Day 6-(Postcards/pride)
Kaede/Mahiru
"What? I'm not nervous, a walk isn't needed I promise." Kaede said.
It would of sounded convincing to almost anyone who didn't know the pianist well enough.
On top of a big event coming up for Kaede to perform there was the anxiety of flying for the first time. Mahiru had told her watching all those final destination movies with the guys on a dare would make her paranoid. Did she listen to her girlfriend? Nope.
Seeming to read her mind from the annoyed exasperated expression the red head had on she decided to add on.
"Look,I know the difference between fiction and reality okay? My fear of bicycles was worse then this and I got over that. This won't be any harder. The longer we stand around we could miss our flight and I know how bad you hate being late.
"Well she isn't wrong but still."
"I know I hate being late Kaede but I'd hate to see you have a random panic attack out of nerves. Jeez, your stubbornness with putting others first is almost as bad as some of the boys in our class I swear." Mahiru said while shaking her head.
Taking Kaede by the hand they went outside and got on her bicycle. kaede was holding onto her from behind. It was ironic that what use to be a big fear for her was now a source of comfort. While Mahiru did like being early the small distraction wouldn't hurt. Besides that she really couldn't live with herself if kaede wound up having a panic attack out of nerves. They road for 10 minutes which had Kaede's death grip and pulse seemed to ease from the photographer's back. They saw a man pushing a cart not far from the local park gates.
"Hey look! Slow down Mahiru, I want some ice cream." Kaede exclaimed while pointing at the frozen treat.
"So much for wanting to rush there." Mahiru thought. She knew they still had a good amount of time for a quick break before heading back so she wasn't to worried. Watching the blonde happily eat the ice cream cone like a starved goblin, Mahiru couldn't help but chuckle. She could be messy but cute at times like this. While she wouldn't say she was exactly "stuck up" as some people might claim their first year, Kaede helped her take it easy in moments like these. A moment she'd likely be scolding a person for eating slobbery if it was anyone else.
While putting one arm around kaede's waste and putting up her phone camera with the other she took a photo of them. It seemed to take a moment for kaede to realize what happened as she finished devouring the remains of her cone.
"Hey! I wasn't ready yet, your suppose to tell people to at least smile before you do that." Kaede said through a mouth full of cone.
Mahiru just laughed again though gave a light kiss on kaede's lips as if to apologize.
"I know but you just looked to cute like that and I didn't want to ruin a natural moment with a forced smile. Besides that'll make a good postcard that I can send for my mom when we get there." She explained.
Blushing slightly Kaede tried to look annoyed for a few seconds before she started laughing to before muttering something.
The pair got on the bike again to head back, glad they got to spend a little more time in piece before having to endure the long flight to Kaede's event.
