CHAPTER 30
Team 8 was focused as Hinata led them through the forest towards the Sabaku siblings. They were getting close to the siblings when Hinata whispered, "We are being followed."
"How many?" Shino asks.
"Eight."
"Chakra levels?" Naruto follows up.
"Four are low chunin, two high chunin, and two mid jonin."
"Shit." Naruto immediately stopped and began unsealing a few scrolls and some ink from his forearm; he then proceeded to write out multiple seals.
"What are you doing Naruto? They are catching up!" Hinata questioned.
Still writing the seals, Naruto asks, "How close are they?"
"One kilometer, and closing in. Maybe 5 minutes out."
Naruto nodded, "Good just enough time to set up the seals."
Standing up, Naruto produced a few clones and distributed his seals between them. After receiving their seals the clones immediately ran into the forest.
"We can keep going now." Naruto stated as he turned towards his teammates.
Returning to their formation Team 8 continued into the forest, but not getting too far Shino asked, "What was the purpose of those seals?"
"About a dozen restrainment seals and a few advanced explosion seals. We should hear some explosions by the time we reach the Sabaku siblings."
-earlier with a Naruto clone-
Walking up the side of the building Naruto finally made it to the roof of the Kage Booth and found himself staring at a huge purple barrier. Looking to the side he saw dozens of ANBU circling the barrier and attempting to penetrate it without success. Sitting down he unsealed a huge blank sealing scroll and a chakra pen and began to draw. He was about a minute in when a few ANBU walked up to him and barrage him with questions.
"What are you doing here kid? You should be with your jonin-sensei."
Disregarding the question Naruto continued to draw the seal and asked, "Have you successfully penetrated the Shishienjin Barrier?"
Slightly irritated, the ANBU barked, "Get out of here kid. Go rescue the civilians, we have this handled."
"I'm taking your answer as a no so I'm going to keep drawing this seal so your ANBU can get into the barrier. The only way to take down the barrier is to disrupt or distract one of the four corners. Luckily there are people sustaining the barrier instead of seals, much easier to distract. Do you want the seal I'm drawing to get in or not?"
The ANBU looked at each other before turning back to Naruto, "What do you need us to do?"
Almost done with the seal Naruto says, "I'm just a clone so I cannot help you beyond getting you into the barrier. My seal will open a 2 meter by 2 meter hole in the barrier for 15 seconds. Get as many ANBU through that hole as possible to help the Hokage. If you take down one of the people in the corner the whole barrier will come down, I'll let you decide if that's a good thing."
Naruto had just finished his seal when he heard an ANBU shout, "Is that the Shodaime and Nidaime Hokage?" (First and Second Hokage)
Looking up from his seal Naruto watched as the first two Hokage emerged from two coffins. The first being a tanned brown haired man wearing a black sweatsuit being protected by red full body armor, this was Senju Hashirama.
Standing next to him was his brother Senju Tobirama. He had white hair, three red markings on his face and a gray headset. He wore the same black sweatsuit but it was instead protected by a blue body armor with white fur around the shoulders.
A third coffin was slowly rising from the ground but Hiruzen threw a kunai to prevent its summoning. There was an inaudible conversation between the three Hokage before Orochimaru placed a kunai with a seal attached into the necks of the summoned Hokage. Suddenly the first two Hokage began to attack the third.
"Shit." Naruto whispered. Tearing the completed seal off of the scroll he began to draw a few smaller seals.
One of the ANBU turned back to Naruto asking, "We have to get in there! How much more time do you need?"
"The seal is done. I'm drawing a few more so you can help out more."
One of the newer ANBU recruits was quite offended, "You calling us useless?"
"Obviously not. But I figure a few seals that when applied makes it feel like you're moving through solid cement should help."
"Oh."
Finishing the seals Naruto stood up and handed the seals to the Anbu, "Just place these on your target and then activate it with chakra and they should freeze up. If not, attach another one because the effects stack up. Now gather up. I'm about to open the barrier for 15 seconds."
One of the ANBU whistled and the rest of the ANBU gathered, totaling 16, and having just arrived one of them asked, "What's the kid doing here?"
Before one of the head ANBU responded, Naruto spoke up, "Giving you 15 seconds to get through that barrier. Now get ready ."
Walking towards the purple barrier Naruto flattened out the large seal then pressed the paper to the barrier. The paper was instantly incinerated but the black lines remained on the barrier and began to glow white, and spread out into a square.
Stepping back Naruto announced, "It opens in 3…2…1…NOW!"
Just as Naruto shouted, the purple barrier within the white lines shattered and disappeared. Not waiting a moment the ANBU charged through and just as the last one ran through the open barrier the white lines faded away and the barrier patched the open hole.
The Naruto clone smiled at his job well done when he heard an explosion off in the distance. With a flood of new memories the clone's smile widened, "So their job finished too."
With a hand sign the clone poofed away to relay his completed task to his created.
-within the barrier-
Hiruzen panted heavily as he avoided the jutsu being thrown at him by his sensei.
'Thank Kami they weren't summoned at full strength. I would have lost already if they were,' he thought as he used an earth barricade to block the Nidaime's water jutsu. He was quickly forced to run as the Shodaime used his prized kekkei genkai, "Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kotan!" (Secret Wood Style: Nativity of a World of Trees)
As Hashirama slammed his palms to the ground, trees began to spawn and quickly grow towards Hiruzen, as if it was a charging bull. The Nidaime charged and seemingly rode this wave of trees as he ran towards his former pupil. Unsheathing his sword the Nidaime was about to cut down the Sandaime when he was suddenly blown away into a nearby tree that the Shodaime had grow. Both Hiruzen and the watching Orochimaru were surprised as the Nidaime tried to climb out of the hole he created when he was suddenly charged by five ANBU.
At his peak the Nidaime would have effortlessly dispatched all of the ANBU but being summoned by Orochimaru he was in a severely weakened state. Still he was the Nidaime Hokage, so with pure skill he managed to fend off all of the attacks of the ANBU, but as one more jumped into the fray, he was overpowered by the collective efforts of six ANBU. One managed to land a single blow, a slap across his face, confusing the Orochimaru and the Sandaime, but as the ANBU made a hand sign the Hokage immediately froze.
Orochimaru was confused on why one of his puppets could no longer move but regardless he prepared himself for a battle. Suddenly 6 more ANBU jumped down to surround the Shodaime and repeated the process until the Shodaime remained unmoving.
Enraged, Orochimaru asked, "How did you get through the barrier?!? I can see that it is still up!"
"For us to know, and you to never find out," one of the ANBU responded.
'Damnit. The whole purpose of the barrier was to isolate sensei so could kill him,' Orochimaru thought, 'That is no longer possible, therefore I must escape.'
Orochimaru immediately began to go through hand signs to return the reanimated Hokages to their coffins but before he could finish Hiruzen charged his student. Orochimaru tried to jump out of the way and continue the hand signs but with a swing of Hiruzen's staff aimed towards his arms, he was forced to stop.
"Separate the Hokages from the coffins, we must find a way to permanently seal them away! The rest of you, with me."
Immediately the ANBU jumped into action, each Hokage receiving 4 ANBU.
Grabbing ninja some ninja wire, two of the teams bind the revived Hokage tight and carry them away. The four that ran to help Hiruzen surrounded Orochimaru.
'Damnit!' Orochimaru thought, then shouted,"Take down the barrier! We have to run!"
Within seconds the purple barrier seemed to collapse. Figures emerged from each corner but as the four people came into view, they collapsed to the ground. All four people wore the same outfit of black pants covered with a gray tunic, all tied together with a purple rope around the waist and a bow and huge knot on the back of his head above the ear. The first was a tanned fat man with three tufts of orange hair, one on the top of his head and one on each side. The second was a skinny man that was very tanned and weirdly had six arms. The third was a teen girl with rose red hair and the last was a skinny pale man who seemed to have a large bulge coming out between his shoulder blades, almost as big as a head.
Immediately ANBU emerged from the forest behind Orochimaru's subordinates and quickly restrained them. Realizing the very perilous situation he was in, Orochimaru waited no longer. He shunshined away leaving no trace.
"What are your order's Hokage-sama?" The remaining ANBU asked.
"Let him go. I am too tired to fight him, and you all are no match. Evacuate any remaining civilians, then decimate all invaders."
"Hai!" The ANBU dispersed into the village.
As Hiruzen looked down into the Stadium, he saw konoha jonin and chunin fighting off invaders as their genin and tons of Naruto clones evacuated the last of the civilians. Not wasting another moment Hiruzen jumped into the chaos to end the invasion.
