Authors Note: Hey guys, so I've had this idea for a long time, and yall know me and how I love Ben, so I made this! It's not gonna be a very long story, but rather just a fun short story following Uncle Ben and Uncle Kaine as they take care of Mayday for a week while Peter and MJ go on a vacation. This story is connected to the Spectacular Spider-Man continued stuff I've been doing, but is obviously years later in the future. Don't worry, there will be no spoilers for that stuff aside from Kaine being part of the family, and Aunt May is dead at this point (old age, yall understand). So, I hope y'all enjoy the fun!

Chapter 1

"There's plenty of milk in the fridge, so you shouldn't run out."

"Bro," Ben said dryly. He shifted his niece in his arms and stuck his tongue out at her. Mayday giggled and reached up to touch it, happy as could be in her uncle's arms.

"She's been having trouble sleeping recently, so if she can't stay put, just climb into the crib for a bit and she'll settle down," Peter continued. He paced around the Living Room like a momma bear watching her cub.

Kaine stood like a statue in the center, watching Peter pace with crossed arms. "I don't cuddle, Parker," he said.

Ben looked over at his older brothers and smirked. "Oh, you wouldn't be able to say no to this little hatchling," he said as he walked right up to Kaine and plopped Mayday on his shoulder, not bothered with a fear of her falling.

The same couldn't be said about her father, who rushed in quickly to snatch Mayday from her precarious position despite the fact she started to climb around her other uncle. Peter peeled Mayday away from Kaine, which only caused Kaine to growl as he got dragged along due to Mayday's hand being stuck to his long, shaggy bun. "Ben! She can barely control her powers as it is!" Peter scolded as he tried to stop a laughing Mayday from getting a handful of Kaine's shaggy beard as well.

"Oh please, like something can happen to her with three Spider-Senses honed in on her!" Ben retorted, taking a picture of the chaos in front of him.

Kaine made a wild grab for Ben's phone. "If you don't delete that picture, Reilly, I'm gonna f–"

"DUDE!" Peter shouted, still unable to shake Mayday free from Kaine's beard. "Watch the language around my kid! And that's not the point Ben!"

"You know, you never really tell me what the point actually is."

"Your kid better get her hands off of my mug!" Kaine grunted. Despite his frustration, his calloused hands remained quite gentle around Mayday's pudgy little ones.

"She's not coming loose alright!" Peter said, then his voice changed to more that of a coo as he tried to coax his daughter into letting go. "Mayday–baby, let go of Uncle Kaine's beard. We keep our hands to ourselves like Daddy taught you."

Ben snickered as he changed the setting on his phone from camera to video and pressed record.

"Well, this went about as well as expected," a voice said. Ben looked to his left to see MJ leaning on the Kitchen door frame. She watched her husband, brother-in-law, and daughter with amusement, then looked back at Ben. "You had better send me every picture or video you take this week."

"Parker, why is she holding on tighter?

"You think she came with a manual?"

"Pete mentioned something about cuddling," Ben said, zooming his camera in on Mayday as she stuck her tongue out at Kaine and blew raspberries at him. "I bet you five bucks I can snap a pic of Kaine and Mayday in the crib together."

MJ stuck out her hand immediately, very confident in her gamble. "Easiest five bucks I've ever made!"

"Yes, it will be. But make sure you have cash, please. None of this Venmo crap," Ben said as he shook his sister-in-law's hand.

MJ rolled her eyes. "What is it with the Parkers and being ten years behind on everything!"

Ben placed a hand on his chest as though he had been wounded. "Hey, this is an iPhone 4!"

"The twelve is coming out."

"Okay, she's not budging," Peter said.

"Oh really!?" Kaine growled. "And what clued you in to that fact?"

"So I'm just gonna pull," Peter continued.

"WHAT!?"

Mayday gave a shout of delight as Kaine's eyes bugged in his sockets.

"You getting this?" MJ asked, her eyes lighting up.

"Oooooooohhh, yeah," Ben said, zooming in further on the video.

"One." Peter placed a hand around Mayday's waist.

"Parker, I swear to god–"

"Two!" Peter put his foot on Kaine's chest, ready to push off of him.

Ben handed the phone over to MJ. "You may want to hold this."

"-if you do this I will paralyze you and send you to Paris in a suitcase–"

"THREE!"

Peter yanked Mayday back and pushed hard on Kaine's chest! Kaine screamed as Mayday left a hand-sized print on his cheek. He and Peter fell backward to the floor, and Mayday sprung into the air, giggling like no tomorrow, and latched onto the ceiling. For a moment, she clung to the ceiling, giddy as a kid just given her first toy. Then, a hand lost its stickiness to the ceiling, and it no longer became fun. The rest of Mayday's appendages followed, and then she plummeted to the floor.

"Mayday!" Peter shouted.

Just before he sprung into action, a blond blur in a sleeveless blue hoodie bounded past him. Ben caught Mayday gently in his arms and clung to the Living Room window. "What did I tell you; Spider-Sense! You get it all, MJ?"

"Oh, yes," MJ said, lowering the phone. "I can't wait to show this to May when she's older and trying to decide if she likes Peter or I more."

"I can make it so your odds are guaranteed," Kaine muttered, glaring stingers at Peter. He touched the freshly bare patch of skin in the shape of a hand on his face.

"I'll keep that in mind," MJ said, tossing Ben his phone.

"MJ!"

MJ shrugged and dragged her large suitcase across the Living Room to Peter. "Be a dear and go pack up the last of the car, will you?"

"But I'm not done–"

"Tiger, they've babysat her before," MJ said, lifting Peter off the floor. "They can handle a week."

"I know that," Peter said defensively. "It's just, well, what if she misses us?"

"You are adorable when you forget that Facetime is a thing," MJ said, pinching Peter's cheek.

"Also, you have two clones here, bro," Ben said as he tried to get Kaine to look at the camera for a selfie with him and Mayday. Mayday barely paid the camera any mind as Kaine's beard stuck to her hand occupied all her attention. "Tall, dark, and brooding over here would just have to shave to pass as you. Unfortunately, I could never be able to pass as you, I'm just too pretty."

"Pretty fu–"

"DUDE!"

"Don't you have a car to pack?" Kaine growled, shooting a death glare at Peter.

"Yes, he does," MJ said, placing her suitcase in Peter's arms.

"But–"

"Go on, Tiger," she said, patting him on the shoulder. "I can handle the Spider-Brothers."

Peter looked at MJ, the protest on the tip of his tongue, but he could see it would be to no avail. Not when MJ raised her eyebrows at him. Peter bowed his head and lifted the suitcase effortlessly off the ground. Just before he walked out of the house, Ben mimed the sound of a whip crack. Peter stopped in the doorway for a moment before walking out and slamming the door shut.

MJ shot Ben an exasperated look, and Ben smirked. "I mean, it's true."

"It is."

"And he's overreacting," Ben said. "There's no safer babysitters to have than two uncles that can sense any danger, and one of whom would be willing to kill literally anything that would even think about hurting her."

"I tend not to discriminate when it comes to that," Kaine said, casting Ben a look of warning.

"See, she's in safe hands!" Ben said without skipping a beat.

"That's not why he's like this," MJ said. "Peter…doesn't do well with planes."

Ben and Kaine looked at each other, both knew the other was reliving the same memory. They looked back to Mayday in Ben's arms, blissfully unaware of the dark cloud that fell over them.

"But, you know how he is," MJ said. "He a worrywart, but once he can get past it–rips the band-aid off–he'll be fine. Just indulge him for the first few days, alright?"

Ben and Kaine looked at Mayday who now stared at the tuft of hair stuck to her arm like it was the most fascinating thing in the world. They could understand Peter's worry. They knew how devastated they would be if they never got to see this little bundle of joy again. Let alone dealing with that thought on the very thing that took their parents from them when they were kids.

"Alright, MJ," Peter said as he walked back into the house. "It's all packed."

MJ quickly composed herself and walked over to Peter. "Good, now gimme those keys!"

Peter lifted the keys out of MJ's reach. "I'll have you know I passed my driver's test with swinging colors this time!" he said. "Believe it or not, being Spider-Man does have its perks."

"You don't have to remind me of those, Tiger," MJ said, leaning in closer to Peter's face. "I remember them quite vividly."

Ben gagged. "I'm glad I don't. God, Kaine, could you imagine if we had to deal with all of that"-Ben gestured at Peter and MJ–"in our heads? I don't think I'd ever be able to sleep again."

"Sleep is overrated anyway," Kaine said, shrugging.

"Vampire."

"Alright," MJ said, stopping the Spider-Bros before they got the ball rolling. "We are gonna be late for the flight."

"Yeah…" Peter took his daughter from Ben and looked at her, and Ben and Kaine recognized that look. They knew exactly what memory was playing over in Peter's head as it was the exact same one they saw in their mind's eye now. A memory that brought forth both the biggest fear in his mind, but also one of the warmest feelings in the world. The unconditional love of a parent. "I love you, baby." Peter kissed Mayday on the nose, causing her to giggle.

MJ moved in and nibbled at Mayday's ear, and Mayday's giggle grew to an almost uncontrollable level. "We'll see you soon," she whispered, then she looked at Kaine and Ben and smirked. "Make sure they don't get into any trouble, ok?"

"Hey!"

"She's right, Reilly."

Ben took Mayday from Peter and he and Kaine followed Peter and MJ to the door. They watched as their brother entered the car with his wife and pulled out of the driveway of their childhood home. Ben waved goodbye as Kaine just leaned against the door. Mayday just watched, swinging her legs as she sat in her Uncle Ben's arms.

"Well," Ben said, looking at Kaine with a devious smile. "Who's up for a nap?"

Kaine scoffed and turned back into the house.

"Oh, come on!" Ben whined as he chased after Kaine. "You gotta practice before you cuddle with her! Being the Big Spoon is a big responsibility!"

"If you say what I think you are going to say, I will stab you," Kaine said, grabbing the front door.

"That's fine, I think there's a pad of paper around here somewhere," Ben said, just as Kaine closed the door and began the most important task of their lives: babysitting their little Spider-Girl!
