Poison Ivy

CH 16

Adrian

Adrian had fucked up big time and he knew it. He had woken up on his couch with a wicked hangover and his hands wrapped in bandages. He was having a hard time remembering exactly what happened last night.

"You're lucky you didn't need stitches." He heard his fiancé Sydney call from the kitchen. He looked at the bandages covering his hands wondering what happened to them.

"Can't remember what you did?" She asked him, placing a glass of something that looked like a milkshake down on the coffee table. Adrian grabbed the glass and slowly started to drink it, knowing it was Sydney's own recipe to help with his hangovers. He often wondered how he managed to snag a girl like her. She loved him despite his many flaws.

"You slammed your fist through a glass table last night." He looked at his hand not holding the glass trying hard to remember. He just couldn't, the last thing he remembered is leaving the office in an Uber and going home. He didn't even remember drinking or how he even got liquor. When Sydney agreed to marry him she said she only had one condition. That he quit drinking, with her help he had been six months sober.

"What happened?" He asked Sydney.

"You crashed Dimtiri's date last night with Rose." Still feeling very confused, Sydney sat down next to him. She took the glass out of his hand, put it down and sighed.

"After you left the office you came home and started to drink. I don't know how, but you found out that Dimitri was taking Rose out on a date. You drove over there and demanded to talk to her. Dimtiri texted Ivan, who then texted me to come get you. By the time I got there you had already broken several glasses and plates, they were ready to call the police. I talked them out of that if you paid for the damage and never came back. On our way out the door is when you slammed your hands through a glass table in the vestibule."

"Is Rose ok?"

"I honestly don't know. She left before we did and was pretty upset."

"I messed up big time didn't I?"

All Sydney could do was give him a sympathetic look. Adrian didn't know what made him feel worse. The fact he messed up his sobriety or that he may have messed things up with Rose. He hadn't even had a chance to get to know her. What was he going to say to his father?

"For now let's just get you showered, dressed and to a meeting."

Adrian agreed he needed to get his head back on straight. He had a lot of people he needed to make amends to. Question was who was first.

Sorry this is a short chapter just for a filler. I will be posting new chapters every Monday.
