Halo, it's the first real episode. Enjoy the reading.
Beacon was the greatest and most popular Huntsmen Academy where the next generation of Huntsmen and Huntresses were trained for being the next protector of Remnant.
Today was the opening of the academic year and hundreds of Huntsman and Huntress candidates arrived so learn and train everything about how to be Huntsmen and Huntresses.
The transporters delivered the students in the sky. Of course, the air transporters were big enough the students could talk to each other, walk and get up.
Besides there was a holographic projector that show them the daily news.
- … the local criminal, Roman Torchwick who's still avoiding the authorities. – Roman was an elegant, short, red haired man and his facial features didn't show any regret in his police photo. – If you have any information about his whereabout don't hesitate to notify the Vale Police. It's up to you, Lisa.
- Thank you, Cyril. – A white haired woman was talking. – Our next new, last Saturday the Faunus Civil Rights Protesting turned into a very sinister development when the members of the White Fang disturbed the event. The once peaceful organization now… - The projector turned out the news and a short, elegant but strict, glasses woman appeared in a holographic was in front of the students.
- Hello and welcome you in Beacon.
- Who's this? – Asked a girl.
- My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You're the few ones to have the honor to become students of this academy. Our world currently lives in peace for a long time and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, your duty will be maintaining this peace. Now you already proved your courage that will be necessary in your next task but it's up to us to give you the knowledge and the training how to protect the world. – She finished and the hologram vanished.
- I hope we'll be worthies for being the next generation of Huntsmen and Huntresses. – A tall guy who wore a pair of black boots, blue farmer jeans and a red T-shirt said. His eyes were blue and his hair was long and messy but he was confident. On his left side a sword hanged, on his back was a backpack and a big luggage was near his leg.
- A lot of students doesn't take it seriously and that's the reason they fall. – Another guy, the perfect opposite of the previous one. He was fat, clumsy, wore a pair of glasses but his short, black hair was combed. He wore a pair of green and white trainer shoes, black velvet pants and a yellow long-sleeved T-shirt. On his back was a giant hiker bag and he had three big traveler trunks.
- If it were so harsh there wouldn't be so much Hunter on the world. My name is Lance. – Lance offered his hand for shake to the fat guy.
- Mike. – He accepted.
- Mike, why did you bring so much stuff? – Lance checked the big fully packed trunks.
- My mom wanted to be sure to have enough clothes, undies, socks, allergy medicine and a lot of things she packed.
- I get it. – Lance checked his own, smaller backpack and luggage. – But we'll be here during the whole year and you can everything in the city.
- My mom doesn't trust in the big cities and kept me always in a bubble. I took me so long to convince her to let me go to Beacon.
Suddenly everybody rushed to windows of the transporter and besides the beautiful view they could see Beacon Academy.
- Look, you can see Signal from here! – One of the girls, she was shorter than the rest of them, she had red and black outfit, a combat skirt, corset, black leggings, black boots and a long, red cloak. She had short, black hair with a little red shade and her eyes were silver colored. – I think our home isn't that far away. – She seemed a little down-hearted.
- Beacon is our new home. – Another girl, a tall one, she wore a pair of brown boots, black shorts, black gloves that left her fingers freely, a yellow top and a brown leather jacket said. She had long blonde hair and lilac eyes, she hugged the shorter girl.
- Oh my god! – A guy, he wore a pair of black and white trainer shoes, blue jeans, black hoodie under a light, white breast and a pair of shoulder plate. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and he had to run to throw up.
- Gross, Yang, he puked your boots! – The shorter girl screamed.
- Gross, gross, gross! – The taller tried to keep the distance.
- Get the hell out! – Lance yelled.
The two girls ran away from the sick guy.
- Oh gosh… - Mike started to gagging. – I can't watch if somebody throw up! – He held his hand to his mouth. – Than I'm gonna… - He couldn't hold back anymore and threw up.
- This… is not a great start. – Lance just rolled his eyes.
Thankfully, the transport landed soon, Mike and the Vomit guy, as the short girl called ran out from the ramp, headed to the first trash can they see and puked it full.
Lance kept going ahead and stopped at the main square. The Academy giant, white towers were so big that anybody could feel himself as a tiny little piece of dust in their shadow. Around the square was a neat and well-kept garden. A clean and straight marble road lead to the Academy. The whole place was miraculous.
- Look, Yang! – The short girl was totally excited as she watched the others' weapon. – That guy has a vortex summoner staff! And that girl has a fire sword! – Before she'd faint, the taller girl, Yang dragged back to the reality.
- Does she like the weapons? – Lance laughed as he asked the obvious question.
- Yeah, totally obsessed. – Yang just shrugged her shoulders.
- My name's Lance. – He introduced.
- Yang.
- And I'm Ruby. – The short girl said. – What kind of weapon you have?! – She was totally excited and curious.
- Well, - He drew his short, one-handed, golden handle and the sun is sparkled on its gray steel. – I have my sword, Golden Sting.
- And what can it do? – Ruby asked.
- I can turn into a lance. – He pushed a button on the handle and the sword totally turned into a longer weapon.
- Like your name?! – Yang laughed on the pun.
- It's cool! – Ruby was awed.
- Yeah, - Lance just rolled his eyes and opened his luggage. – and here it's Scarlet Rook. – He showed the girls a rhombus-shaped red shield with a golden colored pawn crest.
- Yeah. – Ruby concentrated with her full might and Yang nodded in an appreciatively way.
- I can turn into a bigger and stronger shield. – He pushed a button on the shield and it turned into a square rectangle-shaped one, almost as big as himself, three pointy spikes came out from it and the pawn turned into a rook.
- Isn't that a little… heavy? – Ruby scratched her head. She wouldn't be able lift that big shield but she was amused that this guy's able to fight with it with only one hand.
- It is but I worked a lot on physical strength and fast movement. Wanna see it? – He threw the shield to Yang who caught it with two hands but she could attach it to her left arm and when she got used to its weight she could handle it, "She's a strong girl.", thought Lance.
- I like its weight and well balanced.
- That shield is my baby. – He said as Yang gave it back to him. – It saved my butt more time than I'd dare to admit. – Both girls laughed on it. – What about your weapons?
- Oh, - Ruby showed a big and red metallic rectangle but she pushed a button on it and turned into a big scythe that was almost as big as herself. – that my baby, Crescent Rose. A scythe and a high caliber sniper rifle.
- Isn't that a little too big for you? – He could barely believe that this little girl was able to lift and swing that big scythe that was almost as big as herself.
- Heh, a lot of people said the same. – She kept swinging proudly.
- Mine's Ember Celica, - Yang showed her yellow, metallic gauntlets. – it can shoot strong shotgun shells and I can leap away from another place easily with it.
- Remind me not to stand against you. – Lance was amazed by the girls and their weapons when the sick, fat guy came across them.
- What about you? – Ruby talked to Mike. - What kind of weapon you have? – Mike started to sweat and breathing difficulties.
- You… you… you… did… you just talk to… me?! – He totally blushed.
- Well… yes? – Yang and everyone else watched him in an awkward way on the fat guy grabbed an asthma inhaler as his life would depend on it, probably it was. He put it in his mouth, pushed the button and breathed in a relieved way.
- Sorry I'm used to such a great talk. – Lance just rolled his eyes.
- Wasn't you one of the guys who vomited everything? – Ruby giggled as she asked the question.
- Oh my god?! – Mike totally shocked. – You remember me?! – His T-shirt totally soaked by his sweat, his rivers poured from his forehead and a real puddle of sweat formed by his feet.
- I take him to the toilet! – Lance just turned Mike around before he'd get a heart-attack and started to push. After a few seconds Yang ditched Ruby there too.
- Thank you, Lance, - Mike as they went away from the girls he started to calm down. – I didn't speak with girls besides my mom. – As Lance kept pushing him, a sweat track formed behind them, Mike was like a fat slug.
- What the… - Lance shocked by the amount of sweat that came out from Mike. – Did you piss yourself?!
- No, I just sweat a little around girls. – The "little" was the main thing.
- Watch out! – Lance didn't recognize that he pushed Mike to another girl. – You're disgusting! – The girl had long white hair and two pointy dog ears that proved her faunus origin. She wore a pair of black and white trainer shoes, farmer shorts and black tank-top that didn't cover much of her body. She covered her nose and watched Mike in a disgusted way. – What are you sweating so much?! Did you just walk 50m?!
- I…I…I… - Mike couldn't even speak.
- You! You! You! Could you even speak or your mouth is nothing good beside eating?! – The girl as she still covered her nose barked to him.
- Calm down! – Lance intervened. – He just got traumatized!
- By what?! First time in his life left his mom's basement?!
Lance stood between Mike and the angry faunus girl.
- Look he's sorry that I pushed him to you! – He looked back to Mike. – Do you, Mike?!
- Yes! I'm sorry!
- Good. – Lance nodded. – Now, let's start it over. My name's Lance and he's Mike.
- I'm Lynda and tell Sweaty to keep his stink away from me! – Lynda just left the boys there and kept going to the Academy.
- Do you think her dog blood makes her so grumpy or every faunus is like her? – Mike asked after he calmed down.
- That's pretty racist, don't you think?
- I met a faunus first time in my life and she did a terrible job as the first representative of her kind. – Lance admitted that there's no point to argue about this topic but an explosion disturbed their conversation.
It was Ruby as he just inhaled some fire Dust and her sneezing just started a detonation.
- Let's just go to the opening ceremony.
Every student gathered in the Academy's big hall to listen the headmaster, Ozpin's speech.
- I hope we won't meet with a mean girl like this. – Mike was happy by the fact that he can't see Lynda anymore but Lance just recognized something behind him. – I mean she gave evidence of quite bad manners and unpleasant behavior.
- Mike, maybe…
- I get it, it's very unpleasant situation if somebody accidentally crash into you but nothing came out from her but bad manner!
- Listen, you shoud…
- And her pathetic and sarcastic comments suggest that she is terribly childish and immature.
- "Childish and immature"?! – Lance tried to tell him, without any success that Lynda just stood behind him and listened everything he said. – I'm wondering how's it that you're not chasing ice-cream cars! – This time Mike stood up for himself.
- I'd never do that! Beside if you lie down in front of them they have to stop.
- Listen, Sweaty, you don't want to stand in my way and I don't have a half year to bypass you and smell your stink!
- How do I know if I'm in your way?
- By feeling this! – Lynda raised a fist to hit the fat guy but suddenly a microphone turned in and the headmaster just started his speech.
- I keep it in short. - Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy, was a middle-aged, short, white-haired man of average height, wearing a black jacket, green shirt, green scarf, black sunglasses, and a uniquely designed walking stick. The woman who had introduced Beacon to the travelers on the ship, Glynda Goodwitch, was also at his side, but she just stood quietly. - Today, you have come here in search of knowledge, to improve your existing abilities and to acquire new ones. And once you're done, you dedicate your life to protecting people. – He sighed one. - As I look over you and all I see is wasted energy that needs purpose and guidance. You may think that knowledge will free you from this, but during the time you spend at this school, you have realized that only your own knowledge can take you quite far. It will be a long journey, but even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. - With that, he finished his speech and left the room. Glynda stepped to the microphone.
- Tonight, you will sleep in the great hall. Your initiation begins tomorrow. We're done. – They're finished.
- If you still wanna punch me, - Mike still afraid from Lynda. – not the face! That's all I have!
- Calm down, Wide Load, - Lynda released him. – I won't hurt you just makes me very angry if a strong stink hit my nose.
In the evening, the students arranged themselves quite comfortably in the main hall, everyone got a sleeping bag and spent the night together like a big slumber party.
Mike didn't really want to get away from Lance, just in case Lynda showed up again.
- Tell me again why do we have to camp near the restroom? – Lance packed down his own sleeping bag and he just wore a black boxer, revealed his muscled abs and strong upper body.
- In that case if I have to pee. I don't want to walk through and wake up everybody. - Mike was in a yellow one-piece with bunny ears and cotton pajamas.
- Then use an empty bottle.
- And I have to take my medicines.
- Medicines?
- Yes, for my dust and animal hair allergies, insulin injections for my diabetes, my eye drops, my vitamin tablets, the sedative that helps me fall asleep and, - He took out enough medicine for a pharmacy, but he also took out a strange machine. - the machine that helps me stop snoring.
- Did you just bring a whole pharmacy?
- No, I only have a few allergies and some other pills I must take.
- I can see. – Lance tried to fall asleep but Mike spent 30 minutes with his medicines and went to the restroom.
A toilet flushing sound was the proof that someone was in the bathroom and Mike was terrified of who he saw.
- It's lucky I got to the toilet before you, - It was Lynda, but instead of pajamas, she was only wearing her bra and panties. – I'm worry for it since thank to you it'll have difficult days in advance. - Fortunately, she wasn't in such an irritated state now.
- I just came here to pee-pee one. – Mike was still nervous around her but the faunus girl just shrugged her shoulders.
- I give you an advice. – Before she'd leave she stopped. – Only 3 years old kids say "pee-pee".
She just left the restroom, let Mike to do his things and went back to sleep.
