Title: Picard's New Ship

Rating: T

Summary: It was supposed to be only a temporary assignment, to find Tuvok who was a spy among the Maquis and bring him home. For Captain Picard, and part of the crew of the former Enterprise, it turned into a very long journey and forming a little community.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Star Trek characters and I'm making nothing from this.

A/N: Sorry about the really long delay. I had trouble even transferring this story from my jump drive to the hard drive.

Chapter 14: Eye of the Needle (Part 2)

"Twenty years in the past," Beverly said. "I'm finding it hard to imagine myself a strapping twenty something medical student."

"That's what Tuvok told me," Jean-Luc said. "I'm finding it hard to believe that twenty years ago I was on the Stargazer."

"Do you think that he'll deliver the messages."

"I hope so," Jean-Luc said. "I think that Will Riker would be shocked if he found out that I'm going to be a father."

She smiled at him and said, "I think Wesley would be shocked as well."

"You know, I wonder what he's doing right now," Jean-Luc said.

"Why don't you ask him," a voice said and she turned to see her son standing there. "Hay, mom."

"Wesley," she cried out and she ran over and hugged her son. "What are you-?"

"I'm still with the Traveler," he said. "What the heck are you all doing out here?"

"We were brought here by the Caretaker," Jean-Luc told him.

"The Traveler told me about him," Wesley said. "Mom, Captain, this area includes Borg space."

"So we have been here before."

"No, you were only in-between the Alpha and Delta Quadrants," Wesley said. "And before you ask, I don't yet have the power to send you all home. However, when I return I will have that ability."

"That give us hope," Jean-Luc told him.

"Honey, I need to tell you something," she said.

"What is it?"

"Well I'm expecting," Beverly told him. "You're going to be a big brother."

"That's great, mom," he said. "Let me know what you decide to name him, or her, and please nothing embarrassing."

"Don't worry, I won't," Beverly said. "And it's a boy."

"If you said girl, I would feel sorry for the whole ship."

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Oh just something that Nana mentioned," he told her.

"If my Nana was still alive, I would have a talk with her about the stories that she told Wesley."

"So could you introduce me to the crew."

"That would be an honor," Jean-Luc told him.

The very few that knew Wesley was shocked that he was here. When Wesley met Chakotay he said, "You were my instructor at the Academy."

"And I believe that you almost failed one of my simulations."

"You were one of Wesley's teachers," Jean-Luc said.

"Naturally," he said. "Wesley showed great promise, even after what happened at the Academy."

"And what was the simulation?" Beverly asked him.

"The Borg," Chakotay said. "It seems that he thought that you could take a shuttlecraft through a field to rescue a crew member."

"Ah, that would be Will Riker's fault," Jean-Luc said as Beverly started laughing. "He rewrote the book on saving a crew member from the Borg."

"Makes me almost feel bad that I almost failed him," Chakotay said.

"Remind me to ask about that story," Tom said.

Geordi and Data, who was down in Engineering, was shocked to see that Wesley had come to visit. Before he left Wesley said, "I promise I will get all of you back home. See you when I have that ability."

And he was gone.

"It was nice to see him again," Jean-Luc said.

"And it's nice to know that he's going to be fine," Beverly added.

And Voyager continued on its way.

A/N: I decided to have Wesley in this chapter as a means of hope that the crew has that there is someone that will be able to get them home. Wesley's presence will be around one last time, in the form of a letter. He will appear, again, later on in the story.
