Siberia, Russia
The cold, grey skies beyond the caged windows caste a dark shadow in the dim cottage. Five armed guards stood up in attention against the wall besides the creaky door.
"S-sir," Senator Wolf stuttered, "we're trying to raise 15 million dollars for the Republican party. It would be so kind of you to-."
Edward rolls his jade-green eyes. "Are you really that stupid, Wolf? Look at all the scandal it is embroiled it; embezzlement, fraud, and the list goes on. I don't back losers the likes of yourself."
I stifle a snort. Edward could be brutal.
Senator Wolf's withered old face fumed. You could tell he was biting back a retort. Yet, Edward was a Kingmaker, and it would be foolish to answer back to him. He decides to change his tactic. "B-but-."
Edward's eyes turn to hardened steel.
"Enough," He warns.
Senator Wolf begins to tremble in fear. "I'm sorry, Sir," he stutters. "Sorry to bother you with such a foolish idea. It's just that I thought Senator Swann's daughter marrying the son of ex-Preside-."
I felt the blood drain from my face. No, no, NO!
His head snaps to Wolf's direction. "Who?" His voice is low and dangerous.
"Rosalie Swann," Senator Wolf replies cheerfully, oblivious to the fact that he was chartering into a very dangerous territory. He was just happy that Edward was finally taking interest. "She's marrying Aaron Gates- son of Jack Gates. That should set her up for success in the upcoming elections. Oh-wait here's the card to their engagement."
Edward's entire body stills as he flips out the heavy crème card. Rage flickers through his visage for a very tiny second. Then his face turns to a blank mask.
I watch him pause for a second before he gets up at leisure, stretches his shirtless torso and walks to the bar. He pours himself a shot of his favorite Mcallan Scotch and downs it down his throat in one go.
He takes out a lighter and set the crème card on fire and watches it burn to ashes in front of him.
His head swivels back to Senator Wolf. lol
"Okay, Wolf," he drawls. "You can have my fifteen million dollars."
Suddenly I was terrified for my childhood friend, Rosalie Swan.
