Chapter one: a book of revelation

Anne crept up the stairs that rainy night in absolute anguish after she heard what davy said: 'by the way Anne did you know that Gilbert is dying?' she did not know because she was away in echo lodge but now as she knelt at her bed she realized the truth too late.

She loved Gilbert

after she thought this, she thought of that terrible night in the orchard where Gilbert proposed, and she rejected him! worse she remembered those hurtful words she said that made her begin to cry. 'I can never ever Love you' she said to him, oh how horrible of her and all she said wasn't true.

Anne began sobbing she might as well die if Gilbert were to die as well, however Anne knew God probably wouldn't like that but she didn't care anymore, she was guilty of a sin.

Anne knelt down sobbing for hours 'I could never love you, Never Love you, Never Love you.' 'NO' Anne thought to herself 'I Love you Gilbert, but can you love me back, or am I too late?'

As she sobbed she made up her mind: Anne knelt down tears still dripping she folded Her hands together and began to pray: "Oh lord my God!" she sobbed "I ask nothing of you but to spare Gilbert's life! I have seen my wrongs, they are just as bad as with Ebenezer Scrooge." she suddenly thought of the book a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens How Scrooge repented in the end to let the Ghost of Christmas Future change his fate from death.

maybe she had a chance, but no. Scrooge had a chance only a character from a book, this was real life she had no chance nor Gilbert, despite this she continued her prayer "Oh please lord listen to me! spare Him! I love him!"

as she said those last words she didn't realize that God really was listening from above God looked down ar her with a smile on his face. "my good Child Your prayers have been answered through your repentance, there is still yet hope my child." Anne didn't hear him of course, the storm still raged and she kept sobbing heartbroken sobs.

In the Blythe homestead Gilbert lay thre coughing and spluttering, his typhoid now extremely serious "He will not die!" Mrs. Blythe said. "calm down dear." John Blythe put his hands on her shoulders "Gilbert will be alright, he's a tough old boy." Her Husband reassured "Lets hope so." the Doctor Muttered "he's having a hard time."

Gilbert suddenly stopped breathing and everything went black.

when he opened hid eyes he saw nothing but white Gilbert Blythe looked around him until he stopped at a depressing sight it looked like (thought this hasn't been invented yet) a screen with a certain Redhead Girl he knew very well Kneeling on her bed sobbing. he wanted so much to comfort her, but a voice said "This is a vision Gilbert." Gilbert Jumped and turned around to see a man in a white robe he looked at Gilbert with a smile "Im proud of you Gilbert Blythe." "Are you-" Yes I am he." God said "does that mean I am well... Dead?" Gilbert said the last word in a small voice.

"Well as for you to understand Yes and No, you see, you have a choice to leave this life on earth or to keep going. I leave you your choice Gilbert, what will you choose?"

Gilbert looked at a depressed Anne in her bedroom "I have no meaning in this earth without her." Gilbert said pointing at Anne. God suddenly said "But what if you try Again?" "try again?!" Gilbert said "she won't accept me I've tried and tried and tried! its over." God waited for Gilbert to say more until he said "But What if she had changed? what if dhe does love you?" he said.

"I know she doesn't why should she I was thoughtless anyway she will never say- "Gil-Gilbert" Gilbert stopped and looked at the vision of Anne she was looking up at the Ceiling of her house "Gil Im sorry for what I've done I-I Was foolish to talk to you in such ways, if-if your out there I want you to know that im sorry and I love you!" with those words she started sobbing more "I can't live without you Gil dont leave me please dont die!"

God looked at Gilbert with a smile "Now what is your decision Gilbert? be up here immediately or spend the rest of your life to try again?"
