droids." Ahsoka complimented her padawan. "Thank you Master. I have been putting extra hours into my training after I was met with positive criticism on my abilities by my fellow younglings." He addressed her yet his mouth did not seem to move, and he adjusted himself to turn back at her.
"I did not expect you to know anything Odan. In fact, what I most regret will be that you will live also in this period of turmoil and war." Ahsoka Tano reassured the part of her armor yet wearing her own style of apparel, her own padawan however chose instead to wear his jedi robes with a single slim golden circlet atop his head, which he has always worn. Having worn it since his stay as a youngling, it was usual he would wear such head-apparel as a padawan.
"We need to get ready, the Wookiees cannot wait for long." Ahsoka voiced her primary mission concern, the Wookiees asked for Republic Aid since the CIS has been attacking nearby systems. Master Yoda whose presence was important during the entirety of the initiate trials and the Senate Sessions afterwards as most of the High Council. The only thing Grandmaster Yoda could do was send her and her newly acquired padawan to planet Kashyyyk. Her recent Jedi Knight admittance was something she never saw coming, after her near banishment from the order, her former master and secret 'boyfriend?' Anakin Skywalker had to convince her to stay in the Jedi Order with an expensive diner in an expensive restaurant. Of course, after overcoming that trial and after a near-death where she connected deeply with her master and they formed an entirely new bond, she earned the rank of Jedi Knight and not only a pair of days after all celebrations died down, but she was also given a padawan.
It was outrageous, she needed time to get acquainted with her Knighthood, more so she wanted the war to be over by then. To be able to truly be a keeper of peace and not a soldier. 'Who am I kidding?' She thought with regret. 'This war won't be over anytime soon.' She thought with regret, the Jedi High Council tried to make thing smooth, but those damned confederates made things so hard.
"Master."
She hated the title, the name. Anakin hated the formality of the title and preferred the nickname 'Skyguy' or just Skywalker over the damned formal title.
"Ahsoka." She replied on instinct as she turned to her young Padawan who lightly bowed and nodded. She frowned, she was dealing with a padawan, frail and just new to the world outside the temple. "My master never enjoyed being called Master. He used to be a slave on Tatooine." She replied with a light smile of endeared remembrance as her young padawan nodded.
"Is it true? Did he really defeat an entire battalion of droids with his Lightsaber?"
She lightly chuckled, younglings always had a big imagination when hearing about exploits of other jedi.
"When did he not?" She rolled her eyes with a kind smile.
"Is it true that the Sith are back?" Her eyes narrowed at the thought, she briefly remembered her skirmishes with Asajj Ventress, Grievous, the Count…all of them sinister as the last.
"I…I apologize for asking Mas- Ahsoka." Her shy padawan called out as he straightened himself and lightly sagged his shoulders. "It's just, no Dark Side Cultists have been seen ever since the Seventh Battle of Russan and the Reformation of the Republic after Darth Bane was confirmed dead by the Jedi Shadows." She rose an eyebrow at her apprentice's knowledge, she didn't know that part of History. To her she mostly concentrated on learning the force and fighting the lightsaber.
"Tell me more about this Battle of Russan." She narrowed her eyes as her young padawan vigorously nodded.
"Well; the New Sith Wars were started by the Fourth Great Schism in the Jedi Order, where a former Jedi Master by the name of Phianus, who took the name Darth Ruin and abandoned the Jedi Order. Seeking jedi knowledge, he took with him forty other Jedi Order members to start the Jedi Empire. This new Sith Empire invaded the Galactic Republic Territory, which had no choice but to use the Mandalorian as their army to try and fend off the Sith Threat. It didn't work and the grueling Sith Order won victories for a thousand years before they could march into the Inner Core when finally, Coruscant attacked back. By then Phianus's Empire was showing its crumbling Nature. Sith are particular in how they act between their peers, they started lusting to the emperor's power and attack each other. Eventually, only a tiny fraction of what used to be stayed, by the time the Jedi Order interfered the Sith's numbers were halved. Of course, in these numbers was a human, rumored Apatrosi his name…Dessel. Grew in power and saw the downfall of all the Sith, and when he was summoned to arms in the 7th Battle of Russan, he denied the call and allowed for the Jedi to kill all the Sith in the Galaxy. Before he created the Rule of Two. His institution was easy; Two there would always be A master and an Apprentice. One master to take all what the apprentice loves, craves, wants, and needs. And One apprentice to take back all what was taken from him from the Master. Of course, there are other interpretations of the adage, One Master to embody power and an Apprentice to Take It. Yet as Master Oorroo ways Jedi does not grasp, does not dominate, or oppresses; but the Sith need to grasp for them to feel the force they lost, need to Dominate others to appease their Master and must oppress to empower the sliver of force they feel by grasping."
Ahsoka Shivered, she understood the Sith more with this single thing and it complimented with what she knew what her red-bladed enemies applied in combat. Though, she had questions.
'If Sith must Grasp to feel their lost force and must Dominate to appease their Master. Who is Asajj's master, Dooku? And if Dooku is the master, where does Grievous and Maul fit?' She formed her own theories from the short book-extracted knowledge her padawan gathered.
'Perhaps now as a Knight I can access certain wings of the Library I've never had access to before?' She thought although she frowned, she was not fond of reading any books, something she inherited from her Master and her Master from her Master. She lightly suppressed a giggle; it was funny seeing how Master-Padawan traditions are seen. Though it created more conflict for her, Dooku has been seen with another Sith, which makes already four. Who was the Apprentice and Who was the Master?
And if they were Sith, were they also threatening to form an Empire?
'How would they form an-.' She thought and gasped just as immediately. 'How didn't we saw it before? The Clone Wars, the Confederation…' Her eyes narrowed before she hummed in pain and massaged her head, too much information was getting to her, with her Padawan's own conclusions, sinister, very sinister foreshadowing, and predictions she had in her mind.
"Master?" Her padawan asked bashfully and shyly towards her as she nodded.
"Do not let yourself get lost in the past my padawan, you must live and concentrate in living your present. Loosing yourself in what was or what will be will make you lose your focus on the now." She straightened herself and tried to modulate her voice to sound more 'Like a Master Should', taking some examples from how Grandmaster Yoda and Master Plo-Koon sounded, more than her own master's tone.
"But Grandmaster Yoda and even the past Grandmasters have always said to never ever neglect the 'What If's' or 'What Could be's'." Her Padawan tilted his head to the side, and she looked beyond.
"While it is true that we are beings of 'The Force', right now those Wookiees need you here Oddy." Surprising even herself with the nickname for her Padawan she stepped through the hangar once more, her padawan learner took a last look at his lightsaber hilt before clicking it on his belt and following her.
"Take the LAATi's to the Shore!" She cried out to the Clone Troopers and the ARCs as she continued, as the four ARCs faced her and saluted militarily.
"General Tano." They acknowledged.
"Assemble the Line once you've all surfaced." She gestured towards the four Command Troopers. "Blitz, you will pilot. I shall get the Wookiees and follow in case they come before we can assemble." She took command and got inside one of the LAATis already prepared and her Padawan followed her like a sworn shadow. As soon as they took shoot, she saw her padawan sitting on the floor, closing his eyes, and meditating. Once again, another surprise, she also felt topsy-turvy in her chest and stomach, this being the first time she would be expected to lead as a Jedi General and not a commander anymore. She was expected to have a strategy, to order all troopers and at the same time teach her Padawan about leadership and about the battlefield.
'I'll also meditate.' She sat down, closed her eyes, and started to calm herself.
She felt anxious, she couldn't take the feeling away from her. And most of the time she tried to meditate, she ended up focusing on her connection with her Master, she felt his force around her, her brightness was darkened turning it into a bright grey. She concentrated on the color gray; it didn't hurt her eyes to see but it didn't retrieve her of light. She focused on her force and the gray force around her. The Unifying Living Force, beautifully dancing around her. In moments of doubt, she would at times respect and summon some of Anakin's determination and courage. Her insecurities slowly being washed out by a serenity, the feel of Anakin's arms around her, his words of reassurance, his constant security.
We are nearing Kachirho.
Blitz was the first to announce.
"I have good relationship with the Wookiees, I made a friend named Chewbacca." Ahsoka announced to Blitz as they approached to the shores of Kashyyyk, as the capital city of the Wookiees slowly made itself clear. She got up from her meditation position and approached to Blitz.
"Lower the speed and get us on landing near the shores." She gestured pointing towards the nearest shore. To which Blitz obeyed the order and slowed the LAAAT to a landing speed, as they descended the sandy shores, the Wookie chieftain Chewbacca and another one unknown to her received them.
"Chewbacca." Ahsoka called with familiarity as her padawan followed her.
"HurrGugghHaa, Guggh Hurr Hurr GhggghhHaaaHurr, Guggghh Grrr Gugghgh." Chewbacca embraced Ahsoka back after calling her name in Shyriiwook as he introduced his company.
"Ok, it's an honor to meet you Chief Tarffull." Ahsoka bowed down, as she gestured to her padawan. "This is my Padawan learner Odan-Urr." Ahsoka gestured to the young man who bowed. Both wookiees turned to each other as they eagerly lead them through their Headquarters.
"Hurrgugggh HaaHurr Guggh Hurr Grrr, Hugh." Tarffull lead them and Ahsoka nodded, having brushed her Shyriiwook enough to know it during her time with Chewbacca on that slave mission and afterwards just to not forget it. "The Order acknowledges your concern Chief Tarffull. The Galactic Republic has readied a Battalion to defend Kashyyyk just in case the Separatist Armada wishes to take over." Ahsoka relayed the situation short for both Chieftains, it was obvious the mission was more 'Overseeing the Strategic Positioning of GAoR forces over the Planet' than a 'Fight Seps here'. Yet even these missions got her on edge.
As the Republic Ships started to approach the capital by first and the Commandos to assemble them before orders were relayed.
"Also, Grandmaster Yoda sends his regards. He deeply apologizes for not having come to aid his friends this time, yet he as a Grandmaster had to oversee the Initiate Trials in their entirety and be there for the Opening of the Sessions of the Galactic Senate of the Republic." She rolled her eyes at the order's highest masters rubbing arms, forearms and backs with the crème which are the Galaxy's most prominent politicians. A blatant show of the blackhearted nature when around them the fires of the Seps don't cease to burn.
"General." Hammer reported to her as more ships descended. As they were lead atop a tree, with its ceiling made of tree trunks, with an open sight towards the shore, she saw a table and resting atop was a map of Kashyyyk. "Alright General, by tomorrow we'll spread the forces throughout Kashyyyk to make various outposts in the planet." She trailed off and just as soon a transmission reached the ARC's.
Sep ships from Hyperspace.
I repeat, Incoming Sep ships from Hyperspace.
Calling out in Shyriiwook for the forces, Ahsoka ordered the Clone Troopers and ARCs to get ready for the Battle of Kashyyyk, As the Clones prepared the battleground for the Battle of Kashyyyk. As the first Droids to arrive were Crab Droids, alongside HMP droid gunships with B1s inside and above which fired their blasters at the Clone Troopers. From a High Ground on the Tallest Tree of the Capital City she observed the battle alongside the chieftains Chewbacca and Tarffull as the Wookiee Warriors and the Clone Armies decimated the droids at first. The First Rush was easy, as if nothing.
"Master." Ahsoka turned to her Padawan who lightly grunted and took a hold of his head. "I sense the Dark Side, on there." He pointed to the sky, and she squinted her eyes.
"General." Hammer handed her a pair of Binoculars and she used them, zooming in their max, she smirked.
"Hammer, send out the entirety of our forces to the Battleground. Chewbacca." She turned to her friend, and she spoke.
"General Grievous has been spotted. I will get down with my padawan and lead the rest of the charge forward."
Ahsoka announced and she turned to her padawan, nodding they both rushed to the battleground as the B1s turned to short squadrons of Super Droids.
"Let's go." Ahsoka cried out as the entirety of the last charge of Clones and the full team of ARC Troopers with Chewbacca leading the Wookiee charge lead the forces against the emboldened forces of General Grievous who took no time to assault frontally.
Through fear he made himself flamboyantly known and tore through the first two Troopers that tried to shoot him. A third one that rushed from behind was taken a hold by his left leg and thrown forward as he threw a bade forward, stabbing both at the same time at once.
As a team of three magnaguards rushed forward and fought with two clone troopers each occupying three, the personal guard of Grievous however managed each six. Grievous mercilessly would tear and cause chaos around, as a wookiee roared and assaulted forward with a blaster and a blade, Grievous met the blade with a lightsaber cutting it like bread through butter and taking the Wookiee's arm. Grievous evaded a thrown axe to his side as he held the Wookiee's throat. Chuckling out loud as he was about to snap it before he was pushed away with the force and slammed to a nearby pole, he did a backflip and she prepared her two cyan blue lightsabers to engage the droid general alongside her padawan.
"Ah." The General almost chuckled in its tone, as a symphony of Chaos spread through the lines of Troopers and Wookiees as the Droid General outstretched his arms.
"The Breaker of Chains." The general's cloak billowed with the wind announcing its comeback, Ahsoka grunted as the general outstretched its arms, showing lightsabers, more than she saw before.
'Must've added those during our period in Coruscant.' She thought with a frown.
"You must realize your foolishness in attempting this defense. You are doomed."
She summoned her twin lightsabers and went into a stance, as her padawan did so too and got ready. Chuckling as he watched the lightsabers.
"Orange…" Grievous chuckled. "More additions to my collection."
The general didn't hesitate to rush against them both; The general was relentless in his rush against her starting by swinging upwards to downwards. She parried. He attempted to kick her, she evaded and her padawan used the force to slide the Cyborg to the side. He met the cyborg with methodic parries and slashes. Just as he attempted to meet the boy, she got in and managed to slash out one of his arms.
"Argh." The Cyborg cried out and jumped back.
Dusting his body.
"Young fool. I've been trained on the arts by Count Dooku. I would know his form anywhere." The Cyborg glared at the young one who remained firm in his stance. She however gave no chance for Grievous to jump and with his three arms try and slash her padawan on his way down, instead she met his lightsabers with her own in an X-cross motion. Her padawan on her side punched forward and Grievous was repulsed a great distance away, only for the general to do a backflip. Chuckling out as the young one turned around and swing his blade to meet a magna-guard's staff.
"Magnaguards!" Oddy cried out to which she got ready to battle the Magna Guards, one tried to attack her from behind. She sidestepped and twisted, which the Magnaguard blocked, and she kicked the Magnaguard in the solar plexus and with a jump she crossed the sabers on the dastardly robot's head.
It rolled.
And threw it at the one behind her, it pierced successfully. Her padawan was with one, the last one of Grievous's guards, he blocked the staff with Makashi method slashes, until a good opening was on the head, and he thrusted through, which the Magnaguard went down soon enough.
"Get down!"
Ahsoka rushed and tackled her Padawan as a Super Droid's missile passed through them and exploded on a nearby tree. She rose her head, outstretched her arm, and closed her palm into a fist. The B2 droid had no chance and was crushed like a can bottle of energy drink.
"Do not get too distracted Padawan. Makashi is weak against multiple enemies." She admonished earning her Padawan's nod, and both continued their battles. As her padawan jumped more and got more dynamic, adding more Ataru to his attack. She frowned; it would do him well to learn Djem So. She knows he might hate trying to use unorthodox attacks and overpowering others instead of saving energy, but in war little is left to economize and more to overpowering others. It was a path to winning than moderation.
"You'll do better next time Oddie." As General Grievous's ship escaped; the clones were decimating the CIS troops already on all the rush.
"The attack was short." Her padawan commented as he turned around still shaken, trying to find Grievous anywhere, which she doubted he would. As she approached and settled a hand on his shoulder he turned around and she offered.
"I was also shaken in my first battle when I was summoned in the battleground." She announced, even at age Seventeen she would still feel overall disgraced that she has lived through this was since she was Fourteen when it started for her in Christophsis.
"My baptism of fire was in Christophsis, back then my Master wasn't that…welcome in having a padawan." She confessed and her young padawan frowned. "I cannot quite imagine the Hero Without Fear being Grumpy at being your Master, Master."
She lightly chuckled imagining a pouting Anakin Skywalker and patted her Padawan's back. As they came back towards the main tents, healing tents were established, many hovering beds were carrying deceased Wookiees yet the denizens and everything was filled with dead clone troopers. As the Clone Commanders, Chewbacca and Tarffull gestured for her, she went ahead.
Taking a life affects the Living force. This is why we enter battle calmly, fear and anger lead to the dark side. As the Jedi Code teaches us; there is no emotion, there is peace. Remember those words when times are darkest.
It is in times like this, where Odan-Urr Jedi Padawan of Ahsoka Tano, the Legendary Jedi Master who apprenticed under the Chosen One takes a comfort in the words of the Ancient Masters of the Jedi Order from the Meditation-Helping Holocrons available to all Jedi Order Members. Masters and Grandmasters have added their own sections, Grandmaster Satele Shan's words about the Living Force and Killing take more strength here than ever, and with a sigh, he meditated on the first words of the Jedi Code.
There is no emotion, there is peace.
An ode to a Jedi's fight against the darkening world. As if the seasons of the withering of the leaves around being simple air washing them away. A clone trooper with half of its face burned and with explosive sharp knell on its neck grasped his hand. The living force never has been so affected by the loss of life. His fascination with Jedi History and Archeological findings made him read about past Jedi Wars, he has read of heroes and villains. Good Jedi that in times of war turned to the Dark Side, pillars of their generation that were corrupted, love destroyed; and in the end all it brings is the same cycle, the same wars, the same disputes. An unending season.
Jedi are peacekeepers.
Yet they have been piggybacked by the Republic to their wars on numerous occasions. And other times they have piggybacked the Republic to their Sith wars.
"Have we failed?" He looked at the agonizing clone as he pondered on that, if war is the supreme failure of bridging the differences between two groups, does that mean that the Jedi failed? "Odan." Ahsoka called as the clone gave a last breath.
'And most wars have always ended up with a Sith Empire being established.' Odan thought with a tragic gaze, feeling angry yet at the same time vulnerable due to that anger. He acknowledged that vulnerability as it roused more than his anger which made him feel sadder because of it.
"Have we failed, master?" He whispered as he contemplated on a deceased clone trooper, nameless amongst the many thousands or millions in the Army. A death was a death for the living force, regardless of its origin.
"If war is the supreme failure of bridging difference, have we failed as Jedi…"
Ahsoka who tried to feel better after winning, her Padawan made the short elation she felt at fulfilling her role as General to finally weight on her.
If war is the supreme failure of bridging difference, have we failed as Jedi.
'Yes.' Ahsoka's own thoughts terminated without fear, yet she was afraid of speaking it aloud, the sacrosanct and sanctified, clean and uncorrupted Jedi Order. Has Failed? Sounds like a Sep propaganda they would use to stain the Jedi and have another shot at kicking the Republic. Yet, the skeleton was opened, and it smelled bad, bad. So bad that hiding it under a rug is not manageable. As much as it ached her heart, yes; The Jedi Order had failed. Her padawan's own thoughts were not wrong and she could feel his…Anger?
No, Anger was petty. Usually anger she felt it strong and visceral, as a loud cry against all the world that reverberated through the force. This, this felt different. It felt as sobs, as if someone sobbed through the force…vulnerable, sad, weak.
"I feel angry Master, for as I have failed you with my weakness. I have failed the order and…I've failed myself."
Her padawan was too severe with himself, far too much to be allowed.
"And failure is a great teacher Odan, we can learn from it." Ahsoka graced her padawan apprentice with comforting words of wisdom she could achieve. Tiny snippets of her own wisdom and of what she has experienced in her War-Torn Jedi Life.
"Come, we have to report." She gestured to her Padawan; it would do her padawan good to retrieve to himself before continuing his training.
