Chapter 1

The night sky is pitch black, only illuminated by the fallen kingdom set on fire.

The air is shimmering with the floating glittering embers of burnt down buildings.

The distant echoes of gunfire and explosions, and the faint choruses of screams.

The roads are flowing with the sanguine river stream of blood, the crimson streets littered with slaughtered corpses of the dead and the dying lying all over the floor.

Towering skeletal silhouettes of buildings - that once used to be homes, shopping stores, restaurants and others of social gatherings of any kind, have all been almost reduced to atoms. The ruins of the buildings now look like clawed fingers from the stretched arms of dead corpses reaching to the blood red sky.

The Roads were filled with Grimm - pitch black animalistic creatures with skulls for faces, and Ghouls - the living dead strolling about, some of them feasting upon each other's flesh from one another. The endless hordes of ghouls shamble through the streets, the dead with no purpose other than to feast on the unfortunate, unprotected living in their path. The pitch black feral wolf-like abominations that are called Grimm Beowolves - one of many types of Grimm, roam around as they prowl the desolated battlefield of the once well protected kingdoms of Remnant.

Many of the foul creatures have been at least repelled or killed by the Barricaded entrances of hunters and huntresses - great defenders of humanity, and the soldiers of the Atlas Military - troops cladded in White armor and wielding their small arms, are doing everything they can to rescue and evacuate as many civilians as they can from the fallen kingdom while killing off many Grimm that approaches them.

Amongst the unaware hordes of unholy creatures that were repelled by the barricades' defenses, a couple of survivors are just trying to make their way across the barricade to safety - exhausted teenage twins both brother and sister, with ivory skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. Who are in their worst state, and worn and torn clothes that are horrible to wear due to surviving the ordeal they are currently in. The oldest of the two peered out from the rubble. He saw a wandering ghoul, but the ghoul saw him. Johan readied his hand open, forming a small but powerful orb in his hand in turn to attack the ghoul. The zombie slowly walked towards him, reaching his arms out and opening his gnashing jaws filled with razor-sharp teeth. The creature groaned and moaned, mouth watering, hungering for the fresh flesh off of the radiant youthful twins.

A flash of pitch black blurred at blinding speed in front of them.

The Beowolf Grimm tackled the ghoulish zombie. The Ghoul shrieks back, flashing its gnashing teeth. A thick clawed paw smashed its head into oblivion. The Grimm continued to rip and tear the Ghoul to shreds, before imminently sinking his jaws full of steak knife fang into the zombie. The commotion presented an opportunity to sneak their way to the barricade and escape to safety.

The big brother powered down the power in the palm of his hand until it no longer existed. He looked back at his sister. "Come on, Anna. Let's get moving now."

"Are you sure it's safe to go, Johan?" the younger sister said, very scared.

Johan held his hand out to hold hers to assure her safety. "Of course, this is our opportunity to leave this place."

Anna, still quite uncertain but trusts her brother. She hesitantly lifts her hand to get a hold on his hand. "Come on, let's get out of here." Johan quietly hurried her sister on their way out of the desolated wasteland.

The twins steadily move quickly out of their cover, steadily quick footing away from the carnage.

Crack!

The oldest brother accidentally stepped on some broken glass. The boy broke a cold sweat and sharply glanced his widened eyes at the broken glass he stepped on, furthermore he focused back to the wolf Grimm - who is flinging around the corpse in its jaws back to back, like a common dog that is aggressively plays with its rag doll chew toy. Luckily for the oldest of the twins, He didn't get the full attention of the Grimm towards them. Johan gestured to his sister to follow his lead. They steadily sneaked their way out of here.

A rubble of pebbles and small rocks slides down towards them from uphill. Both of the teenage twins stopped dead in their tracks, then suddenly, dribbles of transparent viscous liquid dripped on the young girl's head and shoulder. The boy checked on his sister's well-being and pinched the strange crystal clear viscous liquid then rubbed it between his fingers. The boy came to a horrifying conclusion: the substance between his fingers was saliva.

More dribbles of saliva dripped on the girls' shoulders, and both of them looked up and saw the face of their troubles - the grin of drooling mouth watered snarling full of razor-sharp bone-crushing teeth jaws belonging to a giant stock-builded 9 foot tall behemoth skull faced pitch black monstrosity of a Bear with protruding spear like spikes popping up from its back and shoulders. The feature that is quite noticeable was the beast's fiery red eyes, It's hellfire gemstone eyes that appeared to be heavily fractured leaving the creature completely blind. Fortunately for the beast, its nose functions quite well and works as if it were sharp as ever before; Unfortunately for the poor twins, the beast has all of its noses full undivided attention fully directed at them.

"Run!" Johan grabbed his sister's hand and the two made a run for it. The Grimm Major Ursa chased after the twins, with the horde of Beowulf and creeps following along in the pursuit for the carnage. Nina used all of her energy to form a energy bubble barrier to ensnare the Giant Ursa Major; Johan used his void semblance powers and conjured up a few sphere voids orbs, then tossed a all of at the horde - one of the shots hit one of the Beowolves in the face and disintegrating its skull head, the other shot tore up another Beowolf at its leg which cause it to collapsed, and the last one just completely disintegrated a creep. The ensnared Ursa major trapped in the bubble rolling back out of control, and few shots that crippled the front of the horde a good chain reaction of the Grimm at the front to fumble and stumble forwards, which had obstructed the path for the following Grimm behind them and slowed them down.

This has given them enough distance to get away from the Grimm horde and make it to the barricade in safety. Both of the twins kept on running as fast as possible. All of the zombies and Grimm horde are approaching, forcing them to take the high ground. Thankfully, the Twins have made it to the top of the pile of rubble and debris. They surveyed the area from up high, trying to find a detour back to the safety rendezvous.

"Look! Open road ahead!" Anna pointed out that there is an empty road that could be safe to take as an escape route.

Johan took a good look at the road. "That's very good, Anna." The siblings kept running. The twins ran as fast as they could downhill and made their sprint to the road.

Before they could escape any further, an explosion erupted from the building, followed by a foggy cloud of smoke and ashes from the destroyed, desolated building. What is slowly emerging from the smoky cloud was the same Ursa Major that spotted them in the first place. They backed away from the Bear-like Grimm monstrosity; only to turn and see the hoards of Grimm and Ghouls descending from the hill. Unluckily, they both forced themselves against the wall. Johan readying one last void orb in his hand, which has left him a depleted aura to form one last shot; Anna formed an energy bubble shield to shield the both of them. The two of them - back to back, are at odds against a horde of all kinds of blood-thirsty monsters from almost all directions, and backed against a building wall with absolutely no escape.

"Well. I am pretty sure this is it, sis." Johan chuckled and readied his powers to the maximum.

Anna smiled back at his brother. "We had a hell of a good run, big brother."

They know that we're all done for.

So they'd thought, were it not for the Machine gun fire sprayed bullets everywhere. Hails of bullets mowed down both Ghouls and Grimm alike. Rogue soldiers butchered and decapitated the ghouls and Grimm that were not in the field of firing bullets, somehow moving faster than the speed of a bullet. Ghouls being ripped and torn to shreds like rag dolls. Some of the ghouls had their heads all of a sudden exploded like grotesque parodies of a piƱata. Grenades were thrown onto the floor. A chaotic storm of explosions happened all over, followed by a cacophony of death howls and body parts flying all over in the air.

Hordes of Beowulf Grimm transformed into crimson and charcoal black blossoms in a matter of seconds, what were once unholy creatures of darkness that were roaming the streets as the apex predators preying upon humanity have now been reduced to furry eviscerated black and crimson slabs of meat. The hapless Grimm creatures that were prowling the ruined wreckage of the area have been reduced to slabs of pitch black meat that is stabbed, sliced, slash, torn apart, blown up, and filled with loads and loads of bullets.

The horde of Grimm and ghouls that were going to feast upon the flesh of the youthful has all been reduced to littered corpses.

The Major Ursa that was standing over head ripped off of its body had a shovel shove into its chest, pulled the shovel lodged in the Grimm Major Ursa downwards to the ground and dislodge the shovel out of the Major Ursa chest, now the shovel has been lodged on to its skull and pull back, rearing the Bear Grimm up high. The struggling Grimm roared in excruciating pain, and hopelessly tried to get the shovel out of its skull face with its giant dinner plate paw tipped with large claws. the snapping, cracking and popping noises from the Grimm's head being ripped off with its spinal cord still attached to its shovel lodged skull head.

The Major Ursa's headless body, now limp as a ragdoll, is now collapsing to the floor, all the while its decapitated body gushes blood from the neck like a sanguine water fountain.

The lifeless body of the Ursa Major collapsed to the floor. The gray archaic coated masked soldier holding the shovel with the Lodged Ursa Major head, hit his shovel to the floor and stepped on the decapitated head, and dislodged the shovel. Nothing left but drowning silence. The masked soldier holding the shovel slowly turned to the surviving twins; the soldier pointed at the twins, which confused the twins. "You two."

The soldier pointed to the road where the twins were going. "Leave."

"Now."

The Twins made a successful daring escape to safety.

The sergeant of vampire soldiers looked at the twins running away to safety. The older sibling took a quick glance at them while running away. It was a look of absolute hate and disgust, with a hint of fear. They have every right to be afraid of them and disgusted with them after what they are and what they've done. On the bright side, however, he gets a sense of relief that the two youngsters get to flee to safety away from this infernal hellscape that they caused.

One of the soldiers asked. "Hey Reinhold."

"yeah?" Reinhold responded.

"Are we Bad people?"

"From their perspective, Frederick." Reinhold surveyed the hellish landscape that they have caused thanks to their damned existence. "Absolutely yes. We are definitely bad people in this situation. This is the Hell that monsters like us deserve."

Fortner heard loud chewing coming directly from the soldier that asked him that question. He saw the soldier snacking on a hand that appears to be that of a decapitated silk smooth youthful limb of a young woman decorated in a weaponized shotgun Gauntlet.

"What you got there, Frederick?" Reinhold sternly asked

"A pretty jewelry trinket." Reinhold had the most unamused look yet in all of Frederick's undead life. "It also transforms into a machine gun shotgun punchy gauntlet. You want it?"

"What you got there in your other hand?"

"I found it on the floor of the vale campus ruins." Fred gauchely answered.

Reinhold facepalmed "are you seriously Snacking at a time like this? where did you even find that arm in the first place? "

"With all due respect, I was hungry. We have to dodge monsters bigger than us, being on the run like a war criminal all over again from Hunters with weird weapons that are also guns including having weird superpowers, while ducking and dodging through buildings left and right and have not drunk a single drop of blood in the middle of all this chaos! This is complete total bullshit!" Fred hectically explained gingerly. Reinhold's glared in a stoic silence as the only response. "My sincerest apologies, Sergeant. Can we please keep it down?"

Blinding rays of light shine down upon them. The company of the last battalion looked up to the sky towards the source of light. Some held their hand to shield their eyes from the blinding rays of light, trying to get a decent view. They got caught by spotlights projected from an air fleet composed of three Atlesian Aerial Gunships.

The three Atlesian Aerial Gunships - all of them have their dual tri-barreled Gatling guns armed and ready, their guns aimed at the Rogue gray greatcoat cladded masked soldiers. "So much for trying to keep it down." Reinhold growled under his breath.

"Attention all members of the millennium and the last battalion! This is Clover Ebi, leader of Ace-Ops! By the authority of the ATLAS Military, you are ordered to drop your weapons and surrender now, or we will kill you!" The Booming voice of the Loudspeakers from the military gunship offered them a choice - surrender quietly to the enemy and put their fate under their hands, or fight against them to the death in blaze and glory.

The sergeant pondered on this decision for a bit. The last battalion had wallowed in the darkness for over half a century, their hopes to return to their glorious battlefield of London has been sidelined permanently, They got stranded and adapted in a world they have no clue about, they got just some genuine joy for once in their undead life in this world and had that said joy snatched away from them, and now this new world is now against them and they have nothing nowhere else to run. They left the sergeant with the only one option left. That option left for them is the only thing that is their bread and butter. To wage war.

"Shoot them! Everyone open fire!" Sgt. Reinhnold shouted the orders. A pair of battalion soldiers aimed their Panzerfaust at the Atlesian Gunship. They launched the Panzerfaust. The rocket spiraled upwards toward the gunship. All last battalion soldiers followed suit, all of them firing their small arms at the aerial military vehicle. The Panzerfaust hit the Atlesian gunship and a massive fireball explosion erupted at the cockpit.

The aerial gunship got knocked back by the fiery explosion, then had spiraled out of control. The gunship spiraled downward as it fruitlessly tried to maintain some form of balance and control in the air, and then it crash landed into the ground.

The outcome was one Atlesian aerial gunship that was brought down to be a smoldering, fiery wreckage - once the other two aerial gunships balanced themselves, they shot their tri-barreled Gatling guns back at the rogue soldiers, and deployed Team Ace-ops along with their own personal highly modified and upgraded squad of Atlesian Knight 200 with deadlier weapons on the rogue soldiers.

The squadron of the Last Battalion retreated from the Atlesian forces. Several of the soldiers from the squadron got gunned down by the gunships, few of them got obliterated by the Advanced Atlesian robot Knights, some of them got killed by Ironwoods Special Ops team, nonetheless, The rest of the Squadron retreated back to the wreckage of the city to regather their numbers and reform their ranks to advance against their adversaries. Reinhold Fortner, stayed behind a bit and used his semblance to form a fortified wall behind his troops.

The remaining squad of the millennium remnants formed their ranks, lined up and readied their weapons, and once again wage their old war on a new foe.
