The arrival of the Traveler in the solar system was one of the biggest landmarks in human history. An intelligence some even call it a god from the stars came to our system to bless us with its gifts. The massive spherical paracausal entity made its way into our system 15 years ago and stunned the masses. The sociality the Traveler had found was a superhuman one that had 80% of the population having a power, a quirk.

One individual was unfortunately part of the 20%, quirkless some would say powerless. But the Traveler changed many things on our Earth. Would it also change this young man's destiny?

"Alright everyone, today is an important day." The homeroom middle school teacher walked to the front of the classroom. He turned once he reached his desk and turned to the students "Today you'll be deciding what high school you want to go to and want a job you want to work for the rest of your lives." His monotone voice did nothing to excite his students.

"Or…" A smile grew on his face and his voice lightened. "We could all go out to the hero track!" At that everyone in the room cheered and let loose their powers but two people. "Alright, alright everyone no quirk use in school you know this." His monotone voice returned before he was interrupted.

This day just keeps getting better. Izuku had been listening to Katsuki Bakugou talk himself up to the teacher for about 3 minutes now and he couldn't help but groan internally. "Didn't you sign up for UA too Mydorya?" Izuku tensed as he saw Bakugo freeze mid-sentence.

"Well I- '' Izuku sputtered out before being interrupted by an explosion. "DEKU!" Katsuki hit his hand on Dekus's table, blowing back Izuku off his chair. "I told you not to sign up for UA you quirkless loser!" Katsuki stood over his desk staring down at him in disgust. "You're worse than these rejects!" He yelled and the rest of the class who had been laughing at Izuku stopped and looked more offended now.

"Alright, you two calm down now save it for later." The teacher told them. Izuku stood up slowly, now having slight burn marks on his arms. Bakugo went back to his desk and grunted as he sat down. Izuku grabbed his chair and sat back down acting like he didn't see the looks of disgust from the other students and even the teacher.

The Speaker stood at his desk and watched the Traveler that floated outside his window. "SOON" He flinched under his mask but no one was there to see. What does it mean? He stared up at the Traveler in confusion. The Speaker had been born seemingly quirkless but unknown at the time he had a strange power.

The power to speak with the Traveler or paracausal entries to be more exact but that was known to only the Speaker himself.

He looked down at his notes and felt a bit of frustration. The same message has been spoken from the Traveler for the past 6 months. "SOON" "GUARDIAN" "RISE". It seemed to him that the Traveler was speaking about someone or something. But the Speaker didn't know what a Guardian was.

He Sat down and pulled up a report given in by the Vanguard about strange power increases in the center of the Traveler. The power the Traveler gave off was called "Light Energy". It was strange in the way it interacted with the outside world but came in handy with powering the operations and experiments ran by the Tower.

He pulled up logs about the Traveler's messages. The first he ever received was simple. "MY SPEAKER". The Traveler didn't speak often but when it did it seemed to be very important like with its terraforming of parts of Mars. That's why speaking of a Guardian is strange.

"Maybe the protective forces around the Tower-'' he said aloud before he stopped. Light a blinding light. The Traveler was doing something. The Speaker covered his eyes and turned around so as to not go blind. "NOW"

The Speaker turned in surprise that the Traveler had a new message. But before he could do anything else he saw something surprising not unwelcome but surprising to be sure.

What a day he was having. First, he gets attacked by Kachan in front of the whole class. Second, he is forced to watch his class enjoy their day at the hero track. Now he is stuck alone in the classroom with Kachan and his lackeys.

"You useless deku, I told you not to sign up for UA, and from what I hear you are still keeping these stalker journals." Izuku flinched; he knew Kachan hated that he wrote his hero journals after all the burns still hurt from the last time he found them.

"I didn't mean to offend you Kachan I just couldn't forgive myself if I didn't at least try to g-get in…" He looked down at the floor not wanting to see the rage building in Kachan's eyes. "Stop calling me that nerd!" Katsukie walked over to him and grabbed his shirt before pushing him to the ground.

He let out a yelp as he landed on the ground and before he could get up Kachan grabbed his journal from his desk. No not again he worked so hard on this one. "Maybe this will get you to give up on your useless dreams!" Kachan held the journal between his hands and let out an explosion nearly burning it completely before tossing it out the window.

Izuku just stared at Katsuki as he walked away from Midoriya. No not again why won't he let me ever be happy? Izuku felt tears coming on but he wouldn't let them show through. "Ya know." Izuku looked up with eyes full of water. "If you really want to be a hero there is something you could do."

Izuku looked at him in confusion. Was this finally the apostle he wanted? Did Kachan finally start being nice? "Yeah jump off the roof and hope for a quirk in your next life, worthless deku." Izuku stood up and faced Bakugou with a look of horror and anger.

"What's wrong?" Kachan held his hand up and let loose tiny pops in his hand. Izuku lost all confidence and slumped back down on the ground to the singers of Bakugou and his two tagalongs.

The Speaker was dumbstruck by the machine that had appeared in his room. "What did you call yourself again?" The Speaker spoke in his soft voice canceling the confusion. "Um, a Ghost." The one-eyed floating machine spoke once more. "Yes but what does that mean?" The Speaker wasn't sure what to make of the thing.

It didn't seem evil in fact it was quite nice and even said it came from the Traveler. "Well, you see The Traveler created me to find it something." The Ghost spoke in its seemingly male voice. "Yes I understand that but what do you mean a Guardian." The Speaker spoke softly, trying to give the Ghost no pressure.

"It's a Human a person I mean…" "Yes but who?" The Speaker interrupted. "I- I don't know I'm meant to find them…" The Ghost answered, sounding disappointed not to have an answer. "Well then."After a long moment, the Speaker stood up. "I think it best I notify the rest of the Tower about your presence and then you shall be allowed to find this Guardian you speak of."

The Ghost let off what seemed to be happy beeps "Thank you, Speaker." He was excited to start the journey to find his Guardian.

Izuku walked down the old tunnel as he made his way home. He made sure that no one saw him leaving the school and no one saw how he reached for his journal in the fountain outside the school. "At least Kachan doesn't know about this path home…" He walked to the opposite end of the tunnel and paused.

He sniffed the air twice before realizing it was Sewler. "What the.." He turned around to see the manhole shaking. Before something, someone slashed and threw it. "A VILLAIN!" Izuku thought aloud. He turned on his feet and started to run away. But before he could the villain who was made of a sludge of some kind jumped at him.

"A perfect skin suit just for me!" The villain's voice rang through Izuku's ears as he got held in place by the sludge villain. "NO-" he screamed and was cut off by the sludge forcing some of himself into his mouth. Izuku reached his arm up and tried to tear and pull the sludge but it had zero effect. "Calm down kid, it will only last a minute. I didn't know he was in town…" The villain added fear in his voice.

Izuku's mind was going blank. He was going to die right here and now. No one would save him and no one would care. Only his own mother might and he was sorry to be leaving her so soon. He was crying now but he didn't care he was going to die the last thing he would see was his villain's slimy face.

"I AM HERE!" Izuku couldn't tell if he was seeing things or not but that looked like All Might. The sludge villain suddenly let out a cry as All Might let out a mighty punch. "Texas Smash!" The villain blew apart and Izuku was sent flying to the ground. Maybe Izuku should close his eyes for a minute. He sure was tired…

-KTE-

What is that? Is he being slapped? He opened his eyes and "Oh my God All Might!" He suddenly shot back up to his feet and began to bow. "Thank you so much for saving me!" He then looked around frantically. "Where's my journal… I need a pen… Can you sign my-"

He opened to see All Might already had left an autograph in his notebook. "Thank you so much All Might!" He began to bow again. All Might chuckled as he saw his young fans' reaction to everything. "Calm down young man, I'm glad to see you are alright." He said in a triumphant voice. "But now if you don't mind I must be off as crime never waits so neither can Heros!" he said, preparing to make a jump.

No, he couldn't. Izuku had to ask him if it was his only chance. "Wait All Might-" Izuku grabbed a hold of his jeans and before he knew it he felt the force of very high wind pressure on his face. "Hey hey hey I love my fans but this is too much." The number one hero voiced as he moved to push the kid off.

"But if I let go now I'll die!" The hero looked around and said apologetically. "Oh you're right I'll land us." Izuku fell to his knees as he landed on the ground and looked up to All Might. "Knock on the door someone should let you in before long." All Might walked to the edge of the roof they landed on getting ready to jump

"Wait!" "No, I have to get to the"

"Can I be a Hero without a quirk!"

The pause after the question felt like a lifetime and Izuku couldn't stand it. Izuku finally gathered the courage to look to All Might only to see a skinny tall man where the hero once stood. "What! You're not All Might you're a fake!" The man looked at Izuku with hollow eyes.

"Young man, I assure you I am All Might." As he ended the sentence he coughed up a large amount of blood. All Might then grabbed the bottom of his shirt and lifted up to show a massive scar. "Pretty gnarly huh?" All Might looked to see the kids' reaction.

Izuku couldn't believe what he heard All Might hurt by a villain? It wasn't possible. But to be fair no one thought a massive ball would one day show up and advance technology. "To answer your question, no I don't believe a quirkless person could be a hero. This job is too dangerous, try becoming a police officer. They get some crap because heroes do most of the fighting these days but it's a fine career."

Izuku felt his life shatter and looked at the floor as All Might continued to speak about the cons of being a hero. Izuku didn't know why he thought he would be different. But Izuku knew it was true he didn't stand a chance at becoming a hero. He barely realized he was alone on the roof now after All Might left.

He was broken from his thoughts after a large explosion sounded far off. "Huh, another hero fighting?" He made his way down the stairway pulling out his journal. "I wonder what heroes might be there?"

Why bother? He stopped mid-way down the stairs. There is no point in him being a hero. He put his journal away and just began to walk. He didn't have a plan on where he would end up but he kept on walking.

"Huh?" He realized while walking he had made his way to the fight and cursed internally. "He has a kid in there!" Izuku looked at the guy who shouted that out. Izuku made his way through the crowd and looked through the fire and smoke to see the same sludge villain. "But I thought All Might…"

It was his fault he grabbed onto his jeans. He made the bottle holding the villain fall. Izuku stared at the villain in horror, realizing this was all his fault. How is that kid holding on so long I could only last a minute before I blacked out? He looked closer to see… Kachan.

He didn't know how, or why, but he moved. He jumped the fence and began sprinting to the villain. The look in Kachan's eyes.. He needed help. As he drew closer he took his backpack into his hands and threw it at the villain's eyes hitting one stunning the villain for a few seconds.

He reached into the villain and started to claw at the slim but again it had no effect. "You little piece of the shit!" The villain reached out a sludge claw and hit Izuku, sending him into a window of a burning building. Izuku coughed and stood up before falling to his knees. The heat was unbearable. "Save him." He whispered as his head hurt like hell. "I need to.." He crawled towards the same window he was sent through as the fire raged around him.

As he reached the window he grabbed onto the rim feeling glass stick into his hands but fought through the pain as he claimed scratching his arms and stomach on the way out. "Kachan.." He looked forward to seeing the sludge villain being destroyed by All Might as he saved the day once more. "Thank goodness…" He said before trying to lay back on a piece of rumble.

He looked down at what was stopping him. His eyes widened in horror as he saw the piece of rebar sticking out his stomach. "Shit." he grabbed his stomach as he felt all the pain now. He was too tired. He barely notices All Might running to him and calling for a medic. He didn't care anymore. He just hoped his mom wouldn't be too sad. But I think it's time to rest now as the world fades away.

( Just saying don't expect me to update this too fast for the first month School is picking up but I have some ideas I like for this story)
