Prologue

Mother Morgana was known to be like the sea.

She was life giving, but she could also take life away.

One shall not trifle with her; one shall embrace her.

Drink from her cup with pure thoughts and you would be healed.

Worship her properly and she would give you sanctuary.

Remember the Olde Ways and be a good Wixen and all would be well. Dismiss the Olde Ways and speak ill towards all her Magical Children and you would wither away, wishing for death but not receive it. She could be your savior, or she could be your killer. All depended on how you treated her, all depended on how you spread Her word towards others, and how you treated them. She was the beginning, the middle, and would be there in the end, ready to send you off to Brother Death.

She cried when one of her children decided to turn towards Black Magic.

A type of magic that only few could use without going insane.

She cried when he created his own cult and spat at the Olde Ways, twisting them and shaping them so they would reflect his image instead of Hers. She seethed when he learnt of the forbidden ritual of Horcruxes, she was ready for his death so she could consult with Brother Death on how to properly take care of him. She knew Brother Death would wish for his moment with the wizard. He would make sure the traitor would wish for the torment to end but it never would.

She observed as one of her blessed Seers spoke of a prophecy, one that would kill the traitor.

An infant who would be born while the seventh month died.

She sat within that old bar, in the corner, and observed them with rapt attention. She thought of the ancestor of the Seerer, Cassandra, and knew there was much more work to be done when it came to Sybill Trelawney. She would consult with Cassandra but for now she would allow Sybill to do things on her own terms before lending a helping hand.

The child was born Hesperia Lily Potter.

A babe with tuffs of fire red hair, emerald eyes, light tan skin.

She giggled and smiled.

Mother Morgana was more than thrilled at the sight of the little babe, knowing she would always have her help whether or not she knew it. She would make sure nothing would hurt little Hesperia…at least she tried.

He descended upon Hesperia's parents on one of the Olde Holidays, six parts of his soul already deposited upon inanimate objects. Mother Morgana could not wait until after those objects would be discovered and destroyed, they were blasphemous. She cursed those who delved too deep, were too dark and created the ritual all because they thought they could cheat Brother Death.

Even Hesperia's ancestor, Ignotus, who had asked for a cloak of invisibility from Brother Death, in the end knew immortality was not worth anything. He gave the cloak to his descendants, and they gave it to their descendants, for Ignotus greeted Brother Death like an old friend when he, himself, were old. He took his hand and walked into the afterlife.

The traitor, the enemy of Mother Morgana and all the other deities, killed Hesperia's mother and father. He went by the name Lord Voldemort, but he was no lord. He was still the scared, angry little boy from the 1940's, despite the decades upon decades that had passed.

Mother Morgana watched as he shot off the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra) to the fifteen-month-old infant. Yet her love for the child, the love Brother Death had for the child, and the love from Lily Potter, had saved little Hesperia. Their shield of warmth shot back at Lord Voldemort and the last part of his soul detached itself from him before sinking into the baby. He became a wraith and flew out the window, determined to find a new body and destroy the little girl.

Mother Morgana let her own tears fall from her face and land upon the baby's skin, which absorbed Her Gift. She had chosen Hesperia Potter as her Chosen Daughter; she would make sure she would become a rightful heiress and priestess for Mother Morgana.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Mother Morgana is all colors. She is Light, Gray, and Dark. She is not Black; Black Magic is not her gift to the witches and wizards. This has an almost pagan/holy vibe to the story when it comes to how things are with Mother Morgana. Hesperia's goal is to be known as the daughter of Mother Morgana, and her children and their children will pass the torch down and become priests and priestess and so on and so forth.

I haven't decided who to choose Hesperia with. When I do, you'll see in the tags, and I'll let you know.
