Odo wasn't really that bothered about the Promenade incident. He was slightly miffed a little annoyed but mostly amused, much to his surprise.

"So what is this special surprise you have in store for me?".

"You'll see, just wait. Computer initiate Klingon Program 492."

Taya found herself in the midst of a cave with crude archways carved into the harsh rock.

"Klingons. That's the surprise?

You want to give me Klingons?"

"No, here take this".

A Batleth fell into his hand and he threw it to her and her reflexes shot up just in time to catch it.

Another Batleth appeared this time materializing in his hands.

"Now fight me".

"Fight you?

I don't want to fight you."

Odo growled but it wasn't the usual growl, it was a gutteral battle growl that almost made her lose her footing as she blocked his blade from hitting the top of her forearm.

"I thought this was just a test.

Now you want me to kill you.

I'm terribly confused".

"Allow me to illustrate, Taya, this is combat, the combat you were trained for and it may be exactly the kind of combat you'll need if you decide to become one of my deputies.

I don't want for you to kill me, Taya but I'd sure love to see you try.

It's a feat that few have succeeded in.

So do your worst!"

"So you don't want me that kill you but want me to try.

Okay, this is getting weird.

I don't think I can do this right now".

"Oh you will.

Would it help if I illustrated a clearer picture for you."

Odo's form began to ripple, his face became far darker and large masculine ridges protruded from the forehead.

There was long brown hair that sprouted from his head and his whole attire shifted to black and grey.

The heavy leathery black tunic, the gray plaited vest with protective shoulder pads and the black trousers.

This was the attire of a Military Klingon Sergeant.

This was enough motivation for Taya to take this training session seriously and she actually began to fight him.

She was mostly doing a lot of blocking and dodging.

He grunted and shoved her against the cave wall, he was about to strike her right in the face with both blades heading straight for her eyes but she gripped onto the handle and allowed the batleth itself to absorb most of the damage, however since she was so close to the cave wall, the blow rammed her arms elbows and back further against the wall.

Although the blow broke no bones it made her cry out in pain.

"Good you defend yourself well but blocking an opponent should only be used when you want to exhaust the enemy.

The trick is learning just the Right moment to attack.

Attack Me!

Don't hold back!

Make me taste your Blade!"

She had to admit that the Odo did a pretty decent Klingon impression.

"I would if ...I could...just move my blade".

Odo still had her blade in a immovable lock.

She dropped and then rolled past Odo and then positioned herself appropriately 8 feet away from him, her Batleth at the ready.

They struck blades again.

She decided to take a chance and hold the batleth with one hand, she then struck out her arm, but she did a small sidestep so that tbe blade closest to him, tore through his left cheek.

There was a tiny trickle of blood.

Taya was mortified, she hadn't meant to hurt him yet he had demanded it.

She had to Sit down and rest, possibly forget that she had ever done this in the first place.

"You took a risk. That was a risky move you made there.

I could have done 1 of 3 things in that situation.

I could have apprehended that side step and then slid my blade into your abdomen, I could have also attacked any other part of your anatomy that was left wide open after you took ahold of your weapon with only one hand or I could have ignored your little sidestep move and kept going just like I did.

Other than that you did quite well, you were hesitant at first but your reflexes were exceptional.

I would recommend you use a little less defense next time.

Trust me it's less painful".

"Next time. I thought we were done."

"We are...with your training, yet I really think you'd benefit with some extra training on the side.

It can't hurt to be more prepared.

Believe me security is full of the unexpected, that's why I'm so suspicious of everyone and of everything on this station.

One single sidestep is all it takes to catch someone off guard and it's one single lost detail that can make this station fall to absolute chaos."

"I'll keep that in mind.

So have I passed? Am I done now?"

"You are done... for now and yes you passed with flying colors.

You will be awarded a Bajoran ensign badge tomorrow, there will be a small ceremony which I hope everyone on staff will attend. Now you may, if you wish, take the rest of the day off.

Rest is important...afterall I havd been working you very hard over the past 4 weeks.

You deserve a break.

Now go, run along Ensign."

Odo smiled thoughtfully as she exited through the holodeck doors.

Taya's Arm ached furiously, her back felt crushed and her legs felt as if they had beaten with baseball bats.

Taya decided to drop by Sickbay to see Bashir, to chat with him and hopefully to check if she broke any bones.

"Good Afternoon, Taya.

What brings to sickbay today?"

Bashir was obviously pleased to see her but then again he was always pleased to see a attractive female.

"I think I may have a few injuries but I'm not sure.

It's probably nothing that serious but I just wanted to double check".

"Well you can't be too careful when it comes to one's health.

Thankfully you got me at just the right time.

Sick bay isn't very busy this time of day.

So I can conduct a medical examination right away, that is if you want to.

No pressure or anything of course.

So what seems to be giving you the most trouble?"

Bashir gave her a inquisitive look.

"I think my back is the main issue."

"You have quite a few bruises on your arms I've noticed.

You might want those taken care of as well".

"I suppose so yes."

"A little bit of hypospray will clear up those bruises in no time.

Now about your back, I hope you don't mind but you may have to remove your uniform for that, just medical purposes mind you.

I'll be completely professional".

"I understand."

Taya removed her uniform and to Bashir's surprise she wore baggy tighty whities and a bandaged wrap that tightly bound around her chest.

"I hope this isn't too impertinent for me to ask but what's with the wrap?"

"It's a long story".

"Well luckily for you I love long stories."

"Oh where should I start?

I know, I was stationed on Cardassia, I was no more than 17 years old, I was still living under the rule of Madred.

I despised and hated him, yet I was given something special that day.

Gul Madred had decided to present me with a Klingon Teacher, he was a retired warrior but he taught me the ways of Batleth and the ways of many other Klingon weapons as well.

He trained me how to use my fists and my wits to bring down an opponent".

"Klingon Martial arts?"

Bashir asked with his eyes wide with fascination.

"Yes I was taught Klingon Martial Arts. My Teacher told me it would be best to wear a wrap while I was fighting, to protect myself from certain blows and also it gave me proper support for my back and shoulders.

It was uncomfortable at first but I've since grown use to it.

It is a cloth wrap so everyday I would wash this by hand.

It has served me well even after all these years".

"That is a most riveting story.

You surprise me Everytime you come in those sick bay doors.

How is the training going by the way?"

"I'm finished with it, Odo tells me I passed with flying colors.

There should be a awarding ceremony tommorow.

I'll get my badge as Ensign and everything."

"You must be very proud.

I knew you could do it.

I don't want to be impertinent again but you didn't get any of these bruises from training today did you?"

"Let's just say training was extra vigorous today".

Bashir Examined the fist sized bruise that was on the lowest part of her back, he used the medical scanner to check for broken bone.

"Well as far as I can tell, you have absolutely no broken bones.

Only bruises.

I'll go get the hypospray and you should be good to go".

Bashir smiled and as he was fumbling around to find the hypospray he looked up for moment to see the familiar silhouette of Odo standing before the sickbay doorway.

"Just the man I want to speak with. Come right in".

Bashir sounded welcoming but there a tiny bit of irritation behind that friendly decorum.

Odo gallantly stepped into the hologen lights to approach Bashir.

"What happened to going easy on her?

I TOLD YOU to go easy on her and she comes in here looking like she was mauled around by a bear."

"I highly doubt her injuries are that bad, Bashir".

"Okay, I slightly over exaggerated, Odo, but still If I didn't know you, trust you and respect you as an equal, I would have come to the conclusion that you had somehow assaulted her.

She looks like an assault victim and I've seen alot of Assault victims, I saw them everyday on Bajor during the occupation, Odo.

She has bruises on nearly every inch of her body Odo.

I don't know what kind of vigorous training you were putting her through but I'm afraid as her doctor I cannot allow it, I cannot allow such vigorous training to continue."

"Excellent news Doctor, her training is over.

She's completed all the requirements so there will be no need for any more vigorous training."

"Yes I heard, I just forgot about it.

Naturally I will be there at the award ceremony.

I wouldn't miss it for the world Constable.

Now Can you tell me what the devil you were doing in training today?

Please do explain what were you doing that put her in such a state?"

"It was a new Klingon Program, it was designed to help improve her combat skills."

"Were you the Klingon or were the Klingons all part of the program?"

Odo twisted his head to glare at Bashir menacingly.

"Okay it's none of my business, what you do on the holodeck with your cadets. I get it but I do not want to see her in this condition again Odo".

Odo already sensing a bluff coming on challenged him further.

"Just what will you do if she does return to you in such a state again?

Will you put me on permanent sick leave?"

"Odo this isn't a joke.

Really, I'm surprised at you, you're rarely ever this careless.

If she comes in like this again, I will have no choice but to call upon Bajoran authorities Odo".

"You could but you don't want to and I highly doubt you ever will."

"You're right Odo, I won't but if Sisko hears of this, he may not be as understanding as I am.

Understand, Odo, I'm not saying this to threaten you, I'm saying this as a friend, Sisko is a lot braver than I am, he's a man who gets things done and if he finds out about these vigorous training session you've been putting her through, he will take action and he will do everything in his power to protect her and prevent anything like this from happening ever again.

He will most likely call upon Bajoran authorities and when he does you may lose your present position as Chief of security.

Odo you could very well lose your Job so please don't let this happen again.

I'm going let this one slide because I know you always have a reason for doing things and I know you didn't mean to harm her.

Just no more vigorous training sessions, alright.

I don't want you to lose your job over a few simple training sessions, Okay".

"Yes, I understand, Bashir.

There will be no more vigorous training sessions.

I appreciate your concern.

You are a good man, Julian and you may find that you are far braver than you think.

Good day to you, Doctor."

Bashir thought he was being genuine but Taya after over hearing Odo, she knew for a fact that he had no intention of stopping these training sessions with her.

When Bashir was finished administering the hypospray she secretly hurried out into the corridors to find Odo.
