On Lincoln's birthday, he woke up. Lucy was waiting with his breakfast. He smiled and ate every bite.
After breakfast, he went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He then got ready and came downstairs to see a few decorations.
"Happy birthday, Lincoln. " Lucy says.
"Thanks, sis." Lincoln says.
With Luke, he was practicing for the fall play. He got the lead role as SpongeBob in the school's production of SpongeBob: The Musical. He was beyond excited.
Luna was happy for him. So was Garrett.
"I want a grand party." Luke says.
In New York, a woman named April was walking. She wanted to be a reporter. A big one.
When it hit New York that Luke would appear there soon, she was excited. Every reporter dreams of interviewing Luke.
One problem. She was in New York. She sighed.
With Lincoln, he heads to school. He's surprised to see Luke got there before him.
"Hey, Luke." Lincoln says as the school was flooded with reporters taking pictures of and wanting interviews with Luke.
"One side, one side!" Garrett says. "Don't crowd him!"
Lucy looked worried about Luke. Luke smiled for the cameras.
Haiku smiled, but she was worried about Lucy.
Lincoln snuck away as he saw his friends.
Lucy noticed this. "Big brother?" Lucy asked Lincoln. She was worried about him.
She walked to him. She saw Lincoln talking to his friends about the new David Steele movie they plan to see after school.
Lucy sighed in relief.
With Luke during lunch, he sat with Garrett, grinning.
"All the attention is on me!" Luke says.
"I know!" Garrett says. "I'm so happy for you! I can't believe you got a lead part in the fall play!"
Luke begins to eat his food as he smiles. Soon, Lincoln notices Luke as Luke tells Lincoln about the play, smiling.
"That's amazing!" Lincoln says.
With Lucy, she watches Lincoln talk to Luke about the fall play. She fidgets while writing poems.
Luke smiles as he shows Lincoln the design for his SpongeBob costume.
Lucy thinks of Halloween this year. There was going to be a competition and she wanted to win.
She starts planning her competition entries.
After school, Lincoln invites Luke along to see the movie with him and his friends. Luke grins and nods, then goes to the theater with Lincoln and his friends.
Lynn had brought a gift for Lincoln. She wanted him to have an awesome birthday. But Lincoln's party wasn't going to be at the theater.
The plan was to go to the David Steele movie, then to Gus' Games & Grub, and then back to the house for presents and cake. That's how Lincoln planned it.
The movie started as Luke, Lincoln, and his friends all watched it. After that, Luke joined the group at Gus' Games & Grub, playing games, eating garlic knots, and drinking large amounts of soda, and of course, winning prizes with their tickets. For the first time in a long time, Luke was having fun with Lincoln. Lincoln was having a blast.
Luke and Lincoln head to the house with his friends.
There were decorations all over the house. Lincoln was surprised.
"Happy Birthday, Lincoln!" The siblings say.
"Thanks, everyone!" Lincoln says. Lucy smiled.
Lincoln soon opens his presents, starting with Luke's.
Luke got him a limited edition Muscle Fish figure. Lincoln gasped and smiled at Luke.
Lucy had a gift for him, which was a new Ace Savvy comic. Lincoln smiled and thanked Lucy.
Lincoln opened Lynn's gift to see a new Detroit Tigers t-shirt in orange. Lincoln put on the shirt before thanking Lynn.
Latert, it was time to eat cake. Luan smiled and brought out the orange and blue cake with a picture of Ace Savvy in the icing. It read "Happy 13th Birthday, Lincoln!" in blue icing. The candles were all lit.
Everyone sang to Lincoln as he smiled.
Lincoln smiled at this as he thought of his birthday wish.
He wished Luke could have a good birthday for once as he then blew out his candles.
Luke ate his cake, looking sad and nervous.
"Luke, listen, I promise your birthday will be good." Luna says. "You'll be loved beyond measure and so much more!"
Luke sighed and hugged Luna. He sure hoped she was right.
3 weeks later, the day of the fall play arrived. Luke felt a little nervous as he tried on his costume.
His siblings were there and he saw Luna in the front row.
"You're going to do great!" Leni says to Luke. Luke smiled a bit.
The play started a few minutes later. Luke took his role very seriously as he performed on stage.
People loved him. Luke smiled as he kept performing.
Luke smiled once the play ended and he took his final bow. He got a standing ovation. People even took pictures of him. Luke smiled.
Leni had recorded the whole play. Luna cheered for Luke.
"We gotta get ice cream sundaes! Luke's got a future as a stage actor!" Luna says.
Luke smiled at Luna. "Hot fudge sundaes or warm caramel sundaes? I'm partial to both." Luke says.
They go to Mary Scooper's Scoop-a-Torium, Luke's favorite ice cream shop. Luke thinks of what to order, and decides to get a warm caramel sundae with colorful star sprinkles, whipped cream, crushed Oreos, and caramel M&M's. No cherry on top.
Leni took a picture of Luke with his sundae before he ate it. Luke was very happy.
