The Fox and the Hound

Branch and Acorn

Tod and Copper liked to play with each other everyday. It didn't matter what activity they would come up with and partake in, they always had a great time! After all, Tod and Copper were friends and they loved every minute they spent together, so would make the most of whatever activity they were playing from sunrise to sunset. The pair loved and appreciated each other and always made sure to express their feelings for the other when they shared a warm, tight hug as they met up and then left to go home. Tod and Copper also supported each other through thick and thin, both in times of physical activities like their numerous friendly competitions and in times of uncertainty like when a thunderstorm began whilst they were out playing in the forest and huddled together closely as they took shelter in a cave and made the other feel a little braver when the thunder clapped. But of course as friends do, in contrast and balance to these feelings, Tod and Copper also couldn't resist teasing each other whenever they had the chance! The teasing was all in good fun of course, neither of them ever meaning to hurt each other through their jokes and quips. They teased when they pitted themselves against each other in challenges, they teased when they played tag, and of course they had to tease when the other fell foul to an embarrassing mishap!

Both Tod and Copper had fallen victim to a very embarrassing moment, all while in front of the other in full view! One time, Tod was teasing Copper, creeping towards him slyly as he tried to playfully scare and intimidate him, Copper knew this was all in good fun of course! Tod walked by a tree when an acorn suddenly fell down, and in the most perfect of timing, the acorn thunked right on top of Tod's head with a Bonk! sound. Tod wasn't hurt, but he was definitely knocked a little loopy and was shook a little bit! Copper had seen this whole scenario play out right in front of him and taking advantage of Tod's cheekiness being brought down a level, he burst into laughter, rolling all over the ground and he knew he had to tease Tod about it! "Bonk!" Copper giggled, imitating the sound the acorn made when it hit Tod on the head "Right on top of your head!" he added. Tod rolled his eyes playfully, he knew Copper had seen everything and he couldn't hide his embarrassing mishap at all! "Come on, Copper!" said Tod "It wasn't that funny!" trying to sugarcoat the situation a bit. Copper kept laughing, he thought it was very funny! "Yes it was!" argued Copper playfully "The sound the acorn made it when it hit you on your head! Bonk!". Copper loved to tease Tod with the sound, just as a playful way to remind him of his moment! As they walked out of the woods that day, Copper chanted "Bonk!" all the way home, all while Tod could do nothing but grin and bear it. "You're never gonna let that go, are you Copper?" Tod said, a slight laugh in his voice, deep down he thought his mishap was funny too. "Oh Tod, I will always remember!" laughed Copper. Copper may have been on his high horse over Tod's acorn bonk on the head, but little did he know that he would have an embarrassing moment too, something that would happen in full view of Tod, who would definitely waste no time in teasing Copper right back!

Sometime after Tod's acorn mishap, the two were playing together in the woods, stepping over leaves like stones on a river, the aim of the game being not to touch the ground. When Copper took one of his turns, he was feeling a little cocky, having been very good at the game up to that point, but Copper didn't notice that there was a loose branch sitting on the ground. He accidentally stepped on the branch, and the way it was shaped meant that the longest part of it sprung upwards, and it flung right into Copper's face! It made a Boing! sound, exactly like a spring, perfectly combining with its springing motion. Copper wasn't hurt by the branch boinging him in the face, but he was certainly knocked silly by his embarrassing surprise! Tod had been watching the whole time and had seen the whole mishap right in front of his eyes! He couldn't help but explode into laughter as Copper had fallen foul to a bit of revenge, his chance to get some teasing payback had come! "Boing!" Tod giggled, imitating the sound the branch made when it hit Copper in the face "Right in front of your face!" he added. Copper brushed himself off, the tough attitude he liked to portray when he played with Tod was fractured a bit by the mishap! "I meant to do that!" laughed Copper, trying to play down the moment, but Tod knew Copper was very much embarrassed, "Oh sure you did! Boing!" he said, milking the moment to tease Copper a bit more. Once again the two headed home as the day ended, but Tod wasn't letting Copper's mishap slide by, and he teased him by saying "Boing!" as they walked home. "Get over it, Tod!" Copper said with a playful serious tone, he did enjoy the teasing deep down though, "Oh I will never get over it!" laughed Tod. Copper didn't forget Tod's embarrassing mishap so Tod certainly wasn't going to forget Copper's embarrassing mishap!

Another day came by, Tod and Copper met up as usual and frollicked away into the woods. They were both even in terms of humiliating slip ups, neither one having an advantage, and they saw this as an opportunity to engage in an all-out teasing war, one they would both very much enjoy! The pair casually strolled through the woods, wondering what they should play next, when Tod decided to bring up Copper's mishap with the branch, teasing him with a cheeky rhyme. "Copper was walking on the leaves, stepping all over the place, but he took a wrong turn, stepped on a branch and the branch went 'Boing'! in his face!" Tod chanted before he burst into laughter over his clever rhyme! Copper wasn't going to let Tod have the last laugh though, as he came up with a rhyme of his own to tease Tod back, bringing up his mishap with the acorn. "Tod was feeling cocky, he always did when he led, but he hit a tree, an acorn fell and the acorn went 'Bonk'! on his head!" chanted Copper and he burst into laughter too. Tod smiled at Copper's clever rhyme, so he decided to take the teasing up a gear. "Hey Copper" Tod said "Remember that sound that that branch made when it hit you in your face? I think it went like 'Boing'!" and he laughed cheekily. Copper wasn't going to let Tod have the upperhand, not when he'd had an embarrassing moment himself. "Hey Tod" Copper said "Remember that sound that that acorn made when it hit you on your head? I think it went like 'Bonk'!" and he laughed cheekily too.

The pair were ready to try and get one over on each other, despite them being evenly matched. "Yours was the funniest!" Tod said, referring to Copper's mishap, "No, yours was funnier!" Copper playfully argued back, referring to Tod's mishap. "Come on, that branch boinging you in your face was far more embarrassing!" laughed Tod, "Pretty sure that acorn bonking you on your head was way more humiliating!" retorted Copper, the two were confident that the other had had a much more funny mishap, they just couldn't seem to agree at all! Tod took the teasing to the next level, he saw a branch on the ground nearby, stepped on it and he stumbled around in an over-the-top way, imitating what had happened to Copper. Tod then looked at Copper and said "Boing! In your face!". Copper wasn't going to take that at all, and he picked up an acorn that was on the ground nearby, throwing it in the air and letting it land on his head, before stumbling around in the same over-the-top way. Copper turned to Tod and said "Bonk! On your head!". The two attempted to keep serious faces, but their smiles were slowly creeping in! The teasing was so over-the-top, definitely not serious at all! "That branch boinged you in your face!" giggled Tod, holding his paw over his mouth to stop himself from laughing, "That acorn bonked you on your head!" retorted Copper, his laughter crept out a bit more. The next round of teasing came as Tod and Copper resorted to silly nicknames that they taunted each other with. "Boing Face!" Tod called out, "Bonk Head!" Copper called back. This did it, Tod and Copper could no longer contain their laughter and it all burst out as they fell down and exploded into giggles, the nicknames were so silly and made no sense at all, but they both knew this all too well!

Tod and Copper got up and amidst their laughter, embraced in a hug, ensuring each other that everything was all just for the fun and jokes. The pair laughed and laughed before they finally admitted that their mishaps were just as embarrassing as the other, they had known this all along but they couldn't resist the teasing and playful arguing as they milked and played up each other's situation. They also embraced their silly nicknames, "I concede to my status as Bonk Head!" laughed Tod, "I take claim of my title as Boing Face!" Copper laughed back. Tod and Copper began to head home as it was now getting dark, but just because they were getting ready to go didn't mean they'd stop the teasing, they loved it so much that they carried it on! As they walked through the woods, they playfully taunted each other with the sounds of their mishaps, and nudged one another. "Boing!" Tod called out, nudging Copper, "Bonk!" Copper called back, nudging Tod in the same way. They did this all the way back home, not stopping until they reached the fence that they met up at. Tod and Copper kept laughing, they had really had such a great time! They embraced in their usual hug and smiled. As they parted ways for the day, Tod couldn't resist sneaking in one last bout of teasing. "See you tomorrow, Boing Face!" Tod called out as he ran home "No, see YOU tomorrow, Bonk Head!" Copper called back, running home himself. Tod and Copper's laughter echoed through the air, such was the power of their special bond!
