At the Game Hole, Randy was playing a game and he had been playing it for hours. Longer than he normally did, and Howard was getting concerned while others were getting mad.
After beating the level, he wiped the sweat from his head and continued to play and Howard came to his side, hoping to get him to stop playing. "Um, I come with a message from the Food Hole. You're bogarting the Mustermann, and people are not happy."
Randy looked to the side and saw multiple people angry. "First, I don't know what bogarting means. BLAM! Second, I've dropped eight hours on this thing. Bla-blam! Third, you told me to relax and act like a teenager in the 21st century so here I am, hogging a game for over 8 hours. Ba boom! And I'm finally about to beat it. Blam blam blam!" Randy continued to play the game and a crowd started to form.
On the game, Randy's character encountered a bull but he ran out of ammo. "Oh no! I'm out!" The bull started to chase Randy around when player two appeared.
"Welcome, Baby Buckaroo. He will to be your huckleberry."
"What are you doing?" Randy asked, feeling annoyed that Howard joined him.
"Saving your butt." Howard cracked his knuckles ready to beat the game.
Randy rolled his eyes as he kept his focus on the game. "My butt doesn't need saving."
With just a push of a button, Howard defeated the bull and won the game.
"Baby Buckaroo is hero of the victory."
"What the juice?"
Randy scowled as everyone cheered for Howard beating the game, and for getting Randy off of it, while Greg came up to Howard with an award. "By the power vested in me by the Manfred Mustermann Kid Cowboy Committee, I hereby pronounce you, "Here for the Day." Skee-bow!" Greg gave Howard a star pin calling him a hero and stuck it on him.
Randy, on the other hand, looked at Howard skeptically. "Wow. A medal! I did not plan on being a hero today. But when duty calls, you know?" Howard laughed and then said, "Duty."
Randy bent down to Howard's level and said, "Just one thing, you're not a hero." Randy shoved his finger on Howard's chest but Howard put it down.
"Then, why do I have this medal?"
"Because you jumped in at the last second and ganked your biffer's cheese, Howard-style."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Howard asked, starting to feel offended.
"Look, the Ninja is a hero. You're, you know..." Randy got into a ninja pose and then held his hands out, gesturing to Howard hoping he could catch his drift.
"No, I don't know."
"Come on, we both know. You're... you." Randy tried to explain in a way to not offend Howard but this didn't work.
"Exactly. A hero!" Howard held out his hero badge, showing it off.
Randy smirked knowing a way to prove that Howard wasn't a hero. "Clearly what we need is some kind of hero expert." Randy slid to a corner and showed his bag then took out the Nomicon. "Fortunately, I happen to have such an expert in my satchel."
"Even the NinjaNomicon will agree with me on this one because I'm right." Howard opened the Nomicon forcing Randy to go inside. Howard threw the book in Randy's direction after he fell.
Inside the Nomicon, Randy floated in the sky around mountains. Words appeared in front of him saying, "A hero sacrifices all to save the day."
"Yes, exactly. Thanks a trills, master cool. Vloomp you later." Randy left the Nomicon happy to know that he was right.
Randy left the Gamehole with a smug grin with Howard following behind. "HA! It must kill you that even your own book says I'm the hero."
Howard ran to catch up with Randy but he said, "That is not what it said."
"I sacrificed my last token. Day saved by me.
"You didn't save the day. You saved the second." Randy pointed at the medal and said, "That medal should say, "Randy does all the work while Howard jumps in at the last second and ganks his cheese"." Randy jumped up and down annoyed and frustrated that Howard had been called a hero. The two didn't even notice the line in front of them with students from Norrisville.
"And yet, all it says is "Hero." Medals don't lie, Cunningham."
Randy pulled on his hair frustrated at Howard then he noticed the line. "What's this, some kind of line?"
"Let's stand in front of it." Randy and Howard went to the line behind Theresa.
She noticed them and turned to them. "Hey, Randy."
Howard shoved himself between the two star-struck lovers and asked, "Oh, were you asking about my hero medal? I got it for hero-ing. I'm a hero. Hero." Howard was doing this to annoy Randy but not letting this get to his head. He got closer to Theresa and whispered to Theresa, "Not a hero." Just then, the line started to move and everyone ran inside.
Inside was a teen fever dream, arcade games, freezie machines, loud music, and more. It seemed as if everyone from Norrisville High was there. "How have we never heard of "Club Super Awesome Teen Time Club"?"
"It's every one of those words! and one of them twice!" Howard said excitedly.
"Yeah, but why? I've never heard of a club with such a long name. Much less, using the word "club" twice."
"Can it, Cunningham. It's a club with everything a teenager could want! Enjoy it!"
Randy sighed in defeat. "All right." The duo walked through the club. "Well, it seems exclusive. Think of all the people who didn't get in."
Bucky suddenly came up with a clipboard. "Cunningham and Weinerman, check." Bucky checked their names off a clipboard knocking Howard's drink out of his hand. "Every single person from school is here."
"Bucky? Why are you taking attendance?"
"She told me to." Bucky pointed to a familiar girl walking through the crowd, however, she wore a mask that covered part of her face. "I didn't mask any questions." She passed all the boys and Randy was the only one who had a negative reaction. He gagged and covered his nose. "Mysterious hostess zing!"
"Ugh! I know that smell."
"Wasn't me!" Howard shouted, giving a look that showed he did fart and it smelled. "Ok, it was me." Howard guilty slouched down.
"I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about her. Rancid bologna. Old man breath." As Randy was thinking to himself, the mystery girl walked up the stairs to address the student body. "Don't tell me. Don't tell me..."
"Student of Norrisville, I hope you're enjoying the party." Everyone cheered except for Randy.
"Everybody's cheering, so I'm cheering."
"Because it will be your last!" The girl removed her mask, revealing herself to be Amanda, the Sorceress.
"Wouldn't you know it? My first party is also my last," Bucky said, defeated and shocked. The rest of the school was speechless at the sight of the Sorceress.
The Sorceress locked down the doors with four different barriers making it impossible to escape. Using her magic, she revealed her true form. She had green wrinkly skin with long unkempt black hair and long green fingers, yellow eyes, a long black and purple robe, and her necklace had eight purple orbs.
"The Sorceress."
"Man, they'll let anybody in this club," Howard said, annoyed at the fact they let everyone in.
"You are all my prisoners!"
"The Ninja will come for us."
The Sorceress smiled evilly and said, "Oh, I believe the Ninja is already here. Now to give him a reason to show himself." Using her magic on Morgan, Heidi, and Flute Girl, they turned into demon dogs to keep the others in line.
"My sister's a demon dog!" Howard gasped as he and the other students, including Randy, backed up in fear. "I'd be lying if I said I hadn't suspected."
"Not now, Howard. Besides, this calls for a hero."
Before Randy could change, Howard said, "I'm on it!"
"I mean the Ninja, not you, Baby Buckaroo." Howard gasped while Randy walked behind the freezie machine to turn into the Ninja but Howard came around to give his friend an earful. "Stay outta my way. It's Ninja ti... Thersa." Theresa grabbed Randy's hand and she held it tightly. "You're holding my hand. That's quite a grip you got there." Randy blushed hard as she held his hand. It seemed no matter how many times he told himself that he and Theresa could be together, he still found himself having feelings for her.
"Hope you don't mind. I'm gonna hand onto this 'cause, you know... those." Demon Dog Morgan came around, forcing the three back with the rest of the students.
"Reveal yourself, Ninja. Or everyone will pay for your cowardice!"
The Sorceress looked around along with some of the students and Randy. 'I have no way out of this. I'm in everyone's sight and Theresa won't let go of my hand. If I don't reveal myself, then the Sorceress will kill everyone. This is bad, very very bad.'
"Hmm. Where is the Ninja?" Howard asked knowing it would annoy Randy, which it did. "Guess I'll have to handle this." Howard gestured to his hero medal with a smug smile on his face.
"Do not handle this." Morgan Dog growled at Randy to stop talking. He looked around the area for a way out and to get everyone to safety. He saw the bathroom and got an idea. "I gotta get everybody to the bathroom." He turned to Theresa and asked, "Theresa, I don't suppose you have your twirlin' sticks on you." While Theresa looked through her bag, Randy tried to release Theresa's iron grip but she wouldn't budge. "Am I going to get this back?"
Randy took her baton and with a deep breath, he said, "No. Hey, demon dogs!" The demon dogs turned to Randy and growled loudly. He twirled the baton and threw it. "Fetch!" The demon dogs didn't even move instead they just snarled at him. However, that was a part of Randy's plan, the baton twirled back to Randy but it broke the rope hanging above them. The sign fell onto the demon dogs stopping them momentarily. "Yes, yes. Quick everyone into the..."
"Bathroom. Hi, I'm Howard, I'll be your hero this evening." Everyone ran into the bathroom and Howard guided them inside.
Randy felt immediate anger but Theresa just wanted to get out of there. "Come on, Randy, let's follow Howard." She dragged him into the bathroom just seconds after the demon dogs freed themselves.
"He's ganking my cheese again." The demon dogs chased after Randy and Theresa so Randy dragged Theresa into the bathroom before the dogs could catch them. Randy managed to get the demon dogs to slide into the drinks before going into the bathroom. He held the door back but was struggling to keep the demon dogs back. Bash grabbed a toilet and smashed it in front of the door, which allowed all of them to breathe a sigh of relief for now.
"Say hello to our newest hero. Ninja no-show zing!" A group of students held Howard up and cheered for him since the Ninja didn't show up. Howard fell from the crowd holding him up and his arm landed on a wad of gum.
"Stop ganking my cheese!" Randy told him on the ground while gripping his shirt but Howard removed the grip and said, "Stop making it so easy to gank your cheese."
The banging on the door got harder and the toilet flew away. The demon dogs were close to getting in. "What are we going to do?"
"Yeah, hero, what do we do now?" Randy asked with a bit of bitterness in his tone.
Suddenly, an exit sign appeared and Howard shouted, "Through there!" Howard climbed on top of the crowd but Randy had a bad feeling about the door. He chased after Howard to try and stop him. "We don't know where it goes."
"As any real hero can tell, it goes that way." Howard opened the door revealing a cave that everyone ran through. Theresa looked at Randy who smiled at him and he smiled back. He stopped when he felt someone else touch his other free hand. He saw Bucky shaking like a leaf and holding his hand. "I'm terrified of dogs and mystery doors. Not a good night for me." Randy, Theresa, and Bucky ran through the mystery door just seconds before the demon dogs came into the bathroom and chased after the group of students, not knowing that this was part of the Sorceress' plan. "Yes, my pets, drive them deeper to the doom.
Deep within the cave, Howard was leading the group with Randy still holding Bucky's and Theresa's hands. "Relax, everybody. You're in good hands. Mine. Though they may be delicate, they will lead you to safety."
Randy leaned down to Howard and told him, "You have to distract Theresa and Bucky so I can..."
"So you can what, Cunningham? Finally show up and gank my cheese?" Howard mockingly laughed. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
"Okay, you know what, yes. I would love that. So would everyone else. Besides, you have no idea where you're leading us."
"Admit it. You have no faith in me." Howard stopped moving and waited for Randy to admit it.
"I have no faith in you."
"Well, I do. I'll follow you anywhere, O hero, my hero." Bucky released himself from Randy's grip and grabbed Howard's hand. "Wow, those are some sweaty mitts you got there," Howard noted, clearly uncomfortable.
Bucky grabbing Howard's hand gave Randy an idea of how to free himself from Theresa's grip and get them out and away from the Sorceress. "Theresa, I think you'd be safer with Howard. He's the... uh, real hero." Randy pinched his nose as he finished his sentence and Howard laughing mocked him. "I heard that. Everybody hear that?"
"Really?" Theresa was hesitant, she liked Randy and felt comfortable around him.
"I'm afraid so." He gave her hand to Howard and told her, "But I'll be right behind you." Randy whistled and ran behind the group with a plan in mind. While Howard, now with Theresa and Bucky in hand, continued to lead the group. "Stick close people. This hero train don't stop till we reach Safety Town."
"Finally, it's Nin..." Bash shoved Randy out of the way and onto the ground. "Move it. I'm following that guy."
"Ninja time!" Randy transformed into the Ninja and waited. "Flute Dog, Weiner Dog, Morgan Dog, let's see what you got." Morgan Dog Morgan jumped out from the shadows and tackled Randy. "A little warning would have been nice." Randy kicked Morgan Dog off of him with Weiner Dog and Flute Dog coming from behind. Randy jumped up from the ground and Ninja Flipped on Weiner Dog. "Ninja Flip!" Using a stalactite to give him more force, he pushed off of it and punched Weiner Dog. Randy dusted off his hands as if he was done but Flute Dog came in and tackled him down.
With the students, Howard found himself looking between two roads, still deciding which one to go down. "Are you sure you know where you're going?" Theresa asked, wishing Randy had stayed with them.
"You wouldn't ask the Ninja if he knew where he was going," Howard argued. "He usually knows where he's going," Theresa argued back still unimpressed with Howard's heroics.
Howard released himself from Theresa's and Bucky's grip. "Listen up, people. I'm your hero, which means you do what I say. And I say we're going this way." Howard went to the left where a bottomless pit sat. "That's a bottomless pit," Bucky pointed out. "Then we're going the other way."
Randy fell into a hole, leading him to an open area with a small pond and waterfall. "What the juice?" The demon dogs were close behind and ran at him. "Bag dogs!" Randy kicked Weiner Dog down but Flute Dog and Morgan Dog were closing in. Seeing the stalactite, he got an idea. "Ninja stalactite snag!" Using his scarf, he grabbed the stalactite to swing around and he once again knocked Weiner Dog down. "Zone!" The stalactite broke causing Randy to fall off and slide near the pond. "Uh-oh!" The stalactite hit him on the head and the demon dogs started to close in on him. Using the stalactite like a bat, he smacked Flute Dog down. The other demon dogs noticed this and slowly approached him. Randy tapped his feet ready to attack the approaching demon dogs. "Who's next?"
"I am." The Sorceress came from the waterfall with a plan to defeat the Ninja once and for all. "Welcome to my lair. Hope you like what I've done with the place."
"Eh, Little cave-y for my taste."
The Sorceress shrieked in fury then cackled as she started to transform the pond. The oncoming purple fire from her spell scared the demon dogs away. A boom gave Randy a scare and the pond transformed into a yellow and orange portal. He turned and was shocked to see it. "Is that..."
"A portal to the Land of Shadows. The same one your father sent me to!" Randy had no response to the Sorceress. He knew very little about the Land of Shadows. Only that his father banished the Sorceress to that place and he forbade Randy from learning about it. He feared the Sorceress' return. "I languished there for over 800 years. And since I can't send your father, I'll send his son! It's your turn to suffer!" The Sorceress tried to use her magic to capture Randy but he was too fast for her to hit. He dodged each attack but there was no way for him to escape. He hid behind a tall rock. Breath fast and deep, he was terrified. "Darkness will be your prison, while I rule the world with the Sorcerer." She fired her magic at the rock Randy hid behind but he was already gone. "What?"
"Oh, yes, I did. Ninja Sorceress Surprise!" Randy kicked the Sorceress back to the ground and a battle began. Randy kicked and punched the Sorceress and he thought that he could win since he was able to dodge most of her attacks. However, the Sorceress caught his foot and threw him at the wall. He slid down and hit the sides of the wall three times. He didn't lose consciousness but she was able to get the upper hand on him. She slammed him against a rock hard, causing it to crack. "I will savor your destruction." She slammed his head on another rock. "Then I will turn my wrath on those you have sworn to protect." With that, Randy was able to gain some of his will back and told her, "Not gonna happen. They're long gone by now."
"This is it. Right through this tunnel is... aw more cave?!" Howard leads the teens to the Ninja and the Sorceress's battle.
Randy face-palmmed himself. 'Seriously, Howard?!'
"I'll destroy them first and make you watch." The students gasped in fear as the Sorceress powered up her magic, ready to kill the entire student body. That's when Randy remembered what his master told him. "A hero sacrifices all." He looked at the students and then the portal of shadows. 'Sorry father.' Using his scarf, Randy grabbed the Sorceress's arm to stop her attack. He held her tightly against his body and together, he and the Sorceress jumped into the portal to the Land of Shadows.
Everyone gasped in shock at the Ninja's sacrifice. "NO!"
Within the depths of the portal, yellow fanged tendrils came up and grabbed the Sorceress dragging her down into the Land of Sahdows. Randy tried to escape but two tendrils grabbed his leg and body and started to drag him down just as he was about to make his escape. He tried to force them to release him but no luck. 'Is this it? Am I going to be trapped in the Lan of Shadows?' Just then Howard came through and grabbed the Ninja's scarf, pulling him through until he was out of the portal and safe on the surface. The duo panted in exhaustion. "You saved me."
Howard crossed his arms and shouted, "Don't ever do that again." Randy laughed a bit and said, "Trust me, I wasn't that into it either." The portal returned to normal along with Heidi, Flute Girl, and Morgan with the entire crowd chanting, "Ninja! Ninja! Ninja!"
"Ninja saved us," Theresa stated.
"And Howard saved the Ninja," Bucky pointed out.
"Howard! Howard!"
"I was wrong. You're a total hero."
"The important thing is you admitted you're wrong."
"Of course, I'm a hero, too." Randy and Howard walked over to the now clean pond as Randy said, "I mean, I did banish the Sorceress back to the Land of Shadows."
"Bummer they don't make a medal for that." That's when Howard noticed that his hero medal was gone. It likely fell into the Land of Shadows. "Oh. I lost my medal in the Land of Shadows."
"I'm gonna follow the Ninja home." Bash patted Randy on the back hard but he had a better idea. "No, Bash. This hero will show you the way." The Ninja gestured to Howard but they forgot one little thing. "What about Randy?" Theresa said, clearly worried for him.
"I'm sure we'll find him crying in some tunnel on the way out. Which is this way!"
"Other way," Randy told him.
"Other way!" Everyone groaned as Howard started to lead them on another wild goose chase for the exit. Randy laughed then left. "Smoke-bomb."
The next chapter is the end of season 1. Which, wow, I never thought I would see it. Yes, I plan to do season 2 and this is the episode everyone has been waiting for almost 6 years!
