The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 75
Over the next several months the family grew closer and closer as the birth of Derek and Penelope's first child and also with the double wedding of Sarah, Anderson, Desi and Luke . The sisters decided that they would like to get married in a double ceremony to which Anderson and Luke quickly agreed, the only thing that mattered to them was getting married to the Morgan sisters.
Penelope was now two weeks away from her due date, her pregnancy progressed amazingly well and she had worked right up till the last day possible for her to do so before starting her maternity leave. Today was a busy day at the Rossi mansion as the men and women worked feverishly to help the nervous brides and grooms as they prepared for what was to be the biggest day of their lives.
Derek couldn't help but laugh at Anderson and Luke, they were even more nervous than he was on the day he had married his baby girl but at the same time he couldn't help but feel sorry for the two men because he knew exactly what they were going through. Penelope was upstairs helping JJ, Emily Fran, Mia and Tasha as they worked to get the brides dressed and ready to head downstairs so that Derek could walk them up the aisle to their grooms.
When the girls had asked him if he could give them away he almost cried, he hugged both of his sisters and told them how honored he was to have the pleasure to give them away to see the men they both loved. Dave glanced down at his watch and said, "Derek, it's time for you to go get your sisters". Derek nodded his head and said, "on it" as he took one final glance as his soon to be brothers in law before making his way across the yard to the house.
Meanwhile in the bedroom where the brides were getting dressed Penelope looked at Mia and said, "ohhhh I'm so glad that she's doing so good, she's been through a lot and without Olivia I don't think I would be here today". Mia said, "she's an amazing woman and she's safe and happy, ohhhh she wanted me to tell you hello and that she is so happy to hear about your first child", Penelope rubbed her stomach and said, "thank you Mia", Mia said, "no problem".
Their attention then turned to the door as Derek knocked, Fran walked over and opened the door and grinned at her son as he stepped into the room and made his way over to his sisters. He smiled at them and said, "you two look so beautiful", they both smiled and hugged their brother and said, "thank you" in unison" and watched as Derek then walked over to his wife and kissed her lips gently as he rubbed her stomach.
Penelope smiled and said, "you need to have a talk with your child", he laughed and said, "ohhhh so he or she is my child again, what have they been doing?", she said, "kicking up a storm handsome". Derek put his hand on her stomach and said, "okay in there little one, I need for you to be good to your mommy okay, please listen to daddy and stop kicking her", she put her hand on top of his and smiled as the kicking stopped.
Fran said, "he was the same way when he was inside me but the minute Hank touched my stomach and talked to him he'd stop", Penelope said, "he's going to be a great daddy", Fran smiled proudly and said, "that he is honey, that he is". Derek looked at his sisters and said, "lets get this show on the road before the two grooms faint on pretty boy out there", Penelope said, "awwwww, bless their hearts, they must be a nervous wreck".
Derek laughed and said, "ohhhh yeah, yeah they are", Fran kissed her daughters on the cheek before her and Mia helped Penelope downstairs and to her seat, it had been a long day and she was already exhausted. While she was sitting there waiting on the ceremony to start she started having twinges going from her stomach all the way around to her back, she blew out a deep breath and said, "just let momma see this wedding first okayyyyyy, pleaseeeee?" as another twinge shot through her.
When the music started everybody turned to watch as Desi and Sarah's best friends made their way up the aisle to stand across from the grooms and their best men who were also their best friends. Then, the music changed to the Bridal March, everybody but Penelope stood up and turned to face the back of the yard, when the beautiful brides and their brother started making their way up the rose petal path Penelope smiled as it brought back memories of her own wedding to Derek.
As the trio came to a stop with Anderson and Luke, "Derek kissed both of his sisters on the cheek and said, "I love you both so so much", as the girls held back tears they hugged their brother and said, "we love you too" in unison. Derek then walked over and sat down beside his wife and intertwined fingers with her as the ceremony started with the minister telling everybody that they could be seated.
The ceremony was beautiful as the minister said a prayer wishing them long and happy lives together, Penelope watched with tears in her eyes as the brides and grooms exchanged their vows and rings. She was hit with a sudden pain that doubled her over, Derek said, "sweetness are you alright?", she bit down on her bottom lip and whispered, "I'm in labor", Derek said, "we need to get you to the hospital".
She shook her head and said, "not until they're married", Derek said, "but", she said, "no buts handsome, no buts", the two then turned their attention back to the minister said, "if there is anyone here that can show just cause why these two couples can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.
Penelope was hit with a sharp pain and then warm bloody water puddled at her feet, she said, "OHHHHH NOOOOO", the brides and grooms turned to look at her as Fran, JJ and Emily were at her side in a few seconds. Fran said, "Penelope, we need to get you to the hospital honey while we still have time", she shook her head and said, "not until the ceremony is over, please I want to see ittttttt" as another pain hit her.
The minister said, "by the powers vested in me by this state I now pronounce you husbands and wives", he grinned at Anderson and Luke and said, "grooms, you may kiss your brides", Penelope grinned as she watched her brothers and sisters in law kiss. Derek said, "okay, they're married, now let's get you to the hospital", she nodded her head and stood up and said, "ohhhhhh, noooo, I can't, I can't", Fran said, "I'm afraid that we're out of time".
Derek looked at Penelope and then back at his mother as she said, "we need to get her inside", Derek helped his wife up and then picked her up bridal style and carried her toward the house with Fran and span class="il"the/span team right behind them.
