Yandere Naruko
It all happened when she was a child. A child who wanted nothing more but answer the question:
"Why do you all hate me!"
"Shut up, demon brat!"
"OOF!" Yelled Naruko as she was treated with the business end of the broomstick by the orphanage lady. Her rear aching from the pain from hitting the floor and her forehead from the strike of the broom. She doesn't know why she's being treated like this. Ever since she gained conciousness, the people around her has been treating her like unwanted ramen. Naturally, the next thing that would happen is that the lady would scream for her to scram. But not tonight.
"You just don't know your place, do you brat?" The lady sneered, "And it's no wonder why your called 'the demonchild'. Now get up! The Hokage is gonna come around here, and I don't want your dirty self to make me look bad in front of him." With that, the landlady dragged into the bathroom, threw some haphazardly chosen clothes at her face, and slammed it with impunity.
"These clothes don't even fit me!"
"Shut up!"
Naruko then paused to listen to the lady's footsteps fade into nothingness. The bathroom's slience overcoming her like a torrent of waves in the ocean. This place, where no one would scream at her like she was satanspawn. Where no one would see her weaknesses. Her pain and suffering. In this place,
She cried.
"Why do you all hate me..." She sobbed as she started to undress herself. Her tears and sobbing further increased as the water touched her sensitive scratches and bruises. Her eyes - she did not notice then - turned blood red for the first time. But not out of rage and fury. But rather, out of despair and sorrow that permeated her soul.
"One day *sobs* I will make all of you accept me." she spoke in between her tears, "I *sobs* will be the one everyone will adore. One day, I will make them all love me."
"Believe it." And with that, she glared at the tiled wall in front of her and punched it out of impulse.
She didn't get dinner that night for the crack in the wall.
She also found a new home because the Anbu guarding the Hokage stayed long enough to see what had been done to her.
*Some time later*
She only found hate.
No matter what she did. Smile brightly, be friendly, help out in any way possible. They all still saw nothing but the demon within her. And she doesn't know what that means! Another afternoon filled with helping kids find their parents, another afternoon helping a stray animal out, another afternoon trying to help the elderly with their belongings. She keeps hearing the same old things.
"What did you do with my child, huh?! I swear, if I find out that you laid a hand on my daughter..."
"That's my pet! What're you doing with him?! You probably stole him, didn't you? Get away from him, Demon child!"
"Ahh! Help! Help! the demon is trying to steal my things. Back! BACK YOU BRAT!"
She could still feel the fading pain from the cane in her forearms as she walked by the random civilians muttering about to themselves about... something.
"Did you hear the news!" A citizen whisphered to his friend. "The Uchiha clan had been massacred! All of them are dead!"
"Hush! Where did you hear this?" The friend asked.
"What do you mean? It's the talk of the town. A few nights ago, the Uchiha clan head's son Itachi went insane and killed them all. They even said that he spared his little brother to traumatize the poor child." the civilian replied.
"Oh my goodness. What a monster. What about the little brother, Sasuke was it? How's he doing now?" the friend asked in concern.
"He's been put under the custody of the Hokage for a while, but he's been given his own place to stay now. The poor kid, he just lost his entire family, yet he's kicked to the curb to fend for himself? How cruel of the Hokage." the civilian said and then looked up to see Naruko just standing there like an idiot.
"What're you looking at, brat!? Get lost." the civilian shouted at Naruko. She just ran away from then without a second thought. After a second of running, she found herself walking on dirt road. Staring at the ground and muttering to herself.
"Why are they all so chummy and caring for Sasuke? What did he do that made him loved like that? What makes him different, huh?" Her chest was churning with loathing and a hint of anguish. All for a boy who didn't do anything to her. Her eyes on the brink of tears, but she pushed them down. The emptiness within it returning ever stronger than before.
And then, she saw him. Knees to his chin and arms around shins, he gazed at the sinking sunset as it colored the lake into its orange hue. Looking stone faced on the outside, but for some odd reason she knew. He was hiding it. The pain. The suffering.
She found herself sympathizing with him out of nowhere. Why now? Wasn't she just hating on him for no reason just then? Wasn't he calling him names and insults at the back of her head? Why would she feel this way just now?
Naruko then passed him by. From the high slope she was walking on, she didn't expect him to notice her. She knew he wouldn't even bother looking at her. But then, she still turned around. Expecting what? She can't tell. She doesn't even know why she's doing it. But man, to this day she would back and think that this was the best thing ever.
Because in those onyx eyes of his, she saw herself. Her own pain and sorrow. Naruko knew in this moment, that Sasuke knew what her loneliness was like. She turned around from his gaze and went her merry way. The only thoughts in her head being.
"...I'm not alone anymore."
