By Wednesday, everyone had gone home from school.
As the day turned into evening, the Imaginaries and I waited outside the back of Foster City School, where Squidward asked me. "Just so we're being straight here, this isn't, one hundred percent, your idea?"
"I'm positive." I replied.
"OK, then." said Squidward.
"Look!" Patrick called, pointing at…
"Ooh, a horse-drawn carriage." Mr. Krabs marveled, taking another sniff. "Whoever's in there must be very wealthy."
"Krabs?" Silver said with a frown, which we also have on our faces.
"I'm just sayin', all right? Yeesh!" Mr. Krabs said just as Reggie stopped the carriage in front of us.
"Are you sure this is the right place, Your Highness?" he asked while looking at Foster City School.
"Well, if this was where Nathan went to school," Daniel replied as he got off the carriage. "Then, it has to be it."
"You're...the Royal Highness?" Mr. Krabs asked while staring at Daniel. "I thought that was the title meant for Odette."
"It will be...soon." Daniel said as he helped Odette out.
SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Silver and I gazed at the pink dress she was wearing while Mr. Krabs let out a whistle.
"Now, that's 'Royal Highness' written all over it." he said.
"Yeah." I agreed. "So...enchanting."
"Thank you." said Odette, who looked up at Foster City School. "So, this is the school we've heard so much about."
"Yep, my home away from home." I said, looking up as well. "Or at least, it was."
Odette gave me a comforting pat on the back.
"Come on, we'll show you around." I said as we led Odette and Daniel inside Foster City School.
"If you look on your left," Patrick said as if he was a tour guide. "You'll see the Imagination Lodge, which began construction soon after Christmas break, finally reaching completion before the start of the new school year."
"Wow, you sure have been busy during that time." said Odette.
"This was where I went to kindergarten, so did Mowgli and Charlie Brown." I said, showing Odette and Daniel inside Room 2, where Mrs. Saunders taught her class.
"And over there..." I went on, pointing at the patio. "...is where we'd have our snack time during recess."
"Is that also where you have lunch?" asked Daniel.
"Not exactly." I replied as we went through the patio. "Sometimes, we would eat there outside Rooms 19 and 20, that was where I went to 3rd and 4th Grade, or over there, not too far from where I went to 1st Grade.
"That was where Mrs. Hauser used to teach us." I explained as the Imaginaries and I led Odette and Daniel through the old classroom.
"So welcoming." Odette said as she looked around.
"Yeah, it was…until the Alphas moved in and made it into their headquarters." I said. "Thankfully, after we beat them at their own game of moonball, everything they took was cleaned out to make the place look good as it was before."
"Of course, if you think this is good," said SpongeBob. "You should look inside Mr. Beckwith's room."
Once we got to Room 29, I felt a little hesitant to open the door.
"What if somebody else is already here...waiting to stop us?" I asked.
Daniel looked around, then asked back. "Do you see anyone else around here besides us?"
Odette walked over to me, saying. "It's OK, Nathan. We can both open the door together."
Once she placed her hands on top of mine, we opened the door to Mr. Beckwith's room.
As I cautiously entered, a slew of memories inside his class came back to me.
"This takes you back, doesn't it?" Daniel assumed while watching me breath it in.
I turned to him, nodding my head before Patrick called out. "Hey, look, Nathan! He still has those books you used to read!"
In his hands were the junior novelizations of "The Wizard of Oz," Disney's "The Prince and the Pauper," starring Mickey Mouse, and "Great Illustrated Classics: The Three Musketeers," which I have read numerous times while in Mr. Beckwith's class.
I walked over to where Patrick was, looking at the books, which I took from his hands, then around the room.
"It was a good time, wasn't it?" asked Odette, who had came over to me. "You and your friends here, inside this room?"
"It wasn't good." I replied while drying away my tears. "It was...the absolute best."
Just as Odette comforted me again, Patrick asked. "Uh, any chance we can move this tour to the Imagination Lodge? My tummy's rumbling again."
"Your tummy's always rumbling." Squidward reminded him as they walked out of Room 29, which I looked inside one more time before catching up with my friends.
"So, Captain, how's Nathan been doing since day one?" Dr. Doppler asked when he came to visit Amelia, who replied. "Surprisingly, Doctor, he's been improving these past few days inside Bowditch, feeling content as he was back in Foster City School."
"Well, that's good to hear." said Dr. Doppler. "After all, I did say it was going to be a big..."
As he spoke, the phone started to ring.
Amelia picked it up, answering. "Hello?"
"Is this Amelia Smollett, one of Foster City School's hall monitors?" asked a voice.
"Yes, this is she." replied Amelia.
"Well, there's trouble going on over there." said the voice.
"What? When?" asked Amelia.
"Happening right now, as we speak."
"We're on our way there now." Amelia said, hanging up the phone.
"What's going on?" asked Dr. Doppler.
"There's trouble inside Foster City School." Amelia said. "Mr Arrow, start the car!"
As he watched her hurrying to the door, Dr. Doppler said to himself. "Ooh, not good."
