Chapter 12: Beating Robotnik Part 1
it was another typical morning in the thorndyke mansion, sonic was up on the roof reading a book about traveling
"i guess i must've seen every place there is to see on this planet, except for the places i'd have to swim to. of course he he he" said sonic
sonic closed the book and went back inside the mansion, he walked into the kitchen and saw chris, tails, amy, at the kitchen table, looking at a map
"you sure this is the place" chris asked
"yeah i'm 100% positive" said tails
"i really hope your right, i'm gonna lose it if we have to do another 10 hours of searching" said amy
"hey guys what's up" sonic asked
amy looked up at sonic "oh hey sonic good news we think we found out where the next emerald is"
"really where?" sonic asked
"it took a while but after 55 hours of searching and giving myself coffee and electrical shocks to keep me awake, we manage to find some kinda corn field, and the chaos emerald we have started glowing over there, that must be where the next emerald is" chris explained
"awesome so when do we go out and catch that sucker" said sonic
"as soon as helen, frances, and danny arrive there coming along, said amy
"should i get the x tornado ready" tails asked
"nah remember mr stewart said he would get us a ride, he said he wanted to help us find the emeralds as well" said amy
"right...i still don't know if i can fully trust him" said chris
"chris buddy you gotta stop being so paranoid like i said were gonna be fine" said sonic
meanwhile in the living room cream, cheese, and ella were sharing a cake, while watching kill la kill, an anime danny recomdammed to cream, who was enjoying it, although ella didn't know if the show was appropriate for someone as young as cream
"this show is really cool right ella" cream said excitedly
"...yeah i guess so...geez that outfit she's wearing is quite revealing are you sure your mom would be okay with you watching this" ella asked
"well...she doesn't need to know everything right" cream said with a smile on her face
ella sighed "already entering your rebellious years huh" she thought
just then the program was interrupted and change to the news
"we interrupt our regularly scheduled program to go live to our SSTV correspondent, scarlet garcia" said the tv reporter
"the president's top aide is going to make a statement before taking questions from the press corps." scarlet explained
"the president has decided to take action to stop dr. robotnik!" the president's top aid jerome wise explained
"what!" said cream
that news caught the attention of sonic, chris, tails and amy and they ran into the living room
"has the administration developed a concrete plan to stop dr. robotnik" a reporter asked
"indeed the president is currently in the middle of getting a special kind of reinforcement that he guarantee will defeat robotnik" said jerome
"so there trying to attack egg head's base huh" said sonic
"yeah it seems like it, but that's a little worrying, are they sure there prepared for it" said amy
"what do you mean?' chris asked
"well what she means chris is well i've done research on gun's military defenses and comparing their technology to the doc's technology is like comparing a tiny baby kitten to a giant hulking lion, there technology is nowhere near as advance as the doctor's and we've seen how dangerous robotnik's robots and other defense mechanisms are, they have no idea what there getting themselves into" said tails
"well they did say they were getting a special kind of reinforcement" said sonic
"yeah what exactly did they mean by that?" chris questioned
just then the gang heard the front door knock, this made chris jump he signal sonic and the other to hide, and they hid behind the couch
"i'll get it" said ella, she walked towards the door and opened, revealing the gun commander, the president aid and 2 soldiers
"um...can i help you gentlemen" ella asked
"good morning mamm, i am the commander of the guardian units of nation, i wanna ask is sonic home" the commander asked
sonic and the gang were surprise to hear that
"crap they know your here!" chris whispered
"i think i'm starting to know what they meant by "special reinforcement" sonic whispered
"oh you think!" chris whispered
"oh uh i don't know who that is, who is he" ella lied
the commander sighed "god i don't have time for this" he muttered, he then looked back at ella "look mamm there's no point in lying we know he's living here"
miss i'd like you to let sonic know that i didn't come here to capture him. i simply came at the request of the president to ask for his cooperation. you should also tell sonic that if he does agree to work with us, he'll be rewarded. the president gave his pledge that sonic and his friends will be offered citizenship, and they'll be paid for their services" jerome explained
"is that so"
the commander, jerome, and ella were surprise to see sonic standing there in front of them
"uh...i uh...this isn't what it looks like!" said ella
"sonic what are you doing!" said chris
"hey they say there not here to capture us and they offered us citizenship if we help them so who am to decline that offer, come on guys its fine to come out" said sonic
tails, amy, and cream hesitated for a moment but all 3 slowly came out of their hiding spot
"he he hi there" said tails
"oh boy" chris said nervously
"so the president wants are help" said amy
"so what kind of help is the president referring to?" sonic asked
the commander and jerome were still surprise to see him but they both snapped out of it
"cough um we want you and your friends to help in an attack against dr robotnik as i explained to ella here" said jerome
"wait how do you know my name?" ella asked
"we know all about you, this house, and its visitors" jerome explained
"yeah we know how you know, we discovered that spy of yours" said chris
"yeah uh sorry about that...anyway will you offer us your assistance" jerome asked
"yeah i'll help, i'm always down to give eggman a beatdown" said sonic
"thank you for your time by the way the names jerome wise" said jerome
"nice to meet you" sonic said as he shook jerome hand
"so he's not gonna hurt us" one of the soldiers blurt out
"james!" the other soldier said angrily
"no i'm not gonna hurt you guys...that is unless this is some kinda trap" said sonic
"i can assure you this is not a trap and in case you still don't believe us maybe are new agent will convince you" said the commander
"new agent?" said sonic
just then to sonic and the gang's surprise they saw rouge flying in the sky and she then landed right in front of them
"sup guys long time no see" said rouge
"rouge!" said amy
"hi ms rouge" said cream
"hey creamy how's your mom been" rouge asked
"been good" said cream
"its good to see your okay" said tails
"yeah...so your work for them now" said sonic
"yep i'm one of their newest spies" said rouge
"who is this is she a friend of yours" chris asked
"well save introductions for later sweetheart but right now lets get into the helicopter, the president is waiting for us" said rouge
"were flying there, nice to see were riding in style" said tails
the gang started walking outside, chris followed them but jerome stop him
"where you going?" said jerome
"uh following you guys in the helicopter" said chris
"sorry but we came for sonic and his friends no additional passengers" said jerome
"hey its cool if he comes, he's a close friend of ours" said sonic
"...well um the president only requested to pick just you guys up" jerome explained
"well hey if you want us to come you have to let him too" said sonic,
tails, amy, and cream nodded in agreement, jerome looked back at chris and sighed "come on"
"chris are you sure your grandpa would be fine with you going to another state" said ella
"yeah i'm okay with it" chuck said as he entered the room,"how many people can say they met the president, go on with them chris
"thanks grandpa" said chris, he followed the others outside, sonic noticed chris was stuffing his bo staff into his back pack
"what are you bringing that for" sonic asked
"oh you know just in case this is a trap and i have to knock a few guys out" chris whispered
sonic chuckled "okay mr paranoia"
"just looking out for ya mr one eye" said chris
sonic rolled his eyes "chris i told you before i have 2 eyes there just connected"
"he he yeah sure" said chris
sonic, chris, and the others then entered the helicopter, meanwhile jerome answered his phone
"tell the president were bringing sonic the hedgehog" said jerome
"hey can i meet the president too!" chuck said excitedly
"no" jerome said quickly as he closed the front door
"what would the president want to see you for" ella asked
"i couldn't offered him some of my homemade brown hair dye, his hair is starting to age a bit" said chuck
"oh yeah i saw it earlier and no offense mr thorndyke, but i don't think anyone want's some poorly made hair dye" said ella
chuck frowned" you could use some of it" he muttered
"what was that?" said ella
chuck snickered "nothing"
meanwhile at robotnik's base, he saw the news report about gun launching an attack on him, he wasn't fazed in the slightest
"so they came up with a plan to attack base huh well i hope its well thought out, their lives will depend on it" said dr robotnik
"in other new there was a chaos emerald buried in a corn field near tingalin villa" the news explained
"wow getting a chaos emerald and genocide, todays my lucky day" the doctor said to myself
meanwhile up in the sky the helicopter that was carrying sonic and the others was flying to the white house, inside the gang was having a conversation
"well i guess now's a good time for an introduction, names rouge the bat, part time spy and also part time jewel thief, so your chris huh i heard about you from stewart, i was told your quite skilled for your age" said rouge
"um thanks...so are you a friend of sonic" chris asked
"well friend is kinda stretching it" said sonic
rouge smirked "what the matter sonic you don't consider me a friend"
sonic smirked back "i don't hate you or anything but you don't exactly fit the description of a friend"
"we would like to have you as a friend" said tails " only except-
"you make it really difficult" said amy
"what do you mean by that" chris asked
"well we don't really interact that much but the few times we do its really only to distract us while you steal a a chaos emerald or any other valuable items we found" sonic explained
rouge shrugged "hey i can't resist a good looking gem, i guess you could say its a weakness of mine"
"well you haven't gotten any of my jewels yet" said sonic
rouge chuckled "well yeah that's a thing about you i respect, its usually easy for me to robbed people out of their jewels but you seem to be one of the few people that's one step ahead of me"
"yeah that one of the props of being the fastest thing alive" said sonic
"but my life doesn't just solely revolve around jewels, back at mobius i run a small spying business, people will hire me and pay me to spy on some shady individuals who are up to no good, and its my job to figure out what there up to, in fact sonic was my most recent costumer, he hired me to infiltrate one of robotnik's bases and see what defenses to expect while goes over there to rescue citizens the doc captured...by the way sonic you still haven't payed me yet" said rouge
"sorry left my bag of rings at the mansion" said sonic
"so you steal from people but you help them as well, so your some kinda anti hero" chris asked
"i guess that's a way of describing me" said rouge
"hey save the rest of your chit chatting for later, we arrived at the white house!" said the commander
the helicopter made it to central city, home of the white house
"neeto" tails said as he looked down at the white house
it landed and sonic and the gang got out, a familiar women was waiting for them at the white houses front door
"hey topaz were back" said rouge
"good and i see you were able to get sonic" said topaz
"took a little convincing but we applied" said sonic
"so who are you are you a friend of rouge" chris asked
"not exactly" said topaz
"her name is topaz, she's one of the gun soldiers, 2nd in command actually" said rouge
"2nd in command!, wow you have your work really cut out for you" said amy
"eh no big deal, just doing what i can to help the country i love: said topaz
"kinda was surprise to learn that myself i know she doesn't look like much but she's actually a passable soldier" said rouge
"just passable huh wow thanks" topaz said sarcastically
"well you didn't exactly leave a good first impression of your skills at the doc's base the other night, you still owe me for saving your skin the other day" said rouge
"were getting off topic her people everyone inside" the commander demanded
everyone went inside, jerome guided the gang into the president's office, and president himself was there waiting at his desk
"ah sonic the hedgehog its a pleasure to finally meet you" the president said as he got up and shook sonic's hand
"nice to meet you too" said sonic
"and i'm guessing the people behind you are you friends" said the president
"yep, tails, chris, amy, and cream" said sonic
"wait chris so your the boy who's house sonic and his friends been staying in" the president asked
"yep they didn't have anywhere else to turn to so being the kind and gentle soul i am, i took them in" said chris
"well chris your kindness is highly appreciated now then sonic i'm sure you already met the gun commander, agent topaz and my top aid jerome" said the president
"yeah i have and i heard you hired rouge to be a spy for you, by the way piece of advice if you have anything valuable in your pockets don't turn your back on her for a second" said sonic
"...i'll keep that in mind anyway all of you come sit by my desk and will get down to business" said the president
the gang sat down by the desk, however they were surprise to see a familiar echidna sitting there as well
"knuckles!" said sonic
knuckles was sitting down in a chair with his arms crossed, he noticed sonic and the gang
"bout time you guys got here" said knuckles
"knuckles what are you doing here" tails asked
"rouge tracked me down and told me i was invited to an important meeting at the white house, this better be important i was in the middle of searching for the emeralds i don't need to be wasting any time on any nonsense" said knuckles
rouge smirked "trust me echidna i wasn't even thinking of inviting you to are little party but the president insisted i get all the help i know"
the president coughed getting the others attention
"so sonic rouge has told me a lot about you guys, so i've heard you bit of a famous hero back in your world" said the president
"yeah something like that though i don't really care that much about recognition, i just do what i can to help out people in need" sonic responded
"right...so now then before we continue on i just want to let you know sonic we have no intentions to hurt you or your friends" said the president
"yeah we know your little spy clear things up" said chris
"...right so i'm sure your familiar with dr robotnik correct" the president asked
"...i've heard of him what about him" said sonic
"well as you may know by now he's been causing a,lot of trouble in station square lately and i've had just about enough of it, gun is planning on launching attack on robotnik's base that's located on a small island in the middle of the ocean, and we want your assistants to take it down, and if the mission goes well, in return we'll offer full citizenship to both you sonic and all your friends" the president explained
"so what your saying is if this mission goes well we won't need to hide anymore!" said amy
"that's the idea ma'mm you'll be allowed to freely go around the city and not expect any judgement from others" said the president
"say i heard we were gonna get paid as well that's good to hear considering this world doesn't use rings as currency" said tails
"paid?" said the president, he looked at jerome who responded with a nervous grin
"um r-right of course you'll definitely be paid" the president said while glaring at jerome "so are you guys in" he asked
"well if it means i don't have to be coop up in the mansion all day anymore then sure we'll gladly help" said sonic
"excellent" said the president
"you know if guys just needed my help to take down egg face you could've just said so in the first place you didn't need to do all that spying crap" said sonic
"...well uh the thing is the original intent was to find and capture you" the president
sonic frowned and raised an eyebrow "oh really" he said meanwhile knuckles was cracking his knuckles while chris was slowly taking out his bo staff from his backpack
"b-but not hurt you or anything just to get a closer look at you just to see whether or not your threat to the planet but its clear now who the real threat is so that stuff is behind us" said the president
"...i suppose so" said sonic
"anyway what exactly is your guys attack plan" knuckles asked
"were getting to that now" said the commander, he took out a map of robotnik's base and put it on the desk
"now you see there are power generators for robotnik's base under the tower, we were able to get this information by rouge and topaz" the commander explained
"well rouge i'm glad my confidence in you wasn't in place" said the president
"well this spy stuff is in my alley" rouge responded
"you 2 got that information" sonic asked rouge and topaz
"well i did" rouge responded
"wayda take all the credit" topaz remarked
"well i did do all the work" rouge responded
"anyway!, on to the attack plan" said the president
"it will be a 2 pronged assault from both sea and air" the commander explained, he then looked at sonic " sonic, you and knuckles will launched a frontal attack on the base i'll be sending my best soldiers to assist you"
"sounds good to me" sonic responded
"hmm sounds like a piece of cake" said knuckles
the commander then looked at tails" so your miles prower correct" the commander asked
"that's me but you can just call me tails" tails responded
"right so tails rouge told me your quite good with flying vehicles is that correct" commander asked
"yes sir" tails responded
"good to hear, you'll be assisting the air support in taking out robotnik's air defenses" said the commander
"sounds like a blast" said tails
"and as for you miss rose, your coming with us, while robotnik's robots are distracted with the frontal assault a special forces team will approach the island from the opposite side and sneak into the base from the rear. once they break into the generator room, they'll cut off robotnik's power supply, will also be backed up by a team from the intelligence agency including rouge and some other agents.
"i'll do my best sir" said amy
"...so...um...what will i be doing " chris asked
the president and commander looked at chris with confused faces
"i'm sorry what?' said the president
" um how will i be participating in this mission" chris asked again
the commander raised an eyebrow "your joking right were not bringing some child along on this mission"
what!" sonic and his friends said together
a tick mark appeared on chris head but it quickly disappeared
"okay um first of all you do know sonic and his friends are children too right" said chris
"technically teens but you make a point" said sonic
"and second of all okay understandable answer you don't know me very well...but uh could a normal child do this," chris then stand back and took out 2 concrete blocks, he toss them in the air and easily broke both of them with a punch and kick, which surprise the others except for sonic and the gang
"hmm that is quite impressive" said rouge
"or create these gadgets" chris said as he took out his metal bo staff, backpack jetpack, and newly made high tech goggles
the president raised an eyebrow "you made that stuff"
"yep i know i may not look like much but i'm quite skilled for my age" chris said confidently
"its true he's been helping me take out the robots the doc sent out to attack the city, including that large one sucking up satellites" sonic added
"he even manage to get to steal a chaos emerald from robotnik himself" said amy
"he's also the one who discovered the little snitch you sent" said tails
"snitch oh you must mean mr stewart" said the president
"he even hacked into area 99 security systems so sonic could rescue me" cream added
"wait what!" the commander and the president said together
"nothing nothing, she's just joking ! " chris said panicked voice
knuckles tried to change the subject "i seen the kid in action he ain't half bad"
"see what i mean i more than qualified enough to come on this mission" said chris
the president sighed "look mr thorndyke its not that i'm doubting your skills i just still think its best we don't drag you into this conflict"
sonic and the gang were annoyed by this
"dude i literally just said he was helping me fight off robotnik's army are you saying i'm lying" said sonic
i'm not saying that i'm just saying this is different from fighting robots at city were heading to the straight source of the threat, we sent gun soldiers to infiltrate the base a few days ago and they barley got out of there alive, and chris your tech, while indeed impressive isn't on the same level as the doctor's heck are technology isn't on the same level as the doctor's, that's why were enlisting sonic's help, so overall while i do appreciate the help you been doing around the city, this is a serious battle and we don't want to drag a innocent civilian into it, so i gonna have to agree with the commander the answer is no" the president explained
"come on quit being a party pooper and let him come" said sonic
"sorry sonic but we made are decision" said the president
"well hey you either let him come or you can kiss are help goodbye" sonic responded
chris put a hand on sonic's shoulder "its fine sonic no need to get all worked up"
sonic and the gang look at chris who have them a ressured smile
"if this mission go successfully you'll guys will have free citizenship, you won't have to hide anymore don't throw that chance away for me" said chris
"...you sure buddy" sonic asked
"yeah i'm am sure" chris responded
"...okay then if you say so...sorry you can't come buddy" said sonic
chris shrugged "eh they'll be other battles"
"thank you for your cooperation mr thorndyke, james get a copter ready and take this young man home" said the president
"yes sir come on along mr thorndyke" said james
"so um what do i do" cream asked
"you'll be returning with chris as well" the commander responded
"oh...okay then bye" said cream, she got up and followed chris and the soldier out
sonic and the gang watch as chris and cream leave, they were a bit disappointed that chris wasn't allowed to come
after that the president phone rang, he picked it up and answered it
"hello...really...thanks for telling me" the president then hanged up " i just got a call from mr stewart. apparently another chaos emerald has been found"
"yeah we know we were about to head out and get it til you arrived at our house" said tails
"not only that but he told me one of our spies saw robotnik leaving his base , he must be heading out to search for one of the emeralds, this is perfect, we can attack the base while he's gone, which will improve the odds of our success." said the president
"bummer i was hoping too see the doc's reaction for when we destory his base, he always makes this hilarious face when he's angry" said sonic
"but what about the emerald the doc is going after, remember we need all 7 of them if we want to get home" said knuckles
"don't worry will worry about that later, right now lets just focus on taking care of the doc's base" the president
"hey sonic we were going after that emerald too, chris and his friends are most likely gonna search for it when he gets back, your not worried that they might run into the doctor and he'll give them trouble" amy whispered to sonic
"nah knowing chris he can handle egg head himself" sonic responded
"alright then lets get this job done!" said the president
later on g.u.n and sonic and the gang were at area 99 getting ready for the signal to leave
meanwhile sonic and the gang were talking to rouge and topaz
"so rouge and topaz how did you guys meet" sonic asked
"well we found out she was the one behind the museum robberies and instead of arresting her the president hired her to be a spy for him" said topaz
"after that we did a infiltration mission at robotnik's base and buy we i mean me since i did most of the work" said rouge
"um aren't you forgetting that i took out a robot's alarm which was hurting your ears" topaz pointed out
"which you wouldn't need to do if you didn't let that robot capture you in the first place" said rouge
"keep it up with the smart comments cause remember we can still have you arrested for those jewel store robberies" said topaz
"rather be in a cell that hear your nagging by the way i see you still haven't lost weight yet " said rouge
topaz rolled her eyes and walked away
"she doesn't really seem to like you that much" said amy
"i don't blame her" said knuckles
meanwhile tails was talking with the air defense force, they were looking at a white fighter jet
"so you think you can handle this plane" one of the soilders asked tails
"you bet i can, i flew far more advance planes back at mobius, flying this baby will be like taking a nap" said tails
on the other side topaz walked to the commander
"are we ready to go commander" topaz asked
"yeah in a minute" the commander said in a annoyed voice
topaz raise and eyebrow " is something wrong commander?"
"if you must know topaz i don't really approve of the fact that the president doesn't think were capable of handling this mission ourselves, technology too advance my #ss back in my youth me and just a couple soilders were able to infiltrate an enemy base just with are our bare hands, and a couple of rocks and sticks, were capable of doing this ourselves we don't need that delinquent hedgehog's help" said the commander
"aww you guys are talking about me"
the commander and topaz were surprise to see sonic right next to them
"hey this is a private conversation!" said the commander
"for the record you think i want to team up with you guys it honestly would have been easier for just me and my friends to go over there and trash the place but now i gotta make sure you guys get out there safety as well" said sonic
"know your place hedgehog remember i'm the one who planned out this mission as long as your working with us your going my rules" said the commander
"hate to break it to you but i'm not much of a follow orders kinda guy i like doing thing my way but hey regardless of how well you guys do i'll make sure you get half the credit will that make you happy" said sonic
"grr just do your part and will do ours!" the commander growled
sonic snickered "sure thing commander" he walked back to his friends, he saw knuckles shaking his head
"you play too much you know that" said knuckles
sonic shrugged and then looked at rouge "anyway so earlier you said robotnik had a chaos emerald at his base"
"i discovered it the last time we were at the base but it slipped from me but i'll get it this time" said rouge
"oh no you don't knowing you you'll steal it and keep it for yourself, me and sonic's team will get it" said knuckles
"its shame were on separate teams i would've love to do some catching up knucks" said rouge
"please the further your away from me the better" said knuckles
rouge raised and eyebrow "oh come on your not still butthurt over that one time i tried to steal the master emerald are you, how was i suppose to know it was keeping that island of yours floating in the sky"
"you didn't give me a chance to tell you i kept running after you trying to tell you but you kept ignoring me!" said knuckles
"well i get it now giant emerald off limits not need to keep dwelling on the past" said rouge
knuckles scoffed and looked away with his arms crossed
meanwhile back at station square, a large tv screen on a building changed revealing scarlet by the white house, this got the attention of the citizens
"we interrupt our regular broadcast to bring you this live, emergency address from the president" scarlet explaine, the tv then change showing the president
"my fellow citizens, today our military forces launched an all-out assault against the headquarters of dr. robotnik despite repeated warnings, dr. robotnik has continued to threaten the peace and wellbeing of our nation, the conflict is unfortunate but we cannot allow dr robotnik to achive his goal of world domination we mist stop him now before its too late" the president explained,
the screen then change showing guns air force and battle ships at the ocean, making their, way to robotnik's base, sonic and knuckles were shown riding the wings of one of the planes, which got the sation square citizens
there's something on the nose of the craft. it's a blue- it can't be...a blue hedgehog?!" said scarlet
helen, frances, and danny were in the crow and they were surprise to see sonic "its sonic!" the 3 shouted
"what what is that thing?" said a teenager
albert and elmer were in the crowd as well and their eyes widen when they saw sonic
"his name is sonic the hedgehog!" albert and elmer shouted
the screen then shift back to the president
"yes not seeing things the what you all just saw was indeed real, now as a lot you may know there been reports of a blue creature being spotted all over station square, well i'm telling you all now that creature is real but he's not our enemy infact he's on side" said the president
sam speed was in the crowd as well, he smirked when he saw sonic
"see i told you all he was real!" sam shouted to everyone
"his name is sonic the hedgehog, and him, his friends, and robotnik are from a another world called mobius, and back at mobius, sonic is a world famous hero that protects the planet's citizens from the doctor goal of world domination, and he and friends are the key to us succesfully taking out the doctor's base and finally defeat him are our fate is in sonic's hands" said the president
chris was watching the news with cream, cheese and his family , he smiled any worry he had about sonic and his friends being taken away and experimented on has disappared
couple hours laters, gun's air force and battle ships has made it to robotnik's base, sonic and knuckles were sitting on the wings of the plane, tails was driving, while amy, topaz, rouge, and the commander was riding a battleship.
the air ships and battleships started firing missiles at the base but some kinda shield deflected them
"what the!, somethings deflecting are attacks!" said the commander, suddenly sonic contacted the commander from his communicator
"its a shield generator, the doc must have expected an attack like this to happen looks like were gonna have to take this base out from the inside" sonic explained
"very well then" said the commander
"meanwhile inside the base decoe and becoe saw the attack coming towards them
"looks like we got company" said decoe
"what should we do boss" becoe asked
despite being shown to leave the base earlier robotnik was right there in the room
"make them regret coming here" the doctor said with a smirk
back outside one of the battle ships made it to the island, and gun soilders came out of it, the front door of the base open and hundreds of robots came out of it, the 2 armies started firing at each other, sonic saw them from above
"ready knuckles" sonic asked
"l'll be fine you just worry about yourself" knuckles responded
sonic looked at tails "good luck up here buddy"
"right back at ya" said tails
sonic smirked "alright lets do this!" he shouted
and with that sonic and knuckles jump off the plane and skydived to the bottom, once they got to the bottom, sonic did a drop dash and ram into robots, knocking them out like bowling pins
knuckles, once he got to the bottom , punch the ground, creating a shockwave that destroyed more of the robots
"whoa" said the gun soilder
"are they gonna save some for us" said another gun soilder
just then even more robots came out the front gate
"charge!" knuckles said as he, sonic , and the gun soilders charges towards the robots
just then flying bots came out of the base and started firing missiles towards guns jets , which they tried dodge, however 2 of the jets got destroyed
"whoa! get ready kid this is gonna get messy" one of the gun soidlers said to tails
"im ready for anything" tails said as he and the rest of the air force started firing missiles back at the flying bots
meanwhile amy, rouge, topaz, and the commander, and gun soilders were hiding behind bushes that behind the base, they saw the attcak going on on the other side
"there putting up quite a fight" said rouge she then looked at amy "you ready for this"
"you bet i am" amy said as she took out her hammer which was now made of metal
"i see you gave your hammer a little upgrade" said rouge
"you can thank chris for that" amy responded
"where were you keeping that this whole time" topaz asked
"sometimes the less you know the better" amy responded
the commander saw the coast was clear
"alright crew lets knock out the power" said the commander
everyone nodded and snuck into the building
back at the base bokkun came out driving e-14 sneezer
"say hello to my little friend ha ha ha ha!" bokkun shouted as he started firing missiles at the battleships
meanwhile up in the sky E-11 beacon came out the base and started firing missiles at guns jets, it manage to destroy a few , but tails dodged them
"well look who's back" said tails, he charged towards beacon and fired missiles at it, damangeing a bit, beacon then chaged towards tail's plane
tails eye widen, he manage to get out of the way the last minute, he then saw beacon flying towards other gun planes,
"get back here!" tails shouted as he followed it
meanwhile amy's group used a bomb to break into the generator room that's under the base, rouge flew in there and gave everyone else the signal that the coast was clear
meanwhile in the hallways of the base sonic, knuckles, and gun soidlers were fighting through tons of robots
"so what's the plan exactly" one of the soilders asked
"while the others are taking out the power generator, were gonna get back the chaos emerald egg head stolen" sonic said as he took out the last robot in the room, he saw a large metal door up ahead, and he knocked it down it with a kick, sonic and his team walked in and they saw it was a large black and grey room, and at the end of it was container holding the blue chaos emerald
knuckles smirked "well that was easy"
"you can say that again" sonic responded, he walked toward the emerald to grab it but to him and the other surprise a blue beam of energy grab the emeralds and pulled it away
"what the" said sonic, after that he, knuckles, and the gun soilders were sourronded by thousands of robots
the beam of energy gave the emerald to robotnik who was in his egg mobile
"hello sonic i suppose you didn't come all this way for this did you" said dr robotnik
sonic and his team were surprise to see the doctor
"eggman!" sonic said in a surprise voice
"how are you here are spies said they saw you leaving the base" said knuckles
the doctor smirked evily "are you sure that was me?" he asked
we cut tingalin villa corn field, which chris, helen, frances, danny, mr stewart, and cream and cheese were walking through
"thanks for giving us a ride mr stewart" said danny
"sure thing anything for my favorite students" stewart said in a very cheery voice which weirded out frances a bit
"maybe you weren't wrong about him being a pedo" frances whispered to chris
"i heard that, i just trying to be nice, i just wanted to do something to make it up to you kids after the little drama we had the other day" said mr stewart
"mr stewart we told we don't care that your a spy we like you for you are" said helen
"glad to hear" mr stewart responded he then looked at chris" so this um chaos emerald you said there 7 of them and you need all them in order transport sonic and friends back to their world
"that's what sonic told me" chris responded
"so you sure the next one is here" helen asked
"it must be since the chaos emerald in the x tornado was glowing crazy as we flew above it earlier" said chris
"so anyway how things go at the white house" danny asked
"fine the president promise sonic and the others free citizenship if this attack on robotnik's base goes well however he refuse to let me come cause in his words "they didn't want drag an innocent civilian into this conflict" said chris
"and your surprise by that answer? they don't know you like we do" said frances
"i'm sure they only said that because they were concern for your safetly chris" said helen
"hmm strange when my bosses question about the boy sonic and his friends were staying with, i did tell them you were quite skilled for your age" said mr stewart
"well i show them proof i broke fricken concrete block infront of them and sonic and the other back me up and they still didn't trust me" said chris
"well if it makes you feel better they didn't allow me to come" said cream
"yeah...well no point on moping about it lets focus on finding that emerald" said chris, he then pulled out his high tech googles
"new invention of yours" helen asked
"yep these high tech googles should make finding the emeralds much easiar" said chris
" it looks pretty advance, the parts to build it must have cost a fortune" said mr stewart
"well when your rich, money isn't an issue" said chris
"while your invention is indeed impressive chris we won't be needing that cause you have me" danny said
"here we go again" frances said as she rolled her eyes
"what do you mean danny" mr stewart asked
"well my great grandfather was a highly intellagent and very skilled treaure hunter, so treaure hunting skills flow through my families blood" said danny
"though the intellagent part seem to have skipped a generation" said frances
"very funny, anyway with the skills past down before i'll be the one to find the emeralds" said danny, he then started sniffing the ground, which weirded out the other
"danny...uh buddy..w-what are you doing" chris asked
"well an emerald is a gemstone, and gemstones are said to sometimes have a scent of native arsenic and selenium, so everyone start sniffing the ground and see if you can get that kind of scent said danny, he then continued to sniff the ground which still weirded out the others
"remind me again why we hang out with him" frances asked, chris and helen elbowed her in the shoudler in response of her rude comment
couple of hours have passed, chris was scanning the ground with his high tech goggles, cream since she was a rabbit burrowed underground to find the emerald, cheese followed her, danny was still sniffing the ground, and helen, frances, and mr stewart were using shovel to dig
"so got any good spy stories" helen asked mr stewart
"well there was this one time i had to spy on this guy who my bosses belive was selling illegal pirated dvds" said mr stewart
"anything a little more exciting" frances asked
"well there was that one time i had to co underocver as a baker in westopolis to spy on a group who was creating dangerous weapory" said mr stewart
"chris!" danny shouted
"yeah!" chris responded
" i'm getting a native arsenic and selenium scent over here" said danny
chris got to where danny was, he used his high tech goggles to scan the ground and it detected high energy level reading
"guys i think we found the emerald!" chris shouted
helen, frances, and mr stewars heard them and ran towards them, chris contacted cream on his watch
"cream dig to your left" said chris
"on it!" cream responded
the gang heard cream dig underground, a few seconds later, both her and cheese pop out of the ground holding the yellow chaos emerald
"nice we did it!" helen said excitedly
"nice job danny" said chris
"told ya treaure hunting was in my blood" said danny
"well danny look like i was wrong to doubt ya great job said frances
"well done kids, so what's are next move" mr stewart asked
before chris could respond something snatched the emerald from which surprise him, they looked up and saw robotnik floating in the air
"robotnik!" said chris
"wrong" robotnik responded, he then suddenly transformed into metal sonic
"metal sonic!" said chris
"holigraphic disguises, get those idiots every time" said metal sonic
"what are you doing here" chris growled
"what do you think, to steal this emerald from your sorry little behind, the doc would have done it himself but he was aware of gun's little attack plan and trust me he's gonna make them wish they didn't set foot on his island" metal sonic explained
chris eyes widen
"well i better hurry up and take care of your guys if i want to join the slaughtering" said metal sonic
"you better give us back that emerald or things are gonna get messy" said cream
"you could say that, now if i may ask what blood type are you guys" metal sonic asked
everyone was confused by this question
"uh i don't know maybe A, i'm not sure" chris responded
"well i'll know for sure when you all are nothing but pieces of flesh" said metal sonic
"what?" chris responded
"just then a large flew above them and landed in front of them, it was a big yellow robot that resembled a bird, it had wings, feet, and a large fan on its chest
"E-35 suck them in" metal sonic said sinisterly
"just then E-35 activated its fan and its started sucking chris and the gang into the fans rotor, there feet then left the ground
"whoa everyone grab on to something quick!" chris shouted
everyone grabbed onto plants, which lucklily were strong enough to pull on, they all saw a scarecrow get sucked into fan, and it got shredded into pieces
"chris what are we gonna do" helen asked worridly
chris tried to think of something but i had no idea, he could hear metal sonic laughing evily
things weren't looking good for sonic, chris, and the rest of the gang, robotnik was aware of guns attack plan, and chris and his friends are about to be shredded, will sonic and his friends be able to turn the tables, find out next time on sonic x
