Chapter 11 A Surprise Plus One
It was the early hours of the morning and Ash was still sleeping. She had decided to sleep in a bit due to the events of yesterday. As for Johnny he woke up early to finish repairing a car and was planning to go see Ash to make sure she was ok. As soon as Johnny opened the door his father was standing outside with his arms wide open. "Dad you're here!" Johnny exclaimed as he and Big Daddy hugged each other. "I'm happy to see you but I didn't expect for you to be released today." Johnny and his Dad sat down and Johnny's Dad explained he and the others were able to get out early and were assigned to do community service to deliver food. "Where are the guys?" Johnny asked. "At the moment they're picking up breakfast to bring here for us" Big Daddy answered. "By the way, how is your beautiful girlfriend?" Johnny replied, "Ash is fine at least I hope after what happened. I was about to go to her place to see if she was ok."
Big Daddy wanted to know what Johnny meant and Johnny told his Dad about what happened between Ash and her parents including the fake coupon her parents planted in Johnny's mailbox for him. "I can't believe Ash's folks would do that and they have a problem with you two dating. Reminds me of how much your grandparents hated when your Mom and I became a couple because as your Mom used to say I'm a bad boy which her parents didn't like. However they would never have gone that low. I'm sorry that happened to the both of you. At least you have each other and the rest of your friends at the new moon theater" Big Daddy said to Johnny. "Thanks Dad, that means a lot. Tonight she is performing at a club and has invited me to watch her and I'm allowed to bring a plus one. Would you like to come with me?" Johnny asked his Dad and he answered, "That sounds great. The guys are visiting their families tonight and I would love to see Ash rock out."
Johnny was happy to hear that his Dad would be coming along with him to see Ash and they both agreed to keep it a surprise. Stan and Barry came in with bags of food and they all had breakfast together before going to see their families. "I'll see you later guys. I'm going to visit Ash" Johnny said before leaving. When Johnny arrived at Ash's place he saw Ash through her window rehearsing for the show tonight. Johnny knocked really loud to get Ash's attention because Johnny knew that Ash always turned up the volume when she rehearses. Johnny managed to catch Ash's attention and she opened the door. Ash and Johnny hugged each other and Johnny asked, "How are you feeling?" Ash replied, "I'm good at the moment but still trying to wrap it around my head about all of the bullshit my parents caused. I called my grandparents this morning and told them what happened. They're not happy with my parents and plan on tearing them a new one very soon."
After they finished talking Ash rehearsed for a bit more and Johnny stood and watched until Ash was done. "Do you think I'll do well tonight?" Ash asked. "Of course you will don't worry, babe you're gonna rock as always. You know since your massage didn't go as planned how about I give you the relaxing massage you deserve?" Johnny offered. "I like the sound of that" said Ash as she put her guitar down and laid down on her stomach for Johnny to start massaging her back. Ash loved how Johnny was massaging her and felt very relaxed. "Am I just as good as the masseuse from the massage parlor?" Johnny asked out of curiosity. "I don't know the masseur was very good at rubbing me in all the right spots" Ash answered in a sarcastic way as she turned her head and winked at Johnny. Johnny knew Ash was messing with him but decided to get even and said, "So you liked being rubbed a certain way? How does this feel?" Johnny gently dragged his fingers on Ash's back.
Ash tried to hold in her laughs but she couldn't and bursted out laughing as Johnny was tickling her. Between giggles Ash said, "I like your massages more" as she tried to wiggle her way out of Johnny's grip. Johnny went back to massaging Ash for a few more minutes before letting her get up. "You do realize I will get even?" Ash pointed out in a playful way as she got on top of Johnny and tickled him right back causing Johnny to laugh and almost fall but Johnny managed to maintain his balance. When the couple were done having their fun Ash cuddled on Johnny's chest and thanked him for being the best boyfriend ever. "I try but I'm the lucky one to have a wonderful girlfriend like you. I can't wait until your show tonight" Johnny pointed out as he continued cuddling Ash. Later on Ash left for the club where she was performing. When Ash got on stage she looked in the audience to see if Johnny had arrived and found his seat. Ash spotted Johnny where he was sitting and at first she had no idea who was sitting next to Johnny until the person waved to her. That was then when Ash realized it was Johnny's Dad.
Ash gave an amazing show and everyone clapped, cheered and wanted an encore. After the show Ash went to find Johnny and his Dad. "That was an awesome show. My boy is lucky to have such a talented girlfriend" Big Daddy said to Ash as he and Ash greeted each other with a hug. "It's so good to see you. Johnny did tell me you and the guys were getting an early parole but I didn't think it would be be this soon but I'm glad you're here Mr. Gorilla" Ash said to Big Daddy. Ash then hugged Johnny as he congratulated Ash on an awesome performance. "You were amazing on stage Babe and I think we should go celebrate" Johnny declared as he, Ash and Johnny's Dad all had dinner together.
While they were eating together Big Daddy noticed a ring on Ash's finger. "Is that what I think that is on your finger, Ash?" Big Daddy asked. "Oh no it's not an engagement ring. Johnny gave me this beautiful promise ring for my birthday last year. My awful parents thought it was an engagement ring which is one of the reasons why they tried to break up me and Johnny" replied Ash. "Yeah I know Johnny told me what happened and I'm sorry you two went through that. I don't know why anyone would do something so horrible. Hopefully some time in jail will set them on the right path and maybe therapy. I know it did for me and the guys. Also your parents don't deserve you. You're a wonderful person who deserves to be happy with whatever you want to do with your life including making me your father in law if you two do get married" Big Daddy winked.
Both Johnny and Ash blushed while looking at each other with so much love in their eyes. After dinner it was getting late and Johnny offered to take Ash home. "Ash it was good seeing you. I look forward to seeing you again hopefully for the holiday season" said Big Daddy. "You got it and thank you for coming" said Ash as she and Johnny went back to Ash's place together. When the happy couple got to Ash's place Ash said, "Since it's really late you're welcome to stay the night with me." "I would like that very much and I was wondering if you would…" Johnny began to say and before he could finish Ash began to deeply kiss Johnny and nodded her head yes. Johnny was happy and carried Ash to her bedroom to begin a night of passionate love making.
