Prologue:
It was a rainy day at the Loud residents as most of the kids were lounging around the living room and flipping through the channels. They stumble onto the news channel where Patchy Drizzles had both sleeves rolled up with a serious look on his face. "I wish I could say the rain will pass soon but I'm afraid we will be dealing with this storm for the next week. And, we're getting word that Royal Woods residents should keep an eye out for flash flooding. If you're a worm or a mud lover, this week is your week to go nuts."
One cue, Lana ran through the front door with her face caked in mud and two handfuls of the stuff. "Guys! The mud is perfect for playing in! Who's down for a little mud wrestling!?" she asked as she tracked mud through the living room.
"Ugh, Lana, you know you're not allowed to bring mud inside," Lori yelled but Lana ignored her as she was about to head back outside. As she darted for the door, she slammed into her favorite/only brother dressed in a yellow raincoat with matching boots. They both fell onto the porch as Lana quickly apologized before getting a running start to belly slide across the front lawn of the house.
Lincoln on the other hand got up, dusted himself off before entering the house with a bag in his hand which caught his sister's attention. Soon he was bombarded with questions such as "What's in the bag" to "Is it from Ronnie Ann" to the absurd "Is it the newest perfume from Chanel?" Lincoln managed to swat away the questions before giving an answer. He reached into the bag and pulled out a box with various characters on it fighting a dragon which was spitting fire at the group. "It's a game some of the guys and I play at school; it's called Mages and Mazes. It a roleplaying game where-"
"Lame!" the girls said in unison causing Lincoln to fly back by the combined force of the yell. Once again, he got back to his feet before defending himself using the best thing he can use to persuade his sisters; stroking their egos and interest.
"Fine, I guess you don't want to knock out goblins and ogres with the power of music or crushing their skulls with a big ass ax" he turned around but Lynn and Luna quickly stopped him asking to explain himself. "Well you can be any race and class that allows you to do anything. Start a band, become the strongest, be treated like royalty," Lincoln looked over at Lola know that'll get her hooked in. Before long, the Loud sisters, excluding Lanaan Lily, were sitting around the dining room table writing up characters while Lincoln was planning out a few encounters for a little one-shot for them.
After a bit of time, the girls had their characters ready. Lori went for a dragonborn paladin. She had gone online during the character creation and found a joke that she decided to roll with as her character. Leni was a half-elf cleric due to her caring nature and always ready to help. Though she did get help from Lincoln that made her character equal parts healer and combative. Luna went for a bard gnome as she really vibed with the carefree nature of the gnomes and the artistic powers of a bard. Strangely Luan went for a tabaxi monk as her plan was to give her foes a good punchline before giving them a punch line which caused the table to give a collective groan of annoyance. Lynn, being the super competitive and aggressive person, made a goliath barbarian complete with her big ass ax while Lucy went for a rogue drow as she liked the dark nature of the drow and loved the "blend in with the shadows" that rogue were known for. Lola decided to be a high elf sorcerer as she was fond of the idea of being given a lot of power while being beautiful. Lastly, Lisa went for a vedalken artificer being an inventor and scientist in her normal life so it would be appropriate to be one in game.
After a few hours of playing, roleplaying and having a genuine good time, the group found themselves face to face with a powerful necromancer which would be the final boss of this game. Lori and Lynn charged in to attack only for an army of skeleton soldiers to block their path. They rolled to attack where Lori got a hit, Lynn managed to land a critical taking out a few skeletons. Luna strummed her lute giving her sister inspirations which Lucy used to get a sneak attack on the skeleton sending it back to the grave. Lincoln, deepening his voice said, "Impressive but it's no use against my magic!" The necromancer raised his hand before a dark spear shot out and pinning Lola by her dress to the wall. This however was a mistake as Lola used her inspiration to throw a firebolt directly at the boss dealing a good chunk of damage. Meanwhile, Luan was speeding around the battlefield while making quips as skeletons fell with each strike. Lisa was next, which she decided to send in her robot companion to chomp down on the heads of the enemy army.
Lincoln chimed in once again deepening his voice. "So my army is in tatters. No matter. I have an ace up my sleeve. Go get them my swamp ghoul!" And out of nowhere, Lana appeared covered in mud and grass while letting out a gravelly growl. Despite their collective disgust in Lana appearance Lori was the first first to speak. "Foul beast, do your worst. It'll be no match against the Sisters of Louddraya!" Though the speech was short, the girls rallied with their older sister as the fight resumed. After a long battle, the necromancer was defeated causing the spell on the swamp ghoul to be lifted to reveal a lizard-like girl who thanked the party for breaking the curse she had. Once the formalities was dealt with, the group headed back to Meadows Peak where they were given a hero's welcome for defeating the necromancer.
Lincoln closed his journey as it was now close to dinner which caught the girls off guard. They had been playing this silly game for hours without truly knowing it and they loved every moment of it; even the moment where Luan and Luna performed for the tavern while Leni was tending to the wounds of some failed adventurers who tried to defeat their foe. The dinner table was buzzing as the siblings talked about the game and their favorite moments from it. Their parents smiled and laughed prompting Lynn Sr. to reply, "Hey, maybe tomorrow we can join in. I've been known to roll some dice back in my youth" Rita just nudged her husband before finishing dinner. The family headed to their respective room for the night but Lincoln was in the middle of writing a full on campaign with an overarching story and tons of minor characters. He didn't realize that his sister could love the game just as much as him but they did. Because of that, he was determined to make a story just for them while practicing his writing skills. As he finished the first few parts to his story, he let out a yawn before going to bed for the night. However, the storm outside only grew stronger and heavier as thunder and lightning mixed in with the downpour of rain. A stray bolt passed through Lincoln's window and hit the book causing a strange reaction. From the pen getting up on its own to the words of Lincoln and his sister pouring from the book itself. As the loud siblings slept peacefully, their bodies began to change, their clothes altered and by morning things were to be a lot more chaotic.
