The sun was just barely setting when Nick returned to Monroe's house. Three sharp raps on the door and Monroe exited his home with a rather somber expression.

"Are you ready for this?" Monroe's tone seemed cautionary, like he was already starting to regret offering his aid. "Once we find where the girl is, I can't make any promises on what you'll find or what'll happen after."

"I know that," Nick shook his head in slight defiance. "But if there's any chance that the girl's still alive, I owe it to her to do whatever it takes to bring her home."

"As long as we are on the same page," said Monroe, taking a deep calming breath to center his nerves. "So I'll need either something of hers or to be in a location where she was recently to get a good idea of her scent."

"I'll show you where we know she was taken then." Nick turned and began to lead Monroe to the location of Robin's abduction point.

When they reached the location, Monroe looked around briefly at the slightly disturbed grass and took a few experimental sniffs in the air. "There's not much here."

"Is there enough though?"

"I'm not sure, but I can give it a try." Monroe knelt down towards the center of what looked to be the most human-like impressions on the ground. He took another calming breath before snapping his head up, face becoming more wolf-like once more. Eyes closed, Monroe took multiple deep breaths. Shifting a couple of times, he finally stood up and opened his eyes. Red eyes bored into Nick's with determination. "I think I've got it."

With that, the two returned to the street. "After here," Monroe gestured towards the sidewalk before turning to the road on his right, "the scent heads off down the road. Most likely in a vehicle. It'll probably be best to take our own. No telling how far they traveled." Monroe got into his yellow buggy and stuck himself halfway out the window. "Getting in?"

Nick shook his head slightly. "It'll probably be better that I follow you. That way if you need to leave you can."

"Suit yourself."

Once Nick was ready, Monroe started down the road with Nick following closely behind. Monroe continued to drive with his body halfway out his window, car swaying side to side, his wolven visage constantly sniffing the air. As they continued on, Monroe began to pick up speed. Almost like he was getting more confident in the direction they were heading and more sure that they were getting closer. As Nick stepped on the gas to keep up, he hit the speed dial on his phone for his partner.

"Griffin," Nick's partner's voice crackled over the car speakers.

"Hank, it's me," Nick responded. "I think I've got a lead on Robin's location. I'll text you a location once I'm sure."

"How many people have you notified?" Monroe's buggy started to sway a bit more erratically than before.

"Just you. I don't want to pull people if it doesn't pan out." Monroe's buggy suddenly veered right and disappeared into the tree line.

"Shit!" Nick yanked hard on his steering wheel towards the right, barely making the turn onto a hidden road Monroe started going down.

"You all right?" Hank's voice crackled over Nick's speakers again.

"Yeah. Just a dog on the road." Nick took a breath. "Anyway, if this does pan out, I wouldn't want too many people involved anyway. Don't want to spook him or we could lose the girl."

Silence greeted Nick for a moment before Hank's voice spoke up once again. "Alright, if you're sure."

"I wouldn't be if I didn't call." Nick promptly hung up.

A short while later, Monroe's buggy started to slow down before pulling off to the side of the road. Nick followed suit, parking next to Monroe's car. Nick grabbed his phone and sent a quick text before exiting his vehicle. Monroe was already out of his car and shifting from one foot to the other. Looking about, all Nick could see at the moment were trees.

"The scent leads this way," Monroe said before leading Nick further into the woods. After a few minutes, a cabin could be spotted in the distance. A dull glow emanated from it, indicating that the cabin was occupied. "She's most likely there, but if we get any closer, we'll probably be noticed."

"A location is all I needed, thanks." Nick nodded towards Monroe, "I've got my partner on his way already so we should probably head back."

The two started to head back towards their vehicles when Monroe got a contemplative look on his face. "You know the more I smell the air around here, the more I think I recognize this scent."

"What do you mean?"

"The scent around here is a lot stronger than by my house, but it smells a lot like the scent that lingers around my mailbox." Monroe continued as they neared their cars. "I'm starting to think that the smell belongs to my mailman, but I've never met the man. He's always long gone before I check my mail."

Lights started to pierce the tree line, announcing the arrival of Nick's partner. Pulling beside the other vehicles, Hank got out and looked around. Noticing Nick and Monroe, Hank raised a brow. "Alright, what's this lead you got and who's this? Cause right now it looks like you've brought me out to the middle of nowhere for no reason."

Ah right, to explain Monroe. "This is Monroe. He lives across from where Robin was taken. He was just pointing out where he thinks she is."

"And how would he know that?" Hank's eyes began to narrow as he began to study the Blutbad.

"His mailman has a cabin up ahead." The lie spun in Nick's head rapidly as he glanced towards Monroe to take the hint/lead. Hopefully this guy is the mailman.

"Y-Yeah," startled slightly at suddenly being put on the spot by the Grimm, Monroe stumbled over his words a bit. "He was acting kind of strange and was late dropping my mail off. I didn't think much of it when he initially left in a hurry, cause you know he was probably running behind. But then the news about the girl over the television got me thinking and I knew he had a cabin out this way from previous conversations. I didn't see him today, which was why I called Nick and showed him where the cabin is."

"Right," the slow drawl from Hank gave the distinct impression that he wasn't really buying it. He gave Monroe a side look before focusing on Nick. "Are you sure about this Nick?"

"Like I said earlier, I wouldn't have called if I wasn't." Nick nodded his head before giving a slight smile. "Trust me Hank. I've got a good feeling about this."

Giving his partner a long look, Hank sighed. "Alright, I'll trust you for now. Now show me this cabin."

Monroe startled. "You're going now? Wait!" Looking about quickly, Monroe tore some plants out of the ground and rushed towards Hank and began to rub them on him.

'Wolfsbane. Helps mask scent from most Wesen with sensitive noses. Probably won't be helpful here with Hank, but it doesn't hurt.' Nick noted as Hank tried to wave Monroe off. After rubbing Hank down, Monroe grabbed more wolfsbane and did the same to Nick. At Hank's incredulous look when Monroe stepped back, Nick could only shrug. "He watches too many horror films." Nick started to head into the woods. "Come on, let's go."

Hank scowled slightly before catching up to Nick. "If your lead is wrong, then you owe me breakfast tomorrow. And I'm not talking donuts." Hank shook his head slightly. "Scratch that. You owe me big. You owe me breakfast for the rest of the year. And I'm talking bacon, eggs, pancakes. Meals fit for a king." Hank shook his head. "That guy's just straight up weird."

Nick could only chuckle slightly as they started to approach the cabin. "His heart is in the right place." Sobering up as they approached the door, Nick looked towards Hank. "You ready."

Hank rolled his eyes slightly. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get this over with." With that he gave a loud knock on the door. A minute or so passed before the door started to open. A relatively thin man peered back at them.

"Yes?" The word came out stretched as the man questioned nasally.

Hank put his best police smile forward before speaking. "Evening sir. We're investigating the disappearance of Robin Howell. An anonymous tip was given placing you within the area during the time of her disappearance. We're here to ask you a few questions and to have a brief look around. With your permission of course."

The man stared silently at the two detectives, face unreadable. Finally after an uncomfortable long pause he slowly responded. "But of course."
