Burchard finds himself silently sitting in Emilia's room while she rummages around her desk looking for something. Though he tries, he is unable to hide the nervous look he was sporting while sitting there stiff as a board while thinking, "shit shit shit shit shit. What the hell do I even do? I want to leave but if I do then I'd make her sad then be murdered by a cat but if I stay in here too long then that Subaru guy is going to get the wrong idea and kill me….. and that Ram chick is probably going to kill me before the other two can."

His head drops as he sighs disheartedly while thinking, "so I'm dead either way."

-

A thought of hope comes to mind as he looks up and over at the nearby window while thinking, "but if I make a mad dash through the window and out the front gate then I might have a chance."

His eyes lock on the window as he readies himself for what he assumes will be a literal run for his life but before he could make a break for it, he gets caught off guard by Emilia saying loudly, "found it!!!"

-

He immediately straightens up and tries his best to look innocent but is confused to see her walking back to him holding a small green gem. He studies it curiously while she walks up to him while saying, "this should do the trick."

-

Confused as to what she meant, he continues to look at the gem while asking, "what is that?"

-

She looks back at him equally as confused while holding up the gem and asking, "you don't know what this is?"

-

He shakes his head then replies, "no. I've never seen anything like that before."

-

She keeps looking at him confused while saying, "oh?"

-

She starts to smile while continuing, "then id be glad to tell you."

-

She hands the gem to him while saying, "this is a special mana gem that lets me enhance my magic."

-

He holds it up and let's the light from the nearby lamp shine off it while saying, "that sounds pretty useful actually ."

-

She takes the gem back while responding, "normally I wouldn't have enough mana to perform healing magic so I have to use one of these."

-

She pulls up a chair and takes a seat directly in front of him and gently grabs his cut arm while saying, "now let's fix you up."

-

Her touch causes him to immediately tenses up and resumes his board like stature while thinking, "relax! Just relax! She's just touching you to heal you. There's no way that Subaru guy or that cat can get the wrong idea."

-

He continues to stay tense as she concentrates on his injury and holds the gem in her hand and over the wound. A soft green light starts to emanate from the palm of her hand and comforts his arm with it's warmth. He looks at his arm wide eyed while feeling the warmth growing in intensity as he thinks, "so this is what healing magic feels like? It feels…. nice."

She continues to look at his arm intently but with the light starting to dissipate, her expression softens and as she pulls back her hand, she looks at him with a smile while saying, "there, you're all patched up."

-

He looks at his arm and is surprised to see the gash now gone though he wasn't able to focus on this for long as he notices something else on his arm while thinking, "why the hell is she still holding onto me?"

-

He attempts to nonchalantly pull away his arm while innocently smiling back at her and saying, "thank you. I really appreciate it."

-

To his dismay she doesn't let go and instead seems to tighten her grip while smiling back at him while responding, "your very welcome."

-

His smile slowly leaves him as he nervously asks, "uh…. Could you let me go?"

-

She looks back at him confused but when she looks down, becomes mortified to see her hand still firmly gripping his arm which intern causes her to turn bright red as she let's go and leans back while blurting out, "sorry!!!"

-

Starting to panic, Burchard raises his hands while blurting back, "it's fine!!!"

-

Emilia continues to stand their bright red from embarrassment while saying, "no no! I shouldn't have held onto you for that long!!!"

-

Her head immediately snaps down as she bows to him while continuing, "please forgive me!!!"

-

She stands there with her eyes closed tightly and facing the ground while hoping that she hadn't scared him off again but that thought got interrupted by a strange, muffled sound which causes her to slowly look up only to see Burchard still sitting there smirking and struggling to muffle his laugh. Becoming more embarrassed and now annoyed, she straitens up and pouts with her fists planted on her hips while looking at him with annoyance and asking, "and what is so funny?"

Realizing he got caught, he was able to calm down enough to look back at her but continues to try and hide his smile while replying, "sorry, you're reaction was just really funny."

-

His response only causes her to turn even redder as her embarrassment is completely replaced by the annoyance she now feels as she crosses her arms while looking away and saying, "humph! It's not nice to laugh at someone you know."

-

Realizing that he was actually being pretty rude, Burchard stops laughing and while feeling bad, he lowers his head while responding, "I'm sorry. It was rude of me to laugh at you. Please forgive me."

-

She continues to look away with annoyance but finds herself curious about the silence that now filled the room so she sneakily peaks over only to see his head still hanging low. She immediately looks away and continues to cross her arms but slowly her head creeks back and looks at the top of his helmet and with a feeling of guilt starting to take over, she sighs disheartedly then faces him while saying, "I forgive you."

After a brief pause, his head slowly rises and he looks back at her with a relieved smile while responding, "thank you."

-

He starts to stand while saying, "well I don't know about you but I'm hungry so why don't we head…."

-

For reasons unknown to him, she puts her hands up to him and in a panic blurts out, "wait!"

-

He freezes in place and continues to look at her wide eyed while thinking, "oh come on!!! Do you want me to die?"

-

Even though he thinks that he decides it was best to simply ask, "uh… what's up?"

-

She starts tapping her fingers together while a look of guilt crosses her face as she asks, "uh… well the thing is, since the last time we tried talking got interrupted, I was wondering if we could talk now?"

-

He looks back at her blankly while her words slowly scroll though his head until he finally thinks to himself, "why is she so adamant on talking to me?"

-

Realizing that it probably wouldn't end well to ask, he decides to ignore the question and instead smiles at her while replying, "sure."

-

As if she was ready for him to say no, she suddenly beams with glee while blurting out, "really?"

-

Not exactly surprised by her overly energetic personality at this point, he simply smiles while saying, "yeah."

-

Though a worrying thought comes to mind which causes him to ask, "but doesn't your floating cat not like me talking to you?"

-

He looks her up and down once more then continues, "especially with how your dressed?"

-

Confused, she looks down to figure out what he meant and seeing her night gown causes her to remember what happened the morning before but to his surprise, she looks at him while laughing and waving him off and saying, "oh you don't have to worry, puck doesn't usually come out until breakfast and besides, I already talked to him about what happened yesterday so he shouldn't harm you."

This explanation unfortunately doesn't do much for his worry as he forcibly gulps while thinking, "shouldn't?"

-

Though he is eased by her innocent smile enough to allow him to feel a bit better about saying so he responds, "alright then."

-

This causes her to clap her hands together while beaming with joy and saying, "great!"

-

She spins around and walks over to her nightstand where she grabs a chair then walks back and places it in front of him. She takes a seat and seems to sit there eagerly to the confusion of Burchard who thinks, "is it really this exciting to talk to me?"

-

He starts to grin while continuing his thought, "though I have to admit it is nice having someone being happy to be with me. Honestly can't remember the last time that happened."

-

His thoughts however get interrupted by Emilia who looks back at him with concern while asking, "are you okay?"

-

He looks back at her confused while asking, "uh yeah, why do you ask?"

-

She sighs in relief then continues to smile at him while saying, "that's a relief, the only reason I ask is because you seemed to be staring off into space."

-

Realizing that he had spaced out, Burchard starts to chuckle nervously while saying, "sorry, I space out sometimes."

-

With the question now nagging at the back of his head, he asks, "I am curious though, why are you so eager to talk to me?"

-

Caught off guard by by the sudden question, and with a feeling of embarrassment quickly setting in, her cheeks and ears quickly turn bright red as she stammers over her words saying, "uh-uh well you see, the thing is…."

-

Knock knock.

-

Hearing a saviour at the door, Emilia's head snaps over to the door while she blurts out, "oh? Someone's at the door?"

-

She quickly scurry's over to the door while continuing, "Well it would be offaly rude to just leave them at the door so I'll let them in."

-

She damn near throws open the door while saying with glee, "hello!"

-

Burchard looks over at the door with confusion though he is more focused on her odd Demeanour when he notices Emilia stepping aside and letting one of the maids in. Though he didn't show it, he was over joyed to see the blue haired Rem standing there showing little expression as usual though it was comforting to see compared to the glares he got from her sister. As he sat there feeling this comfort, Rem graciously bows to Emilia while saying, "miss Emilia. I am here to escort you to the dining hall for breakfast."

She stands upright while Emilia looks back at her with a strange amount of glee while saying, "oh? Well that's so kind of you but I still need to change."

-

Acting as if an idea came to mind, she says, "I know!"

-

She gestures to Burchard while continuing, "why don't you take Burchard there instead?!"

-

Rems head slowly turns to Burchard who intern innocently smiles back at her. After blinking at him a few times, she quickly looks back at Emilia while saying, "I was only tasked with escorting miss Emilia."

-

Emilia intern seems to wave her off while saying, "oh don't worry about me. I've been living here long enough to know where to go."

-

She motions to Burchard once more while continuing, "plus he's still new here so he wouldn't know how to get to the dining hall."

-

Rem continues to feel unsure about this while Emilia adds, "just think of it as a way to get to know him better."

-

For some strange reason, Rem's whole aura seems to change as she says, "very well."

-

She looks over at Burchard while saying, "let us go to the dining hall."

-

Confused by the whole turn of events, Burchard sits there dumbfounded and unsure of what to do but decides it is best to do as he's told so he gets up while saying, "alright then."

-

Rem leaves the room with Burchard following behind but when he passes Emilia, he says, "let's talk later."

-

Seeming to lighten up to the point of almost glowing as she responds, "sure!"

-

With that, she closes the door behind them and excitedly gets ready for the day.
