The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 74
Derek stood there looking at her, had he just heard her say what it sounded like she said, did she just say that she's pregnant?", he said, "did you say pregnant?", she nodded her head yes. He wrapped his arms around her and said, "we're having a baby?", she said, "yes, I know that we haven't talked about having babies but", he silenced her by claiming her lips with his in a passionate kiss, now what they didn't know was that JJ and Emily were listening to everything.
They snuck away as to give the couple some time alone to celebrate the news that they were going to be parents, JJ sent a message to the team, minus Derek and Penelope of course, they wanted to throw the happy couple a surprise party. Fran smiled when she saw the message from JJ, she got her daughters to help her quickly throw a meal together for the family, they had to celebrate, they just had to celebrate the news that she was finally getting the grandchild that Derek had been promising her all of these years.
At the end of the day everybody was walking toward the elevator when they got a message from Fran asking them to come have a family dinner to which everybody happily agreed, once they were all together they could and would celebrate the news of the newest generation of Morgans being on the way
A little while later Derek and Penelope walked through the door at casa Rossi and headed through to the living room, they stopped in the doorway when they heard their family say, "congratulationsssssss", they looked up to see a banner that said, "welcome to the family baby Morgan".
Penelope said, "wait, how did you all know, I just found out earlier today?", JJ said, "wellllll Em and I overheard earlier today but we've noticed a few things that have changed with you over the past few weeks". Penelope said, "changes, what changes?", Emily said, "well you don't drink alcohol anymore", JJ said, "you can't stand the smell of coffee" and Fran said, "you haven't been feeling good and with the nausea welllllll we already had put two and two together and figured it out".
Derek said, "baby girl, momma is one of he best nurses ever sooooo, she's probably had this figured out weeks ago and just didn't want to say anything", Fran grinned and said, "guilty as charged, I'm sorry". Penelope hugged her and said, "don't be Fran, don't be, I'm just so happy right now, we're going to have a baby, who would have thought a few months ago that I'd be married to Derek and that we would be expecting our first child?", Fran grinned and said, "I was so afraid that today would never happen".
Dave said, "but it has, you're pregnant with your first child, our first grandchild and kitten I can guarantee that he or she is going to be spoiled rotten on every turn" to which everybody nodded their heads yes. When Penelope looked around the room at all of the smiling faces, she couldn't help but see couples hugged up together, Sarah and Anderson, Shane, Tasha Mia and Connor and Desi and Luke, the only person missing was James and his girlfriend Vanessa".
Fran said, "alright, who's hungry?", the two little boys who had been so quiet since Derek and Penelope arrived said, "meeeeeeeee", Penelope's hand slid down to her stomach and she said, "meeeeeee" causing everybody to laugh. Derek then intertwined fingers with his wife as they happily followed behind the others and made their way through to the dining room where they had an amazing dinner together as a family in celebration of the news of the newest family member.
After dinner Derek and Penelope were sitting on the couch cuddled together, he smiled as he put his hand on her stomach, he still couldn't believe it, he was going to be a father, his baby girl was pregnant with their first child. Penelope looked across the room at Sarah and Anderson and Desi and Luke, something was different about them, it was like they were all glowing with happiness, she then looked across the room and said, "alright, spill it you four".
They looked at each other and then around the room and Sarah and Desi said in unison, "we're getting married" and held up their left hands, the room was then filled with shouts of congratulations as the family congratulated the two happy couples. Fran said, "today is a great day, first we find out that we're going to have a grandchild to spoil rotten, now this, now I'm getting two son in laws, can this day get even better?", Penelope looked at Shane and smiled, he had told her that he'd fallin completely in love with Tasha so Penelope knew that soon they would be getting news of another wedding and she could hardly wait.
