Chapter 31

Experiments!

Since we were running to the Cullens' house - and thus faster than any car I knew - we arrived at the Cullens' house after only an hour.

Everyone was already sitting in the living room to welcome us.

I was really overwhelmed by how blind I had been as a human being.

After greeting everyone, we joined them on the sofa. Edward, of course, immediately pulled me onto his lap.

"So, what's her gift now, Carlisle? Tell me, I'm so curious! ... Are you sure?" Edward addressed him again before Carlisle could even say anything.

"Now let me explain it to everyone. I think that Bella has two gifts. But I'm not really sure. First, of course, there's the strong will, we've already noticed that with Aro. If Bella wants something, it will happen," he spoke calmly, while the others listened to him spellbound. "Bella, would you do me a favor?", he now addressed me directly.

"What's it about?"

"Would you please think about the fact that Edward can't read all of our minds anymore? It's best to think back to a time when it bothered you that he could read your mind. I think a little anger will help you use the gift at first!"

I nodded and began to search through my memories.

I was stuck on the memory of Edward almost ditching me in the pool house because he was firmly convinced that I loved Jo.

I gave Edward a dirty look, and he looked at me guiltily.

'Good thing,' I thought, 'I hope you can't read all of our minds, so this kind of thing doesn't happen again.'

I noticed Jasper helping me focus, but I was only paying attention to Edward.

After about thirty seconds, his gaze darted searchingly around the room and finally stuck on me.

"I don't hear anything anymore ..." he said, amazed. "Wow ... my angel, that's really pleasant. I wouldn't mind if you did that more often."

And there it slipped away again - he had praised me too early. I noticed how my concentration was again directed at all sorts of things, no longer fixated only on this thought.

"Oh ... Now I can hear you again!" he said.

"That's what I thought!" drew Carlisle's attention again. "Bella's gift is very powerful, and it's probably just one after all, not as I initially suspected. Human blood doesn't smell good to her because she didn't want to kill people in the first place. That's her free will. I don't think there's any danger if you want to see Charlie!"

He addressed the last sentence to me.

I beamed at everyone.

Wow ... I had a powerful gift.

"We still have a lot of training to do before you get it right, Bella," Jasper addressed me. "I'll be happy to help you if you need help!"

I nodded my thanks to him.

'How about a little togetherness, Edward?' I thought and saw him start to grin like a Cheshire cat.

"But of course, my angel. How could I refuse you anything."

One of his arms moved to the back of my knee, the other stayed on my back and Edward carried me to his room at vampire speed.

I noticed that everyone was laughing - except Jasper.

I felt sorry for him.

However, I was distracted when I felt my clothes being ripped off my body.

I looked at Edward in shock.

"I'm sorry, but I can't wait anymore," this one just grinned and started kissing me passionately and demanding.
