Lisa's two remaining SUVs rolled into the new place around noon… just after. No longer sleek, they looked like something off a doomsday movie set or something.

She waited as they scoped it out, after the last boom she was on edge, not trusting Ianto and Toshiko not to have placed booby traps on all the places they knew of. Once the sweep was done and the all clear given, she nodded to her Hawaiian Shirt Dude to get her bags, walking inside to head for the fireplace. Lisa loved these.

It was not lost on he that each house she was choosing to stay in had been one she and Ianto had been in, each fireplace open and huge, their lovemaking in front of it once upon a time a mere memory but … such memories.

She did regret turning on him, he was the best fuck she had ever had and only her lust for moment exceeded her lust for him. Shame she did not love him, but truth be told, Lisa would never admit it, she loves no one. Never had. A true sociopath, she only cared about herself.

"Want it lit boss?"

"Yes" she turned and accepted the briefcase in his hand placing it on the nearby piano lid, then removing the tablet she had placed within the led lining of the case.

Settling in a chair she opened it and began to type.

.

.

"Fuck" Toshiko said so softly that it was almost not heard "She's on."

Ianto walked over, glancing outside where he saw men fawning over a little girl like she was a queen, her glee shoeing that she did not mind it one bit. "So it's working?"

"I set the house's defences to show them on whenever they are off and vice versa. Who would have thought it would be so easy to simply reverse the lighting display order. Her fuckwits look at the alarm board, see red or green. Absolutely no idea I simply switched the wires. It is the easiest thing I have ever done and" Toshiko laughed. "I did not think they would be that thick. To be frank with you…it feels a little… cheap."

"Never mind, I think it was genius Frank me old mate" Ianto replied, patting her shoulder as she giggled at his playfulness. They watched the screen as the CCTV showed the movement of everyone in the house.

"So, what now?"

"Now I take a walk on me own and consider things" Ianto sighed, rising from his chair to wander off.

Toshiko glanced after him, knowing what that meant and hoping this was all going to turn out OK.

Ianto deserved his peace and quiet, worked hard for it and earned it this had all been so unfair.

But for that man and his child Ianto would go to war once again.

And he had not grown rusty.

Oh no, he had time to sharpen his claws it seems.

Toshiko went back to watching the household of fuckwits.

"Ianto?" she called after him "What do you call a group of fuckwits?"

"I don't know" came the faint reply as he headed out the door "An Orgy?"

She giggled as she nodded her agreement.

They did seem to enjoy fucking each other over at least.

Ianto was on the phone, Jack waiting to approach as he watched Ianto's free hand flick around his face showing that whoever he was taking to with the animated method of speaking meant it was someone he knew well, his posture relaxed and one of calm.

After Ianto closed out the call he turned to look at Jack and motioned him over "Hey."

"Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt" Jack admitted. "Everything OK?"

"Yeah, remember what I said about you and Ali?" Ianto softly said as he reached for Jack's' hand to snag it and squeeze "It's now."

"What?"

"Tonight is the last night we have to do this, the last night you have to hide away with me" Ianto assured him "Come this time tomorrow… it will all be over."

"And you… you will be safe?"

"Oh Jack, I will be fine. Look… I know it has been stressful and frightening, my wound has scared you but… tonight will be different. Offence… not defence." Ianto assured him "I have the higher ground; she will not have the chance to hurt me. Not ever again."

"I love you" Jack pulled him in for a kids "The thought of anything happening to you…"

"Hey. No jinxing" Ianto scolded gently, the kiss soft but also firm "we are Teflon, remember? You and me? Invincible."

"Immortal" Jack croaked out as he fought his emotions.

"Yeah… destined to be two old farts on a veranda in matching rocking chairs with guns hidden under our blankets while we argue about whose turn it is to make some toast over the open fire" Ianto leaned back and kissed him again "I will come back to you."

Jack believed him.

It had bene an uneventful day of chasing their tails and Lisa was getting sick of it. They had come close, really close and it burned her arse that the trail was still several days old, stale.

She sighed as she stood looking at the fire, then she turned to pour her whiskey once more.

In the distance there was a boom of thunder rand she paused not knowing there would be a storm tonight. She looked out the window for the flash but it didn't come, instead another faint boom rolled in the distance.

Must be coming from the other direction.

She turned to see a foot peeking from around the arm of the chair, her amusement now thrumming as she sighed at the black toes, the polished leather of a well kept boot.

"Johnty, you know this sneaking in thing you do is so damned annoying. You are like a cat burglar, everyone is so used to you doing it that they don't even seem to notice anymore" she said as she swirled the glass enjoying the clink of ice. She walked over the fireplace and bent over to stare at it; this time sure he must have banked the fire now burning brightly. "You know... it is like you are a blood wraith. It is just… annoying to find someone popping up like Pennywize the clown."

"It is, isn't it" came a soft singsong voice that had her freezing as she slowly turned to gape at the chair and the man sitting in it, no mistaking those Welsh tones "He is such a free sprit that one."

"Ianto!"
