" Yes, a gate has appeared "
Hearing Izuku's words, people's faces immediately stiffened. They never expected to hear those words at a time like this. The worried headmaster then approached Izuku who was still silent where they were.
" Vice guild master, what do you mean? "
" As I said, there's a gate appearing nearby, at least not long ago. "
" Then shall we contact the association to report it? "
" It's alright, I'll do it, then please take the students to a safe place, from here on we Hunters will take care of it. "
" Alright, we leave it to you. "
" Thank you, headmaster "
After their conversation was over, the group then dispersed leaving the Hunters to carry out their duties. Seeing the students and teachers walking away, Izuku then contacted the Hunter Association to report the appearance of the gate at UA High School and also said that the Dawn Guild would take care of it. Although the association wanted to protest this, but since the other party was the No.1 guild and had connections with one of the association's higher-ups, they kept their mouths shut.
After Izuku hung up the phone, he looked at his colleagues. They have been waiting for Izuku to finish.
" Finished? "
" yes, so did you find it?"
" Don't underestimate me "
" Alright guys, shall we go then "
Izuku once again summoned Kaisel, his shadow widened and Kaisel immediately flew out of his shadow. Izuku and his friends immediately jumped on his back and they headed to the location where the gate appeared.
It didn't take long for them to finally arrive at the gate location, but it seemed that they were not the first people to arrive.
As soon as they landed near the gate, there was already someone who looked like a teacher there with several of his students. They immediately became alert after seeing a giant black object heading towards them, plus several suspicious people who suddenly appeared after the object disappeared.
" Who are you? "
The teacher looked at them warily while growling at them. Izuku understood his concern for them, he then showed him the ID he received from the headmaster and explained his identity to him.
" Sorry for the surprise, I am the vice guild master of the Dawn Guild, Izuku, S-rank Hunter, and these people are my colleagues. "
" So you are the Hunters that the principal invited, are you here to take care of this gate? "
"That's how it is, but you are..."
" I'm Hound Dog, one of the staff here. "
" Nice to meet you Hound Dog-san, could you please take the students to a safe place, we will take care of it from here. We also received permission from the headmaster so don't worry. "
" I understand, but unfortunately I can't do that "
" why? "
" That-"
Before Hound Dog could answer, the students behind them barged in Izuku's direction.
" Excuse me, are you a Hunter? "
" Ah, yes "
" Please save our friend, he's... he's trapped in there "
Hearing this, the faces of the Hunters once again froze. A thought suddenly appeared in his mind, a scenario he didn't want to imagine. Izuku immediately looked at the students who were still confused.
" Can you explain what happened? "
" ah! Yes, while we were playing near the school forest, suddenly a portal appeared out of nowhere and pulled one of our friends inside. We tried to go in to save him but we couldn't, as if there was an invisible wall pushing us out. And it wasn't long before Hound Dog-sensei came because he heard the commotion, and after that, you got here. "
Izuku was silent for a moment listening to the students' explanations. No one else here but them the Hunters better understood what it meant to be trapped inside a dungeon. A life-and-death situation where you have to survive alone without weapons or preparation.
Once someone is trapped in the dungeon, it means that there will be no way out for him unless he kills his boss or someone comes to rescue him. A test where you risk your life for an outcome that can determine your life.
The Hunters were silent for a moment. Those gathered here had no experience rescuing people who had experienced trials in the dungeon. However, based on experience, and what they heard from their seniors, they could only enter when the dungeon boss had been killed.
Thinking of this, Izuku walked up to the gate and touched its surface. He could feel the transparent wall blocking him from entering. Unlike the red gate, the gate in front of him kept emitting magic energy making it easy for them to rank the gate.
Although it was easy for them to clear a low-rank gate like the one in front of them, the same was not true for the person who was trapped inside. All they can do now is wait and pray that the students trapped inside can get out safely.
But they are just words for those who are desperate. Izuku once again looked towards the gate, he focused his senses trying to find a gap in the invisible wall in front of him. Seeing no change, Izuku then poured his mana into the gate in front of him, he tried to destroy the invisible wall with his mana.
His colleagues behind him realized what Izuku was trying to do. They decided to keep quiet while keeping their distance so as not to disturb him.
Izuku increased his focus, he tried to capture even the smallest change in the gate. His mana continued to flow into the gate, and although it took a while, his eyes saw a faint crack appearing on the transparent wall.
Seeing this he increased his mana intensity, and as the crack grew wider, Izuku directly raised his fist and shattered the barrier.
A sound like broken glass sounded accompanied by the shocked expressions of Izuku's colleagues. They didn't expect Izuku to be able to break through the barrier, even though it consumed more than half of his mana.
" leader, how did you... " (Shimizu)
Izuku's breathing became unstable, sweat oozed from his forehead, and he didn't even pay attention to Shimizu's question.
" leader, are you okay? " (Tanaka)
" Y-yes, I'm fine, maybe a little tired "
How could he not, Izuku has spent a lot of his mana in just one day. It's awesome to see him still standing in this state, if he was a normal Hunter he should have fallen long ago.
" hey Izuku, how did you break that barrier? " (Toya)
" well... I just channeled my mana into the barrier trying to disrupt its mana flow and destroy it, I was also surprised that the theory I made a long time ago would work like this. Well, although the amount of mana required exceeds my expectations "
" is that so, even if we say it to the association the same thing will never happen again unless one has a mana capacity like yours "
" I think so too "
Izuku then took the recovery potion from his inventory and drank it all at once. After emptying the bottle, he stood up again.
" Alright, I'll go in "
" What? Are you serious? Don't you push yourself too much? "
" It doesn't matter, after all, the safety of the students inside is more important, right? "
" Well, it's up to you, there's no point stopping you either. Just go, we will secure this area "
" Sure, I'll be back soon "
After saying that, Izuku immediately disappeared into the gate, looking for the students trapped in the gate.
Not long after Izuku entered the gate, the headmaster and several teachers came to the gate location to check the situation at Hound Dog's call. The students who were with them previously had also been taken to a safe place.
Seeing the Hunters who were just standing in front of the gate, the principal approached them. He had received previous reports regarding the situation at the location and about students trapped in the gate.
" Hunter-san, what is the current situation? And where is the vice guild master? Has he entered the gate? "
Toya, who saw the principal approaching them, responded to his question as a representative of his side.
" Yeah, he just got in, but considering the time we spent breaking down the barrier, we can only hope Izuku finds the student before something bad happens to him. "
" Sorry, what do you mean by breaking through the barrier? Shouldn't Hunters be able to enter the gate at will? "
" That's true, but in some cases, we can't just go in "
" What does it mean? "
" Simply like how ordinary people can't enter the gate, but that's only for cases like the red gate or the rial gate like this one " (Shimizu)
" What do you mean by that?"
"That means the student trapped inside will be awakened if he survives this dungeon."
Back in the dungeon, Izuku was running down the cave halls while looking for any signs that humans might have. On his way, he also paid attention to the surrounding area and saw traces of battles and corpses of monsters that he occasionally encountered.
Izuku stopped for a moment and checked the corpse of the goblin he encountered. Judging from the cuts on his body it could be seen that this was an amateur act, also with the goblin's corpse being still warm it was clear that he had not been killed long ago.
Izuku then got up and quickened his steps towards the boss room where he could feel the huge mana from the boss monster and another flow of mana that felt familiar.
Even though the fatigue accumulated in his body, Izuku's steps did not slow down at all, thanks to him he was able to get to the boss's room quickly.
From a distance, Izuku could see someone who looked the same age as him being surrounded by several Goblins and dungeon bosses who were looking at him with hatred.
Izuku immediately recognized the person as the student he was looking for seeing the uniform he was wearing, but instead of speeding up his steps, Izuku slowed down. For some reason, he felt the situation the student was in was a little strange.
The monsters that he thought were surrounding the student did not point their weapons at him and instead pointed them at the dungeon boss who was supposed to be their leader. He also noticed a dagger stuck in his eye as well as traces of wounds on the dungeon boss's body that were similar to the cut marks from the knives of the goblins surrounding the student.
Izuku decided to stop for a moment while observing the development of the situation in front of him before deciding on his next action.
Meanwhile, while the student didn't know someone was watching him, the purple-haired student focused all his attention on the opponent in front of him. Ever since he was dragged into a strange portal that appeared out of nowhere, strange things kept happening to him.
Starting from the green monster that suddenly attacked him as soon as he arrived here, the sudden increase in his quirk abilities, to the situation where he led a group of green monsters under his brainwashing against a green monster that was bigger than the others.
Despite the confusion and mixed emotions he felt, he managed to survive up to this point by killing many green monsters, and finally, all that was left was the huge monster in front of him.
The boss monster that found himself being attacked by his subordinates couldn't accept this and anger began to well up within the creature. He growled and glared at the person who caused all this with bloody eyes.
He then charged forward to attack the person blindly, ignoring his subordinates who had betrayed him. The giant club he was carrying smashed the heads of the goblins that were trying to prevent him from reaching the student.
Seeing the enemy charging towards him, the student took a step back since he lost his weapon after stabbing it on the big monster's head. He also ordered the goblins under his control to protect him.
The sight of a monster covered in disgusting green blood chasing you crazily is enough to make a person run in fear. The same thing happened to the student, but he did not run away even though he was afraid. He tried to remain calm while paying attention to the situation, but with the boss monster madly targeting him, he couldn't think at all since he could only focus on dodging.
And just when he thought the end was near, a monster's body fell right in front of him. Seeing this the student froze for a moment in surprise and immediately widened his distance from the monster.
But even though he continued to move away, the monster remained still even when he poked it with a stick that he picked up out of nowhere, green blood also began to pool under the monster's body which was starting to lose warmth.
" This creature, is he dead? "
" Don't worry, he's already dead."
Startled by the voice that answered him, the student immediately turned around and saw a black-haired young man who looked to be around his age appear behind him.
He became alert again, thinking that the person who appeared behind him might be a monster. He immediately activated his abilities again and tried to talk to him.
" Who are you? "
Izuku noticed a strange flow of mana from the student in front of him that was trying to invade his consciousness, but since Izuku had resistance to things like curses, it didn't work on him.
" Injecting your mana flow into your opponent to control them, is this your ability? "
The student was surprised that his quirk did not work on the opponent in front of him even after the opponent responded to his words. Panic was visible in his eyes which were shaking strongly.
The student instinctively realized that the opponent in front of him was very strong. Ever since he arrived at this place he could feel the strange energy of the monsters he had encountered. But the person in front of him was on another level, he could feel the immense energy he was emitting that was able to make his body tremble.
" who-who are you? "
" Sorry, I'm late introducing myself, my name is Izuku, Hunter from the Dawn guild "
Izuku spoke while pointing at the guild crest that was on his robe. The student also seemed to recognize the symbol and lowered his guard slightly.
" What is Hunter doing here? What is this place anyway? "
" I'm sure you must have lots of questions, but for now this place is a dungeon and I'm here to save you. "
" dungeon? why did I- "
" I'll explain later, it would be better if we go out first, I'll explain everything outside. "
The student looked doubtful, but if what the young man in front of him said was true, then he was indeed safe. But even so, there was one thing that made him curious.
" Okay, but before that, this creature, did you kill it? "
" No, it wasn't me, it was purely because of your efforts. "
" Really? "
Seeing this, Izuku smiled briefly, he pointed at the danger that was stuck in the dungeon boss's head and then explained.
" This knife, you're the one who stuck it in, right? You also controlled the goblins to attack their boss, with so many wounds and his final rampage, it wouldn't be strange to see him die from blood loss. "
The student was silent for a moment after hearing Izuku's accurate explanation. Even though it hadn't been long since they met, the young man in front of him could analyze exactly how he defeated the monster.
" How do you know? "
" Ah! Sorry about that, I actually watched your fight since you didn't look like you needed help. "
The student looked at Izuku as if he wanted to protest, but thought better of it because he was quite tired himself.
" If I may, can you tell me your name? "
" Shinso, Shinso Hitoshi "
" I see, well, Shinso-kun, congratulations on becoming awakened. "
