Day: 1

Prompt: Azura Book Club

(1 WEEK AFTER THE EVENTS OF "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCKING ON HOOTYS DOOR")

Luz got her bag and started heading for the door.

"I'm leaving!" She shouted to her teacher, "I'll be gone for a while so don't wait up!"

"Whoa! Hold on there kid, where are you going?" Eda asked

"I ...uh," Luz blushed trying to talk, "I'm meeting Amity at the library."

Eda smirked at her student, "Oh I see, Well have fun and please be careful," Eda said, kneeling to Luz's level. "Remember there are some freaks out there and a lot of creatures."

Luz nodded, "I will, I love you guys!" Luz said as she headed out the door.

Hooty replies, "And I love youuuuu." Luz looks back and waves bye to Hooty and heads to Amity.

Luz made her way to the Bonesborough library to meet her new girlfriend. Throughout the week Luz and Amity have been trying to decipher Phillip's Diary so she could create a portal home. It was taking a mental toll on Luz, so Amity decided they would take a break for a day. So Amity decided they would do a little Azura book club meeting in Amity's secret room in the library. Since Luz felt bad using Gus' library card Willow lent Luz hers. Luz arrived at the library and made her way to Amity's secret room. Luz looked around to see if anyone was nearby, when the coast was clear she went into the room. Amity was currently cleaning the room up a bit until Luz arrived.

"Luz!"

"Amity!"

Both girls walked up to each other and hugged each other.

"Sorry I'm late, I had to stop by Willow's house to get her library card."

"It's okay Luz, You're here now!"

Luz and Amity looked down and realized they still had their arms around each other and separated. They had only been dating for a week and neither have dated anyone else before. Needless to say, neither one of them knew what they were doing.

"So, uh, How do you wanna start?" Amity asked with her face as red as a tomato.

"We could read through book 5 together since we've already finished the first four," Luz replied, her face equally red.

This wasn't the first time they held this book club. Shortly after Luz started attending Hexside Luz and Amity started their Azura book club. Every couple of weeks or so they would meet up in secret. They would talk about their fan theories, favorite scenes, side characters, etc. This was the first time in a while they have gotten together for this. After Luz's ordeal with Belos, she hasn't had as much time as she wanted. The new girlfriends were currently sitting shoulder to shoulder reading Book 5 together. Just the contact with each other was enough to set both of their faces on fire. Aside from hand-holding and hugs, they haven't had any other form of physical contact. They haven't been dating for long so it made sense. They quickly got used to it and started reading together. This was what Luz needed with all the things she'd been through the last few weeks. The encounter with the golden guard, the situation with Eda's mom, helping King get a message to his dad, and of course the ordeal with Odalia. It was nice to have a day to de-stress and read her favorite book series with her girlfriend. The fact she could call Amity her girlfriend was still so surreal to her.

Hours went by, and Luz and Amity read the entirety of book 5 cover to cover. Luz and Amity would take turns reading it. Luz would read the dialogue for half the characters and Amity would read the dialogue for the other half. They would both even do different voices for certain characters like the big adorable dorks they were. Finally, Luz and Amity finished the book.

"You know Amity," Luz started saying, "We've been dating for some time now."

Amity smiled and shook her head. "Luz, we've been only dating for a week."

"Well, I wanted to ask an important question that will make us feel lots of heavy feelings about it," Luz replied back.

Amity placed her hand on Luz's shoulder and smiled back. "Oh Luz, you can tell me anything."

"Oh Titan, she wants to marry me!? But we're still young? We've only been dating for a week! But I want this, but I don't want it yet… oh Titan, what do I do!?" Amity thought to herself. She was so nervous that her mind was going wild.

Luz slowly inhaled and said what she wanted to say "What do you think Azura and Hecate's marriage would be like!?"

"Oh Luz, I want to do it, but we're still young…" Amity paused just realizing what Luz asked, "Wait a Titan minute, what would I think Azura and Hecate's marriage would be like?"

"Yeah. Wait, what were you thinking about?" Luz asked, confused.

"Nothing!" Amity exclaimed and laughed nervously, "So, about Azura and Hecate, well… they've started dating since Volume 5 so… not sure."

"Well," Luz replied, "I'm thinking Azura invites some of her friends, like Gahoot, the guardian Owl."

Amity nodded in response, "Okay. Maybe, they only met each other once during book 2."

"How long after book 5 do you think it takes for them to get married?" Luz asked

"Hmmmmmm," Amity thought for a second before saying her theory, "I would think relatively soon after the ending. They have been through so much that they would think that life is too short to wait."

A thought suddenly came to Luz. " Amity, I'm thinking if they do get married… maybe Hecate could give Azura her amulet. I watched this anime where she gave her moon necklace to her which allowed her to defeat her long-time enemy, Emperor Sakron. And maybe they have a little dance together?"

Amity looked at Luz confused, not understanding half of what she said, "Luz are we still talking about Azura?"

"Sorry, I got carried away, Hermosa," Luz replied, turning red in embarrassment.

Amity laughed at her girlfriend, "It's ok Luz, I think it's kinda cute. Also, I don't know what "Hermosa" means, but I like the nickname."

Luz blushed again, "I mean if they weren't so oblivious to each other's feelings in book 3 they could have married sooner." Luz said trying to get back on topic

"Or if Hecate wasn't so mean to Azura when they first met," Amity replied, both completely oblivious to the parallels between themselves and the main characters of their favorite book series.

Luz looked at the time and went wide-eyed, "Oh crud! It's late! I need to go back before it gets too dark."

"And I promised Emira I'd help her prepare for a date she has tomorrow," Amity replied,

"Well uh..." Luz once again struggled to get out want she wanted to say, "I guess I'll see you at school,"

"Y-Yeah," Amity replied, holding her arms out.

Luz went into Amity's arms and hugged her. Luz started to make her way back to The Owl House. Halfway there she let out a massive sneeze.

"Huh," Luz said to herself, "I hope I'm not getting sick."

Little did she know she was getting more than a little sick. Luz didn't know but, she was suddenly feeling a lot more than a bit under the weather.
