chapter 21

A/N: I'm so sorry it's been so long since the last update! I've been so busy lately. As soon as I started writing this chapter I got sick so then I gave up until I was better but now here it is. please leave reviews and let me know what y'all think 33 thank u !

"Father, I dont know if you are truly listening to me anymore. This is the last time I'm reaching out to you. If I have done anything to upset you please know I am sorry and I'm begging for forgiveness. I would do anything to have you by my side and to help during these upcoming struggles the world is facing. I forgive you for what happened between us. All I ask is you grant the same towards me."

A tear slipped down Lillian's face as she whispered a prayer to her father, Gabriel. She needed his guidance. Trying to find him is impossible and prayer seems to be useless but, she hadn't given up. This was her last attempt after many calls and she was through. If he wants to truly abandon her then so be it.

The last few days for the Winchester siblings had been busy. Sam and Dean defeated the horsemen, War, when they were helping Rufus in his town. It resulted in them now obtaining War's ring. Though afterwards Dean came back to Bobby's without Sam which left Lillian confused. Sam split from the siblings to take a break from hunting. He said he doesn't trust himself anymore and he fears that if he keeps hunting the way he is then he will be a liability. Dean agreed. Lillian hadn't seen what he was like the past year so she couldn't say much, though she has heard the stories. So now the trio has been semi split up for now.

Dean and Lillian have been on the road hunting together nonstop since Sam left to go wherever he went. They were in their motel room cleaning up from a hunt when a flutter of angel wings was heard as Castiel appeared right behind Dean.

Dean put the knife he was cleaning down as he turned around and was startled by the angel, "Personal space Cas!" Lillian giggled at the exchange.

"Apologies." Castiel stepped aside from Deans personal bubble.

"What's up Cas? How did you find us?" she asked.

"Bobby told me where you were." The angel answered as his eyes searched the room. "Where's Sam?" he asked confused.

Dean and Lillian shared a glance before Dean answered "He's taking his own little vacation for a while." Dean shifted uncomfortably in the spot he was standing in wanting to change the conversation topic. "Did you find God yet? Can I get my damn necklace back yet please?"

Lillian moved from her seat feeling not caught up. She looked at her brother to see his necklace was indeed missing from his person. She then turned towards the angel. "His necklace?" she asked.

"It's a talisman that glows in the presence of God" Castiel explains. He then turns towards Dean to answer his questions. "You cannot have your necklace back yet. I've yet to find God. That's why I'm here. I need your help." He said as he looked at Dean, then his eyes shifted warily over towards Lillian.

"With what? God? No thanks" Dean responded. Lillian shook her head in agreement.

"No it's someone else…"

"…" the room stayed silent waiting for Cas to answer. After a few more seconds of silence Lillian spoke up from behind Dean "Well are you gonna tell us who!?"

"An archangel. The one who killed me."

Lillian was shaking her head in disapproval. Deans eyes went wide "Excuse me?"

"Raphael. I've heard whispers here and there that he's walking earth. This is a very rare opportunity."

Lillian had her arms crossed over her chest glaring at Castiel. He should know how stupid this is. His mission to find God was fine because he wasn't going to actually find God, he doesn't care. New flash! Dads don't actually care. But to bring an archangel into it, especially the one who killed him is entirely foolish.

"Why should I do this?" Dean debates whether or not to get involved with something dangerous as he starts pacing the room.

"Your Michaels vessel. No angel would dare to harm you" Castiel stated.

"Wow so I'm just your human shield."

"Dean.. I need your help because you are the only one who'll help, please." Castiel begged.

"Fine, where is he?" Dean gave in and was ready to go.

"Not so fast." Castiel took a breath preparing himself for what he was about to say next. "I don't think Lillian should be there when we speak to Raphael. It could be very dangerous and she would be better off staying in the room you stay in." Castiel spoke aloud not looking once in Lillian's direction.

Dean's face turned to one of surprise at the angels protectiveness over his little sister. For a second he was suspicious of something going on between them but quickly shook the thought. "I agree man. It only needs to be the two of us. She will be safer at the motel."

Lillians eyebrows were knitted together so tightly in anger that they could've permanently been stuck that way. She sat in her seat tapping her leg furiously as it seemed the two men in the room had forgotten her existence.

They continued to talk about the plan to go to Maine and Lillian couldn't contain her rage anymore. She stood up to leave the room. When she was at the door Dean called out to her, "Where are ya going?"

"To get away from you, both of you."

Dean was looking at her as if she grew another head. "What are you talking about? Nothing happened!"

Lillian covered her mouth with her hand to stifle a laugh. "Of course you would think that." She gave a look that could kill towards Castiel. "Both of you are treating me as if I'm not grown right now and am incapable of making my own decisions."

"No it's not that-" Castiel was cut off.

"Explain it to me then."

"We are just worried for your safety, you have been through so much" Dean pleaded as he tried to calm his sister down.

"You can voice your concerns but deciding for me is a big no-no. I'm an adult. I get a say with what happens to me. You can't just speak of me as if I'm not even in the room." She took a few big steps to further herself into the room. "Plus you both made yourselves seem really sexist.." Making her way towards Castiel, she stood in front of him with her back to Dean. Blinking her eyes red she spoke in a whisper that could only be heard between the two of them "You forget yourself Cassandra, don't ever think you will be in a position where you command me."

Her eyes changed backed to green and she swiftly made her way towards the door, stopping in front of it. "Dean, I can compromise because I am a reasonable person. I will stay outside of the room while you meet with Raphael but I still want to be there when it happens in case you need backup. Text me the address and when to be there." She then opened the door and left.

"What has gotten into her man.." Dean said under his breath while rubbing the back of his head.

"Has she always been like this?" Castiel asked the eldest Winchester.

"What? Bitchy? Only when provoked and I guess it was deserved but recently she's gotten a temper."

Castiel's faced turned worried.

Since Lillian had first met with Lucifer she had started sneaking off from her family and meeting with him. Not for anything evil. They take turns going to places of great meaning to them or places they find peaceful and talk. Though Lillian is waiting for the turn…When Lucifer will admit he wants to use her for something dark or corrupt her to destroy humankind or something of the sorts.

As soon as she left the motel she flew into town and prayed to Lucifer. He was there by her side immediately.

Lucifer took in Lillians frazzled state, "You seemed to be bothered by something, did you call for me this time to spill your feminine feelings." He made a slight face of disgust. "Perhaps I should just drop you off at a therapist."

Lillian side eyed a glare at the archangel. She let out an annoyed sigh. "I'm fine. You're more annoying than usual today."

He watched her frustrated face. Studied her body language. He always had when they were together. He found her extremely interesting, otherworldly in his eyes. She turned to look at him. Green eyes met icy blue ones and her face seemed to relax. Her clenched up fit of rage seemed to completely release and all her problems were let go. It was just the two of them now and the third wheel of unwanted emotions was gone.

"Where are we going? Dean and Cas are in town, we should leave soon." Lillian spoke looking up at him, not breaking eye contact.

He put his hand on her shoulder. "You see, you caught me at a complicated time. One of my brothers is crawling around earth at the moment and I don't wish to run into him right now, as fun as it sounds."

"So where are we going?" Lillian was a bit confused now.

"Hell."

Before Lillian could protest, Lucifer flew them through realms and brought them both to his kingdom. Lucifer let go of her arm and saw her giving him a look of contempt. "What now!"

She looked around at her surroundings to make it obvious. She would not be safe in Hell. Even if Lucifer is with her, demons would hate her. She's a hunter.

Lucifer rolled his eyes and tilted his head to motion her to follow him. They started walking down a dark hallway that seemed as if it was never ending. The walls were made of stone and glistened in the dim light, making them look like they were damp to the touch.

"If you are worried about demons, I told you no demon would ever harm you." Lucifer reassured her.

Lillian kept her head forward and continued walking as she scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. He never said that. At least I can't recall. I would remember. But he's not lying to me. What is going on?

She nodded at him playing along. She isn't sure what's completely going on and why she can't detect if he is lying anymore. Or if she is forgetting things but she is not taking any chances.

As they were walking they reached a closed door. Lucifer opened it to reveal behind a meeting being held by demons. Sitting at the end of the long table was a demon in a fine tailored suit. All of the other demons appeared to be looking to him, it seems he was in charge of the meeting.

As soon as Lucifer and Lillian took a few steps in the room all of the demons looked directly towards them. Most looked towards Lucifer waiting for direction, yet some wandering eyes were on Lillian. Nosey about who this newcomer was.

The demon sitting at the end of the table stood up and spoke nervously while adjusting his suit. "My lord, may we be of assistance to you?" He spoke with a raspy English accent.

Lucifer stared around at each demon in the room. Some of the demons felt fear and it was visible on their faces, others were full of admiration, while few showed no emotion. Lucifer felt nothing staring at each one of his creations.

"Clear the room" Lucifer demanded.

"Yes sir, as you command." After a second all of the demons started gathering their paperwork preparing to leave the room. Lucifer burned holes in the backs of their heads as he watched them move.

Growing impatient at what was too slow of a pace Lucifer pulled out a booming voice, "Now!"

The group of demons started scurrying even faster now. Not a care for if the papers get messed up. Sweat beading down some of their faces in fear of having Lucifer smite them for not being fast enough for their king. The demon at the end of the table stood and watched as everyone frantically tried to pull themselves together. As soon as everything was gathered the small group of demons left without looking at Lucifer or Lillian, as if in fear to upset him. The same demon who did nothing to help was last to leave the room.

Before the last demon left, Lucifer called out to him, "Crowley"

Crowley hesitated before turning around. "Yes my Lord?" He spoke as he turned to face Lucifer.

"I'm onto you, don't think you can hide your schemes from me."

Crowley showed no emotion to Lucifers statement. "Is that all my Lord?"

Lucifer just stood there squinting in disgust at demon in front of him. Making it clear the conversation was over.

"Very well.." Crowley turned to leave, but not without giving a questioning glance towards Lillian who watched the whole ordeal that went down in silence with her arms crossed. He closed the door behind him as he left.

Lillian went to sit in one of the chairs at the table as soon as the door was closed. She pulled out her cell phone and looked over in Lucifers direction, "Does this place have cell reception?"

He gave her a perplexed look. "I wouldn't know, I have no need for a cellular device."

"Oookay." She checked the bars on her phone and surprisingly she had two. So when her brother needs to contact her it'll go through. Lillian placed her phone back into her pocket. She gestured to Lucifer to sit down "You're making me uncomfortable standing like that.. hovering."

Lillian drummed her fingers along the table as she watched Lucifer sit in the seat across from her. He seems so stiff she thought to herself. Lillian darted her eyes away from him and was inspecting everything in the room. Distracting herself from the angel in front of her because she suddenly felt at a loss of words. She doesn't know why but sometimes she finds herself shy around him. Which is ridiculous saying because he's satan.

Lucifer never took his eyes off of her. He stayed watching as her eyes moved from corner to corner of the room. Shades of green dancing in the light. She moved her eyes in a certain direction and caught him staring at her. After brief eye contact with each other they both turned their faces away to the side. Lucifer felt embarrassed which confused him. He should not feel feelings so human. He didn't understand it. Lillian was blushing and felt even more shy. She turned her head in an attempt to hide her blush.

In an attempt to hide his embarrassment, Lucifer spoke up first. "You know you could have all this one day or something like it."

"What?" Lillian snapped her head forward to face him.

"Your power. You have so much of it. You could have your own kingdom."

She let out a small laugh as she shook her head. "As appealing as having a kingdom to myself sounds, I could never."

He was surprised. She could do anything with the power she harnessed. The things he would do if he had what she was graced with are unimaginable. "Why? What's stopping you?"

She looked down at the table feeling ashamed with herself. She isn't sure if she should tell him or not. While her gut says to trust him, logically he IS the prince of darkness and could use her. At the end of the day she decided to trust herself to make the right choice. She feels she can trust him, she has so far.

"Well for starters, I don't actually know how to use my powers properly"

He gave her a look of amusement. "You're joking right?"

She shook her head. "I only know what I assume is basic stuff. I can fly, heal myself and others. Mind read, though I don't really like too because I wouldn't want anyone to do the same to me. Oh and mind control, telekinesis."

Lucifer placed his hand down on the table and leaned forward. "Who sired you?" He spoke in a serious tone.

Lillians eyes went wide at the insistent tone of his voice, "I- I can't, I'm not telling you."

He shook his head in annoyance. "Whoever they are, they're an idiot. You are like a ticking time bomb now. Not learning how to use your powers means you can't control them." He tapped the table as he spoke to bring more effect to his words. "You don't know the extent of your powers, which means that you could pop at any moment. You get too emotional, BAM! You just smote a town."

Lillian had her thinking cap on, her faced showed obvious signs that she was deep in thought. "My father, he did put this sort of lock on my grace, multiple times might I add. When I was an infant so I grew up powerless and then not too long ago. Thinking about it, it could've been for the reason you told me and he planned to teach me but something came up… or he put the lock on to keep me hidden so no one could use me to find him." Lillian was thinking aloud at this point rambling, trying to rationalize why her father would abandon her.

"Hey!" Lucifer snapped his fingers a few times to draw her attention back to him. "Whatever the reason is, it doesn't matter anymore. You need to get this-" He motioned towards her. "-under control."

'It does matter, at least to me.' Though she wasn't going to go on a rant to someone who didn't want to hear it. "So what am I supposed to do."

"Well I don't need you destroying the planet before my fight with big bro. I can teach you I guess." Lucifer attempted to say nonchalantly.

Lillian squinted up at him. He's joking right? What is he getting out of this? Why would he help me with nothing in return? She was suspicious for sure now that he wanted to use her. Train her to his liking and then have her fight for him.

"Shouldn't you be worried that once I'm powered up I'll try to take you out?" Lillian questioned.

He laughed at her. Fully laughed. "You would never kill me."

A buzzing from Lillians phone interrupted them. Lillian grabbed her cellular from her pocket. Seeing a text from Dean saying it's time and an address. He must've assumed she already made it to Maine or was hoping that she wouldn't be there in time.

Lillian looked up at Lucifer, "I have to go."

"Where to?" Lucifer questioned as he watched Lillian stand up.

"Maine" She answered. "I'm helping my brother with a case. Till next time.." and with that she was gone.

Lillian made it to Maine, quick and efficiently, as always. She entered the run down abandoned house to see Dean and Castiel standing in front of a ring of holy oil with a guy sitting in the middle. Castiel quickly heard her entering as she stepped on a squeaky floorboard and looked in her direction.

"Hello Lillian" the awkward angel greeted her.

She gave him a curt nod "Hi Cas." Dean turned to look at his sister as she walked more into the room they were in. He charged towards her "Woah woah woah, sis we agreed you're staying outside yeah?" He grabbed her shoulders slightly pushing her back to where she came from.

She pushed his arms off of her while rolling her eyes at him. "I know Dean! I can't even say hello? Raphael isn't here right now, why are you freaking out?"

Dean looked to Cas as if asking for help though the angel was looking anywhere but at the brother and sister, not wanting to get involved. "I just want to make sure you are okay? You're my baby sis Lil.." Dean put his hand back on her shoulder. "Promise me you will always stay safe. I don't want to see you hurt like that ever again, or worse. With Sam gone, wherever he is right now, you're all I got at the moment, I can't lose you."

Lillian could see the fear in his eyes and hear the quiver he tried to hide in his voice. She pulled him close to her and wrapped her arms around his waist. He leaned over and did the same. During the embrace she whispered to him "I promise I will always try to be safe Dean. You don't have to worry about losing me." She pulled away from the hug and gave him a reassuring small smile.

Dean let out a cough to clear his throat "He could be here any minute." Lillian nodded understanding that it meant to head on outside. She went to the front of the house and sat on the porch to await them to be finished.

Lillian was zoned out counting stars when she heard her brother's stomping footsteps coming forward from behind her.

"C'mon we're leaving." Dean commanded.

"What happened?" Lillian asked searching Dean's face for answers, yet finding none. She looked towards Castiel who was walking behind Dean and he seemed to have nothing to say to her either.

"We can talk about it in the car."

She followed her brother to the car, sitting in the passengers seat. Cas sat in the back. He wanted to join the ride because he thought it would be best to be there during the discussion of what happened with Raphael.

After driving for a few, Lillian noticed Dean seemed more relaxed now that he's on the road. "Do you want to talk about it now?" She asked.

Dean stayed silent.

"Raphael claims God is dead." Castiel spoke up from the back.

God is dead, huh? That could be true considering I should be getting hunted down for existing right now. Though it's hard to believe. I mean what could kill God?

"Do you think God is dead?"

"No." Castiel answered with confidence.

"I don't either." Lillian agreed with him. "Did he say anything else?"

"Going along with Raphael's theories that God is dead, he thinks Lucifer resurrected me so I can join his army for the apocalypse." Castiel visibly seemed to get tense as he spoke. As if speaking it could make it true.

"I don't think that's true Cas. I think you were truly brought back by God like you said. If not then I think Lucifer would be at the bottom of the list for who resurrected you.."

"Thank you Lillian." Castiel hesitated before he spoke again, "..There was something he said about you."

Lillian turned to look at Castiel ready to question him but as soon as she opened her mouth Dean slammed his fists on the steering wheel. "Dammit Cas! She doesn't need to know about it!"

Lillian looked at her brother in shock. Startled by his sudden outburst. "Know about what?" They both ignored her. Cas choosing to stay silent, not wanting to start a fight with Dean. Dean having an internal battle with himself on whether or not his sister truly should know what some prick featherduster said about her.

Dean glanced over at his sister and saw her staring at him with those big pleading green eyes. He sighed and rubbed the stubble on his face. "Raphael, he didn't say much. But he knew you were outside-"

"'I know about the harlot full of malice you're trying to hide from me'" Castiel repeated Raphaels words.

Lillian's head snapped towards Castiel. Her eyes were wide with shock. "What?" she whispered to herself. "Did he say anything else?"

"No, Dean stopped any other conversation topic involving you. He was very angry Raphael spoke of you that way." Castiel answered.

"Why would he even say that about me?" Lillian was confused.

"I couldn't say." Castiel looked at her perplexed. "Though why do you smell of Hell?"

Dean swerved the impala when Castiel dropped his question, but he side eyed Lillian wanting to hear what she had to say. Lillian tilted her head at the angel. "What do you mean?"

"You smell like Hell. I can confirm it because I've been there when I resurrected your brother. You smell like it."

"I couldn't say. I don't know what Hell smells like. Must be my new perfume, guess I won't be wearing it anymore.." Lillian answered confidently.

Castiel gave Lillian a suspicious look before he leaned back in his seat. "Very well."

Sam had been staying in a motel. Basically living in it, while working in town. Trying to live a normal life for the time being, Well as normal as he can with the life he has lived.

Sam was sleeping soundly when he was awoken by movement in his bed. Turning sleepily over he lazily opened his eyes to be met with a blonde haired woman that he once knew as his girlfriend Jessica.

"Jess?" Sam asked in a groggy voice, confused on how she was there. Jessica was dead. She died years ago. Her being here in front of him was impossible.

"Yes Sam, I'm here" she smiled at him. Reaching a hand out to brush hair out of his face.

Sam was in denial. "This is impossible, you're dead."

"Why can't you believe in miracles baby?"

"Because you aren't supposed to be here" Sam sat up now looking at his deceased girlfriend.

Jessica placed a hand on his left shoulder "Is it because.."

"..you would rather see me?" Sam felt a hand placed on his right shoulder. Lillian was seated next to him. She was wearing the exact same thing Jessica was. A white lace gown that showed the perfect amount of skin. Sam licked his lips as his eyes traveled across her body.

He realized what he was doing and immediately stopped. Checking the left side of the bed he saw Jessica was gone. As if she was never in the room. Lillian placed a hand on Sam's thigh. "What's wrong Sammy?"

"This isn't real. You aren't really here." He was shaking his head. He threw his sister hands off of him and stood up out of bed quickly. Lillian smiled innocently at Sam as her visage morphed into Lucifer.

"C'mon Sammy! I thought you would prefer if I visit with the face of someone you desire. It seems you preferred your sister.. I don't blame you, I do too" Lucifer spoke the last part quietly.

"How did you find me?"

"You are hard to find. So this is all just in your dream for now."

Sam's mind was racing with thoughts and questions. "Why are you here? What do you want?"

"Let's cut to the chase then. You are special Sam. You always have been. You're chosen Sammy. You are my vessel. My true vessel." Lucifer stands up as he loads the information on Sam.

"What about the vessel you are in now?" Sam doesn't want to believe it.

"This guy?" Lucifer points to himself. "He's just a placeholder, a plan B. You are my true vessel and you will say yes."

"You need my permission?" Sam asked.

"Last time I checked I'm still an archangel. So yes. I will get your permission. You will say yes." Lucifer was very confident.

"I will never say yes to you. I would rather kill myself."

"Then I would resurrect you."

Sam shook his head angry that he was so confident and calm. Angry that he was so sure about it. "No."

"You will say yes. I know you will."

After Lucifer spoke those last few words Sam woke up in a sweat.

Lillian had snuck out of the motel room her and Dean were staying out. She flew into town. It was the middle of the night and she was walking around to place the time as she waited.

Behind her she heard a flutter of wings which caused her to turn around. "What took you so long?" She asked Lucifer as she walked up to him.

"I had something to take care of" he smirked at her.
