Ruby and Roman were staring at the Curious Cat who had possessed Neo and controlled her body.
Cat: What's wrong? Can't fight your lover?
Ruby was already on the verge of tears, that comment made it worse. Umbrella in hand, Ruby learned how to make the blade pop out the top. She did so and charged at the Cat in blind Rage and Hatred. Tears in her eyes would fly off her face as she swung, punched and kicked at her opponent. The Cat was getting damaged seriously bad, he thought quickly and decided to play a trick on Ruby. Just as Ruby was about to strike again, the cat mad Neo's eyes go back to normal using Neo's illusion ability. Ruby looked at the eyes, thinking the cat left and immediately tried to halt her attack, but the eyes changed back to light blue. NeoCat hit Ruby hard enough to make her bounce off the roof and onto the floor.
Cat: Pity really, I thought that you would be stronger than that, oh well.
A bright red shot went right beside NeoCat's head. Torchwick was still in the fight unlike Ruby, NeoCat shattered to glass and reappeared behind Roman, knocking him down. NeoCat made his claws much sharper and proceeded to prepare to kill the two.
Cat: Just because the person who owns this body likes you Ruby, you'll be the first to DIE!
Just as NeoCat was about to stab Ruby, a shot of fire surrounded him, causing him to jump back. Yang, Blake, Weiss and Emerald had arrived to the scene. NeoCat broke through the ceiling and left, Leaving the WBY part of Team RWBY and Emerald to help Ruby up.
Yang: Sis, you alright?
Ruby: I've been better to be honest…
Roman: I'm fine too thanks for asking.
Everyone turned to Roman who had gotten up on his own using his cane.
Weiss: Isn't he supposed to be…
Roman: Dead? Yep! Welcome to hell everyone, Ice Queen.
Weiss: Hey!
Blake: This is hell?
Roman: Well, it really depends on how you view the place. In my case, there are things trying to kill me constantly, mainly the Cat. So… I'd say that Karma has given me more than I needed.
Yang: Why not just return?
Emerald: If it's even possible.
Roman: Well… there is a way out but… I kinda assumed Neo died after Beacon so I stayed, waiting to find her here.
Ruby: Who is the Cat?
Roman: Well, his creator left him here to go to Remnant. All he wants is revenge, and the only way for him to leave here is through someone else. He originally chose you Ruby to go, but after I stopped him, he must have gotten Neo instead.
Emerald: I was there when it happened, I saw it happen.
Ruby: How can we win?
Roman: There isn't a way to hurt the cat without hurting Neo, we have to get him out of Neo before attacking him. But even if we could, we don't know where he is, or where he's going.
?: I might have an idea.
Everyone turned to see the one person they've been missing the whole time. Only thing was that he looked a lot… older?
Ruby: Jaune!
Blake: How did you find us?
Yang: And when did you get so…
Weiss: Mature.
Weiss instantly blushed after saying that.
Jaune: I don't know how but… I touched a plant with a clock on it, it reversed time, so I've been her for about… 5-ish years maybe?
Roman: Ah kid, good to see you again.
Jaune: Same here Roman.
Ruby: You've met?
Roman: Well, Jaune went back in time, so eventually, when my time came, I joined him here. He was the only actual person I could talk to here.
Emerald: Right, so where is Neo-cat going then?
Jaune: The tree, there lies the exit to this place, only problem is we don't have a lot of time.
Ruby: Well, I have speed, I could use it to bring you guys with me, but it would drain my aura a lot.
Jaune: I can supply you with some, I haven't used my semblance in a while but I believe I can do it.
Weiss: Worth a shot.
Ruby sped all through the Ever-After, eventually arriving at the tree. Though it seemed as if nobody enjoyed the ride.
Roman: NEVER AGAIN.
Yang: For once I think I agree with a criminal.
Ruby: Was it that bad?
Everyone except Ruby: YES!
Ruby: Oh… ok…
Cat: Took you long enough.
The group turned around to find the Cat standing in front of a glowing doorway. He looked tired and mad.
Cat: This body seems to refuse going through the door without Ruby, so I need her currently.
Ruby: Forget it and let her go.
Cat: Why should I do that?
Ruby: We have a common enemy. The one who ditched you here is the same one that killed us.
Cat: You've met him I see. What does he go by these days?
Ruby: What do you mean?
Cat: He had many names, which one does he have now?
Ruby: Chris, I saw his face right before I blacked out, the last thing I remembered before waking up here.
Cat: THEN YOU WILL LEAD ME RIGHT TO HIM, PURR-FECT!
Neo-cat charged for Ruby. Ruby used her semblance to speed away just as Roman shot his cane at the cat. Neo-cat jumped back and dodged an incoming punch from Yang. Blake charged with ice spikes behind her from Weiss as covering fire. However the cat enlarged his arms and blocked the ice spikes and knocking Blake down in the process.
Roman: As long as he has Neo's abilities we may not stand much of a chance.
Ruby: Burn the leaves!
Everyone began to burn the leaves. The smoke was rainbow coloured, and toxic to whoever was inside it. Once the smoke settled, Neo was on the floor out cold and the cat was in his real form, coughing from the smoke.
Cat: You think that's gonna stop me? YOU'RE WRONG! I WON'T STOP UNTIL I REACH REMNANT!
Ruby sped behind the cat and slashing him with her scythe, causing the big cat to fall in his knees. The cat shrunk back down to his original size as everyone walked towards Neo and the exit.
Cat: Where do you think you're going?
Ruby: We're going to Remnant, and you're staying here.
The cat jumped over them and stood at the exit.
Cat: THEN I WILL JUST STAY HERE AND BLOCK YOUR PATH. IF I CAN'T GO THROUGH, THEN NOBODY CAN!
Something could be heard through the portal. The cat turned around and saw a shadow through the portal, he ignored it and turned back to the group.
Cat: YOU WILL NOT EVER LEAVE THIS REALM, YOU HEAR ME? I SAID, YOU. WON'T. LEAVE. THIS. REAL-AAAAAAAGH
The shadow in the portal was not of a person but rather a Grimm with tentacles. The Grimm grabbed the cat and pulled him through, all that could be heard is the Cat's screams and sounds of him being ripped limb from limb by a horde of hungry Grimm. The group watched and listened horrified by the events that were unfolding through the portal. Ruby eventually got distracted by the sounds of someone grunting behind them. Everyone turned around to see Neo waking up in a cold sweat.
Ruby: Neo!
Ruby tackled Neo to the ground hugging her tightly and cutting of her air supply.
Neo: Ruby… can't…breathe…
Ruby let go of Neo enough to let her breathe.
Ruby: I'm sorry Neo, are you alright? Are you hurt? Am I asking too many questions?
Neo: Yes, no and yes.
Neo looked behind Ruby and saw the rest of the group. Roman was hiding behind the group, unsure on how to present himself to Neo after what happened. He lost his train of thought when Yang pushed him to the front, revealing himself to Neo who's jaw visibly dropped.
Roman: Hey Neo, it's been a while huh?
Neo: Roman?
Neo instantly got up and rushed to hug Roman, tears rushing down her face like waterfalls. Roman chuckled as he hugged her back. Neo had hugged him for about a minute until she let go and simply stated with a smirk on her face.
Neo: You died because you were swallowed by a Grimm.
Neo burst out laughing as did the rest of the group except for Roman who had facepalmed.
Roman: I'm never gonna hear the end of this am I?
Neo: Nope!
Ruby: Well, now we can head back to Remnant!
Roman: About that…
Neo: What is it?
Roman: I'm not so sure I should go back to Remnant.
Yang: Why not?
Roman: Firstly, the minute people find out I'm back, they will call the cops on sight of me. Two, I don't feel like I'd belong there anymore.
Ruby: But… What about Neo?
Neo: Yeah, what about me?
Roman: Seeing you again was the best thing that had happened to me in a long time. And now, you're doing fine with Ruby.
Ruby: Roman, I would like you to come with us.
Roman: Why do you care?
Ruby: Because of what I told you.
Roman froze in place, everyone else just stood confused. Ruby turned to Neo, with a hand in her pocket.
Ruby: Neo, me and you have ventured far both through Remnant and through our relationship, nobody can take that away from us, not even Chris.
Neo: Ruby, what are you saying?
Ruby: When I found Roman, I asked him for his blessing.
Neo: Blessing for what?
Ruby finally pulled her hand out of her pocket and now held a small box.
Ruby: Neo, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want us to be more than just a relationship.
Neo was now on the verge of tears as she finally realised what Ruby was saying.
Ruby: Neopolitan Vanille, will you marry me?
Yang, Blake, Weiss and Jaune were in shock. Emerald and Roman smiled at the sight of this. Neo was at a loss for words. The ring was gold with a gem at the top, however the Gem was three colours: pink, brown and Red, split into thirds.
Neo: I…I… YES! I will marry you Ruby Rose!
Neo burst into tears along with Ruby and most of the others. Ruby took the ring from the box and put it on Neo's ring finger, then she pulled out another exact same ring and placed it on her own ring finger. The couple kissed and hugged each other as everyone stood back and watched them. Ruby finally looked at Roman.
Ruby: Roman, I want you to come back with us to Remnant and not only clear your name by helping us save the world, but to attend our wedding.
Roman: Well Red, when you put it like that, then of course I will come back with you.
The group looked at the portal and then proceeded to walk through it, ready to reenter Remnant.
Ruby came out of the portal to what she hoped for something good but instead was something bad, really bad. The sky city of Atlas was now what looked to be a giant ship for war, probably meant for the other kingdoms. The rest of her team came out of the portal and stared in horror at what had happened. They were eventually broken free from their train of thought as they heard a familiar voice calling out to them.
?: GUYS!
Inside Atlas
Chris sat atop his throne, holding his weapon of mass destruction. His shadow army had reached its full potential as he now had control over the shadows and Grimm, Salem may have been dead, but the Grimm are forever, no matter if she's alive or permanently dead. He suddenly heard the voice of one of his commander shadows, General Obyron.
Obyron: Sir, I have some good news and some bad news.
Chris: Go ahead.
Obyron: Good news is Atlas is ready to charge for Vacuo and so are the troops.
Chris: And the bad news?
Obyron: Reports show that… 8 people came through a portal outside the border of Mantle…
Chris: So what?
Obyron: Sir… Ruby and her team are the ones who came out that portal…
Chris: …
Obyron: Sir?
Chris: Leave me.
Obyron left as Chris grabbed his staff, he used the creation part of it to create a new Grimm, and then the destruction part of it to attack it out of anger. He then proceeded to get his intercom speaker.
Chris: Attention to all available personnel, Ruby and her team have returned, if you see them, kill them at whatever cost it takes, I can't have them erase my progress!
