Chapter 1: The Beginning, Part 1

Robin let out a quiet sigh as he glanced at the clock at the front of the classroom, watching as the seconds slowly ticked by. He just had to wait a bit more, and he would be free to get out of this hellhole and go home. The words part of the teacher's lecture simply entered his head through one ear and exited through the other. He couldn't care less what she was talking about.

Unfortunately for him, it seemed that the teacher noticed this, and her eyes locked onto the bored student. Robin was quick to notice this sudden change as well, and silently gulped as he prepared for the worst. Was she going to ask him a question or something? He knew that if he got it wrong, he'd probably have to write a really long essay at home. After all, his teacher had made it abundantly clear that this stuff was going to be coming on their final exam…

Fortunately for Robin, however, the moment she opened her mouth the bell began to ring.

"Yes! Freedom at last," Robin excitedly thought to himself, pushing his chair back and glancing at his teacher as he stood up. Her lips thinned into a straight line as she narrowed her eyes at him, and Robin visibly shrunk under her gaze. "D-Dang it, I know that look…Maybe not…"

"Robin, before you go, can you please tell us a quick summary of what we had learnt today?" the educator inquired, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow at Robin. "And the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do."

All eyes were on Robin, who visibly began to sweat. He nervously ran a hand through his black hair and, after a few moments of racking his brain for ANYTHING that he could remember from the lecture, he simply let out a sigh.

"I…Can't remember. I'm sorry, ma'am," he mumbled, hanging his head low and trying to keep the snickers of his classmates out of his mind.

The teacher simply huffed and rolled her eyes. "How typical. Your grades are already incredibly low, Robin. How do you expect to pass if you're not even paying attention in class?"

Before he could even respond, the teacher raised her hand.

"Everyone else, you may be dismissed. Robin here will stay behind and clean the classroom before going home," she stated matter-of-factly. "Does everyone understand?"

A chorus of loud yeses that contrasted Robin's meek 'sure…' echoed throughout the classroom, and in just a few minutes the classroom was completely empty, save for the raven-haired student.

A sigh escaped Robin's lips as he glanced at the window, looking on at all of the students leaving the school. From up here they all looked like teeny-tiny ants, crawling alongside one another.

Shaking his head, the raven-haired boy quickly got to work, pushing chairs underneath desks and cleaning up the crumbs of any candies that his classmates had been secretly munching on during class. He also took it upon himself to clean the windows and arrange the items on his teacher's table.

He was able to do all of this and a bit more in a quick and efficient manner, and this was mostly due to the fact that this was not the first time he had been caught not paying attention in class. It was a punishment that he had gotten used to, and in all honesty one that he had begun to slightly enjoy.

On his own, he didn't have to compare himself to anyone, or listen to anyone else's words. He could just lose himself in the boringness of his tasks, thinking about anything and everything that he wanted without being forced to learn about things that did not really interest him.

However, as he worked, the severity of his situation began to become apparent. It was true that his grades were…Abysmal, for the lack of a better word. When it came to questions that required creativity, he was fine because he could always create a bullshit way to answer them, but apart from that he always ended up getting things wrong. This upcoming exam was his last chance at securing a good grade.

If he failed, he'd have to repeat tenth grade, and he just knew for a fact that his parents would be less than happy with that. After all, they had sent him to an entirely different city away from them, forcing him to live alone, solely so that he could get a better education.

Of course, that's just what they said. Deep down, Robin had a feeling that they just didn't really want to see his face anymore…

Letting out a sigh at both his realization and because of the fact that he had just exerted a lot of energy to clean up the classroom, Robin made his way on over to his backpack, which was leaning against the leg of his chair, and opened it up.

Grabbing and cracking open a small juice box, Robin opened a nearby window and leaned outside, looking on at the sunset. Just how long had he been here? He really lost track of time…

"I've got to do better when it comes to my studies," the young man thought to himself seriously, shaking his head and closing his eyes. "I've got to turn my life around…And that's going to be the first step! I'm not going to be a loser with no friends who gets left behind to clean up class anymore! No, I'm going to-"

He was cut off when a massive gust of wind hit his face, causing him to immediately be sent crashing back into the wall behind him, causing a few posters to flutter to the floor as well. The juice box fell out of his hand, and he let out a groan as he landed onto the ground, his body aching all over.

Unfortunately, this wasn't just a one and done sort of thing. The gust of wind was continuous, and Robin had to use up all the strength that he could muster just to get up to his feet. It took even more effort to make it to the window and figure out just what was going on.

However, he truly wished he hadn't.

It looked like…An explosion of sorts had gone off, which was causing the massive gusts of wind. There was even what he assumed to be a massive mushroom cloud that was a direct result of the thing.

However, there was something…Off about it.

It didn't look like any mushroom cloud that he had seen in movies or in his history books. This one was completely white, with no flames or grey clouds in sight. What's worse, it seemed to be…Expanding, somehow. It was blinding to look at, and yet Robin just could not take his eyes off of it.

Robin slowly took a step back as the massive white cloud grew larger and larger, engulfing buildings both big and small.

And then, before he knew it, the massive white light had engulfed the school as well. It was at this moment that he realized that this was no mushroom cloud, but rather some strange ever-expanding white orb that absolutely obliterated everything it swallowed.

And unfortunately for Robin, he had just been enveloped in the terrifying white light.

The teenager let out a scream as his body began to burn. He felt as though he was getting pulled on in every direction. He felt his skin peel off. He felt his insides turn to mush. He felt what little blood that had actually managed to actually stay inside himself boil to a dangerous level.

He was dying, slowly and painfully.

The boy clawed at his face, trying to at least keep that together. Unfortunately for him, he felt his the liquified remains of his skin and flesh trickle through his fingers.

Tears that evaporated as they hit the floor trickled down his mangled face, and Robin collapsed to his knees as the whole world was engulfed in that damn white light, each and every single person experiencing the same exact torture that he was going through.

Was this it? Had the world actually just ended?

He had so much to live for! It wasn't fair! It wasn't fair at all…

A small croak left what remained of his voice box, and as he looked down to the ground, Robin slammed his eyes shut. Considering how his eyelashes had been completely burnt off he could still feel that blinding white light enter his vision, blinding him in the process.

The torture continued for who knows how long, and then…

Nothing.

The pain disappeared, and the small amount of light that had managed to peak through the gaps in his eyelids suddenly vanished alongside it. His body also wasn't being doused in what felt like heat coming straight from the sun. In fact, his body suddenly felt…Cold. Also less hurt, which was always a good thing.

Robin slowly opened one eye, his hands falling down onto the earth to ensure that he didn't faceplant into the…Grey grass beneath him? He blinked twice to ensure that he hadn't gone crazy, but no. The white light was just…Gone. And instead, he was sitting in a patch of grey grass.

The teenager quickly scrambled up to his feet and took a look around at his surroundings. To say the area that he was in was bleak would be an understatement. The sky was a dull, diluted grey instead of the fresh orange that it was because of the sunset a few minutes prior, and there was an endless expanse of dead trees and grass as far as his eyes could see. There was no life whatsoever.

It was almost as though he was in another world or something…

"Is this…Hell?" Robin whispered to no one in particular, apprehensively taking a step forwards. He winced at the sudden crunch of dead grass underneath his foot and slowly looked down. He wasn't wearing shoes. In fact, he wasn't wearing anything. His school uniform was just gone.

That would explain why it was so cold…

"Not quite," a new voice spoke up behind him, immediately causing Robin to swivel around to face the new arrival.

Before him stood an unnaturally tall man with long, lanky arms that hung at his sides. He had dark grey skin that resembled a rock, and said skin was covered in small scars. He was dressed up in what appeared to be a black tuxedo which was accompanied by a red tie. He also had spiky black hair, and his eyes…They were piercing and yellow, and they were staring straight at him. Straight into his soul, it felt like.

Robin winced under the new arrival's harsh gaze and, after realizing the situation that he was currently in, quickly proceeded to cover up his privates with nothing but his hands.

This reaction simply caused the stranger to let out a dry chuckle, waving his arm dismissively at the teen.

"Hah! What a reaction. You puny mortals don't have anything that I haven't seen before. There's no need to be so flustered," the stranger in the suit stated matter-of-factly, before a playful smirk appeared on his face. "And besides, there's quite literally nothing to cover either. That thing is…Microscopic."

Robin's face turned bright red, and he proceeded to clench his fists. However, after a few moments, he let out a sigh and proceeded to relax. "I'd argue you with you…If it wasn't true."

"Or maybe if you had a spine," the stranger coughed, before clearing his throat and adjusting his ruby red tie. "But anyways, you're probably wondering what you're doing here, correct? And just who I am, as well?"

"I…Y-Yeah. What is this place?" Robin quickly asked, nervously wringing his hands together as he looked around at his surroundings. Another gust of wind followed, immediately causing Robin to shiver once more. However, he wasn't sure if it was because of the wind, or because of the fear he was feeling in his heart. "I, uh…The last thing I remember was…Well, I was cleaning up the class at school when all of a sudden this huge light appeared in the middle of the city and engulfed everything! I…Then I started dying after that. That's all I can remember. I woke up here shortly after. Please…Tell me what's going on!"

The stranger scoffed, rolling his eyes at Robin.

"Mortal, you didn't have to recount everything for me. I was watching it, after all," he said coldly, causing Robin's eyes to widen.

"Wait…What?! How is that even possible?!" the teenager asked in complete and utter disbelief, his eyes as wide as dinner plates. "You…You would be dead too if that were the case! A-And why do you keep on calling me 'mortal'?! Are you-"

Before he could even finish, however, a sudden realization hit Robin like a truck. He apprehensively took a few steps away, causing the stranger to throw his head back and cackle.

"Hahahaha! So, you've finally figured it out, eh?" the grey-skinned entity inquired, slowly floating into the air and extending his arms out to the side. Two blades formed within them and he promptly proceeded to clang them together, smirking as he did so. "I am a god. The god responsible for overseeing what happens to mortals after death, more specifically. The guys who decide whether you go to heaven or hell? I'm their boss. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you but, heh, this is just a big waste of my time, so it truly isn't."

Robin gulped and looked up at the strange being. A…God? And from what he was implying, there were MULTIPLE gods? The thought alone was crazy…And yet considering what he was experiencing right now, the whole idea didn't seem so impossible…

"S-So why am I…Here and not in either of those places? You know, heaven or hell?" Robin nervously asked, looking up at the god. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to know the answer, in all honesty…

At this, the smirk that was present on the god's face immediately fell, and was replaced with a frown. He descended towards the ground and, upon landing, took a few brisk steps towards Robin until he was towering over him like a predator. He stabbed his swords into the ground, and then crossed his arms.

Considering how long they were, it looked pretty creepy.

"Mortal, I'm not even going to sugarcoat it," the god stated matter-of-factly, looking down at Robin with an uninterested look on his face. "Your entire universe? It's dead. Each and every single person that lived there is gone. That white light was a huge explosion…And it wiped out everything in your entire universe, including your reality's version of heaven and hell. The souls of everything and everyone who ever existed, and ever was going to exist, are gone. Forever. And there's no way to get them back."

Robin's eyes somehow widened even further at this, and an audible gasp escaped his lips. He unintentionally took a few steps back and fell onto the floor, clutching his head as he tried to grasp the sheer severity of what had just occurred.

This had to be a dream, right? Everyone, everything…Was just gone.

His parents? Gone. His teachers and classmates? Gone. Sure, he didn't have any friends whatsoever and wasn't on the best of terms with basically everyone in his life due to the constant abasement that he received from them for basically every day of his relatively short life…But still, he never could have wished such a fate to befall any one of them. And all of the innocent people, too, on top of that…

What's worse was that the genuinely deplorable people of the world weren't given a chance to be punished for their sins, and the genuinely good people weren't given a chance to be rewarded. Everything and everyone was just…Gone. Deleted from existence with nothing to prove they were even there in the first place.

Everything and everyone…Except him.

"S-So why am I still here?!" Robin manically asked, looking up at the god as he clutched his head. At this point he was shaking like a leaf in the wind. "How is it possible for an explosion to just wipe out…Everything?! That doesn't make any sense! Who is insane and strong enough to create such a thing?! And how did I survive it?! I…I don't even deserve it! I-"

"Oh, do shut up. You're going to make my ears bleed," the god angrily grumbled, shoving one of his long fingers into his ear. Once he was done with…That, he proceeded to look back at Robin with an uninterested expression on his face. "Listen, I have no idea how you're alive. In all honesty, it would have been better for me if you were turned into nothingness like everyone else from your world. It'd make my job easier. But anyways, to answer your manic little questions…I have absolutely no idea. An entire universe being wiped out is a strange thing, sure, but it's not anything new. It's happened before, and it's probably going to happen again. It's actually become a bit more frequent, in all honesty, which is kind of worrying… For now I'm just going to guess that it was just a freak occurrence, and due to some…Universal glitch your world just collapsed in on itself."

Robin blinked away the small tears that had formed in his eyes and, with a bit of effort, managed to get up to his feet.

"Universal…Glitch?" he inquired, staring at the god in complete and utter confusion. "That sounds made up…"

"Hey, I'm just responsible for where mortals go. I don't know shit about how the universe actually works!" the god angrily snapped, before taking a deep breath and calming himself down. "But we're getting off-topic here. Telling you what happened and listening to your pathetic little cries is not why I brought you here to my domain."

"Really? Then why did you?" Robin sniffled, wiping his nose with his forearm.

"Ugh, you're acting like a scared child. Grow up," the god angrily told the teenager, who simply gulped.

"Y-Yes sir…" Robin whispered, hanging his head down low. Inside his head he wanted to shout at the god for speaking to him like that. After all, his entire universe was just destroyed! He deserved to cry at least a little. However, he chose to remain silent for the time being.

"Yikes, you really are soft…" the god grumbled, before shaking his head and smirking. "But anyways, it's time for me to tell you the truth of why I brought you here. You see, normally, I would just send your soul to the guy responsible for the decision making in your universe and then be on my way. However, since he was…Erased along with everything else in your world, you were brought to me. Through some weird, one in a quadrillion kind of luck, you managed to survive the destruction of your universe. That comes with advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that, well, you're alive! The disadvantage, unfortunately, is that I have no idea what to do with you."

Robin gulped. "Wh-Why can't you just, you know, send me to the heaven or hell of…Another world?"

"And what makes you think that there are other worlds?" the god asked incredulously, raising an eyebrow at Robin.

The teenager proceeded to weakly smile up at the deity.

"There are many gods, and I just survived the destruction of my entire universe," he said, his voice incredibly strained. It was pretty obvious that he could break out into tears at any given moment. "I think the idea of 'multiverse theory' being correct isn't that farfetched…"

This comment earned two blinks from the god, who then followed it up with a chuckle and shook his head.

"Well, you know what multiverse theory is. Good. It'll make my explanation a whole lot easier," he said, snapping his fingers. Small blue orbs appeared around both him and Robin, and he began to explain. "Indeed, there are an infinite number of universes out there. Some are wildly different from each other, and others are almost the exact same with just a few differences here and there. Unfortunately, even though it'd make this whole issue far easier, I can't just plop you into another world's heaven or hell. It'd mess with the atoms of the other universe and could possibly cause another explosion like the one you just experienced…Or something like that. I don't know. The important thing to know is that your soul is only compatible with YOUR universe's version of heaven or hell. Plopping you into anything else would cause problems. And considering how your universe's versions are just gone…Yeah, that's probably not going to work."

He then rubbed his chin.

"And even if I wanted to take the risk and do that, no one would be able to judge you properly since any and all records of your deeds were lost along with the destruction of your universe."

"Was…Was there really a record of that sort of stuff?" Robin asked in slight disbelief.

"Hey, the guys responsible for that sort of stuff were VERY thorough. I should know since I'm the one who made sure they were fit for the job," the god said with a smirk, before frowning a little. "Or, uh, I was the one who trained the one who was responsible for training the one who was responsible for that…But hey, if you go far back enough, I'm at the top."

"Heh. I guess even the gods outsource their jobs to others," Robin dryly noted, before shaking his head and looking down at his bare feet. "But anyways…Does that basically mean there's nothing for me to do? What's going to happen to me? I can't go to heaven or hell, and there's not exactly a world left for me to haunt. You know, like a ghost…"

"Yeah, you're right. You're pretty unique. I think you're like the second guy in the looooong history of the multiverse to survive the literal destruction of your universe by pure chance and still be intelligible enough to tell the tale," the god of death casually responded, putting his hands behind his head. "But anyways…You're in luck! I had to converse about this with the other gods, but I think I have a wonderful solution for you!"

"R-Really? What is it?" Robin inquired, eager to know just what the god was alluding to.

"Like I said before, there are an infinite number of universes," the god explained his plan. "So, it was decided that YOU should go ahead and be placed in one of them. You'll have all of your current memories intact, but you're going to be given a new body so that your atoms, ya know, don't mess anything up. However, since your whole situation is kind of a messed up one, we're going to be giving you a few advantages to help you settle into your new life in this world a bit more easily."

Robin was intrigued by this and raised an eyebrow at the deity. "Advantages? What kind?"

"Well, for starters, you'll be a bit more younger. You're pretty young right now, but you're going to be eleven years old in your new life," the god explained, raising his finger. "This is the perfect age for a mortal like you to learn new things, and as a younger individual you're more likely going to receive help from the locals. There are a few other things…But I think it would be better to keep them a secret for the time being."

"Eh? B-But what does keeping them from me do for you?" Robin quickly asked, raising his voice ever so slightly. "Wouldn't it be better for me to know about all of my, uh, advantages before I actually enter this new world so I can use them effectively?!"

"Hey, I'm not your friend. I'm a GOD," the deity reminded Robin, smirking slightly. "And everyone else who was included in this operation are gods as well. It could prove rather entertaining for any deities who decide to check in on you to see you figuring out your new abilities."

"Of course that's the case…I'm basically a joke to everyone…" Robin mumbled quietly enough so that the god couldn't hear him, sagging his shoulders slightly as he did so. "W-Well, thanks anyways…I really appreciate this…"

"Yeah…No problem, mortal," the god of death said, a genuine smiling forming on his face. It was warm, comforting, and in direct contrast to his appearance…Of course, his usual stony expression quickly reappeared, and he promptly proceeded to snap his fingers. The whole world began to shake. "But anyways, get the hell out of here, fool. I need my peace and quiet!"

Robin collapsed to his knees, really not expecting the sudden earthquake. All of the blue orbs from before suddenly vanished into thin air, except for one of them. This little orb in particular suddenly began to grow bigger and bigger until, eventually, it transformed into a portal!

The teenager let out a gasp as he was suddenly pulled into the thing, and he let out a scream as he felt his current body get stretched out like a rubber band as this occurred. He then looked down at his hands and gulped as his current body began to fade away.

That god DID mention that he was going to be getting a new body…But he failed to mention that his current one was going to be completely and utterly destroyed before that happened!

He hissed in pain as this occurred, but after a few minutes of concentration he managed to get used to it. It thankfully wasn't as painful as that explosion from earlier, which was always a good thing.

Having managed to keep the pain to a bare minimum, Robin then began to look around at his surroundings. It was like he was falling through a tube slide or something, and the shades of blue surrounding him from all sides pushed this idea even further.

However, after concentrating on them for a few brief moments, his eyes widened as he realized that these weren't just random colors…They were images and visions!

Countless of these things began to flash before his eyes as his surroundings began to grow brighter and brighter, until they were practically blinding. Through the light, he saw images of strange things that made little to no sense whatsoever...

A giant green dragon with piercing red eyes looking down at a group of people who stared up at it in awe.

A green-skinned creature that towered over a group of three young warriors, cracking his neck before immediately firing what appeared to be a massive beam of yellow energy from its mouth.

A creature that resembled the previous one duking it out with a spiky-haired man in a gladiator-like arena as countless people watched with bated breath.

A young, blonde-haired woman standing atop a cliff.

An intimidating man with long white hair dressed up in blood-red armor sitting atop a similarly dressed steed. An aura of sheer and absolute power emanated from his body, and he seemed to be commanding an army.

A spiky-haired short man in strange blue armor, accompanied by a larger bald man dressed up similarly walking through a desert, smirking as they approached a group of trembling warriors.

A white-skinned lizard-like creature with strange purple crystals on his body looking on at a group of fighters with an uninterested expression on his face.

A man with green skin and black dots on his body crossing his arms and smirking as he looked up at the night sky. Out of nowhere a powerful aura envelloped his body, and electricity began to crackle around him as he crossed his arms.

A giant of a man with glowing green hair cackling like a madman as he dashed towards an unsuspecting victim.

A young man with white hair and piercing red eyes staring down an incredibly large army. A dragon seemingly made out of pure darkness was floating behind him. With a wave of his hand, the dragon opened its humongous jaws.

A girl with red pigtails, a boy grey hair, a boy with dark blue hair, a girl with a unique blade in her hands, and an older man with white hair all panted as a girl in a blue maid's outfit smirked sadistically at them.

A stony-faced mercenary with blue hair pulling out a sword that resembled a spine.

Some fat pink creature throwing a temper tantrum, causing the earth to shake in the process.

A purple-skinned cat man putting his hands behind his back and turning around, an uninterested expression on his feline face.

And finally, a man in pitch black armor with piercing red eyes unsheathing a massive sword.

All of these and so many more nonsensical images flashed through his mind, causing Robin to clutch his head in agony. However, so far, all of these images appeared to have no relation to whatsoever.

However, after a few moments, a video of sorts started playing…

Robin was now standing in a dark room, and he had to squint his eyes to truly realize that he was standing in some sort of really important place, as the walls and floor were covered in all sorts of intricate designs, not to mention that they were made of some sort of expensive-looking metal.

He also realized that, unlike the other images where he was viewing them in the third person, he was standing right there and literally experiencing it.

Confusedly, Robin looked down at his body and noticed that he was…Taller, for some odd reason. He was also wearing a rather heavy black cloak that was covered in all sorts of purple designs that he did not recognize at all. Underneath the cloak he was wearing a white shirt and a pair of white pants. He was also wearing some sort of weird blue cuffs around his wrists.

The sounds of battle bombarded his ears, and he looked up to see a young man with blue-hair dressed up in a black and white outfit that exposed a strange logo on his shoulder doing battle with a tall, skinny man that looked like the villain of a Saturday morning cartoon. He was wearing a black and gold outfit that seemed as though it would belong to a mage in some fantasy story, and in his hand, he was holding a book with a black cover.

The young man with blue hair, meanwhile, was holding a rather impressive looking sword…And was charging straight at the other guy!

"Take this!" the swordsman cried out, swinging his blade twice at his foe. Blue arcs of sheer energy erupted out of the blade, though the man with the book simply spun around to avoid both of the attacks. He then smirked and, as the energy-arcs collided with the wall and caused it to explode, proceeded to flip rapidly through the pages of his book.

He raised one hand and a massive ball of purple and black energy that illuminated the room in its disgusting light formed in his palm.

"DIE!" the man with the book screamed, flinging the ball of swirling energy straight at the other man.

He really WAS some sort of wizard!

The swordsman did not seem deterred in the slightest, however, and simply proceeded to bring his sword down, slicing the ball of energy cleanly in half. The two remains flew into opposite directions and exploded upon colliding with the wall, causing the whole building to shake.

Robin gulped as he looked around at his surroundings. However, before he even knew it, he himself began to raise his hand. He confusedly looked at it for a few seconds, though his eyes suddenly threatened to pop out of his head as a ball of energy formed within it.

He quickly looked upwards and, much to his confusion, realized that now only the blue-haired man was standing there, and that the other guy was nowhere to be found.

"Up there!" the swordsman shouted out, punctuating his exclamation by pointing his cool-looking sword skywards.

Robin looked up and his eyes widened as the man holding the book was now hovering in the air with one hand raised, a ball of energy somehow even bigger than the last one forming within it. He then sent it crashing down into the floor, and Robin expected both him and the blue-haired guy to be engulfed by it.

However, much to his surprise, his body proceeded to act on his own and he FLEW up into the air. He had to remind himself that this was probably another one of those random visions like the ones he had seen before, just from a first person view this time. This, of course, did not make it any less weird in the slightest.

He glanced to his side and spotted the blue-haired guy, who was also floating.

The two of them nodded at each other, and Robin was forced to sort of just sit back and watch as he was made a spectator in his own body. He looked on in awe as he and the blue-haired swordsman worked together to fight with the tall, dark, and scary man floating in the air. The three of them flew around, with Robin somehow unleashing lightning from his fingertips and the other guy swinging his blade around like a madman.

Robin couldn't believe what he was seeing, not even daring to look away for even a second.

However, a few seconds later, he ended up blinking and…The scene before him was entirely different. The man with the book was on the ground, coughing up some blood, while he and the swordsman were standing together triumphantly over his body.

"Chrom, the prince of Ylisse…And Robin, my very own child…" the man growled out, clenching his fists before harshly slamming one of them into the ground. "DAMN YOU BOTH!"

The blue-haired swordsman simply chuckled, before looking at Robin. His face was dripping with sweat, and even the most oblivious of people could tell that he was tired. However, despite this, he managed to flash Robin a genuine smile.

Chrom, the scary guy had called him, began to speak.

"We won the day…Thanks to you," he said firmly, putting a hand on his shoulder. "We did it…It's over now. At long last…"

Robin wanted to ask who the hell this guy even was, but his mouth seemingly moved on its own.

"Yeah…We managed to do it by working together," Robin hoarsely replied, his voice a lot deeper than he last remembered it being. He then raised a hand to his head and groaned slightly. "H-However, my head suddenly…Hurts…"

"Robin? Are you okay?" the swordsman inquired, concern evident in his voice. He raised a hand to try and help Robin out. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Robin was confused as to what was going on, once again having no idea what was about to happen despite the fact that he was watching things from…His own point of view? Was this an older version of him? He shared his name, but he was also taller…

Regardless, what happened next was so shocking to Robin that he seemingly forgot any of these questions.

Robin proceeded to form what appeared to be a blade made out of pure electricity…And shoved it straight into Chrom's stomach! The other man let out an alarmed gasp, his eyes widening in shock, and proceeded to take a few weak steps back, clutching his stomach. Robin himself was just as shocked as that guy was. Why would he do such a thing?!

The blue-haired man dropped to one knee, and proceeded to look up at Robin with a pleading look on his face. "This…This is not your fault…Jus remember that. Promise me…That you'll escape from this place. Please… Go!"

He then collapsed onto the floor, and the cackling of a madman filled Robin's ears. The sound grew louder and louder, and as it did so Robin's vision began to get fuzzier and fuzzier.

What was going on? Was that god lying to him? Why did he kill that other person? Why couldn't he control his body? How the hell was he and that other guy just casually creating balls of energy? And why the hell did tall, dark, and scary refer to him as his…Son? What the hell was going on here?

All of these questions and more began to flood his head, just like how the darkness began to flood his vision.

And soon, the darkness overtook all, and he could not see anything anymore…

Robin was getting pretty tired of constantly blacking out and waking up to disturbing scenes. As a result, when he opened his eyes and spotted a clear blue sky above his head, a smile immediately made its way onto his weary face.

A light groan escaped his lips as he slowly sat up and looked around at his surroundings. He was sitting in some sort of clearing in a vast field, and in the distance he could see a forest around him. There was also a little stone path to the side that led…Somewhere. He didn't know.

Robin was currently laying down in a bright green patch of grass and, after taking a deep breath, let out a sigh.

There was no burning smell, so he definitely wasn't in his old world, the one that had tragically been destroyed…And he definitely wasn't in that weird god's world, because the world around him actually looked nice, vibrant, and inviting.

Pushing himself off of the ground, Robin took a few steps forwards…

…Before stumbling and falling down to his knees.

"What the hell?..." he angrily mumbled, trying once again to get up to his feet. Unfortunately, he ended up collapsing to his knees once again. His balance was completely off!

With a sigh, Robin decided to sit his butt down onto the ground and looked down at his body. He was wearing a similar outfit to the one that he was wearing in that vision: A white shirt, a pair of white pants, and that same exact black cloak with the weird purple symbols all over it. He also didn't have those wristbands anymore.

Oddly enough, the cloak was now far more baggier and drooped down onto the floor, as though it was too large for his body. That god did mention that he would be younger now, eleven to be exact. So, did that mean that he would end up keeping this strange cloak in the future, if that strange scene even was a vision of what was to come?

Robin shook his head and proceeded to massage his temple. "I thought this was supposed to be simple, but I have even more questions now. I didn't understand any of those visions that I saw…And didn't that creepy god guy mention that I would have some special advantages to help me in my life here? I don't even know anything about those!..."

Before he could even continue his endless barrage of rhetorical questions directed at nobody in particular, something incredibly weird made its way into his vision. It was brown, fuzzy, and upon thinking for a bit, he realized…That it was a tail!

A shocked gasp escaped Robin and he quickly proceeded to jump up to his feet. He looked at his back and proceeded to grimace when his concerns proved to be warranted.

That tail…Was sticking right out of a small hole in his pants that was located directly above his butt.

"That'd explain why my balance felt so off…I have a tail for some reason…" Robin grumbled, shaking his head and shakily taking a few steps towards a nearby path. "Is this supposed to be one of my 'advantages'? Because it just feels like that god is making fun of me…Giving me, what, a monkey tail? How insulting…"

Shaking his head, Robin continued to take a few steps every few seconds, before a small smirk eventually made its way onto his face. He had managed to get used to suddenly having a tail, and in all honesty, it was mostly the same as walking without one. He just had to adjust the way he took his steps a bit, which was going to need some getting used to, but that was beside the point.

After learning how to walk in his brand-new body, Robin decided to follow the stone path that lay ahead of him. He had absolutely no idea where it would lead, but walking across it would be better than simply just sitting around in that patch of grass for no reason.

As he followed along the stony path ahead of him, Robin took the time to look around at his surroundings. The place he was in was rather…Tranquil, for the lack of a better word. The wildlife was lush, with the nearby forest being comprised entirely of big, healthy trees. Many birds could be seen soaring through the sky, chirping to each other happily. The sun was hanging high in the sky, suggesting that it was probably early in the morning.

"Well, at the very least I haven't been sent into some sort of apocalyptic hellhole or something," Robin thankfully thought to himself, eliciting a sigh of relief as he put his hands into the pockets of his cloak. He took a deep breath, and followed it up with yet another sigh. The air here was really…Clean.

After a few minutes of aimless walking, Robin eventually came across a settlement. He could see a couple of small buildings in the distance, and a cascade of sounds hit his ears. Chatting, shouting, and, loudest above them, classical fair music.

Robin blinked twice, before dashing ahead to get a better look at what had come into his view.

Smaller buildings that had a 'rustic' charm to them could be seen. They looked like something straight out of a history book or something! The music also got louder as he approached, confirming that it was coming from there. He could also hear the laughs of random people, and now that he was near enough, he also heard what appeared to be merchants yelling at people to come check out their products.

He couldn't tell for sure, however, because a stone wall was currently enveloping the settlement.

"What the hell?..." Robin mumbled to himself, looking from left to right in confusion. What was this massive wall doing surroundings this…Carnival? He wasn't entirely sure.

Robin proceeded to walk across the wall for a few moments, before eventually coming across a gate that actually led into the place. A rather large wooden sign was planted into the ground and, in bold colorful letters, the phrase 'WELCOME TO THE SOUTHTOWN FAIR' was written.

Two guards dressed up in KNIGHT'S ARMOR were stationed in front of the gate next to the sign, and they were diligently standing with their backs straight and their heads held high. They were also holding incredibly long LANCES of all things!

It looked like something straight out a medieval-times movie!

One of the guards noticed Robin skulking about and quickly pointed his lance at the young man.

"You there! Halt!" he quickly yelled out, taking a few steps towards Robin and immediately causing the monkey-tailed boy to freeze up. "What exactly are you doing out here?"

Robin's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, and he quickly raised his hands. "W-Wait just a moment! I'm not a, uh, bad guy or anything! I swear! Please don't hurt me! I don't mean any harm!"

The guard, however, continued his approach and, upon noticing the strange markings on Robin's cloak, proceeded to grow incredibly angry. "Those symbols…Are you some sort of Plegian spy or something, kid?! It wouldn't surprise me, honestly. Those damn cultists would do anything to try and get into Ylisse. Sending a child-spy isn't beneath them at all! I should strike you down where you stand you little-"

However, before he could continue, the other guard rushed up to his fellow co-worker and put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. "Now wait just a moment, man! Look down at his leg! He's got a tail! He might be one of the attractions for the fair that ended up getting away!"

Robin shrunk under the two guards' gaze. What were they planning on doing to him?...

The first guard, the one who had called him a 'Plegian spy', rubbed his chin for a brief moment, before smiling widely. "Ah, one of those anthropomorphs! A thousand apologies, sir! You're a lot…Younger than I was told you would be, but it's good to see you! Your owner's been eagerly looking for you so that she can start her show! Please, follow us. We'll take you to her right now."

This caused Robin to apprehensively take a step back. "Owner?..."

"Wait, both of us?" the other guard inquired, cutting Robin off and tilting his head to the side. "Then who's going to guard the gate?"

"Please, this kid is the first thing we've seen all day apart from some random travelers who came to visit for the fair. The gate will be fine if we leave for a few minutes," the first guard stated matter-of-factly, flashing his co-worker a cocky smile.

The second one remained silent for a few moments, before eventually relenting. "Alright, then. Fair enough. Let's go."

Both of the guards proceeded to walk up to Robin and, despite his pleas to do otherwise, together they proceeded to grab his arms with their free-hands. Robin let out a yelp as he was pulled off the ground and dragged into the town through the gates.

"N-Now wait just a second! Don't I get a say in this?!" Robin worriedly asked, his eyes darting exasperatedly between the two armored men.

"Don't worry, little one. You'll be with the rest of your friends soon enough!" the guard who basically saved his life said with a happy smile, grinning from ear to ear at him.

Robin gulped at this expression, finding it slightly creepy, before letting out a sigh as he accepted his fate and looked down at the ground. "Great! Not even, what, ten minutes and I've already found myself in deep trouble! They think I'm some sort of attraction…Stupid monkey tail…"

As he was dragged through the city, Robin looked around at his surroundings. A fair was definitely going on, and it was a pretty lively one at that. Tents of all sorts of colors were lined up, with many people both young and old visiting them. He also spotted what appeared to be merchants calling out to people and inviting them over to have a look at their goods, which ranged from miniature statues of some woman with long ears to fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce.

However, one thing that Robin noticed was that there was absolutely no sign of any modern technology whatsoever. Instead of cars, he saw wagons being pulled by horses. Instead of any television screens, he saw town criers trying to get people's attention to give them the latest news. It also didn't exactly help that everyone was wearing weird old-fashioned clothing.

"Have I…Really been sent to the past or something?" Robin thought to himself, gulping at the prospect. "I could hardly survive in my old…I could hardly survive in my old life. How am I going to survive in the past?! Video games, comic books, and television are non-existent! What am I going to do in my free time now?!...Wait, am I really thinking about that right now? God I am pathetic…"

As they continued to walk, Robin and the two guards ended up passing by a set of 'fun mirrors'. Robin was only able to get a brief glimpse of his new body since they walked past it before he could get a good, thorough look (It didn't exactly help that they altered his image somewhat).

However, from what he could see, he pretty much looked the exact same as he did in his old world when he was eleven years old, with one single exception: He had white hair.

"Great, just great," Robin thought to himself, shaking his head somberly and hanging his head down low. "I look like an old man now…"

Continuing on with his mental self-pitying, Robin was eventually brought to a young woman with bright red hair that was tied up in a bun. She was sitting on a box and seemed to be in the process of counting some coins out of a small brown pouch. Behind her was a rather large tent that seemed to be housing a circus of sorts.

"Miss Anna! We've managed to recapture that creature that you said had gone missing," one of the guards said as he approached the woman, raising Robin high into the air and snapping the white-haired boy out of his thoughts. "Now you can begin your show, correct?"

The redhead absentmindedly looked up at Robin and after a few seconds of staring proceeded to deeply frown. She quickly put her pouch of golf away, and then pointed angrily at the guard. "Do you take me for a fool or something?! This is a kid! I explicitly told you that the runaway was a monkey!"

"Wh-What? I for sure thought…But we found him outside the walls, and he's got a monkey tail too!" the guard exclaimed, his eyes widening upon realizing that he was wrong. "He can talk as well! Just like the rest of your animals! Ain't that right, little guy?"

All eyes were on Robin, and he gulped before speaking up. "Y-Yeah, I can talk, but…Uh…"

"Ugh, great. I can't believe this! You brought me some random kid," the woman, Anna, exasperatedly stated, breathing through her nostrils as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Her eyes were closed for a few moments, though she proceeded to open one right after that and examined Robin carefully, as though he was a fine piece of art. The boy shrunk under her gaze. "Though, now that I think about it, he does seem rather unique…I've never seen a human with a tail before…"

Her eyes proceeded to widen, and a small smile crossed her lips.

"On second thought, now that I think about it, I think I could get a whole bunch of money if I advertised something like you, kiddo," the redhead said with a thoughtful smirk as she leaned down so that she was at eye-level with Robin. "Heh, talking animals are so last season! A half-boy half-monkey…Now this is the kind of stuff people want to see! I'll take him regardless!"

"Are you sure you're allowed to do that, Miss Anna?" the other guard inquired, cocking an eyebrow at her. "We found him outside the border of the town, not to mention he's wearing Plegian garbs. He could be a spy if he's not one of your animals. We need to interrogate him as soon as-"

Robin grit his teeth as soon as he heard these words, and promptly proceeded to speak up. "L-Listen to me! I'm not a…Plegian spy, whatever that is! I just happened to be wearing this thing when I arrived here!"

"Is that so?" one of the guards inquired, narrowing his eyes at Robin. "And where exactly did you come from, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Well, that's easy! I came from-" Robin started, before pausing and pursing his lips together. "Wait, I can't tell them that I died and was reborn into this world…I'd sound like a madman…"

"Well, kid? We're waiting," the other guard spoke up, tapping his foot impatiently on the ground.

This was a bad situation. Robin had to get out here somehow…

After a few moments of hesitation, Robin proceeded to yank both of his hands downwards. Much to his surprise, he was able to break free from the clutches of the two guards, easily overpowering them in the process. Anna jumped back, startled by how easily he was able to do that.

"H-Hey!" one of the guards exclaimed in surprise, quickly jumping back and pointing his lance at Robin. "D-Don't make any sudden movements, beast!"

Robin blinked twice, before looking down at his hands in awe. He hadn't tried struggling against their grip before because he didn't really have any confidence that he could break free successfully, but now that he actually tried, he was able to do so with relative ease. And these people weren't just some random joes, they had actual muscles that were only highlighted by the way their armors were designed.

It was no doubt an impressive feat, especially for how young he currently was.

"I should've tried that ages ago…" Robin mumbled to himself, before quickly shaking his head and raising his hands placatingly. "B-But anyways…Listen! I don't mean any trouble! I'm actually new around these parts and I was wondering if you could help me-"

Before he could finish his sentence, however, a massive explosion rung out through the area, causing the group to immediately spin around. Robin was rather frightened, since the sound made him think that another one of those weird white orbs had appeared.

Fortunately, it wasn't that. Unfortunately, it was still pretty bad.

One of the larger tents had actually caught on fire, with men, women, and children all running away from it and screaming for their lives!

What appeared to be laughter could also faintly be heard, which was…Scary, to put it lightly.

"Damn it, someone with ill intentions must have gotten through the gate while we were away!" one of the guards shouted out worriedly, before immediately rushing towards it. "Come on, let's go check it out!"

The other guard nodded, and followed his ally, leaving Robin and Anna alone.

"Yeesh! And here I thought today I'd be making a nice profit by showing these folks my collection. I was totally going to show off to all of my sisters, too…" Anna mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck. She then proceeded to glance at Robin, and smiled at him. "But anyways, kid, my previous offer still stands! You and I could work together, and I could totally make some cash!"

"Yeah, uh, no thanks. I don't want to be used as a tool to make you money," Robin deadpanned in response, before dashing ahead towards the fire, his tail swishing in the air behind him. "I think I'm going to check out whatever that is instead!"

Anna shouted at the kid, trying to get him to stay, but unfortunately for her Robin had no intention of sticking around.

The white-haired boy ran as fast as he could, ignoring the people that were doing the same thing but in the opposite direction. Eventually, he screeched to a halt and was now standing in front of a rather large red tent that was currently up in flames. A large crowd had gathered to look in awe at what was happening, and Robin was forced to push through them to the front so that he could actually get a look at what was going on.

He spotted the two guards, and as it would turn out they were both currently battered and bruised, as well as shaking in their boots. Their quivering lances were pointed at two rather large and bulky individuals, who were most likely the ones responsible for this whole fiasco.

The two giants were shirtless and were wearing black leather pants. Their heads were completely shaved, and they also had identical beards that were touching the floor. Also, they had little red bands around their arms, which kind of resembled a Nazi band, though they didn't actually have a logo on them so Robin couldn't really tell if they actually were or not. Robin really hoped they weren't, because thinking about Nazis in medieval times just made his head hurt…

Of course, he wasn't actually given much time to think about that, considering how the two buff men were holding massive axes made out of steel over their shoulders, and were slowly making their way towards the two guards.

"W-Were you the ones responsible for this?!" one of the guards angrily shouted at the new duo, shaking like a leaf as he did so. "Because if so, we're going to have to take you in and-"

However, before he could even finish his sentence, one of the two strangers simply slapped his lance away and proceeded to jeer down at the armored fool.

"Oh yeah? YOU are going to take us in? What a joke!" the man guffawed in what honestly sounded like a thick Russian accent, before promptly bringing down his giant axe and fixing it straight into the man's skull.

Robin immediately looked away as the poor guy's screams filled his ears, and the crowd around him gave off similar reactions. Some immediately began running away, while others simply took a few hesitant steps back, sticking around to see what would happen.

Watching as his comrade crumpled to his knees and bled to death, the second guard grit his teeth and immediately dashed forwards, his weapon held high. "You…You'll pay for that!"

The burly man simply shook his head, and proceeded to yank his axe out of his victim's skull, allowing the body to fall to the floor. It was coated in fresh blood that dripped down onto the floor, and he promptly proceeded to try and wipe it off using his hands, completely ignoring the incoming threat.

However, before the second guard could even get close, the man's partner stepped forwards and, with one swing of his giant metal axe, sliced the poor dude's head clean off.

It was almost as though his body didn't register it at first, since it kept on charging at the murderer, but soon the headless guard's body proceeded to stop running, and fell down onto the evil man.

Said man simply snorted, and slapped the body away as though it was nothing.

"Hmph. What a joke," the first man stated, wiping off some stray blood that had landed on his bare chest before turning his attention to the group of onlookers, who were all now fleeing for their life. "It seems we won't be finding a worthy opponent in this town either, brother."

"Is that so?" the second one responded, sticking a finger into his ear as he looked on at the town. A small smirk began to form on his face. "Well, at least we can raid the place! Fairs always attract those rich noblewomen that I like, hehehe…"

"Now, now, boys. Don't get TOO excited," a third voice spoke up, causing the two men to turn around.

A new ruffian proceeded to join the fray, exiting the tent that had been set on fire. He wasn't as tall as the other two, and he definitely wasn't as muscular either. However, despite this, it was clear he was the one in charge. It was fairly obvious from the way he carried himself.

Just like the other two ruffians, he was not wearing a shirt, exposing the red war paint present on both his body and his face. He was wearing an assortment of all kinds of different animal furs on his body, suggesting he had experience when it came to hunting animals. Just like the other two men, he had a little red band around his arm, and was carrying a massive axe over his shoulder as well.

"Oh, hey Garrick! Heh, we'll make sure to save some ladies for you, don't worry! Hahaha!" one of the large men guffawed, causing his boss, Garrick, to smirk.

As this was happening, Robin gulped and proceeded to take a few nervous steps back. Everyone around him had already run away, but Robin hadn't. His brain was basically screaming at him to get as far away as possible, but his legs just wouldn't budge. He was way too scared!

This did not go unnoticed by Garrick, who smirked as he spotted Robin quivering like a leaf. That damned smirk on his face only seemed to grow wider as he spotted Robin's tail swinging back and forth behind him.

"Well, well, well! What do we have here? A tailed boy?" Garrick asked with a smirk, dragging his axe along the dirt floor as he began to approach Robin. "I had heard a rumor that one of those Anna ladies had come here to show off some exotic animals or whatever…But I didn't think it was real! Hahaha! We'd make a fortune selling this little guy!"

The other two men snickered, and proceeded to trail behind the man that was obviously their boss.

"D-Damn it! I'd really appreciate it if one of those 'special advantages' activated right about now…" Robin worriedly thought to himself, taking a few steps back. "Listen, guys. I-I think you've got the wrong idea. I…I'm not an animal, okay? I just…Um…"

"Cut the crap, little guy," Garrick smirked as he raised his axe high. "I'm not a fan of harming my merchandise, but I might have to if you don't come along with us quietly…"

Robin said nothing, but proceeded to clench his fists. "D-Dang it! What horrible luck. Ever since I came here, I've been pushed around like…Like nothing…"

"Heh, no reaction? I thought so. No one can possibly stand up to me!" Garrick chuckled, slamming his axe back into the ground and turning to his lackeys. "Anyways, boys? Pick this little brat up. I'm sure we can make a quick buck by selling him. Get to it!"

The two bearded bozos let out affirmative grunts, and promptly proceeded to walk up to Robin, grabbing him by the arms like the guards had done so before. Just like last time, Robin let out a sigh and did nothing to fight back against them. Whether it was because he was afraid of what they'd do to him if he did not comply, or if it was just his usual reclusive personality, he could not say.

"Of course this is what happens to me. Why did I expect this…Life in another world to be anything different then my old one?" Robin somberly thought to himself as he looked down towards the ground, ignoring the laughs of the trio of brigands. "Even back in my old life, everything's sucked for me…My teachers always made me stay behind to clean after class, my classmates essentially ostracized me, my parents basically hated me and sent me to another city just so that they didn't have to associate themselves with me…And then there was that situation with the border guards, which only happened because I didn't stand up for myself. I can never do anything for myself…"

Robin grit his teeth as he thought this.

"And now…These guys are basically going to sell me as though I'm some sort of…Cattle! I…I can't allow that to happen! This worked with the guards…Let's see if it works with these two!"

His eyes suddenly widened, and just like before he proceeded to yank his arms downwards, breaking free from the two burly men's grasp, startling them slightly.

"H-Hey! What the hell are you thinking, boy? Do you WANT to die?!" Garrick angrily barked, pointing his axe at Robin. He was slightly unnerved by how quickly his demeanor had changed.

Robin gulped, and narrowed his eyes at Garrick. He was shaking a lot right now, though he wasn't sure if that was because of the adrenaline rushing through his veins or the fear that he was feeling right now.

"I-I've already died once before. A second time would be nothing," the boy meekly stated, trying his best to act tought but failing, before charging forwards. He pulled his fist back and, once he got close enough, proceeded to throw it forwards as hard as he could.

The tightly clenched fist ended up slamming into Garrick's hairy exposed stomach, knocking the wind out of him and sending him crashing into a nearby wall, cracking the structure ever so slightly.

Robin blinked twice, shocked by what he had just done. He slowly looked down at his fist in awe. "H-Hold up, is this…One of those 'perks'? Did that dude give me super strength or something? I mean, it'd make sense, considering how I was able to break free from the grasp of those buff dudes…"

"Bastard! You'll pay for that!" one of the bearded men yelled, dashing forwards and swinging his axe at Robin's neck with reckless abandon.

The white-haired boy glanced at the axe, and his eyes widened since he didn't have enough time to get out of the way of the attack. He then proceeded to squeeze his eyes shut and braced himself for impact.

Fortunately, nothing bad really happened to him. The axe did end up slamming into his neck and did create a rather shocking scene. However, it did not involve his head being sliced clean off.

Instead, it involved the sound of metal being shattered like glass, which quickly caught Robin's attention. His eyes snapped open, and he watched in complete and utter shock as the axe broke into a million pieces, the pointy shrapnel falling down into the ground.

"Wh-What the hell?..." the attempted attacker asked, slowly taking a few steps back as he looked at the remains of his once mighty weapon, which had now basically been reduced to a stick. He then looked back at Robin in fear. "Wh-What are you?!"

Robin blinked twice, before steeling himself and grabbing the guy by the beard. He took a deep breath, before yanking on it and pulling the burly man towards himself. He then delivered a powerful uppercut to the poor dude's face, knocking out a bunch of his teeth and causing a thin stream of blood to spill out of the orifices on his head.

"A-Are you alright?!" Robin quickly asked, watching as the dude's head collided with the ground, a small pool of blood collecting underneath his face. "I…I didn't mean to…Yeesh…He WAS asking for it, though."

He quickly shook his head and turned it away from the dude who was sprawled on the floor. Unfortunately, this brought the dude's friend into his peripheral vision. He was basically shaking in his boots, a far cry from the tough guy act he had going on just a few seconds prior.

"Y-You're a freak!" he squealed in a hilariously high-pitched voice, before immediately spinning around and running away. "I'm getting out of here!..."

Robin opened his mouth to speak, but chose to shut it at the last minute and simply shook his head.

He managed to win his first fight in this world…Somehow. Hopefully this wouldn't be something that would happen to him too often…

"Stupid…Bastard…" a voice angrily piped up, causing Robin to glance to the side.

Surprisingly enough, the leader of the trio, Garrick, had actually managed to get right back up to his feet.

He did NOT seem too happy.

"Nobody messes with the mighty Garrick…And gets away with it!" the brigand angrily exclaimed, wiping his mouth and cursing as he spotted some blood. "Stupid magical beast…"

Robin gulped at the grim expression Garrick was giving him, and nervously took a step back. "Listen man, I don't really want any trouble, alright? I know I…Um…Might have taken out your friend for good, but that was an accident, okay? You're the ones who started it, anyways!"

Garrick, however, was not having any of it and proceeded to blindly charge forwards, ready to once again try to cut down Robin. The white-haired boy braced himself for the incoming attack, but, before he could even try to and do anything, a brand-new voice spoke up.

"I think not!"

The two turned their heads to the side and, before anyone could say anything, a mighty javelin came flying in from that general direction, piercing straight through Garrick's skull and firmly lodging itself in there. The brigand let out a bloodcurdling scream, before eventually falling down onto the ground and dying.

Robin blinked twice as he looked on at the dying man, before slowly turning his head to the side to once again try and get a look at the new arrival. He was prepared to jump out of the way in case the stranger tried attacking him, but he noticed that he was no longer holding a weapon, causing Robin to relax slightly. He also used the chance to examine the appearance of the new arrival.

He was very tall and seemed to be a young man. Obviously way older than Robin, but pretty young in the grand scheme of things. He was wearing bulky blue armor and, by squinting, Robin noticed that he had a butler's uniform underneath the thing. He had combed spiky brown hair atop his head, and he had an incredibly serious expression on his face.

The man was also sitting on top of a rather large brown horse that was also wearing armor of a similar color to his own.

The white-haired boy stood rigidly, expecting the man to try and do something to him. After all, he did quite literally just kill the dude in front of him without even asking a single question or anything.

However, instead, a person that Robin did not even notice proceeded to hop off the horse. The guy in the armor was so large in comparison to this second person, so Robin honestly couldn't see him before.

However, when he got a good look at him, his face turned as white as his hair.

He was far younger and was actually wearing a different outfit compared to the one he had on when Robin saw him just about an hour ago, but there was no doubt about it. That distinct dark blue color of his hair, and the intricate design of the sword attached to his hip spoke volumes about the identity of this new arrival.

It was the younger version of that guy from Robin's vision from earlier. The guy that Robin, for some reason, ended up killing.

"Chrom?" Robin absentmindedly asked, remembering his name being mentioned by the scary-looking dude. He wasn't even aware that he had spoken before it was too late.

"Oh, so you know me?" the blue-haired guy asked, a smile forming on his face as he put one hand on his hip. He seemed to be a bit taller than Robin, suggesting that he might have been maybe just a year older then him. He then glanced at the rather gruesome surroundings and proceeded to grimace. "Well, I suppose we can save that for later. What exactly happened here? This is horrible…"

Robin's mouth felt dry. Just a few hours ago, he was in his class, expecting things to play out as normal, like they did every day, before abruptly deciding that he was going to turn his life around. He then somehow proceeded to survive the end of the universe directly afterwards, and was then pitied by the gods, being given a chance to live life out in another world.

In the span of one hour in his new body, he had been captured by a pair of guards, almost sold to a money-obsessed woman who apparently kept a collection of talking animals, witnessed the deaths of six people, three of which he was responsible if you counted both things that actually happened along with the weird vision from before, and now a younger version of one of his victims was standing in front of him, awaiting a response to a question that he in all honesty did not even know the answer to.

His 'new life in another world' had been pretty strange so far, and there was no doubt in his mind that things were about to get even weirder.

A/N: And that's a wrap on the first chapter to something that I've been planning for a while. Some dude gets Isekai'd into a world that has aspects of both Dragon Ball and Fire Emblem, but he doesn't know anything about any of the two.

Obviously, this will mainly be a crossover between Awakening and Dragon Ball, but I do intend to include aspects from a bunch of other Fire Emblem games. As to how exactly…That's a spoiler.

Also, this will be a very long story, so I hope you stick around.

Please tell me what you thought, and hopefully I'll see you all in the next chapter.

Next time: Robin meets the Shepherds.
