Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 5 of Black Sheep. I want to thank those who have left reviews for this story. It truly does mean a lot to me. I hope you guys continue to enjoy this story and my other Marvel stories. I am currently trying my best to make sure that I have countless chapters to post so I don't really miss an update unless I hit writer's block which I'm hoping doesn't happen any time soon. But sadly it did hit. Hopefully, I won't have one hit for a while now that I am working on this next part of the story. We have one chapter before we fully start with Moon Knight. I'm excited to see what you think of this next chapter. Without further ado Chapter 5. ENJOY!

Chapter 5

Valeriya sat at her computer that Tony had given her to work on for this project they were doing with the museum. Instead of having the red widow constantly going into the museum to have updates, she could update Mrs. Abbot with the whole thing. During the past few days, she was able to update the woman on one plaque so far which was for Tony. She was working on Natasha's plaque next that would be in front of her wax figure. She bit her lower lip softly as her eyes shifted toward the cell phone that sat on the table. Her typing stopped for a moment as she eyed the phone. She hadn't heard a damn thing from Steven and it made her heart clench in her chest in worry. What happened to the nice young man that she had met that showed her the museum? Was he really upset with her for hiding the fact that she was the red widow? Or did something happen to him? Her heart clenched in her chest again swallowing the lump in her throat.

Suddenly the phone pinged, making the young woman look at it again. Her brows pinched together as she easily lifted up the laptop from her lap moving it to the table. Her hand brushed up against the phone and she slowly picked it up. She bit her lower lip in concern as her glove-covered hand went through her hair. Her eyes widened when she saw that it was Steven messaging her for the first time in days. "Oh my…" She quickly opened up the message to see what he was going to say.

I'm so sorry… I was told the day and I saw all of the missed messages from you. I am so sorry. I don't know what happened. Please… could you give me another chance. That is if you don't hate me.

Valeriya bit her lower lip softly wondering what that could have meant. What did he mean by that he didn't know what happened? That concerned her the most. Was he missing spots in his memory? She quickly typed back into her phone alerting him of her answer.

It's okay Steven. We can meet up if you wish to talk. Sounds like you need someone to talk to and I'm willing to listen. I want to try and help you figure out what happened. I have something to tell you anyways.

She swallowed the lump in her throat. She could only hope that this wasn't going to shoot her in her foot by telling him the truth that she was the Red Widow. She really needed to tell him before he saw the wax figures of her with the team. He needed to hear it from her. Her phone pinged again making her eyes go back down to the phone. She took a shaky breath as she looked at her phone.

I would love to meet up with you. When shall I meet with you? You have something to tell me? Nothing bad I hope?

Valeriya typed her answer knowing that they needed to see each other as soon as possible. There was no reason to wait. She couldn't wait to tell him this.

Now if you're not busy doing anything Steven, I hope to see you soon.

In the message, she also gave the address of where she was staying. She could only hope that Steven would show up this time and not leave her high and dry.

I'll be there soon. Maybe 20 minutes tops. Thank you for this.

Valeriya's lips quirked a little as she read the message. She gripped the phone in her good hand and put it down on the table. She bit her lip as she got up to her feet. She was concerned about how this meeting with Steven was going to go. After all, he had been quiet all week long and she hadn't heard from him and it worried her of what could have happened.

She stretched out, popping her back some and letting out a soft breath. She looked down at her gloved hand knowing that he would question it sooner or later, but she didn't know how she was going to mention it to him. She headed towards the bathroom to freshen up before Steven arrived at her flat. She hoped in her mind and deep down in her heart that this meeting would end well.

20 minutes later there was a knock on her door.

Valeriya took a deep breath and headed towards the door. She reached out and opened the door. She looked at Steven who looked slightly out a breath. Her brows furrowed. "Did you run here?"

"I missed the bus." He said rather sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"So you thought it was wise to run all the way here?"

Steven nodded his head shyly. "Sorry…"

Valeriya cleared her throat and moved out of the way to allow him into her flat.

Steven came into the flat. "I'm sorry."

"Steven come in fully… have a seat…"

Steven looked up at Valeiya hopeful. "You really want to talk to me sitting down?"

"It's not like I'm going to throw you out of my flat." She said as she walked to the chair that she had been sitting in before.

Steven moved to the lone couch that was in the room. He nervously looked at her. "I don't know what happened… I was looking forward to our meet up that night…"

"You mentioned that you don't remember anything from the day you were to meet up with me and now?"

Steven shook his head lightly. "Honestly no, I don't remember."

Valeriya let out a soft hum in thought. "Hm… sounds like this is something that we should look into together."

Steven looked up at her with wide eyes. "What?"

"Steven." She leaned forward in her chair clasping her hands together looking at him. "I want to help where I can."

"But what if there is no way to help me?"

Valeriya let out a soft chuckle. "I have ways of figuring things out even if they take a while. They wouldn't call me a Widow for nothing."

Steven's head shot up looking at her with wide brown eyes. "You… you're a Widow?" He stuttered out in shock. He hadn't expected to meet one of the Widows ever in his life.

Valeriya cleared her throat. "I'm more known as the Red Widow."

"You're… you're the one… the one that helped Iron Man save everyone."

Valeriya looked down, biting her lower lip softly. "I suppose that's what they say." She admitted softly. She looked up at him shyly. "I wanted to tell you before you saw the exhibit for the Avengers."

"Why didn't you want to tell me before?" He asked softly curiously looking at her of why she didn't want to tell him about herself.

"Because that's all people ever see me as. Is an avenger and nothing more. They don't see me as Valeriya Kozlov."

"That's why you wanted to wait."

She nodded her head.

"And you truly want to help me."

"Yes, I am going to try my best to help you figure out why you are losing precious time in your memories."

Steven got up to his feet and moved towards her kneeling in front of her taking both of her hands in his. "Are you sure about this? We might not like what we find out about why I'm losing my memory."

"I promise you that I want to help you out. No matter what." She said squeezing his hands in hers trying her best to not wince at the pain that she felt in her bad hand.

"Thank you." He said softly as tears filled his eyes with thankfulness. "Thank you."
