Epilogue
Niflheim
Inside the Imperial Palace, Ardyn stood near the window, his disappointment in Cinder now truly apparent. The effects of her second death were truly apparent, even as he drew his Rakshasa Blade.
"So, Cinder let herself be taken over by darkness again, and Aiden paid the price for his actions," he told himself.
Sephiroth and his remaining children and wives returned, all of them truly disgusted by what happened, after appearing through the portals.
"It seems that you've called us back for a reason, even after the Kujata was destroyed," said the One-Winged Angel.
"Yes, my father has, Sephiroth," replied Kurai.
"Then you're also aware that Mother Cinder and Aiden are dead, don't you, Azrael?" asked Chrysilla.
"It's unfortunate, but your brother's sacrifice was necessary enough to continue our hunt for Sora. The fleets are growing stronger and stronger as we are using the resources we've acquired from the other city based worlds. But very soon, we will launch an all or nothing attack on Sora and kill him for the deaths of our mothers," replied Azrael.
"You claim that all sacrifices are necessary," scowled Boadicea.
"Yes, because we all believe that the ends shall always justify the means," he remarked.
"And although our mothers are dead, they live on as a part of us, even though Sora killed them both, after breaking what he believed to be curses the gods inflicted upon them, but we will show that blight that his actions bring more harm than good, just as Neo did with Ruby, after we welcomed her into our ranks thanks to Hyena Razor Droid's love for her," added his brother.
"And now Cinder has died once again, and is rotting in hell with Aiden at her side!" yelled Nuno.
"Nuno, calm down," whispered Nui.
"Nui's right, Nuno. Please, listen to her," added Malty.
"Cinder had but one role to play. And even after Sora killed her a second time, he's broken free of her shadow forevermore," said Ardyn.
"And what role would that be, I wonder?" questioned Maleficent.
The Imperial Chancellor chuckled under his breath.
"To prove that Sora does indeed have the same power of kings that Hyena awakened within him. That was her assigned role, and she played it perfectly until the very end," he replied.
"The power of kings!?" gasped Pete.
Indeed so, Pete. And to put it bluntly, Cinder truly played her part admirably, even after she tried to exterminate the Warriors of Light all at once," smirked Ardyn.
"So you're tellin' me that you chose to have Cinder be sacrificed again, just like how Sephiroth and Salem did?" inquired Mortimer.
"That is exactly what I told your friend, Mortimer. And I'd rather not repeat my answer again, as it would just automatically bore you to death even further," he replied.
"Okay, spare us the crap, Ardyn! Tell us exactly why you wanted Sora to kill Cinder again, even after we revived her!" snapped Chrysilla.
"Very well then, little raven. But I warn you, this long story will not make any sense to you at any given point after you hear it straight from me," he replied.
Meanwhile, back in Canterlot, Sora sat down in the food court of Canterlot Mall, just as Honey arrived with pizza she had ordered. He was now thinking about what Chi-Chi had told him.
"Hey, Sora…" she said.
"Oh, Honey, what's up?" he replied.
"I was wondering if we could join the others in the festivities," said the Warrior of Love and Light.
"Uh… I guess, but why?" wondered Sora.
"You look like you've been spacing out after Cinder's second death, but at least you've been able to let go of her memories, and break free of her shadow just like how I broke free of Sister Jill's shadow, following the fall of Panther Claw," Honey replied.
"Okay, sure…" smiled the spiky brunette, earning a kiss on his cheek from her.
