This first chapter is a flashback and the next will get into present day. xx

1990

They had been at the motel for days. It felt like weeks in a 7 year olds mind. Sitting in the same room with not much to do during the summertime. John Winchester was at it again on another hunt, though Lillian didn't know that. She knows her father was going door to door making sales. Selling to the public. That's what he told her. Who is she to not believe her superiors at such a naive and impressionable age?

She had suspicions though. Lillian could obviously tell that Dean, her older brother, and her Dad had some deep understanding of something that her and Sam were always left out on. She may be young but she had deep intuition. No one could lie to her. She was smart not to probe the minds of those older than her and get snarky by calling people out on their lies. Deep down she knows the truth will come one day.

Sam was frustrated. At first he was completely clueless to what was going on with John but he notices him coming home more tired, frustrated and, even bloody some nights. John makes up excuses for his children's concern but Lillian and Sam always just glance at one another with a look that reads 'bullshit.'

Occasionally Sam and Lillian will have guessing games late at night when their dad isn't home and Dean falls asleep first. Curled up in the same bed the twins will face each other contemplating.

"Maybe he's a secret agent?"

"I think we would have more money if he was… Maybe he is in a secret fighting ring." Lillian whispered in response.

They heard Dean shuffling from the other bed and decided to cease their chat to avoid an angry brother. Lillian rolled onto her back and drifted to sleep.

The next day John appeared back in the motel to drop off food. He ate with his children, checked them over to see if they are still intact, then pulled Dean off to the side. Their chat was short and Dean was nodding like a good little soldier, then John was out the door. Dean locked the door and walked to the couch. He plopped down and turned the tv on with the remote, aimlessly flipping through channels. The twins knew the drill. "Dad is making sales, Dean is in charge, don't leave the room and keep the door locked."

The sun was just starting to get lower and the sky was saturated in a beautiful shade of orange and pink. Lillian was sick of this room. She was sick of staring at the same four walls every time she looked up and Deans stupid face. She got up from the table she was sitting at adjacent to Sam and stood in front of Dean. He looked up at her with his bright green eyes that matched her own, somewhat irritated.

"I want to go outside." Lillian deadpanned.

The 11 year old made hard eye contact with his younger sister then looked back at the tv like she wasn't there, "no" he said.

"…Dean" Lillian continued.

"No"

Her eyes started to tear up, she didn't even realize it. Her tiny body and mind can't take the isolation anymore, she needs to feel freedom.

Dean looked up at her. "Lily.."

"I just want to walk around the building, I'll stay safe Deanie I promise!I won't even go in the back…. Daddy won't know!!" She pleaded as more tears weld up around her big eyes.

Dean looked torn. He knew his dad was dealing with a hunt that could easily come back here. The thing Dad has been dealing with had been playing all kinds of tricks on him. If his sister got hurt he would never forgive himself… but those puppy eyes she was giving him could make anyone give in. Then again, what really are the chances of the monster finding them? It wouldn't hurt if she went outside for 15 minutes, right?

"Fine.. but you better be back here before if gets dark in 15"

She hugged her big brother while yelling "Thank you!!" Then skipped towards the door. As she passed Sam she stuck her tongue out at him. He was too busy with a book to notice.

As Dean was closing the door he stopped Lillian before she could walk out any further. "I'm going to lock the door, don't forget the special knock" She nodded at him and started walking towards the left side of the building, not a care in the world. Dean watched her go then nervously closed the door. He hoped to god that his dad wouldn't just so happen to come back while she's out there.

Lillian paced the building three times enjoying herself and enjoying the beautiful colors of the sky. On her fourth time around turning towards the left side of the building again she aimlessly walked with her face straight up to look at the clouds, not realizing she was walking into something.. or someone. They didn't realize they were being walked into either considering how tiny the child was until they heard and "oompf" and looked down to see a little girl with long brown hair on the ground.

"Are you alright kiddo?" the man asked. She nodded back at him and took his hand as he helped her up.

"I'm sorry I walked into you sir, I was looking up at the pretty clouds. I didn't see where I was going." Lillian apologized anxiously at her feet. She doesn't know why but this man feels familiar to her. When he grabbed her hand it was almost like a surge of energy, old energy, from deep within her was sparked. She didn't understand any of it.

The man seem surprised too. Lillian caught it but only for a second and then his face went back to contentment. He crouched down and looked into big green eyes "Don't worry about it. The sky does look pretty today, I was gonna watch the sunset. Would you like to watch it with me?"

Her face was filled with excitement. This goes against everything she was ever taught, but something inside of her knows she can trust this man. She nodded happily and he guided her to sit on a crate against the building with him. They both settled at looked at the sky above.

She peeled her eyes away from the sky every few moments and looked up at him through the corner of her eyes. He knew she was. She was so curious who this mystery man was. Eventually she fully turned towards him away from the sunset. "What's your name? Who are you?"

He looked a little caught off guard. He wasn't surprised at all though. The innocent have such curious minds. "Daniel, I'm checking out of one of the rooms later" he answered.

She looked at him and studied his features. He had dark golden hair, it reminded her of caramel. His eyes were a specific shade of brown that complimented his hair. There was something else under this 'mask' though that she could just about gaze upon. It was almost like a ray of light trapped beneath curtains begging to be drawn out. She didn't know why she couldn't draw those curtains and she did not want him to know she was upset by it.

"Liar."

He squinted his eyes at her. This time unsure of what to do. He doesn't think it's an appropriate time to reveal himself, especially since this is their first meeting. It's too much for a small mind to comprehend. He didn't even mean to bump into her here. This was a total surprise to him.

"Who are you?" She questioned again while tapping her fingers on her knee.

"Daniel." He stated again.

"Liar" she spat out. If this was a man something her gut told her she should trust then she should know the truth. She cannot be lied to and she won't be. This time she won't hesitate to bring forth the truth.

He sighed and chuckled. "You're too smart for your age." He brushed his hand through his hand "Loki."

This time it was her turn to squint her eyes at him. Something was gnawing at her about this. What he might be saying is true but it isn't. She has to know. She must know what truly lies before her. "I don't think you are lying but you are not telling the whole truth."

He looked at her, eyes squinted again. Not annoyed but a little stunned how she could know whether or not he's who he says he is. Can she see his true form? No that's impossible she shouldn't be able to. She doesn't even know about the supernatural at her young age. She's intelligent for her age, more so than she might let on to others, that's for sure. He could tell her and cross his fingers she's as smart as he hopes. He could also tell her and suppress the memory until their next visit…

He gave her a small smile. "Some know me as Loki. A very very long time ago i was known as Gabriel"

She looked sad about that, "Why not anymore?"

"That's a story for another time."

She felt a little awkward. Lillian wanted to be bold and ask him if she knows him. More so why he feels familiar. She's also scared of the answer. Uncharted territory with a stranger, a stranger who's not a stranger. What if this guy, Gabriel, who seems good is actually bad? Or what if there's something wrong with her? Why is she able to see certain things about him? She's not scared but she's uncomfortable and unsure. Lillian is so deep in thought she doesn't even hear him talking to her again.

"What's wrong?" He asked looking at her, her face showed signs of deep thought. Eyebrows scrunched up and a concentrated look.

"Why do I feel like I know you? Have we met before? Why did I feel a tingle in my hand when you touched me? Why does your face look bright? But i can't see it all the way… I can still tell it's bright!! Are you a spy? Sometimes I think my dad is a spy too. Why do I feel-" He cut her off before she could ramble on any further.

He held up his hand "Pause. I will answer your questions one at a time. Speak slowly."

She thought about this. The concentrated look still on her face. She wasn't going to ask anything originally. She was going to leave it at Gabriel the Stranger and go about the rest of her day but, she had to know. Her curious innocent mind got the best of her and all her questions came pouring out before she knew. The most prevalent question on her mind would have to be who Gabriel truly was and why he is so familiar.

"Why do you feel familiar to me like we have met before?" She asked with big eyes, hoping he doesn't try to lie to her.

"I'm your father."
