It was a cold night to wait outside the Toronto airport, but the cold air felt good, especially after hours of stuffy airplanes and airports. Jack looked to Lisa and then down to John, who now had a fleece blanket over him, and then he looked back to Lisa who was studying the cars making their way through the airport pick up area.

"You're really enjoying this," he said in a huff, "not telling me who is picking us up or where we are going."

She turned and smiled at him; Lisa walked to him and put her arms up around his shoulders and leaned up, almost kissing him, but stopping just short of that and looked at him, her eyes sparkling, "It is quite fun to unnerve you like this. I told you to just trust me, and you said you did."

"I do," he frowned, and she pecked his lips and readjusted to put her arms around his middle. "He should be here any minute. Thanks for warming me up," she said pulling herself tighter against him in the cold air. She held that stance for a few seconds and then stepped back, looking to the oncoming traffic again. Jack just chuckled and turned back to John, who was miraculously still awake.

"Does HE have room for us?" Jack asked, a tilt of the head.

"Mmmhmm," Lisa mumbled. "He can even deliver us back to the airport tomorrow." She made eye contact with Jack, "He owes me, BIG TIME," she said with a sultry voice, and at Jack's scowl, she just winked, laughed, and nodded. "This is fun." Jack scoffed, and she continued to tease him, "I've really been there for him emotionally over the years. He and I share quite the bond, something indescribable." Jack just waved his hand and stopped listening to Lia, instead pacing in small circles, almost sick to his stomach at whoever this person was coming to get them. How had he not heard about this mystery man over the years? Lisa might not have said she dated the guy, but Jack had a lot of other ideas floating through his head. She'd traveled the world, and there was no telling with her, even though she was his Lisa, and he did trust her with what she was saying. His head almost had a split screen of what she was and what things he didn't want to think.

"There he is!" Lisa waved her hand, and Jack tried to put eyes on this guy, this guy he'd already decided to hate, and he couldn't see much coming in the distance except a black or maybe dark navy Range Rover-it was too dark to make it out exactly. He groaned, knowing that anyone who drove one of those was not someone in his social circle. Lisa had been the pleasant exception, or rather, he'd adjusted to her maybe not her fancy friends, with her fancy Porsche.

With the dark sky and even the airport lights, he couldn't make out the guy driving. The glare of the lights hit the car wrong, and after trying to see who was pulling up, he just looked over at Lisa, now almost jumping for joy and waving at the car. Truthfully, he hadn't seen her this excited, this giddy about someone or much of anything in he didn't know when, and that was saying a lot since they'd just gotten married and celebrated that and her birthday.

Jack waited on the curb with John and their bags, while Lisa was almost hit by the approaching Range Rover mystery man, went running around the front of it as it came to a stop. Jack tried to see inside, but the stupid fancy car had all kinds of tinting to it. He watched Lisa, and she threw herself at the guy as the door opened. Jack stood there, face turning red, and really getting frustrated at all of this, this, this, man friend of Lisa's. The way she threw herself at this guy, well, that was a greeting that he'd only hoped she had for him, had for him many, many times after coming back from France, but he still couldn't see who this jerk was that she'd just thrown herself in front of the car and then thrown herself at HIM to embrace. Jack shook his head, silently cursing this "non" boyfriend of hers.

"Oh, it's so good to see you!" Jack's head snapped back to the scene. His mind wandering was bringing up a lot of things he didn't want to consider. "Thank you for coming. I know it's really late but also knew you said anytime I needed anything to call, and it's been way too long since we've been together."

At that, Jack was about to blow a gasket, and he was deciding between going to pull this guy off his WIFE and turning and retreating back into the airport. Staying somewhere was worth this torture. He had slept on the ground before, and he could do it in an airport tonight.

Jack, took a deep breath and tried to compose himself, even though he knew his blood pressure must be sky high. He looked over as Lisa started to drag this vile creature toward him. Jack still hadn't put eyes on the guy because of how the door was open. He could see he was tall, but that was about it, and he'd spun Lisa, Jack's Lisa, around at the car.

"Jack," Lisa beamed, pulling at her friend, and Jack finally took another deep breath and looked to Lisa, expecting to be ready to slug the guy. He found Lisa with her arm looped through his, and suddenly, Jack froze. "Look who lives in Toronto."

Jack's facial expression changed instantly. He stepped forward, with a smile, his hand out to shake, and tried to laugh, but he was almost still too worked up to laugh, "Ben," he chuckled and shook his head at Lisa while she grinned at him, "it's been too long. Good to see you."
