Chapter 32
As we stepped inside the reception room, I noticed a different human secretary sitting behind the desk. Demetri nodded to her as he led me to the elevators, presumably to go to the garage. I couldn't help but wonder if she thought I was going to be his meal. Descending to the garage, my excitement grew. Besides Felix, I hadn't really interacted with anyone else yet. I hoped I'd be able to fit in, despite being human.
The elevator doors opened, revealing Felix, who was hard to miss with his towering presence among the five other vampires waiting with him. As we walked towards them, I took a moment to observe the other five vampires. Among them, I recognized Heidi from the photograph in Demetri's room. In person, she looked even more stunning, seemingly hotter than Rosalie, which was hard to believe. I quickly decided it was due to her smile, something I rarely saw on Rosalie. Another vampire caught my attention; he looked remarkably young and I thought he might be Alec. While it was challenging to estimate ages with vampires, I'd guess he appeared to be around 16 or 17, but Demetri's descriptions hinted that he might be even younger, perhaps 14 or 15, and was simply doing his best to appear older.
I greeted them with a smile, and as we approached, Demetri introduced me to the group. "Everyone, this is Bella Swan. For those who weren't present in the throne room during her introduction, she'll be joining us in immortality in a few years. Bella, you already know Felix, but this is his wife Heidi. Next to her is Corin." I nodded to the two women with a warm smile as Demetri continued with the introductions. "And this is Alec, Chelsea, and Santiago."
"Hi, it's nice to meet you all," I said, offering a friendly wave. "Demetri has told me a little about some of you."
Heidi stepped forward, extending a hand in greeting. "It's nice to meet you, Bella. I've already heard quite a lot about you from my hubby here." She playfully wrapped her arms around Felix. "It sounds like you put on quite a show tossing him around. I wish I had seen it."
I chuckled. "Well, I'd love to do some training with you guys at some point during my stay, so maybe you'll get another chance," I replied with a friendly smile.
Heidi's eyes lit up. "That sounds like fun. Alright, how many cars are we taking? I know I'm driving the Maserati," she proclaimed with enthusiasm.
As they were deciding who's going with who, Santiago approached me with a charming smile. He gently picked up my hand and gracefully bent down to kiss it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Bella. I hope we can find some time to get better acquainted during your stay."
I regarded him with wide eyes and quickly withdrew my hand, all while a quite noticeable growl emanated from behind me. I stepped back, next to Demetri, who appeared visibly tense. I placed my hand on his back and began to rub it soothingly.
"Damn, Santi. Use your nose," Chelsea said with some exasperation.
"I'm sorry. I meant no offense," Santiago replied quickly, swiftly moving behind Chelsea, faster than I could see.
I decided to lower the tension and quickly chimed in, saying, "No problem. It's nice to meet you." Turning to Demetri, I suggested, "How about you drive? Pick out a fast vehicle. Do you guys have your own vehicles, or does everyone just share the cars here?"
Corin spoke up, "We do have personal vehicles in another garage, but we all use these for daily use or while on the job. Dem, why don't you take the BMW over there, and I'll come with you guys. Alec, come with us."
Demetri led me to a really sporty-looking car, a bright red one with heavily tinted windows. I took the shotgun seat as Demetri got behind the wheel. Corin got in behind me, and Alec settled in behind Demetri. Demetri still hadn't said anything, so I reached over and rubbed his leg. I didn't think Santiago had done anything terribly wrong, but I wasn't entirely sure about vampire etiquette when it came to hitting on someone who, I suppose, smelled like another vampire. Probably not the smartest move, in my opinion.
As we pulled out of the garage, I turned my head back to Corin and Alec, eager to get to know them better.
"So, tell me a little about yourselves. How long have you guys been vampires?" I inquired.
Corin spoke up first. "I'm probably one of the youngest in the Volturi. I was turned in the mid-1600s by an English vampire in London. I think he was hoping for a companion, but we didn't quite click, so I went out on my own. Eventually, I came in contact with the Volturi, and Aro thought I would make a good fit, especially since I had a useful ability."
"Really, what can you do? I always love hearing about vampire abilities." I asked, turning my whole body around to see her better. Corin was about my height with long straight black hair.
"I discovered that I have an aura that can make both humans and vampires feel happy and content. I can also focus it directly on someone to pacify them. It's helpful for certain situations, and, let's be honest, who wouldn't want to be happy," Corin said, her pride evident as she spoke about her unique ability.
"Could you give it a try on me?" I inquired, a playful smile on my lips. "So far, no powers have worked on me. I'm already happy and content, but really blast me and let's see if I can feel your power."
I observed Corin as she focused intently on me. After a minute, she questioned, "Do you feel anything, Bella?"
"No, nothing," I replied with a casual shrug. "I guess it didn't work on me. Oh well. How about you try it on Demetri here so I can see its effect on someone?" I knew Demetri had not spoken yet, and I wanted to make sure he was not upset and would be happy and content by the time we got to the club.
I observed Demetri, and soon he turned to me, flashing a reassuring smile. "Ok, Bella. I'm nice and content now. No need to worry." He reached for my hand, his touch soothing, and I returned his smile, relieved that he was back to his usual self.
"Good job," I complimented Corin with a wink, then shifted my attention to Alec. "So, Alec, what's your story? Demetri has already told me about your ability. I would be very interested in seeing it in action, but probably not right now in a moving vehicle. How about in a couple of days, maybe in the training center?" I suggested, offering him a friendly smile.
Alec chuckled, his voice warm and friendly. "Sure, I'd be happy to test it out with you. You're right, the car would not be advisable," he said with a smile. "As for my story, I, along with my sister Jane, have been with the Volturi for a little over a thousand years. We were originally from England as well. Jane and I were actually in the process of being burned alive at the stake for witchcraft when Aro saved us."
"Damn, that sucks. What made them think you were witches? I've heard the stories of American witch trials, and the whole thing sounded crazy. I'm sure a thousand years ago it was probably worse," I remarked, looking at him intently. It was fascinating to hear a firsthand account of those times, although it was likely not the best memory for him.
"Well, in our cases, they might have been closer to the truth than others. We can't remember for sure, but Jane and I might have had less powerful versions of our current abilities while we were still human. After we became vampires, I took to the new life in stride and love being a vampire. Jane, on the other hand, took great offense to being burned alive. She went back a few years later and massacred the entire village."
"Okay. Good to know. Don't piss off Jane. I had already gotten that notion from talking with Carlisle back in the States. He didn't say it outright, but I got the impression that Jane liked to zap him."
Alec chuckled. "You could say that again. Carlisle, during his stay with us, had a tendency to try and convert everyone to his way of eating. Let's just say he didn't get any takers, and Jane has a very short fuse."
Demetri chimed in, "Honestly, he was lucky to leave Volterra alive. Caius did not take kindly to his proselytism. Let's just say he was very fortunate to be friends with Aro."
I chuckled, "I know what you mean. He tried to convert me before I even became a vampire. I should have told him I couldn't eat animals because I'm a vegetarian, but I didn't think of that comeback until I was home later that night." I got a chuckle from all three vampires.
Alec spoke up, "Getting back to my situation, Bella, if you think about it, if you had lived in my time with your abilities, hell, even today, you would definitely be considered a witch. What I saw you do to Felix was some next-level shit. I couldn't believe what I was seeing."
I grinned at him but responded with mock outrage, "Me, a witch? No way. If I'm going to label myself, I think I'd much rather be considered some sort of mutant than a witch. My generation is way more into superheroes than witches and wizards, but then again, the whole Harry Potter thing is pretty popular."
Alec chimed in, saying, "Jane and I really liked the Harry Potter books and movies. We were kind of hoping a vampire might have a more significant part in the story.
Corin interjected, clearly not a Potterhead, "So, how is Carlisle?" Her interest was unmistakable. "We haven't seen him since he left us, oh, about 300 years ago. He and I used to have a little thing going on back then."
I raised my eyebrows at that statement. "Sorry Corin. He's been happily married now for close to a century." I tried to let her down easy. It was weird thinking of Carlisle in that way. For some reason, it felt like him and Esme were more like the parents from a black and white TV show from the 50's where nothing ever happened sex-wise between them.
"Oh well," Corin said, "Glad he's happy at least. He was not a fan of vampires when he was with us. I think he would have done anything to be human again."
"Well, he has a whole big family now, and they are all pretending to be human. The rest of them who are around my age keep going to high school over and over again for some reason."
"That's fucked up," Alec chimed in. "I'm probably younger age-wise than all of them, and there is no way in hell I would ever go to high school."
"Yeah, you don't have to tell me. I went through it once, more out of necessity than choice. If given the chance, I'd have jumped straight into college."
"So when do you plan on becoming a vampire?" Corin inquired. "You must realize how unusual it is for them to grant you this time as a human. I've never heard of it happening before."
"After I finish college," I responded. "I'm looking forward to it. I just want to reach that point where I can be seen as an adult in any career I might pursue once I'm immortal." I glanced over at Alec, who would remain forever youthful. "Sorry, Alec. I didn't mean it as a dig if you took offense."
"Don't worry about it," Alec reassured me. "I've come to terms with my situation and have found ways to navigate society. I don't have much involvement with the human world, and within the vampire world, I'm quite well known."
"Yeah, one half of the infamous 'witch twins,'" Corin smirked and playfully bumped Alec's shoulder, which made him smile. I was glad to see Alec could joke about his situation. Both Alec and Corin appeared quite easygoing, and I was excited about getting to know them better. Demetri was still holding my hand, so I squeezed it, and when he glanced at me, I smiled, conveying my happiness. His smile widened in response.
Time seemed to fly by as we all chatted in the car, and before we knew it, we had arrived in Florence. As we neared our destination and started driving through the city streets, I couldn't help but notice the distinct architectural differences between Italy and the US. I eagerly anticipated exploring Italy more in depth with Demetri later in the week.
Soon, we pulled up to 'Spirit Run,' which appeared to be a modern, large, two story building. Ahead of us, I spotted Heidi's car, and it seemed like we both had access to a private parking area under the club. Seeing the long line to get in, I couldn't help but think, 'How convenient.'
We stepped out of the car and approached the other group. Demetri greeted everyone with a smile. "Alright, everyone, ready to have some fun?" I was certainly ready and positioned myself next to Demetri. He placed his hand on my back, and together, we all made our way to a private entrance. I glanced at Santiago, who appeared relieved that Demetri was back to his usual self.
As we stepped into the club, the atmosphere was electric. The club blasted loud techno music, which was not exactly my taste, but with the right dance partner, I could see the appeal. We ascended a flight of stairs, leading to an enclosed VIP section with expansive glass windows. From up here, we had a clear view of the entire club and the bustling dance floor below. We all settled into our seats, and I noticed Felix signal for a waitress. Taking my place next to Demetri and Heidi, we placed our orders: seven bottles of what I presumed was blood and a coke for me.
"What, you're not going partake in the good stuff, Bella?" Felix teased with a smirk.
"Not yet, Felix," I replied with a smile. "Give me a few years, and I'll bet I'll be drinking you under the table."
Before Felix could offer a comeback, Chelsea chimed in, "Alright, Bella. We've all known each other for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. You're the new girl. Tell us some good stories."
Before I could respond, our drinks arrived. I waited for the waitress to depart, took a sip of my coke, and noticed everyone else taking long swigs from their bottles, then looking to me as the nights entertainment. After a brief pause, the perfect story popped into my head.
"Okay, I'm sure you'll like this one, and Demetri, you haven't heard it before either. Here's the story of when I got attacked by a werewolf with a grudge against vampires."
My story was interrupted by a very startled Demetri. "Werewolf! What the hell, Bella?" I quickly rubbed his arm to calm him down.
"Settle down. It all worked out fine in the end. Instead of killing the wolfman, I actually was able to charm him. I see I've got everyone's attention. The day started out normally enough when I decided to go for a run, as I wanted to jump off a giant cliff into the ocean…"
"Hours later, and everyone was laughing and talking. They were all on their fifth bottles of blood. I don't think they were drunk or anything, but they were all certainly more relaxed. I was having a good conversation with Heidi about motorcycles. She was explaining all the nuances of what makes a bike good. We were interrupted by a loud remark from Felix."
"So, Bella, Demetri here was just defending your honor. He says that you're fearless and will never back down from a challenge. I don't know. Is he just talking you up, or is it the truth?"
I gave Demetri a side-eye but then smiled at Felix. "It's the truth, but if I'm betting against a vampire, it has to be a fair bet where either of us could legitimately win. What were you thinking?"
Felix's grin widened as he proposed a challenge. "Alright, how about this one? This bottle is still half full. I bet you can't drink the whole thing and keep it down."
I pondered for a moment, contemplating the challenge before me. Drinking a bottle of blood? Not exactly appetizing. However, when I met Demetri's confident gaze, I felt a surge of determination. He believed in me, and I wasn't about to let him down.
"Alright," I replied with a sly grin, "what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If I win that bet, you have to eat an entire hamburger with all the fixings and a side of fries, and hold it down until every last bite is gone. Or is the big, strong vamp scared of a little human food?"
I knew from experience that none of the Cullens would ever take food bets with me other than Emmett. He'd never asked me to drink blood though. I looked at Felix and tried to appear confident. I noticed that Felix was looking a little nauseous himself, but he glanced at his friends around the table, and he must have felt the pressure to not back down.
"You're on. You won't be able to finish this bottle anyway. It's half a bottle, and I have to tell you, it's a really good batch. Nice and bloody. I'm sure you will love the taste and the feeling as the blood slowly coats your throat as you swallow it one gulp at a time. It's so thick. I'm glad they didn't water it down like last time we were here. It's just like drinking the real thing," he said, smiling as if his victory was assured.
"You're good," I replied with admiration. "Very good. But let's see if I'm better." I motioned for Felix to hand me the bottle. "Let's find out what makes you guys so happy." Felix passed me the bottle with a devious smirk. As I took it in hand, I couldn't help but notice that this sucker felt a lot fuller the just half a bottle. I locked eyes with Felix, and his grin widened even further. Oh, I would remember this. My gaze then shifted to Demetri, and I winked at him playfully. With the bottle held high, I looked around the table, meeting everyone's eyes before declaring, "Bottoms up."
I took a big swig from the bottle. Oh my god! This is horrible. I better like this shit when I'm a vampire, or I'm screwed. I swallowed the first gulp. Oh shit, I did feel the blood coating my throat as it went down. I shot a look at Felix, who wore a smug-ass smile, convinced of his impending victory. Fuck that! Determination surged within me, and I took another gulp. With the back of my hand, I wiped at my mouth. Oh, how pleasant; it came back smeared with blood. It took several minutes, but I held strong. As I swallowed the last drop, I slammed the empty bottle down, eliciting cheers from all the vampires at the table, except for Felix.
Felix wore a sad expression as I signaled for the waitress to come over so I could place Felix's meal order. She promptly approached us, her pad in hand to jot down any orders. "Do you guys need more drinks?" she inquired.
"Actually, I'd like to order a meal," I said with a grin, catching the waitress's attention. "Give me your best burger, but make it so well done that I'll have to chew it thoroughly before I can swallow. Really cook the shit out of it! Can you do that?"
"Of course. What toppings would you like on the burger?" the waitress inquired.
I glanced at Felix and flashed a grin. "I'd love a generous layer of melted cheese, please. There's something about its gooey goodness as it sticks to my teeth with every bite." I continued, "Top that off with some fresh lettuce, juicy tomato, a handful of onions, and a few crispy pickles. Oh, and let's not forget the zesty kick of mayonnaise!"
As I spoke, I couldn't help but tease Felix with a sly look and a playful wiggle of my eyebrows. "Just thinking about it is making my mouth water. And for the side, I'll take a full plate of those greasy, golden french fries."
I glanced around the table, teasingly I asked, "Oh, wait, does anyone else fancy a burger too?" However, it seemed no one shared my enthusiasm. "Alright then, that should be it. Thanks," I told the waitress as she headed off to bring Felix's culinary nightmare to life.
"You're evil," Felix commented, but his remark only made me laugh.
I smiled at him and retorted, "Says the guy who described the thick blood slowly running down my throat! I think it's safe to say we're both a little evil. But that blood better taste better when I'm a vamp though. That's all I have to say. If it tastes anything like the shit I just drank, you'll all regret ever hearing the name Bella Swan!"
Soon Felix's burger arrived, and the waitress placed it in front of me. The aroma was tantalizing, it was a shame it would go to waste, but a bet was a bet. After thanking the waitress, I said, "Here you go, Felix. Enjoy your meal. It actually looks like a really good burger."
I nudged the enormous plate of food toward the giant vampire and continued, "I'll even help you out and eat some of your fries. Maybe it will help get the taste of blood out of my mouth." I grabbed a handful of fries, and everyone watched with eager anticipation as Felix picked up the massive burger and took his first bite. The room was filled with the satisfying crunching sounds of each chew.
I exchanged a smile with Demetri, who winked at me, and I couldn't help but giggle. I looked over to Felix's wife. How heartwarming. Heidi had her phone out and was recording everything with a big smile on her face.
Felix did eat the entire burger but soon had to go to the bathroom as he said he didn't want to throw up right at the table. I was thankful for his thoughtful manners as I'm sure I would have thrown up all the blood if I had seen him heave first. I'm glad everyone seemed to have a good sense of humor and liked to have fun.
Heidi and I got along well, and I found out she possessed some sort of hypnotic power over humans, making them obedient to her every word. It was a little unnerving if you didn't have a power to resist her. Fortunately for me, it seemed her power had no effect on me. She mentioned it worked effectively on vampires too, so she was genuinely impressed when her influence had no sway over me. We all had a fantastic night, and soon enough, Demetri led me to the dance floor. We danced the night away among the unsuspecting humans.
By 4:00 am, the club was closing, and we all rose to depart. The ride back to the castle was pleasant. I leaned against Demetri's shoulder, and I might have nodded off because all too soon, we were back at the castle. As we all got out of the cars, I expressed my gratitude to everyone, saying I had a fantastic time, and they echoed similar sentiments. Demetri then escorted me to my room. At the door, I gave him a warm hug. "I had a great time tonight. I'm glad I got along with everyone else." As we embraced, I felt the unmistakable pressure of his hardness pressing into my stomach. I smiled; I was a little tired, but my own desire was chasing away any thoughts of sleep with every passing second.
I looked up at him and flashed a sultry gaze. "Would you like to come in?" I playfully inquired, running my finger down his chest.
"Do you really think there's a chance I would say no?" Demetri smirked. He effortlessly picked me up, and before I knew it, I was on my bed, with him standing in front of me. I smiled at the enticing sight before me. I scooted to the front of the bed and began working on his pants. Soon, his belt rested in the corner, and I swiftly pulled down both his pants and underwear in one fluid motion. Oh god, I wanted him. There were countless moments during the day when I just wanted to jump him, but we were always out in the open while he was giving me the tour. No way was I getting caught blowing him in public on my first day here.
I took his straining cock in my left hand and began stroking it back and forth. My gaze locked onto his as I slowly enveloped him in my mouth, taking as much as I felt comfortable with, then started a rhythm of bobbing my head. Soon, both of my hands were in action, jerking him off while my focus remained on his throbbing head. I sensed his hips beginning to move, a clear sign that he was getting close.
I pulled away for a brief moment, my voice dripping with sensuality. "You taste so fucking good," I purred. "Come on, let go. You must be really backed up from that constant hard-on I saw you having all day." With that, I sucked him back into my mouth, putting all my effort into it, attempting to create as much suction as possible. I heard Demetri gasp as he started cumming forcefully into my mouth, and I eagerly swallowed every drop as his hips finally ceased their flexing. Slowly, I began cleaning up his head with my tongue but I wasn't quite done for the night.
"Maybe one more round before I drift off to sleep," I playfully suggested. "But you'll have to help me out of these clothes. I'm so tired, I don't know if I can manage it myself." I feigned a yawn, stretching my arms wide as part of the act.
Demetri smirked, immediately shedding his clothing. Seeing him standing there, completely nude, was a breathtaking sight. His member, although not fully erect yet, held the promise of what was to come. He approached me, deftly unbuttoning my blouse and slipping it off my shoulders. I remained in my sexy red bra, and he used both hands to tease my nipples through the fabric, sending shivers of desire coursing through me.
As one hand rested on my stomach, I savored the cool sensation as it traveled upwards, eventually slipping beneath my bra to cup my right breast. Simultaneously, his other hand expertly unhooked the bra from the back, and it joined my blouse on a nearby chair. His lips descended on my breasts, lavishing attention on my hardened nipples, fueling my desire. Although I reveled in the exquisite foreplay, the urge for him to plunge into me grew almost painfully intense. I looked down at him, a smile playing on my lips as I noticed he was fully aroused once more. His rapid recovery never failed to impress.
With a seductive grin, I reclined on the bed, watching as he deftly removed my belt and then slowly lowered and discarded my skirt. Now, I was left in nothing but my panties.
I eagerly spread my legs wide, watching as he brought his face closer to me. With his skilled hand, he gently pulled my panties to the side, leaving me exposed and craving his touch. I observed, captivated, as he proceeded to explore my entire slit with his tongue, the sensation making me arch my hips, yearning for more pressure where it mattered most. He responded with a knowing smile before skillfully slipping my panties down my legs.
This was it, the moment I'd been craving. I spread my legs even wider, lifting myself on my elbows to get a better view. I had always loved the sight of him entering me. On his knees, he aligned our centers, positioning his hardened member right above my core, its weight tantalizingly resting on me. I gazed up at him, my desire unmistakable, and a grin played on his lips. With a subtle raise of my eyebrows, I silently urged him to get started, and he nodded in agreement.
I kept my eyes locked on his as he meticulously positioned himself and began the slow, delicious descent into my depths. The sensation of being completely filled was nothing short of intoxicating, and I reveled in the erotic sight of him buried deep inside me. I initiated a rhythmic movement of my hips, our bodies syncing in a passionate dance as we remained connected. Soon, he picked up the pace, thrusting vigorously, our bodies moving in tandem.
My excitement grew, with my climax approaching rapidly, and I pulled him closer for a passionate kiss. With almost supernatural speed, he intensified his thrusts, pounding into me with unrelenting vigor. The pleasure was so overwhelming that coherent thoughts became a distant memory. I wrapped my legs and arms tightly around him, holding on for dear life as he continued his relentless rhythm.
A primal scream escaped my lips as my climax consumed me. Simultaneously, I felt the cool rush of his own release inside me, and I clung to him even tighter. We remained connected, kissing and embracing, but fatigue was slowly taking over. "I'm drifting off. Just stay inside me for a moment until I'm out. Hopefully, I'll get a good, long sleep. Goodnight, Demetri. It truly was the perfect day."
And with that, I surrendered to sleep, my world blissfully fading away.
