Well… I haven't been here in a while, five years to be exact!

If you follow me, you know that I've been focusing on other stories.

However this one is very close to me because it was my first successful story, and one of a What if scenario that even to this day, no one is doing another version of it.

Why did it take so long? I simply lost interest in the Walking Dead all together, but now my interest is at an all time peak.

I will be finishing this story, it will take time, but I will.

But before you guys start reading the chapter, I must remember for those that don't know, I've been rewriting the previous chapter, so before you guys read this, go read the previous ones first.

Next chapter will be in season 2.

Let's get right to it.

Chapter 8- The Great Escape.

It's been three months since that tragic day, where ten community members had been left behind and killed by walkers on a failed supply run that brought nothing to the community.

Luke, Pete, Alvin, Nick and Marie were the only ones who were able to return, Nick had seen a deer and tried to shot it, which he missed by the way, noise attracted the walkers and got the people boxed in, instead of attempting to save the others he told the other 4 to get on the truck and just drive off back to Howes.

His excuse was that there was no way they could have rescued them.

This wasn't a good excuse and Carver didn't forgive, he punched Nick sending him to the nursery and put the 5 survivors into the PEN, they still are sleeping there, Carver lost all trust on those 5, but mostly Luke.

Luke now had no say on the ruling of the community, he no longer went to supply runs nor was he trusted with a security job, he and the rest have been demoted to simple workers and laborers.

But it wasn't just Carver, pretty much the whole community loathed them, they lost the trust and spent their days looking at them with hate, especially the families of the one who died.

Not everyone was like that however:

Carlos wouldn't blame Luke, in his mind Luke was the better leader and the calmest.

Sarah liked Luke and the others, they were their friends.

Rebecca was just glad that Alvin was alive, she even ended up having sex with him a few nights… This is something that I'll have to speak about a bit.

Rebecca was also having sex with Carver, she would continue making announcements on his office and then spending the night there, at first it was to convince Carver to let Alvin and the other out of the PEN, but she was just lying to herself, she now had feeling for Carver, but she still loved Alvin, which made what she now knew painful… she was pregnant, and she knew that it was most likely Carver, she and Alvin had been trying to have children even before the apocalypse they had been trying to have children, Rebecca always wanted to be a mom, but they were never able to as much as they tried… she then fucks Carver and two months later she is now officially pregnant, with morning sickness and everything, the future cabin group took notice of it and she revealed her pregnancy to them, everyone congratulate her and Alvin was overjoyed.

Rebecca was happy to finally be pregnant, but she was scared; scared of how she would raise her baby in a world like this, how the baby would look like, since she knew that it most likely wasn't Alvin's and how would Carver react, she now knew about Carver's backstory and his deceased wife and child, she knew he would want to raise the child and everyone would know about the truth, and the way Carver was changing since that incident.

Carver became more rough, more severe and in a way more tyrannical, there was no more easy street, everyone worked more, trained more and mistakes were more severely punished.

He also took the free time he had managing the community with Clementine, he was showing her the ropes, how to make supplies last, how to lead people, how to give orders, how to make speeches, how to intimidate people, how to incentivize people and how to do inventory and how to work on modern technologies such as the solar panels and electrical ones.

Speaking of Clementine she also had changed and not just physically.

She matured, she was taller, her face matured and most of all she became stronger in both body and mind.

She wore jeans, hard hiking boots (good for stomping), she had a violet long shirt with purple and white stripes on her sleeves, she also wore a violet hard leather jacket with wool lining which would warm her and it was bite proof, the one thing that didn't chance was her hat, while it was getting a bit used up she kept on wearing it.

Her arms were much stronger, even showing some tight muscles on ehr biceps, triceps and shoulders, her belly too showed some change, but she didn't had abs, and her legs too, more muscular, she could run faster and at a longer time, her stamina was unmatched,

She now did her lifting at 10 kg, sometimes even 15 kg, she would try the other machines, she did more push ups, more situps and would do more bar pull overs, she was now the epitome of a child survivor, the mirror image of how the next generation should be.

Her relationship with Carver got better, if anyone didn't tell them they would assume that they were father and daughter.

They spend a lotta time together, they read books, and since they got the solar panels working they would sometimes spend a night watching movies, like the "Titanic", "Pulp Fiction" and even "Spiderman", whenever anyone saw a movie they would take it back, just like if Clementine saw another toy of her Disco Broccoli cartoon she would also take it back to herself.

Johnny kept teaching her martial arts, she could now knock over adults, she could karate kick and even roundhouse kick.

But if there was one person Clementine would call her best friend and maybe even a substitute to Lee, that would be George.

George began teaching her the survival techniques that he promised her; he taught her how to hunt, prepare fish and meat, how to skin an animal and make a blanket, how to sterilize water, how to make a fire (they would use either a lighter or a fire making tool but he also taught her how to make fire with friction), he taught her how to make traps, snares and fishing traps, which berries and mushrooms to eat and also how to make a makeshift bow and arrow.

He taught her how to work with every possible weapon, guns, revolvers, riffles (she was now strong enough to hold a rifle and even fire one), shotguns and even automatic fire weapons like the AK-47. Clementine was now more used to her fully customisable golden gun and knew how to work with all the add ons.

He taught her knife play and military combat techniques, she learned how to disassemble a gun, he taught her how to disarm someone and most of all he taught her CQC. Clementine learned to while pointing her gun with one hand, she should always have her knife on the other one (Like Solid Snake), George even taught her how to kill someone by breaking their necks, he showed her how to kill someone if they tried to rape her, by biting the neck or tongue and he told her that if they had her pinned on her back, she would need to break his arms, put her arms in the middle and then spreads her arms as strongly ans she can (he showed her how) and then wrap her legs around the rapist neck and then break it, (Clem was also taught about the birds and bees and about menstruation), Clem now knew how to break bones, noses, arms, wrists and even legs.

Clementine also knew how to take care of herself, how to cure wounds, sew wounds and disinfect them.

She was like a survival machine in the form of a child, her innocent and sweet appearance was only a perfect disguise which she would use to trick people who underestimate her.

But she still kept her humanity to a certain degree, she loved to help people and the members of her home, she got along with pretty much everyone, Bonnie was one of the people she worked more with, she became friends with Wyatt who even gave her a cigarette once (she didn't like it), Russel was the one she spent more time when it came to her guarding duties, Shel was pleasant to stay around and Clementine enjoyed her company, Vince trained a lot with her, he was a good spotter when she was using the weight bar.

Sarah was still her friend, Clementine had managed to taught her the basics of shooting behind Carlos back, she got along with Pete they would talk about fishing, hunting and stuff, she got along with Nick's mother too, she would work with Alvin from time to time and she had a good relationship with Rebecca, just like Carver, she became quite the female motherly figure to her, and Clementine was starting to notice the growth on her stomach.

But there was also the people that Clementine disliked:

Troy is on that list for obvious reasons, everyone hated him, the only reason why she hadn't killed him yet, was because Carver wouldn't allow it.

Nick was still the same grumpy grump when it came to her, he was always underestimating her and she was getting tired of his attitude.

Becca was always jealous of Clementine, she once again since that incident with the pot tried messing with Clem, who in response punched the older girl in the stomach so hard that she vomited what she had eaten that morning.

Carlos annoyed Clementine to no end, he treated her like a little girl, didn't take into consideration anything she said and wouldn't even consider teaching Sarah how to survive on her own, but because he was the only doctor he got a pass.

Finally there was Luke, Clementine didn't hate him, but she knew that he wasn't fit to lead the community. She was annoyed by his moralistic rubbish and by his unwillingness to change, Luke might be able to lead a small group of people, but not a community.

And the future would reveal just how he would lead a group of people.

Two Weeks later.

At the training yard, Clementine and George are doing their daily exercise, with weights and cardio.

Once they finish, George praises Clementine.

"You're getting better Clem, I'm starting to notice your muscles, you'll be bigger than Arnold one of these days" He laughed.

Clementine giggled "He has way too much muscle, it's kinda gross, he looks much better when he gets older."

"I agree, when he's on "Pumping Iron" he looks like he's on steroids" He remembered.

"I just want to be strong, I'm starting to feel it, I sometimes get sore but it's a pleasant one." Clementine describes.

"I know that feeling and I love it, it's the score of champions."

Clementine giggled as she left the training yard, she noticed the PEN and stopped on her tracks.

George noticed and stopped as well "Something in your mind."

Clementine thinked for a moment "They are still sleeping in the PEN, even after three and a half months."

George shrugged "Bill decided when they leave, with due respect, they deserve it."

"I know… but I feel like they are growing more unhappy by the day, them and the others like Carlos, Reggie and even Sarah, I suspect that they might be planning on something."

This caught George's curiosity "Like what?"

She shrugged "I don't know… maybe they are planning to attack Carver and take his place?"

George chuckles "Not possible, they are outgunned and outmanned, that would never work."

"Maybe they're planning an escape."

George thinked about it "If they're dumb enough to do that, they would regret it, there's nothing out there it's completely picked clean, they'd just be endangering their lives… if they try that we must stop them."

"Why? If they want to leave, there'll be less mouths to feed." Clementine asked, confused.

"And we'd also have less people to defend, border and pick up the food… I could live without Luke and Nick, but they would take Carlos who's our only real doctor, Sarah who's a girl who wouldn't survive out there on her own… and there's Rebecca, you noticed her stomach haven't you?" George asked, changing the topic.

"I did, that means she's got a baby right?"

"Yeah and let me tell you this… I don't think it's Alvin's." George started gossiping.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean… you know she goes to his office to make announcements, I think she and Carver have been, how do I say… Intimate?" George said, trying to find words to explain the ten year old.

Clementine sorta understood "You mean they've been kissing stuff?" She asked before making a gag face "That's gross…"

George chuckled "Well they might disagree with you on that one, but anyway the point is, Rebecca would never be able to raise a baby out there, if they do try to make a run for it, we need to stop it, for the sake of her and the baby."

Clementine now understood why it was important for them to stay in the safety of this community. "I'll keep an eye out."

George smiled "Good, now let's go, we got work to do."

Nighttime on the PEN

On the PEN by the fire a circle was formed, this circle consisted of; Luke, Nick, Marie, Pete, Alvin, Rebecca, Carlos was there and so was Sarah, lastly there was Reggie and also Bonnie.

They were having a meeting and the topic was the same on everyone's mind.

The possibility of escaping from Howe's and making on their own out there.

The reason for their discontent was Bill's change of attitude and the harshness of the community.

Most of them wanted to leave, but two of them were still in doubt, which was Rebecca and Bonnie.

Bonnie has a crush on Luke, that was no secret, there were even rumors that they had sex, but nothing was proven.

Rebecca simply was nervous about the baby, she didn't know what to do, should she leave or stay.

Luke broke the silence "Alright… so I think we need to start talking about it."

"What's there to talk about it, we need to ge the fuck outta this place." Nick yelled out.

"Calm down son, you're gonna attract attention." Pete scolded.

"I ain't your son!"

"Oh will the both of you just shut up already, I ain't got the patience for your bickering tonight!" Marie shuts them down.

They quiet down.

Luke speaks again:

"Look the thing is, life here ain't like what it used to be, Bill's becoming more violent, more unhinged and more unpredictable… he keeps punishing us from honest mistakes we made in the past, we can't keep on living like this, we gotta take our chances outside."

Most people nodded.

"Bill scares the crap outta me, it's like if I make the simplest of mistakes he might throw me off the roof." Reggie made his concerns known.

"I can't keep going on like this, I spend most of my nights alone and so does Becc, now that she's pregnant I can't have that, I need to be more present and if Bill ain't willing to let bygones be bygones, then I say we leave." Alvin made his opinion known.

"We ain't happy here, I'm tired of not seeing eye to eye with Bill, it's putting a strain on my relationship with my sister and nephew." Pete explained "We can easily live off the woods, I'd rather be out there, then locked up here."

"Carver's a prick, I can't stand the sight of him." Marie nodded.

Nick obviously had the same opinion.

Now it was time for Carlos to say "This place is not good for my daughter, Bill wants Sarah to carry a gun and learn to shoot, I can't have that." Carlos made his concerns "Just look at how he raises Clementine, he makes her lift weights, carry guns and go out on patrols, he is a bad influence for my daughter and in consequence so is Clementine."

Sarah stayed quiet with her head down, too nervous to talk back, she didn't want her father to be disappointed… but she also wanted to defend her friend in some way, she just didn't have the courage.

Rebecca didn't like the way Carlos talked about Clem "Don't judge her Carlos, Clementine's just doing her best to make this community better, we live in a world gone to shit, she's just adapted." she defended her surrogate daughter "Well anyway, we need to plan this if we're gonna go through with this, we're safe here and if I'm going to take my chances out there."

Bonnie seemed to agree. "Yeah, I don't know Luke, we know what to expect here, out there we don't have a clue of what might happen', I just don't know if it's a good idea."

Luke was getting frustrated but he kept calm "Rebecca look, I don't want to leave without you, and Bonnie if you really wanna stay I won't stop you, I just ask you to keep quiet about."

"I won't snitch." She promised.

"And look I don't wanna leave Clem, I'd love if she could come with us… but damn it she and Bill are like two peas in a pod, she won't leave and if we talk about it she'll definitely tell Bill, she's better off here." Luke explained.

"I'll talk to Bill, maybe I can convince him to get you guys off the PEN and change things for the better." Rebecca suggested.

Alvin looked a bit confused, why would Carver listen to Rebecca, well he didn't let that bother him, it would be better if she could be able to convince Carver to change his attitude.

"Look, if I can make Bill change, then I guess we could stay, if not then we'll leave." Luke explained.

Rebecca was going to try one last time to calm the situation, but if push came to shove she would have to choose her husband, they still loved each other, even if she was only able to have a child by loving another man.

The next day

midday

Rebecca went up to Bill's office, he climbed up the stairs and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

She heard from behind the door.

"It 's me."

The door opens and Rebecca sees a smiling Carver

"Well… you're here earlier than I expected." He joked "I didn't know you missed me that much."

Rebecca rolled her eyes "Bill let me in, we need to talk."

He raises a brow, but nevertheless he lets her in, Bill sits on his chair and Rebecca sits on her.

He's looking at her belly, who is starting to show, he smiles foundly.

"How 's my boy?"

Rebecca got annoyed. "Stop that Bill, we're not even sure if it's yours."

"Wrong sweetie, you're the one who's not sure, I know it's mine." He asserted "You try to get pregnant with Alvin for years and you never could, you then bunk with me and you get pregnant, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out."

"Until the baby's born we won't know." Rebecca had the final word "Anyway that's not why I came here."

"What is it then honey?"

Rebecca took a deep breath before talking.

"The people on the PEN are unhappy Bill.

"So's the community and the families of those that died because of them." Carver answered not amused.

"It's been almost three months Bill, if you don't wanna take them on supply runs that's just fine, but at least take them outta of the PEN."

"Look if you want Alvin off the PEN, I can do that, but I still don't trust the others." He gets up and gets in front of Rebecca "I can't bring them back into the community until I can trust them and until the other workers can."

"We're in this together Bill, we need to let the past stay in the past!" Rebecca replies, getting frustrated.

Bill reaches and cups Rebecca's check "Look I know things are hard, but this child is all that matters, we'll raise it together, the right way, like how I'm raising Clem."

Rebecca doesn't shy away from his touch, but she eventually gets up from her chair, knowing fully well that Carver isn't going to change his mind.

"We aren't sure about anything Bill, the child may not be yours."

Carver sighed, he knew it was his baby, but he was willing to wait.

Rebecca start to walk away

"If it's Alvin's kid then I'm sure you two will be great parents." Bill starts out "If it's mine, then I will be raising that child Rebecca, we both will and I won't hide that fact from anyone."

Rebecca stops for a second, before leaving the office, what she had to do was now very much clear to her.

As much as it would pain her in the future, she couldn't have people know the truth, she needed to leave and go try and get a new life with Alvin.

She goes off the stairs and spots Luke who's nailing a board, she approaches and he notices her.

"How'd it go?"

"As well as you expect." She complained.

Luke sighed "So what'd you wanna do?"

"We need to leave, he's not going to change, we'll take our changes." Rebecca finally decided.

Luke nodded in agreement.

"Me and the guys will take care of everything, just start gathering some supplies if you can."

They both were in agreement, Luke kept on hammering and Rebecca walked away.

"Rebecca?" Someone called out, the soon to be mother turns and sees Clementine.

She's wearing her clothes with her jacked, gun strapped on the left side of her belt, knife on the right.

Rebecca is surprised to see Clementine "Oh, sorry sweetie I didn't see you there." She smiled.

Clementine smiled back "That's alright, so how's the baby?"

"She's growing." She fondles her growing belly.

"How do you know it's a girl?" the child asked.

Rebecca shrugged, "I don't know, I just got a feeling that it's going to be a girl… but whatever gender it is, the baby will be beautiful."

"I know it will, I can't wait to meet him or her." Clementine said "I'll be a big sister then."

Rebecca looked a bit conflicted and taken back, on one hand she wanted Clementine to meet the baby and be a big sister to it.

But on the other hand she knew that she was going to leave in a few days.

She felt guilty, she wanted to take her with them, but then again she knew Clementine wouldn't want to leave.

But she had to ask, but just can't give any hints.

"Look Clem… how would you feel about getting out of Howe's and taking a chance outside?"

Clementine looked up to the woman, her expression showed a bit of surprise, but she kept her true feelings in check.

"Why do you ask?"

Rebecca tries to play it off.

"Just curious you know, just wanted to know your opinion on this topic sweetie."

Clementine furrowed her brows but kept a straight face.

"We're safe here, I've learned how to survive thanks to this community, we have food, water, electricity, the people are nice… most of them anyway." She started naming all the good things "You and the baby are safe here, out there it isn't, I know how it is and let me tell you Rebecca that it's harder outside, whatever problems you have here they'll double outside these walls."

Rebecca heard the little girl's words andher comments were definitely valuable, but she had personal reasons for wanting to leave, and as sad as she would be, she would at least be glad that Clementine will be safe here.

"You're not planning on leaving, are you Rebecca?" Clementine asked with a slight glare.

"Of course not sweetie, I was just sayin'" She lied "Well we should go back to our shores, see you at dinner Clem."

Clementine nodded and went on away from the pregnant woman.

She found George who was waiting for her.

"So what do you think, are they making an escape plan?"

Clementine nodded "Definitely, Rebecca tried to hide it, but I could see right through her."

George shakes his head "Fucking morons are actually going to pull something this stupid."

"We need to stop them, should we tell Bill?" Clementine asked.

Thinking for a moment George shakes his head "Let's just keep a close eye on them for the meantime, when the time comes we might be able to stop them without bloodshed."

Clementine didn't exactly agree with George on that aspect, but George had always been right, so perhaps she should just follow the plan.

But the thing about plans on the Apocalypse is that they don't always go as planned.

Three days later.

Nighttime.

The Pen dwellers were fixin' to leave tonight.

During these days they had planned to escape, it was a full moon night and there were no walkers in sight which would mean that the guards would be less attentive.

Reggie was the one who was supposed to keep a watch on the south exit, but as you know he was leaving with the group, so he made sure no one was watching the exit.

Rebecca got some supplies, canned stuff, oatmeal, rice, beans, juice boxes, water and obviously she had to get some baby formula.

Luke and Nick got a few weapons, a couple rifles, some pistols, a machete, knives and ammo.

Carlos got some medication, pills and disinfectant. He did feel bad to leave the people, but his daughter is all that mattered. Howe did have another medical practice, but she was not that knowledgeable and she was more used to working with children, she would just have to be self taught using medical books.

Luke and the rest were waiting for Reggie to open the gate of the PEN.

"I can't believe we're really doing this." Sarah looked nervous.

"We have to Sarah, it's for the best." Carlos calmly explained

"But what about Clementine, she's my best friend, can't I say goodbye to her." Sarah asked, a bit distressed.

"We can't take that risk Sarah, I'm sure Clementine will understand." Luke said, trying to calm the young girl.

But Sarah wasn't the only one who felt a bit guilty about the whole situation, Marie felt bad about leaving the little who she grew fond of, Pete also had some good times with the girl, telling about hunting stories and stuff, Alvin felt bad too.

Rebecca, as I have mentioned, was the one who felt the worst. She felt bad for the fact that she wasn't going to see the baby be born, and she wouldn't be a big sister, but in Rebecca's mind she needed to do this, as much as it would hurt.

The PEN gate opened, and out came Reggie.

"Alright guys, the coast is clear, I called the guards at the south gate and sent them into a wild goose chase." Reggie chuckled, "We just need to open the south gate and move out."

"Good job Reggie." Luke praised. "This is it people, now I'm aware that this is risky, but it's something we have all agreed to do." Luke turned to the group "we'll opent he south gate and just go forward from there, just stick together and go into the woods, hopefully by the time they realized that we're gone we'll be a few good miles away from here."

Everyone agreed, they grabbed their backpacks and exited the PEN.

Sneakily heading towards the gate, Reggie did a good job on tricking the guards. There was no one there, this was going to be easy… perhaps too easy.

As they see the gate, Pete and Reggie open it and they can see the outdoors. There were few walkers on sight, the coast was clear and no one suspected a thing…

But things don't always fully work out according to plan.

As they were heading out, the sound of an AK startled them.

"I shoulda fucking know, you people were gonna pull this stunt."

The group turns around and sees George holding an AK and Clementine at his side pointing her golden pistol, she has her laser sight on and pointing at Nick's forehead.

Nick is holding a rifle.

"Better put that rifle down boy, I guarantee you she won't miss unlike you trigger happy son of a bitch!." George treathen.

Nick doesn't seem to listen, so Peter takes his rifle away.

"Let's all calm down here, no need to point guns." Pete tried calming things down.

"I'm cool as a cucumber Pete, do I look nervous to you?" He joked "And I do need the guns, so I can stop y'all from doing a big fuckin' mistake!"

"This ain't none of your business!" Nick yelled out.

"I'd stay outta this if I were you boy, or Clem might get trigger happy." George warned.

Marie gets in between Nick and Clem's gun, who looks at the older woman in surprise.

"Clem honey, just put the gun down please."

Clemetine looks conflicted, but not wanting to hurt the woman, she puts it down, but the gun is still in her hands.

Luke needs to calm down the situation, he doesn't want things to get violent.

"George, there's no need for this." Luke approaches with his hands up.

George aims at him.

"I shoulda known you'd want to run away, you've always been weak Luke, I just wasn't expecting you dragging eight of our community members to your crusade of bullshit!"

"Did Bonnie snitch?" Nick questiona.

George looked surprised for a second.

"Oh so Bonnie knew about this, why ain't she here?"

"She changed her mind." Luke revealed.

"I guess her brain wasn't fully fried with the dope, since she's clearly smarter than all y'all."

"How can you do this Luke, putting all our friends in danger?" Clementine shouted.

Luke looked at Clementine with sympathy.

"Clem Look… We can't stay here, we have to leave, Bill isn't a good leader Clem and we're tired of his ruling, we just want to take our chances out there." Luke tried to reason "We'd love to take you with us, but at this point I think you're too deep in, I wish you could see the reality of this."

Clementine glared "I know the reality, and the truth is we're safe here, we have food, water, beds and even electricity, out there there's nothing, it's everyone to himself, it's surrounded by bandits and cannibals, we don't have to worry about that in here."

"You should listen to the girl, y'all don't know half of what she's been through, more than you ungrateful pricks, I can't believe any of you!" George é criticado.

"Look George, we just want freedom, we're tired of the pressure of being around Bill." Reggie tried to justify.

"You shut the fuck up, you pussy!" He snapped at the middle eastern man "I expected Luke to pull this shit, but I never thoguht you'd be a part of it Reggie, was there an insufficient feather on your fucking pillow?"

He then looks to Carlos "And you, you're just gonna leave everyone without a doctor, not caring about the people that housed you, fed you, kept your daughter outta arms away, Bill is barely harsh to your daughter and you're just gonna leave?!"

"My daughter is safe with me, she doesn't need to be locked in these walls."

"She'll be missing these walls when a group a bandits, takes her and rapes her until she's stretched like a fucking rubber band!" He yelled out making Sarah jump in fear who hid behind her father "You want that to happen, because there's fuckers like that, sick basterds that'sll force you to watch or make you participate, she only knows the basics because of Clem, you couldn't even bother."

Carlos glared at Clementine "I told you not to teach my daughter those things, you had no right!"

Clementine glared back "Go fuck yourself Carlos, for someone who claims to be a doctor, you're really stupid."

"I agree." George said before turning to Rebecca and Alvin "I can't believe you're with them Rebecca and you as well Alvin, you think think giving birth will be easy out there, you think you can just raise a baby like in the old times, what happens when you run outta food, outta formula, outta bullets, what if the baby gets sick, what if you get bitten out there, what are y'all gonna do then."

"I can't stay with George, I can't be in a place where I don't think my child will be happy." Rebecca tried to justify, rubbing her belly.

"I need to do what's best for my wife George, I know you understand that, so just put the gun down and let us go, whatever happens out there we'll face it together." Alvin tried to reason with George, they had been friendly for years now.

George was getting frustrated, he thought he could convince these people that going out there was a bad idea.

Clementine in a last ditch effort, looks at Rebecca giving her the puppy dog eyes.

"Please stay Rebecca, I don't want you to get hurt, I want to hold the baby and watch him grow, please don't go." Clementine sounded desperate.

Rebecca looked down with a frown.

"I'm sorry sweetie, but I can't as much as I love you. I gotta do what's right for my child." she explained "You can still come with us Clem, we can be happy as a family, and find ourselves a new home."

"That's right, you're more than welcome to come with us." Alvin smiled down at the girl.

Clementine was conflicted, but she couldn't leave the man who had taken her in and raised her as his own daughter; she just couldn't.

"I can't abandon Rebecca, nor my friends, I just can't do that."

The whole situation was sad and upsetting.

It was also to George who grew more angry.

"You know what, I'm gettin' tired of this shit, I'm giving y'all too many choices, you can go back to the PEN and your rooms and we'll pretend this never happened." He began "Or you can go Luke."

Luke fica confuso.

"You're letting me go?"

"Yeah, you'll do me and Howe's a fucking favor, take this trigger happy motherfucker while you're at it." He said looking at Nick "Take any of these ungrateful pricks, but leave the supplies, the guns and the medicine here."

"You can't just let us go unprotected." Luke complained.

"Be glad I'm even letting you guys go with clothes… but Rebecca's going nowhere, neither Sarah nor Carlos." George looks at Rebecca "This is for the best, for your child, you may hate me now, but you'll thank me one day."

Alvin got defensive.

"Why can't you just let us go, you can take the supplies, but just give us a chance."

George chuckled, "You think Bill is just gonna let this go, you think he won't search high and low for all of you… you think he won't be looking for her."

Rebecca was taken back, silently pleading for George not to reveal what he clearly knew.

Alvin just got confused and was also getting angry.

"The hell are you talking about!?"

"You really don't know… you blind fucking fool!" He takes his walkie talkie while still pointing to the ak "I gave y'all a chance, shoulda taken it." He presses the button "Come in Bill, we got a situation at the South gate."

The talkie buzzes and comes Bill's voice

"What sorta situation George?"

BANG

A shot rang, he dropped the talkie.

"What was that, George, do you copy?" Bill asked on the talkie.

Clementine's eyes are widened, she is in disbelief.

"No…please no."

But it was, George looks to his chest where he sees a blood stain rapidly spreading, showing where he had been shot.

He looks up and sees the smoking barrel of Alvin's gun, he looked conflicted like he couldn't believe what he had just done.

George looked at him, gave him a blank expression… he then went down.

Clementine rushes to him and holds his head.

"No, no you can't die… please!" Clementine whimpers, tears in her eyes, she now sees herself in the same situation she had been about a year ago.

The group was all shocked, Rebecca covered her mouth and tears welled up on her eyes, Sarah is crying openly with Carlos trying to calm her, everyone else has a face of regret, this is not what they wanted.

Especially Luke who wanted no bloodshed, this was supposed to be a simple escape.

But they had no choice now, they had to run.

"Grab the stuff, we gotta go."

Everyone grabs the supplies and with a heavy heart they begin running.

Leaving Clementine with her dying friend.

"Clem…" George whispers, he coughs blood.

"Don't talk George, we can get you fixed up, Alice can fix you up I'm sure of it." She desperately told me.

George smiles "I got shot in the chest darlin', this is it for me, ain't nothing anyone can do now."

Clementine shakes her head, more tears pour out of her eyes.

"Don't say that, I don't want to lose anyone else, I lost Lee… all because of me."

George reaches out and touches her cheek-

"You've done nothing wrong, none of this is your fault, not Lee's death and not mine." He coughs again "Hell, I can't even really blame Alvin, he decided that I was a threat to his family, so he took action, like I would if somebody did something to you."

Clementine felt angry and sad at what they did, she felt vengeance beginning to weld up.

"You need to keep going Clem, you need to get Rebecca and Sarah back to safety, you need to protect the baby when it's born, you need to lead this community when the time is right."

"But… you were supposed to be there."

He smiles sadly.

"That's my only regret honey, not being there when you become the leader, but I know you'll do great." He coughs up more blood, he knows his time is up. "I'm glad to have met you Clementine, you're a bright light in this dark world, promise me you'll keep moving forward and that you won't let the light be extinguished."

She sobs "I promise."

He smiles at her one last time.

"Good… good." His breath becomes weaker and his eyes heavy. "I'll miss you… sweet pea."

Those were his final words, before he became limp.

George was dead.

Clementine continued to sob.

"Clementine?" She looks up and sees Bonnie "What happened?"

Bonnie is shocked at the sight.

Clementine gets up, gently laying George and closing his eyes, she wipes the tears.

"Alvin killed him." Rage begins to build up, she couldn't let them get away with this, she grabs her golden gun, shoots George on the head, preventing him from turning.

She then turns to the open gate, she can still see the fugitives.

In a fit of rage, she gives out a cry of rage and starts sprinting after them, wildly shooting at the group, only making sure not to hit Rebecca or Sarah.

She is shooting at the group, they are still far away, so the bullets don't seem to be hitting them.

Until one is able to land on Reggie's leg, he falls down with a cry, he begs for the group to help him but they just keep running.

Clementine aimed at a running Alvin with the intent of killing him, but when she pulled the trigger, the gun jammed (it was outta bullets).

In a fit of rage she yells out "I'll find you all, I will kill you, DO YOU HEAR ME!"

She takes a deep breath and sees Reggie on the ground, she glares at him and pulls out her knife.

She slowly approached him with murder in her eyes.

Reggie tries to drag himself away from the girl.

"Wait Clementine, we didn't mean for any of this to happen, please don't kill me!"

She punches him right in the nose making blood pour out of the nostrils.

"I'll cut you piece by piece and feed you to the fucking walkers!"

She lifts the knife but before can start cutting, she is interrupted.

"CLEMENTE!" She turns and sees Bill with Bonnie, Wyatt and Vince. "Put the knife down."

She does so but she then with a cry, she sprints back to Howe's

"Clementine came back here!" He ordered, but the little girls just entered the community and went to someplace.

Carver looks at Reggie with an evil glare.

"Get this fucking traitor tied up and into the PEN, I'll deal with him later."

Carver went back to Howe's, where he once again saw the body of George, who was the community's favorite worker.

He couldn't let this go unpunished, they not only took his unborn child, they also had taken the life of a beloved friend.

Looking to his right he sees Troy holding to his groin.

Troy looks and sees the leader "Bill, Clementine just came here runnin' and when I tried to stop her she kicked me in the dick."

Not caring for his pain he just goes straight to the point.

"Where was she heading'?"

"To the gym I guess."

Carver goes to the Gym and sees Clementine hitting a punching bag, bare knuckled, she keeps hitting it over and over until her knuckles bleed.

Carver grabs her and pulls her for a hug, she struggles at first, until she sees who it is, she embraces him and cries on his chest.

"It's alright honey." He soothed.

"We can't let them get away with this!" She said in between sobs.

"We won't… but we'll need to bring them back, to where it's safe." Carver explained.

She wipes her tears "We have to find it before the baby is born."

"And we will honey, we will." He swore.

Clementine drifts off to sleep, Carver carries her to her room and puts her to bed.

He would need to assess this situation, but right now he and the entire community will need to mourn the death of a friend.

But he will find them, no matter where they are, they will find them.

So that's the end of the one chapter I was excited to write.

It was quite the emotional rollercoaster.

So the next time you play season 2, whenever they mention George, just think of the one I wrote in this story.

Next chapter will be starting season 2.

Be sure to leave a review and suggestions on how the story should change.

Until next time.
