The argument between the two Servants— one of whom had the head of a lion for reasons beyond Kazuha's understanding —mostly flew over the mentally-displaced man's head. He didn't know what they meant by AC and DC, just that they were disturbing the peace and it was up to Kazuha to settle it. How he was going to do that without understanding a single word they were saying was a mystery but hey, it would be that bad.
…Right?
All jokes aside, Kazuha could tell what the gist of the argument was— one was saying their thing was better than the other's and vice versa. He has heard of similar fights between players of Genius Invocation over whose cards were better. It was simply stupid in Kazuha's humble opinion; the game was meant to be for fun yet silly arguments over that sort of thing soured the mood for everyone.
Still, resolving the argument was difficult since the two were really passionate over their sides; that was rather admirable in a frustrating kind of way. The fact that everyone (or at least most was now aware Kazuha was not Ritsuka was also somewhat of an issue hampering the peace talks. That was not to say they hated him or anything. If anything, they sort of felt sorry for him being in this situation, at least with the few Servants he has met so far. But that meant as a complete outsider, Kazuha's words held little weight.
Yet, they still occasionally say "You agree with me, do you not?!" or some variation. Kazuha believed it was something they usually said to Ritsuka when he tried stopping their arguments and they said it out of habit.
In the end, the argument was finally settled by another outsider— "Alright, alright. That's enough you two," a young (looking) woman lightly chastised them which was enough to get them to stop. They were still shooting daggers at the other but at least they've stopped talking their heads off. After a brief staredown, both Servants scoffed and went off in opposite directions. "Sorry about that, Ma—sir" the third Servant apologised but caught herself before wrongly labelling Kazuha. "I'm usually around to intervene but I had several businesses to take care of today. That's why I needed someone to do so on my behalf. Sorry for imposing on you like that."
"That's quite alright. Considering the current predicament, the fault lies more on me for trying to play his role when I'm ill-suited for it," Kazuha played it off coolly but secretly sulked inside at failing with the peacekeeping task entrusted to him. "May I ask what they were arguing about?" With how passionate they were, it piqued his curiosity.
"Er… It's a bit complicated," the Servant lightly chuckled before correcting herself. "Well, to my knowledge, it's something most children would learn in secondary school but there are some concepts that require an understanding of other topics so… it can get confusing," she sighed to herself. "But to answer your question in the simplest terms, Tesla prefers a specific way electricity travels called AC while Edison prefers another called DC so they always argue over which method is better. Even when they were alive, they were feuding over it… along with other things."
"I… see…" He got the gist of it but the question was not really answered. Either way, Kazuha thanked the Servant for helping him out and went on his way.
There was nothing else for him to do as Mash should be in the command room dealing with the last few issues of the day that arose from his and Ritsuka's bodyswap, mainly completing tasks the latter was supposed to do. 'But after everything, I think I'm allowed to take a quick break…' As far as Kazuha knew, there was only one place that would give him the peace and quiet he wanted— Ritsuka's room. Everywhere else was usually occupied by one or five Servants; the cafeteria, simulator, and even that room labelled "Game Room" were incredibly loud as he walked past earlier.
After a couple of wrong turns, Kazuha arrived back in the plain white and grey cube that was Fujimaru Ritsuka's bedroom. It was deathly quiet, dark, and a bit cold but after getting injected with needles and then dealing with stubborn debaters, it was exactly what he needed. It was slightly difficult changing out of his clothes in the dark but he managed after a couple of minutes. "At least the mattress is comfy…" he mumbled as he got into bed. He loved his hammock but even he could enjoy the soft comfort such a bed brings.
"..."
And there was even a soft body pillow under the blanket that Kazuha was pretty sure was not there when he woke up that morning. If it was like last time, he should wake up back in his own body tomorrow. He just hoped Ritsuka was doing fine as we— wait a second…
"Uh… hello?" Kazuha hesitantly called out to which he got a timid response.
"Welcome back, Master… not, right?" The small voice replied from under the blanket.
"Ah, I apologise. I must have entered the wrong room," Kazuha said as his face heated up from embarrassment. "I'll be on my way now." He tried to get out of the bed when—
BANG! A panel in the ceiling fell out, making a loud crash as it hit the floor, and Kazuha could make out the silhouette of someone with long hair swinging their head out. "Stop right there!" A female voice shouted with an incredulous tone. "That may be Master's body but that does not mean we can let him do what he wants with us!"
"What?"
"I think there's a misunderstanding here…" the Servant under the blanket said but— BANG! —someone shot out from underneath the floorboards.
"Wait a minute! If he's trying to do something, we should lock him up, shouldn't we?!"
"What?!"
"Umm… you should run, mister."
Lastly, a third person suddenly stood up right next to the bed in front of Kazuha. The only way for them to appear like that was if they were hiding underneath the bed but that can't be right, right?! "I agree! If whoever this is who took Master's place is going to be a pervert, we should throw him into the brig and toss away the key!"
"Wait, what?!"
"Get him!"
"Hey, wai—!"
"Slowly… slowly…" Ritsuka told himself as he carefully walked across the steep rooftop of one of the shrines. It turned out the errand Guuji Yae had for him and Sayu, who was on another building, was to clean the rooftop of some grimy stains that wouldn't come off with normal water so it was up to them to do so with their "Anemo" powers… whatever that was.
He recognised the term from studying legends and myths related to Chaldea's Servants; it was the Greek term for wind if he remembered correctly. Recalling that Not-Artoria had the ability to control ice, Ritsuka came to the conclusion that the people here (or at least some) had the ability to harness the elements. Considering what he usually dealt with, it was not too out there in terms of believability but the issue arose of how was Ritsuka supposed to do so. He had little clue how he was supposed to use Kazuha's powers, let alone if he could in the first place.
"Kaedehara. Be quick; Sayu here is already done with her side," He heard the Guujin Yae loudly say from below. "It's only a single stain. It should not be taking you this long, you know?"
"Just give a second, please! I'm… trying to find it. It's too dark to see." Ritsuka shouted back with a shaky voice. His legs felt wobbly as the fear of slipping and falling off the roof filled his head. He was a bit used to being tossed around here and there but Kazuha's body might not. A good tumble could spell the end for him— crack —"Waaaah!"
The tile he was stepping on suddenly broke off and Ritsuka found himself sliding down the room. Before he knew it, he flew off the edge and crashed into the ground with a loud bang. "Ugh…" He groaned as he rapidly lost consciousness. Before he fully blacked out, he heard Guuji Yae's voice say something.
"—a dear and hel… to the estate. I need to sp…to."
"Yes…"
A/N: Took a while and sorry for that. IRL stuff had to take priority over writing stares at the backlog of stories to update and games to play. I hate myself…
Anyway, Kazuha gets thrown into the brig for being a pervert and Ritsuka gets a concussion for his troubles. Good thing they'll wake up back where they belong… right? What other shenanigans will happen? Wait and find out!
