Chapter 2: "Let's Get Along!"
After what had just happened between Mythra and Corrin the other day, Mythra just decided to go back to bed, trying to forget the whole ordeal with her and Corrin.
Morning
It was early morning in the Smash Mansion. After the warm welcoming of Pyra and Mythra into Smash Ultimate the other day, not only was everybody stoked to fight, almost everybody wanted to try their hand at fighting the Aegis sisters.
In fact, while Pyra and Mythra were talking in the kitchen, two fighters had come up to challenge them.
Roy: Hey ladies, how bout you take me on in a 1v1 battle? I'd love for you two to see my skills firsthand, heh!
Pyra smiled, wanting to accept the fight...but Mythra..
Mythra: Yea, no thanks loser. You got way too big a head if you think you can compete with the Aegis. Go play around with another fighter, you joke.
Roy walked away, pale, defeated, and crying
Pyra: Mythra, that's so rude!
Mythra: Tch, so What?
Pyra: Mythra, what's the point in being invited to Smash if you don't want to fight anybody? It's a waste!
Mythra just huffs and looks away
The second fighter to come up to them was...
Corrin: Hey there girls!
Pyra: Oh, hello Corrin!
Mythra glanced at the dragon princess before scoffing and looking away again, pretending to not acknowledge her
Corrin: What happened over here? I just saw Roy and it looked like he was about to cry like some character in an anime
Pyra just sighs
Pyra: Just Mythra being Mythra
Mythra shoots a nasty glare at Pyra
Mythra: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Pyra: Mythra doesn't want to fight anybody, basically, because she thinks everyone here is weak
Mythra: Hmph, I'm the Aegis after all, I need an actual strong opponent.
Corrin then smiles
Corrin: I know! How about you take me on?
Mythra: ...you...?
silence
Mythra: Pfft! HAHAHAHAHA!!
Corrin just stared at her, confused
Corrin: What? Why are you laughing?
Mythra: Like I would ever battle you, it would be way too easy for a shrimp like you.
Pyra: Mythra! Quit it!
Corrin: HEY! I'M STRONG TOO! AND YOU AREN'T EVEN THAT MUCH TALLER THAN ME
Mythra just shooes her away
Mythra: Yea yea, you come up to my shoulders, I'll give you that, but you wouldn't even be a meal for me. Go on, get lost
Pyra: Mythra, you are so rude today!
Mythra: Oh quiet
Corrin sighs and turns around
Corrin: Fine, I'll leave
Mythra: Hmph, good
As Corrin walked away, she said something...triggering...
Corrin: Can't believe that the Aegis is such a coward that she won't even fight anybody~
...
Pyra glanced nervously toward Mythra who had a dark look in her eyes
Mythra: What. Was. That?
Pyra: C-Corrin, what are you-
Corrin then turned around and stuck her tongue out
Corrin: Aww, did I ser you off, Ms. Aegis? You're sure a lot of bark and no bite
Mythra then stomped over with gritted teeth and a seriously peeved off attitude, getting all up in Corrin's face
Mythra: Don't get a big head, you nimrod. Fine, I'll fight you just to prove my point
Corrin: Oh wow, I'm so honored~ Guess you're not such a chicken after all
Mythra huffed and turned around to walk to the training room to prepare yourself
Mythra: 1 Stock, no items except the Smash Ball, Final Destination. Better prove your worth, you shrimp.
Corrin: Sounds like a plan!
Mythra narrowed her eyes and walked away. Pyra then walked up to Corrin
Pyra: Corrin, are you so sure about this?
Corrin: Tell me, is this her first ever battle in Smash?
Pyra: W-well, yea...
Corrin: Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. You just watch in the stands. I'll knock her down a peg
Pyra is reluctant but than smiles as she trusts Corrin. Just then, a blue blur speeds by them a bit and stops right next to Corrin
Sonic: Hey ladies!
Pikachu: Pika!
Pikachu was also with Sonic, riding on top of his head
Corrin: Oh, hey Sonic!
Pyra: O-oh, hello Mr. Sonic. And Pikachu too
Sonic: Ahh, drop the mister, no need for formalities, we're all friends here! It's nice to meet you, Pyra.
Pikachu: Pika Pi!
Pyra: A-Ah, I got it. Thank you, it's very nice to meet you guys too.
Pyra squealed on the inside, happy that Sonic and Pikachu knew who she was already despite only being here for 2 days
Sonic then looked around
Sonic: Say, uh, didn't you also come here with a blondie that looked like she wanted to kill anything that was in front of her
Pyra sighed
Corrin: Oh, you mean Mythra? Oh, well, she challenged me to a battle soooo...that's happening!
Sonic chuckled
Sonic: I see. Well then, I'll go tell everyone! Should be a fun match to watch considering she's been turning down almost everybody that's been asking her for a battle
Pyra: sigh I hope so. Hey, did you ever ask to battle her, Sonic?
Sonic: wags finger Nope. Haven't talked to her at all. Today's my off day so me and Pikachu were just having fun. But, I think we can take a break to go watch this fun fight, whaddya say, little buddy?
Pikachu nods his head in affirmation
Pikachu: Pi! Pika!
Sonic: Heh, well, I'll go tell everyone, see ya and good luck Corrin!
Sonic and Pikachu zoom off
Corrin: Bye bye Sonic!
Corrin then smirks
Corrin: Alright! It's go time!
Pyra places a hand on Corrin's shoulder
Pyra: Please be careful
Corrin: Of course! No need to worry!
On Final Destination
Corrin and Mythra stood on opposing sides of the stage, stretching and getting ready to battle. The stands in the background were filling up. Everybody in Smash decided to come see this battle. Since it was the first time Mythra had said yes to fighting somebody, it was a very popular battle to watch. Pyra sat in the stands, worrying a bit. She was worried that Mythra would take this fight too seriously and Corrin would end up getting hurt, and she was scared that Corrin would try to egg on Mythra too much to the point where she would...well...end up getting extremely hurt. Her leg was bouncing and she had a worried look on her face
Pyra: thinking Mythra, Corrin, please try not to hurt eachother too badly
?: You okay?
Pyra felt a hand touch her shoulder and she turned around to see Peach and Samus behind her. Peach was smiling at her while Samus had a neutral look on her face
Peach: Hello Pyra.
Samus: Yo
Peach: Mind if we take a seat next to you?
Pyra: Oh yes, of course!
Peach and Samus sit down next to Pyra and look on down at the stage
Samus: So, Mythra finally said yes to fighting somebody, huh? This should be an interesting match
Pyra: I hope so. I just hope Mythra doesn't go too out of control
Peach: Oh, if you're worried about Corrin, don't be. Corrin will handle herself just fine
Samus: Yea, and besides, it's good for a Smash veteran to put a big headed newbie in their place, heh.
Peach sighed
Peach: You sure love remembering how you showed Bayonetta that, don't you?
Samus: looking smug and proud Loved every second of it
Peach sighed while Pyra giggled
Pyra: Maybe. I hope you're right
Samus: Really, besides, we're supposed to technically hurt eachother. This is a fighting tournament.
Pyra: Yea, I know. But, still...
Peach: Oooo! Here we go!
As the battle was about to commence, Pyra heard many of the others comment on this battle
Pit: I think Corrin would win, she seems like she could take advantage of Mythra's hot temper
Luigi: Y-yea...b-but Mythra is terrifying! She would p-probably use brute force to win!
Palutena: While that is true, Corrin is pretty agile herself and she does have her other form which she could most likely catch her opponent off guard with
Pit: Wow Lady Palutena, you're so right!
In another section
Wolf: Hmm, Corrin will probably win. It would be an embarassment if a veteran lost to a newbie
Wario: Now hang on there, Mythra is so fine. I think she'll win
Wolf: What the hell does that have to do with-
In a bottom row
Chrom: Mythra might just take this one
Lucina: Father! Cheer Corrin on, she can definitely win this!
Robin: Guess we'll see now, the battle's about to begin
Back to Corrin and Mythra
Corrin finishes stretching and looks at Mythra who was staring back at her
Mythra: Ready to lose, pig?
Corrin: I TOLD YOU TO STOP CALLING ME THAT!!
Corrin poured and started stomping her feet
Mythra: Tsk. What a little brat
The battle will now begin
3!
Mythra: Hope you can keep me entertained long enough
2!
Corrin: Oh trust me, you'll be entertained all right.
1!
...
GO!!!
Mythra charges at Corrin who, to her own fault, didn't think she would close the gap that fast
Corrin: Shit! She's fast!
Mythra then swings but luckily Corrin dodges and rolls back. Corrin then charges up a ball of water.
Mythra: The hell is that?
Corrin then launches the water ball at a speed where Mythra could not dodge it
Mythra: CRAP!
Mythra gets hit and becomes paralyzed. She then sees Corrin run up to her and knock her back with her spears
Corrin: Heh! Take that!
Mythra then gets back up, pissed
Mythra: Seriously, water balls and spears coming out of her damn body? What the hell is next?! This is seriously pissing me off!
Mythra then charges again, but this time, move evens faster
Mythra: PHOTON EDGE!
Mythra then slices at Corrin at light speed. Corrin couldn't dodge and had to take it. She then gets knocked back and tries to get up. As she gets up, however, Mythra grabs her and whispers in her ear.
Mythra: I'm about to show you how much of a mistake it was to challenge me.
Corrin tried to break free but Mythra threw her backwards with a kick, sending her flying a bit. She then falls flat on her face
Corrin: Owwww...
Corrin then gets up
Corrin: Okay! That's it! I'm not losing this time! It would be a real disappointment if a veteran like me got taken out by a newbie like you!
A tick mark appeared on Mythra's head
Mythra: You...I'll show you who's a newbie!!
Both of them clashed with each other. Each of them took hits from the other whether it was special attacks, grabs, or smash attacks. The main similarity is that neither one of them were able to send each other off into the blast zone. After a few seconds of clashing swords, both stop and take a break for a second
Mythra: grunts this is really starting to piss me off. Just go down already!
Corrin then smirks and chuckles
Corrin: Does that mean you admit that I'm not a total weakling after all??
Mythra realizes that Corrin had actually been putting up a good fight against her and she blushes a bit out of embarrassment after having her words eaten
Mythra: Sh-Shut the hell up! You haven't won yet!
Corrin: We'll see about that!
Mythra charges toward her again but then she starts charging her Lightning Buster. Corrin sees this and holds her shield down
Mythra: LIGHTNING BUSTER!
Mythra swung her sword with blinding speed and overwhelming power, however, it wasn't enough to break Corrin's shield. As she finished her attack, she was wide open for an attack. Mythra realized this but she couldn't do anything and she saw Corrin about to do her Up Smash
Mythra: D-Dammit!
Corrin: Hehe, looks like I WIN!
Corrin's Up Smash connects and Mythra is sent flying off into the blast zone.
GAME!!
Pyra looked utterly shocked at the outcome of this battle. Peach was very entertained while Samus still had a neutral look on her face
Pyra: Woah! Corrin really won!
Samus: Yeaaa, I had a feeling she would win
Peach: Yes, but, you have to admit, that was an extremely close match!
Everybody else in the crowd was murmuring at the fact Corrin had showed Mythra up. Many people were surprised that Mythra had lost despite all the trash she talked and others were proud that Corrin had retained her title as a Smash Veteran
After the fight..
SLAM!
Mythra and Pyra were sitting at a table outside after Mythra's battle. Mythra had just slammed her fist down on the table out of anger
Pyra: Mythra! Control yourself! It's only one battle!
Mythra: She made a complete fool out of me! That bitch!
Pyra: Mythra, you were the one who got provoked into fighting her. Don't blame anybody but yourself. You shouldn't have been such a mean person in the first place
Mythra shoots Pyra a dark glare
Mythra: Screw you, I figured you would have my back on this, but, guess not. Hmph!
Pyra: Mythra...
Pyra was sad as she could tell Mythra was still upset with her. Just then, however, someone they knew all too well had just approached
Corrin: Hey girls! What's going on here?
Mythra then grits her teeth
Mythra: What the hell are you doing here?
Pyra: M-Mythra!
Pyra was afraid Mythra would blow up any second
Corrin: That was a really great fight but I never got to tell you it because you stormed off. Also, sorry for egging you on before, I just wanted to fight you for myself. I didn't mean any of the stuff I said, really. I hope we can fight again in the future! You're really strong!
Corrin holds her hand out with sparkles in her eyes. Mythra could tell she was being serious so she was flustered over everything she was saying. Mythra then reluctantly shakes her hand
Mythra: H-Hmph...that's right, I am strong. Don't forget that, we'll just say you got lucky for today. Next time, I'll kick your ass!
Corrin: Hehe, sureeee
Pyra watched as the two bickered with eachother and she smiled. She truly believed that Corrin would be able to help her subdue her negative emotions
Corrin then looked up at Mythra
Corrin: So, uh, can I ask you something?
Mythra: hah?
Corrin: Well, since it was your first battle today, me and you have the day off tomorrow...do you..maybe want to hang out with me? I want to get to know you better, Mythra!
Pyra and Mythra looked genuinely surprised at the invitation that Mythra had just received. Mythra than just crossed her arms and huffed with a little blush
Mythra: Hmph! I'll only go with you because I'll be bored from doing nothing tomorrow. Don't think I'll actually enjoy it because you're there.
Corrin just snickered
Corrin: Great! Then it's a date! Meet me by the front doors of the mansion by 12 pm. K, see ya. I gotta find Peach!
Corrin runs off
Pyra then smiles and turns to Mythra
Pyra: That was very nice of her to ask you to hang out with her, right Mythra?
Pyra asked but no response was given
Pyra: Mythra..?
Pyra moved to get a better look only to see how red Mythra was. She was muttering something while shaking a bit
Mythra: mumbles d-date? A d-d-date? I-I thought we were just hanging out? D-date? I-I don't-, I don't think I'm ready, what? W-who said I liked her anyway? What the hell is wrong with me?
Pyra just smiled.
Pyra: I can tell things will only go up from here.
A/N: Hello people reading! I'm not the best at writing fight scenes, drawing them is a lot easier, obviously, however, I do believe that I did a fairly decent job at recreating a Smash Battle through text alone. Next chapter will solely be focused on Mythra and Corrin's hangout. It won't just be all Corrin and Mythra, there will also be other side character interactions as shown in this chapter. Anyway, that's all I have. See you for chapter 3!
