Short but it sets things up really, really well for Mika's development.
Mika bolted, rushing along the road to Tea with Neji at his back. He was all but buzzing with energy, with excitement. 'I get to wield my idol's sacred weapon, one of the greatest in the village's history! I cannot believe it, I am shaken to the core.'
Neji laughed. "You seem,... intense in a way I never saw from you, little that I know of you. Why is that?"
"How much do you know of me? My bloodline, limitations?"
Neji frowned. "I know that you are without a ninja bloodline, you have low chakra levels and are not bred for battle."
"Right on all points. This blade, that stores and changes chakra into pure lightning chakra, capable of piercing and slashing through quite a few things like a hot knife through butter, is key to incredible power for me. It will be key to changing my path, giving me the means to fight powerful ninja until I can develop my powers at a natural pace." The boy sighed. "This is going to be everything for me, especially with the changes and darkness arriving at our doorsteps. Now, let's hurry, so I can get my new toy back to the village. Team Seven were morons for leaving it behind."
Neji chuckled. "You aren't wrong. A tool like that, could make massive waves in our village."
It took about four hours to reach the Land of Tea, specifically where the Rajin was hiding in the water. The potent chakra that oozed from in, even in it's shattered state, was enough that Neji easily found it. They landed on the water, which thankfully was not electrified, and Mika dived in to get the amazing weapon. Absently, he looked at the seals that flared when he applied chakra, noticing the delicate nature and fluid grace of the Greatest Hokage ever.
Shivering, Mika pulled on the lingering chakra, not taking it in but taste it's flavor. 'What monster he was, a god among men. Such density, such power... to say he was anything less than amazing would be a bold faced lie.' Pulling back, he turned to Neji. "Might as well return, before we run into any opposition."
And in less than a second, they were gone, rushing back to the village, shocked that they did not run into anyone on the way to or from.
When they did return, Tsunade was eager to see them and the sword. "I am glad to see this, my Uncle's blade was technically a prototype but it was a key for his later victories. He was amazing, Yes my Grandfather was more powerful, but My Uncle's mind was key to this village's success and progression. I am certain that if he survived, our village would be ten times more successful. He did so much... this blade was part of that.
Mika, I trust you to show me the value of this blade... and use it to overcome your limits. Use this blade, which can do amazing things, to be greater than you ought to be at your age and level. With your intellect, with your drive, it can be the key to you reaching your peak." And then, for the next twenty minutes, she showed him how to rebuild and the beginning use of the sword. "The Sword has a scroll of usage, but I want you to figure it out on your own. Do not stagnate like so many others may have."
And so began the beginning of Mika's path towards greatness, started by his Kage's faith in his abilities.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
