The Hero Killer Strikes Again

It'd been three days since the internship started, and the students of U.A. were learning things from their mentorships.

Those like Uraraka were learning how to expand their horizons. Others were learning how to put their other skills to work like Uwabami and how beauty could be a weapon. The rest were getting a good sweat, like Jirou, or working with the public.

Sadly, while most are learning, some had other agendas. Iida spent his time hunting for information on Stain.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Izuku was piggybacking a motorcycle driven by Mirko. Despite needing to do so, he can't help but feel something holding onto her tightly while trying not to fall. Her lesson for today was awareness.

Incidentally, the bike they're on was a gift from Funbari Holdings, the Shin-Cyclone.

They arrived at a busy district. "We're here."

"Where are we Mirko-san?" Yoh asked the rabbit hero.

"This place was somewhere your aunt helped the less fortunate for being different. Let's go." Adjusting his hero costume, Izuku followed her with Amidamaru close behind.

The district was lively, with many passers greeting the rabbit hero. He noticed a lot if not all were mutation types. He would see some while in the city, but here it was a lot more prevalent. Amidamaru hadn't seen such a sight as well.

Soon, they reached a building that said MAA – Mutant Awareness Act. Entering, they came upon a tall ordinary woman. Well, she was anything but; she was exceptionally tall, with fox-like features, thick, and with blond locks that made it to her shoulders. A single strand held down the right side of her face. She had large blue eyes with bushy eyelashes and pointed ears that stood out from her green fur.

She was very cute to Amidamaru and Izuku.

"Mirko-sama, welcome back." The taller fox woman greeted the rabbit hero in respect.

"Thank you, Yukimura. I see you've made sure everything was going well in my absence." She grinned.

"We're all doing our best. I think maybe in a week we can build another branch one in Tokyo or near the U.A." Her giddiness infected the room. She came to her senses in time to see the little one. "Oh? Is this your sidekick?"

"No. He's the Asakura brat I told you about." Mirko pointed out as it was obvious.

Hearing that, the woman bounced to correct herself before bowing in respect. "Thank you for your aunt's help."

He took her hand and shook it. "It's alright, Yukimura-san. My aunt deserves praise, not me."

"I still have to thank you. Things were hard for me before she entered my life due to my Quirk. Now I can fulfill my dream of entering a fashion show." It was true ever since her quirk manifest , she would get stares from the public.

"… fashion?"

"I want to show the world you shouldn't be ashamed of looking like this." She span around to show herself off, causing the boy to blush. He couldn't deny her dream either; it was blessed. Knowing she wanted to show society that mutations quirks shouldn't be label as villains.

"I hope you can make a difference." The Shaman was awe

"Thank you! I'll do my best!"

Amidamaru shed tears hearing those words. Mirko shrugged it off. 'Get a room.'

Izuku felt glad that his aunt showed him this type of world, how things weren't black and white. As much as he admired All Might, he was shattered by those words of cruel reality. It made him feel the same as mutation types; less than everyone else. He realized that there was no symbol to represent the Quirkless, the mutations, those who were different the day they were born.

The closest they had was Anna, but so many loud voices said things about her that implied otherwise. Those same voices demanded the status quo remained, like the commission; that's where the hate for mutation types stemmed from. The convenience salvaged the minds of humanity who refused to admit their own mistakes, so the last thing they wanted was someone rocking the boat that was Japan's economy.

It took some time, but Izuku understood the truth of Japan's society; All Might being the icon that he was boosted the economy and kept the status quo they held, what with all the children worshiping the No.1 Hero. While he may have been a part of it, it stopped within time; all of his adoration fell within the walls of filling a void. Yoh was a far cry away from who Deku was.

Around the same time in Hosu, Iida was with the hero Manual. Patrolling was going fine as planned until the latter spoke a bold question.

"This is kind of hard to ask, but you're here for the Hero Killer, aren't you?"

Such a question caught Iida off guard. "How did you-"

Manual grinned sheepishly while rubbing the back of his head. "It was pretty obvious since my agency was the only one stationed here. I mean, I'm grateful…"

His face became more somber. "But you shouldn't be a hero to pursue revenge."

Iida felt like someone punched him in the gut. "Technically, heroes don't have the authority to arrest or punish people. We can only use our Quirks because of the regulations put on them. So, regardless of who or what, we can't go for revenge."

Iida stared into the dirt, nothing in particular, as Manual continued: "It's not like I want the guy to get away Scot-free, but there's a process to this. You just seemed like to earnest type. I'd hate for you to ruin your career for a mistake you made. Bet your big brother's happy knowing that he's out of the hospital and you're doing hero work."

At that, Iida bowed. "Thank you. I appreciate it." His voice was lacking in sincerity, but his boss didn't feel like following through, as long as he got it.

From there they continued their patrol. Iida couldn't let it go despite that. So focused, that he failed to answer the calls from his mother that had started since this morning.

Hosu

The Hero Killer has waited enough for this moment; he set out to hunt for the right prey. This resulted in him perched upon a water tower like a vigilant gargoyle. Shigaraki emerged from Kurogiri's portal unannounced, his shoulder already patched up mind the splotches of blood still visible through the bandages.

"So, what are you going to do?"

"This world has to be reformed." Stain's tongue hung off the enamel of his teeth. "To do so, blood must be spilled."

Kurogiri nodded in understanding. "You have a clear goal. Your dedication is admirable."

"Good… Finally, someone who understands." Stain stood up.

Shigaraki gripped his wounded shoulder. "I get the feeling you enjoy picking on me."

Stain continued to peer into the city, his attention still on them. "The title hero is for those who have accomplished great deeds. But, this world is full of false champions who care only for money and fame."

He gripped one of his sheathed knives. "And until this world understands it, I will continue my work." And he leaped from the roof, entering the city like a predator in the night.

Shigaraki could care less; rage controlled his senses, rage toward the Hero Killer's words. "You talk so high and mighty but waste your time focusing on a small stage. You're so noble I could regurgina… regirgin… puke!"

Sighing, Kurogiri interjected, "Don't spurn his methods. Really, in all of the cities he's appeared, the crime rates have fallen."

"Oh right, because that's what we want, smarter and more conscious heroes!" Shigaraki said this, scratching his neck in irritation. Kurogiri's words of praise took him for a loop. It came close to breaking skin.

Soon, his rage subsided and he relinquished the act. "It's over." He crossed his arms as he leered down at the city. "It won't work. We just can't agree on a basic level. And he annoys me."

Shigaraki ignored him in favor of one possibly amusing idea. "Kurogiri, bring out the Nomus."

Kurogiri summoned a portal without question. Meanwhile, Shigaraki faced the city as if the Hero Killer remained within earshot. "You think you can get away with stabbing me?"

From the void behind him, massive monsters moved. Several different ones came out, three in total.

"When I get tired of you, I will kill you. Whenever I feel like it, just like that. So let's make it a bit more interesting; I will crush your pride first. By morning, no one will remember you, Hero Killer." Shigaraki declared.

Mirko was riding on her bike along with Yoh as they finished at MAA. Now, they were patrolling the area as she explained about a hero's task of being in areas with a high density of population. Since more trouble happened in areas like Shibuya, small skirmishes became commonplace in everyday life.

"So the lower the number of people, the lower the crime. Is that why there are a lot of hero offices in urban areas?" Izuku asked.

"Very good," Mirko smirked at her master's useful ability to catch on.

"And outside the city limits?" asked Izuku curiously.

Before Mirko could answer that, they heard a loud crash. Somebody threw something bouncy at them. The dark bunny girl revved her engine telling the boy to hang on for dear life. Expert maneuvers on her end allowed her to avoid the car. It detonated behind her, but that was the least of her worries. Something with an exposed brain and six arms landed before her.

Mirko made a turn, avoiding the monster. She then slid Akira-style to face the Noumu blocking their path. She was surprised at what she saw. "What the hell is that?!"

The monster roared before storming for them.

"It's like the monster from USJ! I think it's called a Nomu" Izuku shouted when he saw it.

"So it has a name… good." The rabbit lady got up and bounced on her toes. Her cheeks spread at the thought of the challenge. "Then I can put it on its epithet."

"Wait, I can help!" he offered.

"No you can't, intern. It's my job to make sure you're ready, and you're not ready to get permission yet!" As it was true.

Pushed by that statement, Izuku sighed. He would have to use his ace in the sleeve, which kind of pained him thinking he'd need to. "Mirko, as your master, I order you to make it happen."

She twitched at those words. "… very well. I permit you." As she had to admit the boy was either brave or foolish but knew how strong he was.

"Also, sign this." He took out an agreement contract.

"Oh, you bitch." Mirko grabbed a pen he held and signed the contract. Meanwhile, the Nomu just stormed off between their discussion.

After that, Izuku pulled out a stack of paper to scatter into the wind. Each became a Shikigami. "Follow those Shikigami. They can show those in need of help."

" Thanks for the backup kid" Mirko turned towards the Shikigami that pointed with it's tiny hand. While Izuku ran towards the center of the city as his gut told him to.

"What did you say? Villains appeared?!" Manual heard this on his com set. Both he and Iida saw the glow of the flames illuminating not too far away. "Don't worry. I can head there right now."

Manual then took off with Iida by his side. But as they raced, the latter couldn't care less. Another threat plagued his mind. 'Would he be this flashy?'

Still, the possibility wasn't zero. Even as they ran, Iida scoped the surrounding area, spotting the darkness of the abandoned and silent buildings. Upon reaching the last alleyway, Iida stopped dead in his tracks. Unfortunately, Manual didn't notice and kept heading to the fire.

His eyes were dead on the empty alley, he felt in his gut he found the hero killer's next area.

XXX

"That idiot's making a move. And he's so noisy." Stain eyed the glow of the distance flames with disdain from his hunting grounds, a dark empty alleyway. "It would seem that Shigaraki's destruction is nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum all in the name of gaining attention. How sad and pathetic. I'll deal with him later.

"But first, my job…" Stain turned back to the hero whose head was against the wall.

"My body… I-I can't move…" Native laid against the wall, a lone cut on his shoulder. "Bastard… I'll get you for this!"

"If you're gonna be a hero, you should choose your final words more carefully." Stain rose on his bloodied, battered blade.

As the killing blow came down, it diverted to knock aside something coming at him from behind. The white knight helmet flung in the air, bouncing on the concrete along with a pair of now cracked glasses. There, Stain stared in surprise at the young teenager. "A child? Who are you?"

Even with the disdain written on the boy's face, Stain disregarded him. "Run, run away from here. This is not a place for children."

The scowling Iida propped himself from the ground. "You're carrying blades all over your body and you're wearing a blood-red scarf. You must be the Hero Killer Stain! It's you, right?"

A burning inferno of hate raged behind Iida's usually calm and collected eyes as all that hate and anger spilled out. "I've been looking for you, but I didn't think I'd find you so soon."

Shiiing!

Now he took him seriously. His katana shoved in the boy's face, edging right at the cusp of his bridge. "Those are the eyes of vengeance. Be careful of what you say next; even children can be my target."

That was his first and final warning, and they fell on deaf ears.

"So just because I'm a child, I'm not even a threat to you…" Iida's anger overruled his fear, allowing him to speak. "I am the brother of an incredible hero you attacked. He was the best brother anyone could hope for! AND YOU TOOK THAT AWAY FROM HIM!"

Stain remained stoic. "I have come to stop you because he can't anymore."

He recalled what his brother asked of him that day: '"I want you to take the name. For me, Tenya in my stead until I recover."'

"You're going to remember my name for as long as you live." Iida stands tall, his glare burning with hatred as he declares himself to the villain. "I am Ingenium, and I will defeat you. That, I promise!"

"Then, so be it." Stain found his next prey. "Die."

While Iida was engaging the hero killer, the enemy Shaman from USJ was ready to act. From a box, he removed one of many talismans. He stared skyward upon something blue, an orb.

He grabbed and threw it at a fire hydrant, not doing anything. But then the water within simmered out and soaked the orb until the hydrant exploded. From the water, the orb swelled to the size of a building until it took the shape of Umi-bozu.

Its giant yellow eyes glowed as it rampaged. As the living water attacked, civilians ran for their lives screaming for help. Many unfortunate were caught and drowned. Many heroes fought back against it, but like the golems it was invulnerable.

Endeavor arrived on the scene. "Stand back. Let a real hero handle this," he declared stepping forward. He slid a hand up his arm, akin to rolling up a sleeve.

He came here to deal with the Hero Killer he was tracking, but this would have to do. "Flashfire Fist!" His signature technique was cooking, turning the area around him into steam. He then shot, blasting the water monster.

It didn't work, unfortunately, as while the fire connected it only made the surface become steam. The living water responded in anger by firing a high-pressure jet stream.

Instincts took over, allowing Endeavor to dodge in time. The buildings behind him were sliced vertically.

"That was high-pressured water! " one of the heroes said.

Endeavor knew what that was, as machines were crafted to produce water streams to slice the most durable minerals of the world. He'd need to watch for that, as well as the ten tentacles the creature made.

"Scatter!" Too late; some heroes were caught and sliced by the water pressure.

" We need back up!" Endeavor shouted for help, thankful that his daughter wasn't around. Strangely, she ran off somewhere.

Gran Torino was having his problem. What began as a normal day changed into the worst. It happened so fast; he was on a train listening to the speakers, and the next thing he knew, something smashed a hero through it, sending all of the passengers into a frenzy.

The side of the train was blown open as a hero was held down by a Noumu. Gran Torino tackled the creature, pushing it outside the train. That's when he saw it, a city engulfed in smoke and fire.

"Outrageous getting innocents involved." He faced the creature. "What the hell are you?!"

XXX

Izuku was already at the scene, witnessing what he could parallel as a nature disaster film. The city was rubble as Nomu stormed around like Kaijin. Heroes fought against them, hardly able to pull through. Civilians running in fear and heroes trying save them.

One heroine told the Shaman to back off.

Izuku didn't care about her; he was too busy thinking about the situation. If this was going on, then the League of Villains was connected to Stain the Hero Killer. He quickly commanded his Shikigami to search for Iida. "I hope it's not too late."

XXX

Tomura Shigaraki smiled from atop the water tower, watching the entire city drown in chaos. The wailing and gnashing of teeth, the bellowing of the bitterly bummed out; it was all music to his ears, and he was the maestro in command. "The Nomu make such great playthings."

Kurogiri turned to his ward. "Are you not going to participate in the battle?"

"Don't be stupid. I'm still too injured to take part; this is just a side quest, a minigame. That's why I brought our pets along."

flashback

Shigaraki was left alone within the bar to patch himself up.

With no one else around he faced the little TV set on the counter. "Sensei, how many Nomu are complete?"

A cold, conniving voice responded. "I've finished adjusting the behavior of six of them. Though, they are not as strong as the one from the U.S.J. attack."

"Give them to me."

"Why?"

"Because I don't like that arrogant Hero Killer you brought in. And it's my right to destroy anything that I don't like, right?" There's a deranged crazed look in his eye. "Sensei?"

"… very well. However, you may only have four. Try to use this as a learning experience."

Flashback end

"Haha haha!" Shigaraki cackled as the damage spread.

Iida's Engines roared as red-hot steam burst out of their exhausts. His legs rocketed forward as he put his all into this one strike. "For Tensei!"

"Oh, I see!" Stain demonstrated some masterful acrobatics, leaping up and over the boy with little effort. "You must be Ingenium's brother; I only let him live to spread the good word."

The murderer stabbed his foot into Iida's shoulder, blood squirting out. "Word of me."

Groans of pain escaped Iida's closed teeth as Stain slammed his other foot down on the teen's head. Barely a minute in, and Stain had pinned him down. "Words and guidance only have effect when one has the strength to pull it off. But he was weak, just like you are."

With a spin of his blade, Stain impaled right through the boy's left arm, showing no mercy. "You're no hero. You have no right to be called that. Both of you are fakes."

"Shut up, villain!" Iida growled, trying his best to fight through the searing pain. "You damaged my brother's spine. He'll never be able to be a hero ever again!" Of course, there was more to it than what he stated, but that's not important to him. "My brother was incredible! A caring person who saved many lives. Someone people looked up to." His burning hatred seeped through boiling inside of him. "You had no right to take that all away from him!"

flashback

The whole family had gathered around for dinner. It was one of the few times Tensei was able to join. He recalled correctly their father was happy and proud of their eldest becoming an independent young man. Tensei Iida offered up an honored but humbled smile.

"They support me 'cause I'm not great on my own. They're looking out for me. I honestly couldn't do anything without them. I need their support. I'm not super talented or anything, but if I'm going to call myself a hero, then I have to live up to that title and help people."

End…

But now, he couldn't live up to it. Now he was Quirkless. It hurt so much Iida cried. "He was my hero. My big brother inspired my dream, to one day be like him… and you took that away! I won't forgive you for that! I'll kill you for it!"

While some would be inspired by those words, Stain's stoicism held strong. There was only one thing to break this boy's delusions. "Instead of getting revenge, should you not be worried about saving that guy over there?"

Iida's eyes glanced over at the long-forgotten hero, Native, wounded and paralyzed on the side of the building. His previously ignited blood froze. "You were so busy with your grudge that you not only used your Quirk illegally, you did so forsaking that guy who needed you."

Stain's grip tightened, twisting and causing more pain. "Let this be a precious final lesson for you; heroes are selfless and righteous, not self-righteous. To be so blinded by something as petty as revenge makes you the furthest thing from a hero."

He drew his sword, causing blood to spill on his shoulder and the streets. His tongue lapped upon the rugged blade. "And that's why you're gonna die tonight."

All of a sudden, Iida's entire body was paralyzed. 'My body… won't move!'

Stain raised his sword over the boy's skull. "Goodbye, child. May your death build a better world."

Iida trembled before the Hero Killer, a surge of mixed emotions spiraling and clashing within him. "Say what you want about me, but you're still the criminal who hurt my brother!"

Before he could deliver the blow, he gasped; Stain raised his blade and blocked another sword. There stood Izuku holding Stain in a deadlock. He kicked Stain hard, pushing the killer away from his friend. "Iida, are you alright?"

"Midoriya? What are you doing here!?"

"I came to save you. Thank kami my Shikigami called me in time." Izuku kept his eyes on Iida.

"Midoriya, please! Don't get involved." Iida said as he tried to will himself to move, tears still leaking from his eyes. "This doesn't have anything to do with you!"

"Iida…what are you saying?"

Stain's blade slashed the ground, the sparks and loud clang drawing the boys' attention. "You showed up to save your friend's life. You made a big entrance. Nice, but I must kill that so-called pro. And your friend's life was sealed the minute he declared he was here for revenge."

Death lurked into each of his words. "Just like with him, if you get in my way, the weaker will be culled. So what now?"

Amidamaru's eyes widened. He'd seen those eyes hundreds of times before. 'Such drive and conviction. This is a real killer.' "Izuku-dono, be careful. This person has the eyes of a warrior and would do anything to achieve his goal. Even pain won't break his spirit; he will see to it that the world burns."

"Understood…" Yoh took out his phone and pinned his location, sending an SOS. After all, if Amidamaru could warn him about a non-Shaman, then that meant he was that dangerous. He couldn't stop shaking either. 'But the only way I can save them is to defeat the Hero Killer.'

"Stop! Run away! I told you, this has-"

"Iida shut up," Izuku shouted, gripping his sword with both hands. "I don't want to be the type of person who leaves their friend to die. That's no hero at all."

Those words took Stain off guard. He was so intrigued to see someone finally match his expectations. He needed to test those words, so he slashed at Yoh. The boy countered, clashing their blades together. 'I probably should have used the Oversoul instead of Unity.'

He brought his sword down for a slash, but Stain's speed allowed him to jump past it off of his shoulders. Amidamaru within him pushed his shoulder to prevent a cut.

Stain grinned widely. It was a while since he felt this level of excitement. It was the same as drinking ambrosia. His young opponent looked to be enjoying this as well, the look in his eyes his only tell.

Both stepped back. "Not bad, kid. What's your name?"

"The Shaman King Hero – Yoh," Izuku declared his hero name.

"Thank you. I will remember you." His free hand slipped out two knives. Yoh saw them and prepared to move in, but he didn't want to risk it; he didn't know what his Quirk was or how it functioned, but clearly, it had something to do with blades and paralysis.

"Stop!"

Then, out of nowhere, a huge flame came towards the hero killer once again. He quickly jumped away from the flames, annoyed.

"Is this going to keep happening?!"

Izuku was perplexed. Where did that come from?

"Midoriya, some advice," spoke a female voice as she entered the scene, "the next time you text information, add more details."

There stood Todoroki with a Shikigami on her shoulder. "I was almost late."

My hero academia never did have something like a social gathering for those who needed help since society relied on too many heroes that could solve all the problems in the world. Or such a rally was demolished by the commission.

The Cyclone is from Shin Kamen Rider it's a good movie.

Umi-bozu is a large and very strange-looking Yokai that inhabits ocean waters. Also known as "Umi-Nyudo" and "Umi-Hoshi." A famed Yokai of many legends.

The one thing I didn't like is that Horikishi didn't give the tall ordinary woman a name as it was common for a hero to ask a civilian about their need to gain trust here he didn't a name and proclaimed Ordinary Woman leave a lasting impression amongst fans and has deemed her the cutest character in the history of the My Hero Academia series as she doesn't have a name at all. As such lazy writing and lack the drive.

Thank Bastion for Beta and proofreading.
