Chapter 3
-
Backstage in the Hawkins High School auditorium, Trisha Vale was going over her lines. She was to be onstage for the one on one scenes with some volunteers. That volunteer was Steve Harrington, Trisha didn't quite like Steve, not that he was a bad person or anything. She just didn't like popular kids, normally they'd be snobby or stuck up.
Trisha had to kiss Steve for the scene, she planned to just kiss the corner of his mouth and not smack on the lips. She was saving that for someone else. Though it was bound that he'd take it the wrong way.
Trisha re-read her lines for the twelfth time. She was definitely going to rant to Johnathan after this. " Okay, Trisha? You ready?" Trisha was ready.. sort of.
" Yes, Mrs. Chefolski." Trisha put down her script and walked on stage. Steve was standing there holding the script in hand. " Alright, Harrington? You ready?" Steve put the script on the ground nodding his head.
Trisha waited for him to say his line, knowing full and well he didn't know it. " Ahem-" She cleared her throat, Steve jumped and cleared his too. " Jenny, I promise you, I love you with all my heart. Those other women mean nothing to me."
Trisha crossed her arms. " I don't believe you Ronald. You spew your lies to me, like bullets leaving the barrel of a gun." Trisha wiped a fake tear. " Your words hurt! My heart can't take it anymore. Leave me! Gather your things and flee." Steve moved to grab her shoulders. Trisha wasn't fond of physical touch. Especially by someone like Steve.
Trisha faced him. She had no idea how people found him hot. He tried too hard just to look 'perfect' for girls. Trisha hated people like that.
" Leave me before my heart breaks." Trisha felt his hand on her neck. She tried not to cringe. " I cannot leave Jenny.. my heart won't let me." Trisha leaned in to kiss the corner of his mouth. But alas, he did take it the wrong way and kissed her right on the lips. Trisha was shocked. But she had to remain in character.
After a few seconds they pulled away, turning to their teacher then bowing. They left on the opposite sides of the stage. " Hoky shit! Trisha, you just kissed Steve Harrington!" One of Trisha's classmates squealed out. Trisha grabbed a tissue and wiped her mouth. " It was terrible."
Trisha watched as her classmates face went from excitement to shock. " What?! How- how can a kiss from Steve be terrible??"
" He licked his lips before kissing me. I planned to kiss him on the corner if his mouth-" " Trisha your crazy.." " Yeah, I know. Thanks." Trisha walked out of the theater room and headed to her car. She thought she'd go home early.
" I can't believe- Ugh!!" Trisha slammed her car door and turned on the engine.
She drove towards Jonathan's house. She was still beyond pissed. Once she got to the Byers house, she knocked on Jonathan's window. The boy opened it. " Why are you here?" " I could ask the same for you." Trisha awkwardly climbed into his room, falling on the floor in the process. " Sorry- but I have so many things to tell you right now."
She moved over to his bed and fell face first into it.
" I had to kiss Steve today.."
Johnathan couldn't hear her because of the blankets. " Wait what?"
" Yeah!" She rolled over. " I can't believe that poser kissed me! On the lips to be exact- I almost puked."
Trisha made a gag noise and stuck her tongue out. Jonathan sat there trying to digest the information.
" Steve Harrington kissed you?" Trisha nodded. " I was saving my first kiss for someone else."
This peaked Johnathan's interests. " Who? If you don't mind me asking." Trisha almost fell for it. She was about to spew all her feelings of him, to him. She wasn't ready for it. Not yet.
" Nobody really.. just a silly crush."
" If you're so sure"

Trisha made it home later that night. Thinking about how the kiss went super wrong. She huffed and grabbed her phone, dialing Allison's number. " Pick up, come onnn" " Hello? Allison speaking." " Allieee, You won't believe what happened today"
" Let me guess, Steve kissed you during rehearsals?" " Well yeah! It was supposed to happen but I was aiming for the corner of his mouth! So I wouldn't actually kiss him. But of course, he thought he had to initiate it." Trisha groaned, flipping over on her stomach.
Allison was laughing on the other line. " You know it's funny how kissing my brother is gross." " Because it is! He's not even close to my type either!"
" I think you're over reacting Tris-" " No im not! He's ugh!"
Allison pulled the phone away from her ear due to Trisha's whining. " Tris, come on it wasn't that bad. I know if it was Byers it would've been bliss-" " Okay! Don't!"
"Is kissing Jonathan that embarrassing?" Trisha shook her head. " I can't see you shake you're head Tris.."
"It's not embarrassing- its just I can't think about him right now- I was saving my first lip on lip kiss for him, and you're stupid brother ruined it." Trisha shoved her face into her pillow. Her plans ruined.
" Okay well he is stupid, but I'm sure you can just not count it as a real first kiss. Right?"
" Yeah, I need my foot to pop for it to be real." " Wait- Pop? Like princesses in the movies?" " Yeah.." Allison made fake gagging noises " Ewww"
" Oh shut up"
