"So bored" she muttered as she leaned back in her cell on the ship, she was annoyed she let herself get caught but she also didn't care that much. It wasn't like she had too much longer to live, maybe another year or so , tops. There was only so much her devil fruit ,the fuyu fuyu fruit ,could slow the disease ravaging her body. She was however starving and didn't want to die on an empty stomach. Looking across, to the man in the other cell across, she noticed him messing with the lock.
"If you get out can you unlock my door as well" she asked not really caring if he said yes or no
"Huh" he said looking at her "Sure just let me... got it "
The lock fell to the ground with a clank as the man walked over and started working on unlocking her door
"It may be faster if you break these cuffs" she said holding her hands out
"Devil fruit user I'm guessing "he said as he used a nearby piece of metal to break the stone apart
"Yep" she said with a smile as the seastone cuffs fell to the ground and she clasped the bars causing them to freeze until she could just shatter them
"Huh ice powers" the man muttered
"Yep" she said smiling
"Are you just gonna keep responding that way"
"Yep"
"Ehh regardless let's get outta here I'm starving, the names Gin by the way "
"Frost" she replied with a smile she wasn't about to just give someone else her real name, she had made that mistake once before and nearly died for it because the person was a marine
They walked out grabbing weapons on the way as one guard noticed and ran towards a building they were docked next to? Which seemed to be floating
"Neat" she thought as she followed behind the man as he entered and shot the marine
She wasn't a big fan of killing in all honesty but after going through the grand line to get to the east blue, she was used to seeing others commit it at this stage, she walked past the Gin and walked up to a chef but before she could speak Gin levelled a gun to another chefs head demanding food. Seeing his friend in danger the chef grabbed her as a bargaining tool
"Put the gun down or your friend gets it" the chef said with a knife to her throat
Frost groaned of course she was being lumped in with the other guy
"She isn't my friend you can gut her all you like" Gin replied before getting hit on the head with a pan by another chef
The rest of the chefs grabbed the man and started dragging him out of the establishment as the chef who still had a knife to her throat let her go
"Sorry about that" the man replied "I don't like my colleagues getting hurt and just assumed you were with him"
"It's no problem" she said " I was actually going to ask if you needed anything done in exchange for food instead of you know;, threatening you"
"Well then you can talk to me" another man replied
She turned around to face his and promptly blurted out the first thing she thought
"That's a cool beard"
"Well thanks lass but if you want to do some dishes I'm sure we can set you up with a meal"
She nodded as they walked through the dining area
"The name is Zeff by the way" he said as she just nodded, honestly she wasn't in much of a talking mood considering her hungry nature
He showed her to the kitchen
As she entered there were a few chefs littered around and what seemed to be a blonde waiter
"Hey shitty old man" the blonde man said "What's with the lovely lady"
"She's gonna help clean the dishes in exchange for a meal" he said looking at the man
"A lady shouldn't have to sully her hands with dishes for a meal" the blonde responded
"Well brat then maybe I'll give her some of your pay instead" he countered which didn't seem to bother the other man as he simply walked away grabbing a dish he was working on
She ignored this exchange as she started working on dishes, it reminded her of when she helped her brother clean the dishes. She got to work on the dishes and quickly was able to finish an entire stack in a good time, she was about to start the next stack when the blonde man came back in followed by a boy in a straw hat
"Come on join my crew" the boy asked
"Sorry can't, I still owe that geezer" the blonde said
"But don't you have a dream" the boy retorted
"Yes but the answer is still no"
"I refuse your refusal"
Frost curious as to the crew the boy was talking about decided to speak up
"What crew?" she asked the boy as he started smiling
"My crew of course? I'm Monkey D Luffy and I will be king of the pirates"
"Huh thats cool" she replied " Have you been to the grand line yet"
"Nope" The boy responded with a smile
"Oh well it's pretty nice, I passed through it to get to Lougestown before some Marines arrested me for vandalism" she said
"What did you do" he asked
"Painted a bunch of anti marine stuff around the town" she said "I have my reasons"
"So you're an artist then" he said
"It's mainly a hobby that I like using to piss off marines, why do you ask"
"Just wondering , do you have a dream?"
She thought for a second before speaking
"I want to live my life to the fullest and if that gets on any marines nerves it's a bonus" she replied
The boy nodded before smiling
"Well I'm pretty sure we'll get in plenty of trouble in my crew, wanna join"
"Sure" she didn't have anything better to do
"Oh cool, by the way what's your name?"
"Frost" she replied
"No second name" he asked only getting a nod in response
"She obviously doesn't want to share her real name dumbass" the blonde man said
"Mainly since I'm wanted" she muttered
"Cool you have a bounty" Luffy said looking even more eager to know her
"In the North Blue anyways" she answered
She finished the last dish and turned around to ask for her food payment when she saw a meal laying there. Her brain took a second to realise it was probably her food when the blonde man was standing there waiting for her to eat. She sat down and started devouring the meal quickly.
"So good" she said
"Hey don't rush" the blonde man said
"It's so good though" she replied with her mouth full
"Well shouldn't you savour it" he said
"I am " she retorted as she finished her meal
She got up and hugged the blonde man
"Thank you for the meal" she said as she noticed the man's nose started bleeding
'Weird' she thought as the man stayed there frozen, either way she should probably go find that boy who's crew she agreed to be on.
She walked out and saw a ship that had a crudely drawn Jolly Roger with a strawhat on it. She went over and walked aboard, she looked for the boy she found earlier, however she couldn't find him so she decided to draw whilst sitting on the deck of the boat. Nearly an hour later and she had filled her drawing book with sketches of Zeff, Luffy, the blonde man.
"Not bad" a voice came from behind
She looked behind to see a boy with a long nose looking at the drawings
"I'm Usopp" he said " I think you got on the wrong ship"
"Oh is this not Luffy's ship" she said
The boy squinted his eyes at her as if he was analysing her
"Yeah, it is " he said as his hand went to his slingshot "Why do you want him"
She could see that Luffy clearly did not tell his crewmates yet and this must be one of them
"He invited me to be on the crew" she said getting up from the floor
Usopp visibly relaxed at that
"Of course he forgets to tell us that" he said "Well I'm the ships captain Usopp"
"He's not" another voice came from behind him
"Aww, come on Zoro" Usopp groaned "Couldn't of you let me had that one"
The green haired man called Zoro didn't respond to him and looked at Frost
"You some sort of thief" he said like it was a milf inconvenience if they were being robbed
"New crewmate" she replied as she noticed another two figures behind him walking towards them
"Huh who's this" a ginger girl asked
"Frost ya made it" Luffy said as he grabbed the mast , extending his limbs in the process, to slingshot himself towards the group
"I did, You never said you had a devil fruit" she replied
"Huh oh yeah I ate the Gomu Gomu fruit, it makes me a rubber man" he said demonstrating by stretching his cheeks
"That's nice I won't be the only one" she responded
At that the crew looked at her
"What" she said, did she offend them by having her devil fruit
"SHOW US" Luffy shouted as the ginger slapped his head
"Its rude to ask people to show off"she replied
"No its fine" Frost said as she held her hand out as a piece if ice formed in her hand " I ate the Fuyu Fuyu fruit which allows me to decrease the temperature around me forming ice"
Luffy and Usopp seemed impressed, Zoro indifferent and the ginger haired girl looked like she was pondering uses.
Luffy then introduced everyone else, Usopp was the sniper, Zoro was the swordsman, Nami , the girl, was the navigator and Sanji , who wasn't there was the chef
"You haven't gotten him to agree yet Luffy" Nami said at the last part
"I will though" He said as the rest of the crew groaned.
After a small celebration about her joining Frost went into the girls cabin to have some time alone. She flipped the pages to a unused page and started drawing the strawhats, she probably spent too long drawing as after she was finished it was nighttime and during her drawing Nami had come in and went to sleep. She flipped the pages to the start of the book as she looked at one of her first pictures
"I miss you mom, dad, Law " she muttered before closing the book that had one thing labelling it as hers
