Demonknight1994 this is dedicated to you who so deeply inspired this chapter. This is the answer, in part to your question about the War arc.
The Offering this chapter is named after, is one that will do a lot for Mika and help him catch up.
I also am basing this off of Kisame and The Third with Enma!
Neji ached. Mika hit hard and fast, Neji's moves were all easy shifted away from Mika's body as he strained to attack him. Whenever Mika got in a hit, they were poignantly aimed, and perfectly targeted for pain and purpose. There was a crispness in Mika's moves that one only in the best of the best. Thos with tremendous experience or talent, or both. Neji saw it in himself, in all Hyuugas, in Lee and Gai, but never did he guess Mika would have it. The boy was a nobody, from no ninja background, it should have been impossible for him to fight so smoothly.
Hiashi, his uncle, watched them sparring and smirked, knowingly. A fact that infuriated Neji to no end, he would get his answers...
Deciding to up the ante, Neji moved with greater speed, focusing on hitting any targets, not just the main chakra points. Mika, with grace and skill, evaded his strikes, knocking them aside.
"You over rely on your bloodline." He said before diving under a strike and rising with an uppercut that had Neji seeing stars. He could not react as Mika twisted, kicking him hard across the training ground. Neji managed to land on his back, rolling back up just to have Mika behind him, kunai at his throat.
"My victory."
Neji sighed. "Fine... what changed, your movements are far more... put together than before, smoother?"
It was Hiashi that answered. "He is a member of ANBU." Neji gaped. "As is Hinata. I would recognize that combat style, that way of moving anywhere. There is a reason that ANBU is the Best of the Best. A month of training with them, it is like training with Might Gai, I am sure you are familiar with how Lee grew. How the Uchiha grew in one month, Mika... I read your assessment, all Jonin have access to it. You are easily Special jonin, I agree though that you ought to get more experience before you are set to become Jonin, in skill or rank."
Mika smiled. "I do try. ANBU is... not easy. I have never worked so hard." He turned to Neji. "You need to work on your diversity in movement. You are great, but the truth is you are predictable. Insanely so. Fighting Hinata, is just made me know how to disarm your entire fighting style."
Hiashi sighed. "Many of our clan has heard that over the years... How would you help Neji?"
"More strength and speed training, another taijutsu style to fall back on. A few aces up the hole, maybe add elemental manipulation into his style. Stuff like that. That being said I have to go, I have a spar with Raido in about twenty minutes."
Neji frowned. "May I watch?"
"Sure, can't see why not. Just follow me." And Mika hurried off with Neji following after. They made it to one of the Jonin sparring grounds, just to the left of the Hokage Monument. Raido, a man with a wheal scar and a soft expression, was there. On his back was a large black katana. "Nice to see you again, Raido."
The man bowed, smiling at Mika with familiarity. "Ready to lose?"
Mika laughed. "Sadly, yes. Oh and Neji wanted to watch. Neji this is Raido, one of the Hokage's guards." The two new ninja bowed to each other.
And lose Mika did, spectacularly over the course of about two long hours of sparring. The boy was good, excellent even, but against the raw skill, talent and experience of Raido all of Mika's ability meant nothing. Raido would outpace him, out speed him and disarm him over a dozen times. Mika learned and showed marked improvement, but that did not take away his losses.
Still, Mika smiled the entire time. When Neji was too curious, he asked. "Why the smile?"
"I like to fight, I love to learn. This is both. Fighting someone out of my league well it is satisfying in a weird way."
Neji hmmed. "I think I feel the same way fighting Lord Hiashi."
"I can imagine so."
There was a pause, and all of the skilled ninja turned to the ANBU that appeared by their training ground. "Lady Tsunade summons Mika to her office for an important mission. Neji Hyuuga as well."
Mika bowed to Raido." Thank you for the spar."
"Anytime I'm free, kid."
Mika and Neji hurried off to the Hokage's office. The moment they were inside, the woman gave them a serious look. " Mika... as spectacular as you are, your chakra levels limit you, right?" He nodded. "How would you feel about a solution?"
"How so?"
"Before The Uchiha defected, Team Seven went on a mission to the Land of Tea. Though the mission was successful, I consider it a loss." She sighed. " The Raijin was found and left there, supposedly broken by Naruto's Rasengan."
Mika gaped. "The Rajin, your Uncle's blade?"
"My Uncle fashioned that blade to magnify his water jutsu towards the end of his life. It is a precious jewel of our village... and one tool that will not be wasted. I want you and Neji to retrieve it. Then, I will repair it, or rather teach you to do. Then you can harness it." Mika's jaw scraped the floor. "You need the power boost, this will be your crutch until you develop more. I will not have that level of a weapon wasted. Sakura told me it's location this morning. You are to find it and retrieve it. Do not let it fall into enemy hands, that thing may not be the powerhouse of blades like Samehada is, but in the right hands... it is devastating due to it's versatility and potential. You remind me of my Uncle, so deeply it hurts. It is only fitting you wield his blade. Here is the map, take it and get that blade back."
"Yes, ma'am, and thank you for this honor."
She nodded, smiling. "You earned it. Now go... hurry before others find it!"
Chapter over, tell me what you think in the reviews.
I adored this chapter. Why does no one use that blade? So valuable. I love the Seven Swords of the Mist, so why not this?
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
