After a long voyage, the Heroes and their young hunter returned to Toto'haha.
"Hey! We're back!" Ochette called out in triumph as she stood with the group as well as the Glacis, Tera and Acta as the Beastlings looked on in awe.
"Well done, Ochette. You've done well, my apprentice." Juvah spoke.
"It was hard but we managed to get them all." Blake said.
"And if you beast guys are hungry…dig in." Yang said as she dropped off a huge load of jerky before the Beastlings, said Beastlings happily digging in.
"This is all well and good…but now…we must prepare as best as we can." Juvah said as the Beastlings got to work arming themselves.
"In that case…" Ash K said as he went to make an exchange using the exchange box given to the trainers during the PLT. "Okay…these…are my all stars!" Ash K said as Pikachu stood by alongside Charizard, Sceptile, Infernape, Greninja and Lucario.
The Dimensional Heroes and Beastlings prepared for the upcoming battle as they prepared a blockade near the cliffs.
"Here we are surrounded by sheer rock walls. There is no place to run. If we can lure the enemy here, we will have the advantage." Juvah said.
"So…we'll come out of this unharmed, right?" Mineta asked.
"I don't know. The last Scarlet Moon was centuries ago. But our ancestors were kind enough to warn us." Juvah said. "Generation after generation, the Warden of the Isle has kept the faith. We are bound to protect the island from calamity. The Shadow."
"The Shadow?" Ochette asked.
"The Shadow is all devouring and swallows all light of which our world is woven of. And the gateway to its world is said to be somewhere on its island." Juvah said.
"Well…least we got a worthy opponent." Jexi said.
"Yeah. And it may not even come. I mean…it's broad daylight and…" Vector said as the sky turned a scarlet red as a red moon eclipsed the sun. "Uh…nevermind."
"And now starts the night of the Scarlet Moon." Jexi said as the jungle seemed to come alive with sound.
"Our enemy…approaches." Juvah warned as on the horizon came a number of beasts and insects made of pure darkness as they charged in.
"Whoa…freaky." Dan said as the heroes were quick to go on the attack.
"What are these things?! This is the first time I've seen anything like this!" Ochette said.
"It's been some time since I've faced such powerful foes." Juvah said, slaying one of the oncoming enemies.
"It seems no matter how many are slain, they just grow back their numbers from the darkness." Robin said.
"Then how are we supposed to beat them?" Sora asked.
"It's just like fighting an army. There has to be someone leading them. And I bet I know who. We need to go deeper into the wilds." Jexi said.
The heroes all nodded as they charged deeper into the wilds before facing some of the stronger shadow beasts.
"Hey! Tera!" Ochette called out as Tera stood tall alongside Charizard and Infernape.
"How dare you…how dare you disturb the peace of this island. Now you shall feel our rage!" Tera said as the three fire users ignited the shadows and obliterated them as the heroes pressed onward.
"He may be doing more harm than good but at least he's clearing the way." Eijiro said.
"Thanks, big guy!" Natsu called out.
"It was my pleasure." Tera said to the heroes.
As they progressed further inward, they came to a broken bridge.
"Dang it…the bad guy is probably on the other side too." Rainbow said.
"Worry not. I have come to help." A voice cried out as Glacis flew down and created a road of ice that led from the island they stood on to the other.
"Thanks, Glacis!" Ochette called out.
"I only did as a guardian should." Glacis replied.
The group then made it to a cliffside.
"No monsters. Could we have defeated them all?" Juvah asked.
"No…" Ochette said, her senses telling her better. "There is still danger and it's coming."
"I knew it. Okay, Dark Hunter, the game is…" Jexi said as they turned around, not to be met with any dark hunter but with a large vicious looking jackal, it emitted a dark aura as there were signs of abuse on its body.
"Wait….I know that species. It's a Lajackal…and a rather tormented one at that." Miles said.
"This monster…where have I seen it before?" Juvah pondered.
"Wait…it's….it's you." Ochette said.
"Wait, you know this thing?" Odd asked.
"Yeah…he was the one I didn't pick the day I became a hunter." Ochette said. "It ran off after I picked Mahina."
Jexi looked at its wounds. "I see….so the Scarlet Night…was their doing…that Dark Hunter…They made you hate humans…I feel sorry for you." he said as the beast went on the attack.
"Look out!" Juvah said as he and the heroes went on the attack only to be knocked back.
"We…bounced off it?!" Tera asked. "Impossible!"
"All our strength…useless…" Glacis lamented.
The monster then went at them again, but mainly focused on Ochette.
"Ochette!" Jexi called out as both he and Ochette were swatted right into the ocean.
"Jexi!" the heroes called out as he and Ochette sank into the ocean.
As Ochette and Jexi sank, their thoughts raced…
"This…again? Didn't think I'd be close to death twice." Jexi thought as they sank. "The others…I'm sure they can fight that thing but…I can't just go out when I can still do something."
"Now that is the right attitude." a voice called out in his mind. "So you are the one who truly commands the alliance."
"Let me guess…Draefendi, right? The Huntress?" Jexi asked.
"Good…that saves me an explanation. Would you like…a little boost? You and your friend?" the huntress asked.
"Yeah…give it right to us." Jexi said as they both glowed.
The ocean rippled as the others fought on the beaches. Before the beast could strike however, two figures jumped out of the ocean and landed on the beach. These figures being Ochette and Jexi.
"This island…it's not just my home…it's all our homes. I will defend Toto'haha!" Ochette declared.
"I may have only known these islanders a short while…but damn me if I'm going let you take their home away!" Jexi called out.
"Hrrr….hrr….Let the world…be plunged…into the Shadow!" the beast called as he raised his claws only for Ochette and Jexi to parry him.
"Get ready…the real fight starts now!" they all called out.
Beast of the Scarlet Moon
Lajackal of the Sorrowful Moon
The Lajackal howled as it went on to clash with the heroes as the heroes fought back against it. Its claws clashing with their weaponry before it grabbed at Jexi. But before it could deal a finishing blow, he suddenly vanished and appeared overhead with his arm turned into a bow and arrow.
"Ultimate Color…Arrow!" Jexi said unloading the arrow right into the beast's skull, not killing it but angering it even more as it became more evil looking as more eyes appeared on its face and its main body of fur turned purple, and red along its back.
The heroes had it surrounded as it tried to prey on them only to surrounded by a ring of flames. And frozen in place with ice. As attacks were sent its way, the beast gnashed at them with its jaws before leaping into the air as Ochette and Jexi followed, Jexi, creating a pair of claws.
"Ultimate Color…Wild Frenzy!" Jexi called out as he and Ochette tore into the creature a number of times before it fell to the ground, weak and helpless.
"You have done well…now…finish it." Juvah said.
"Do we really have to hunt the poor thing?" Ochette asked.
"No…least…not like this." Jexi said as he sat in front of it before offering some jerky alongside Ochette. The beast seemed touched by their generosity as it ate the jerky as its body faded.
"If you're ever reborn into this world, let's…get some real tasty food together." Ochette said as the night came to its end.
The next morning…
The heroes helped to repair the village as some made a makeshift grave for the poor beast.
"Here lies…Akala? That's the name you decided on?" Izuku asked.
"Yes." Ochette said. "I hope…he's at peace."
"We all do." Fluttershy said.
"From this day forth…I'm going to protect Toto'haha." Ochette said. "Now…we gotta head out."
"Yeah…time to fulfill our promise and meet back up with everyone at the camp." Jexi smiled. "We have so much to tell them. And I'm sure they have so much to tell us."
The heroes boarded the Sunny as they departed Toto'haha.
"Hmmm…" Alear pondered.
"Something wrong?" Marth asked.
"Just a thought. If the Dark Hunter was behind the attacks on the Creatures of Legend and the Scarlet Moon…where were they?" Alear pondered.
Inside of the Tombs of the Wardenbeasts, a large figure clung to the ceiling as it hissed and looked at an extinguished torch.
"Beast….fallen…Flame…put out. Only 2….remain. May the darkness…consume this world!" it howled.
