Chapter eight:

Kaoru gets finished getting ready. He plans to do this during school hours.

Hikaru is staying home from school himself.

Their parents already called the school just saying that they are sick so they won't be coming in.

Kaoru learned that during school hours is when the target is on her own the most. He isn't fully sure why that is though he won't argue since this should make it easier. He shifts his shirt over his silenced pistol that is in a secret holder in his pants.

"Be careful out there." Hikaru requests causing Kaoru to turn to him. He is sitting on his bed watching Kaoru.

Kaoru gives his brother a smile. "I will be." He promises then heads off getting into the limo and being driven to a location where he can walk the rest of the way. He sneaks into some bushes and peeks out at the mansion. "Okay. Lets do this." He whispers to himself and makes his way around the mansion's side. He hasn't seen any guards which does seem a little weird to him. Though he isn't going to be taking any chances just in case they are hiding in wait for an ambush. He leaps from one bush to another then he spots a vine that he can climb over the wall around the mansion. He starts climbing and stands on the top of the wall glancing around. He spots a few cameras though still no signs of any guards. He pulls out his silenced pistol carefully taking aim. He shoots out one camera then stays low waiting for any sort of response. He doesn't see any that confuses him though he shoots the other cameras. He climbs down a garden fence bit used to let plants grow on it once he knows that all of the cameras are taken out. He still keeps his hood up just in case. He walks slightly crouched and low to the ground. He gets to a window that is slightly open to let in some air. He pulls it open more and slides into the hallway that it leads to. He is by the kitchen where he can hear some staff working in there likely doing dishes or getting something ready. He heads down the hall keeping close to the wall and being wary of anyone coming up on him.

There is no sign of indoor cameras.

Kaoru still keeps his face hidden just in case they are hidden. He slows to a stop at a corner as he hears a voice just on the other side of the corner.

"Please see that it is done." A woman says to someone. "I really want him to be surprised when he comes back home."

"Of course." Another female's voice responds before hurried footsteps sound running away in the opposite direction of where Kaoru is.

The first female sighs. "Man I really hope that this will work out."

Kaoru peeks around the corner and he spots who looks to be his target. He brings up a picture of the target and confirms that it is her. He can tell from the side that is facing his direction though her eyes are not looking his way. He ducks back into hiding before he is spotted. His hand on his silenced pistol tightens a little as he prepares himself for this hit. He hears footsteps making their way towards his position alerting him to the fact that he needs to act fast. He leaps around the corner firing his silenced pistol hitting Fuyumi in the neck to stop her from screaming. He rushes forward catching her with one arm when she starts to fall backwards. He keeps her from seeing his eyes as best as he can. He carries her away placing her down on the floor of the room that he knows belongs to the one who is to find her. He takes aim at her while she lays there gurgling and her life vanishing. He shoots her right between the eyes and the life from her eyes vanish. He lets out a breath then turns away putting away his pistol. He leaves the room quietly closing the door with the do not touch sign on the doorknob. He hopes that this will keep the staff from finding her instead of the one intended to find her. He then heads to go for the window he entered from. He climbs the fence pausing once at the top of the fence. He looks back to the mansion with still no guards in sight.

Something doesn't feel right about this hit. It was much too easy. A bit too easy.

Kaoru stares at the mansion for a few moments just wanting some guard to show up but none do. He doesn't understand.

An Ootori mansion should be well guarded. Perhaps to the point of being overboard. Yet how can there not be a single guard in sight anywhere?

Kaoru wonders who had made the hit and he turns away as the evidence is all pointing to a possible answer.

No sign of guards when there should have been plenty crawling around the place, no one responds to the cameras being shot out of commission, and the request of the body being discovered by whoever else lives there.

This was an inside thing. Possibly another Ootori family member.

Kaoru knows that Kyouya's family is a bit strict and uptight as he has pointed out like a flex on them. He wonders if Fuyumi somehow disgraced the family name, or if maybe she was just caught up with another family member that did so. He wonders who it is that is meant to find her. He gets a sick feeling in his gut when he thinks of the possibility that it could be Kyouya. He shakes it off as surely this smaller mansion wouldn't be where Kyouya is staying. He doubts that Kyouya would want not that much space to himself, and not to mention to be living with another member of his family.

Kyouya may use this and that about his family like a flex on them if he deems it needed. He does actually hate his family and only those close to him knows this.

Kaoru climbs back down and heads to the meeting spot to get back home. He gets back and his parents don't look surprised to see him back so soon. He figures that they must know why this hit would end up being easier than a normal hit will be. He wants to ask them though before he can they pat each of his shoulders with one hand with his mother on his right and his father on his left. He can tell that it is a good job pat. He then turns to watch them walk away after this. So he leaves it alone and he heads to find Hikaru who is in the room playing a game.

Hikaru looks up in surprise at seeing Kaoru back. "You're back." He greets his brother putting his game aside as the other plops down next to him. "That was rather quick compared to what training missions make it out to be."

"Yeah. It turned out a lot easier than I could have expected." Kaoru admits letting out a breath before turning to his brother a little worried. "There wasn't even any guards around."

"Huh?" Hikaru blinks in confusion at hearing this. "No guards? That's weird considering the family we are talking about."

Kaoru nods his head. "I think that it was someone in the family that ordered the hit."

Hikaru's eyes widen at hearing this. "What!? But who would want one of their own kin dead!?"

"I wish I knew." Kaoru glances away then is pulled into a hug by Hikaru.

"Well what is done is done. Let us just move on and forget about it. It would be what our parents would want us to do." Hikaru suggests to which Kaoru nods his head since they can't change the fact that Fuyumi Ootori-Shidou is dead.

The two hang out in the room the rest of the day relaxing with some video games. Neither of them realizing the events that Kaoru has just set into motion.
