I know there haven't been a lot of choices recently but I promise there will be one soon, a very important one I might add. For this chapter though, some more plot advancement finally takes place!
Eddy watched the land pass him by as he stared out of the RV window with a look of complete and utter boredom on his face. He looked over at the others as if searching for something interesting to see. His brother was taking a nap with his girlfriend by his side, still nursing her wound. His dad was talking to Lenore, who had taken over driving. May was keeping track of how much food they all had left, sneaking a few doughnuts from a bag that Eddy saw Ed snatch at the last supermarket, he thought about saying something but he never liked those things anyway, the flavor just wasn't as good as fresh ones to him. Marie was trying her best to clean and maintain everyone's weapons but she wasn't a gun expert so it wasn't perfect. In fairness though, none of them were. Sarah and Jimmy were tending to the Red Gym Sock, following Double D's instructions while the smart Ed took notes. The largest of their trio was writing and scribbling in his notebook, no doubt making updates to his info on the zombies and other psychos they ran into. Maybe he was even writing down everything that happened to them all since this hell began. Knowing Ed it would either be the greatest story ever told, or an unreadable mess with no in-between.
"Hey, Sockhead, you said you saw one of those landmark things on the map, right? How much longer until we get there again?" Eddy asked.
"I saw a sign signaling our entry into the state of Nevada, Eddy. It should still be a few more hours until we reach Las Vegas."
"Great..." Eddy sighed, returning his gaze to the window. He had always seen Vegas on tv before, a bustling big city full of casinos, big shows, celebrities and other crazy people. Outside of Vegas though, pretty much nothing but desert. He always thought it was nothing but cartoons exaggerating things but to his displeasure, it wasn't completely incorrect. All he saw was a bunch of arid land with some wild grass and small towns and stations dotted around. He did see some other cities in the distance but they weren't on the route they were all taking.
"You bored?"
Eddy turned around and saw Lee, raising her hair with one hand to reveal one of her eyes while using her other hand to fan herself. Even with the A/C system the RV had it was still pretty hot, he did overhear his dad saying they were running out of coolant.
"Yup." Eddy replied, looking right into Lee's visible eye. He didn't really notice it before but when one could see her full face, she really did look almost exactly like her mom, in a good way though. "It's kinda funny..."
Lee raised an eyebrow as she sat next to him, waiting for him to continue.
"It's not really a secret that I like money and I've always wanted to go to Vegas. Hit the slots, make it big, the whole nine yards!" The shortest of the Eds slumped into his seat and seemed to stare off into nothing. "And I'm not saying I don't want to go anymore or that I'm worried about what could happen to us there. I'm still excited, it's just..."
"Is it that you feel it in your gut that maybe you shouldn't get your hopes too high?" Lee asked.
"Maybe?" Eddy answered. "I don't really know how to put it into words."
"Hey, we made it this far, I think that kinda shows we've all got each other's backs." Lee placed a hand on Eddy's shoulder and smiled at him. Normally he would have flipped out at the mere touch of a Kanker, but Eddy surprised even himself by staying calm and not minding the contact.
"Heads up!" Lenore called out. "Looks like we're here!"
Lee and Eddy looked out of the window and saw that they were indeed nearing Las Vegas as the large casinos and hotels were soon coming into view. There weren't many but they could see a few normal looking people walking around. The RV soon pulled up to a makeshift gate at the city limits, several people armed with assault rifles stood in front of the gate with one of them motioning for the RV to stop before walking over to the driver's side window.
"What's your business here?"
Lenore looked at the man standing at the window with a cautious, yet firm glare. The man wore a pair of sunglasses and had a S.W.A.T uniform that looked like it was haphazardly put on. The Kanker sisters, Ed and Eddy all went over to the front in order to get a better look at the man and the front of the gate where they could see that there were about two other people with the same S.W.A.T uniform while others looked to be dressed in random clothes that looked best for security or potential combat.
"One of our boys called you with our radio, we were told you had space for more survivors." Lenore answered.
The man didn't look entirely convinced as he lowered his glasses a bit, looking inside at those who were visible.
"U-Um, if I may?" Double D squeaked out, squeezing through everyone and approaching the driver's seat with a notepad. "I t-t-took the liberty of writing down the time and date in which we contacted you. Perhaps if you inform whoever is in charge of radio contact we-"
The man reached for the notepad and looked over it, skimming through a few of the pages before looking right at Edd. The fact that his sunglasses blocked his eyes intimidated the young genius.
"Give me a minute. I'll get in touch with the Comms team, you all stay put."
Silently, they all watched as the man entered a small shack in front of the gate and picked up a radio, his eyes still locked on them all.
"Do you think we can trust these guys?" Marie asked.
"I hope so." May replied, gulping in fear. "If they don't then they might start shooting."
"If they don't let us in then what do we do?" Jimmy added.
"Don't think like that. Just chill out and it'll be fine." Eddy's brother assured.
The gang waited for about ten minutes before the guard exited the shack and talking to his fellow guards. The more timid members of the group began to sigh with relief as they watched some of the guards lower their guns. Their tension turned to confusion though when they saw two guards join the first and head for the side door to the RV everyone usually used to enter.
"You're clear. We need you to open up though. We need to do a quick search of the vehicle, afterwards we've been asked to direct you to the guys in charge. They'll tell you where you're staying."
Lenore grumbled a bit before motioning for someone to unlock the door. Almost immediately, a man and woman entered the RV, the man looked around at everyone for a bit while the woman scowled while holding a shotgun.
"Will you relax!" The man asked his partner before addressing everyone. "Don't mind her, she does this every time someone we don't recognize comes here. This'll only take a second."
The man went around the RV, opening every cabinet and lifting every pillow, blanket and mattress from their position, fixing them as best as he could when he finished. Eddy's dad and Lenore opened the glove compartments when they were asked, still wary of the duo.
"Alright, you folks are all clear." The man said. The first guard, who Eddy had nicknamed 'Shades' in his head, had also entered and shut the door behind him. Once he heard the sound of the door close, Edd and Jimmy immediately noticed how cramped things became. Once his two partners had informed him of their status, Shades called for the gate to open.
"Alright, just drive on in and I'll direct you to our HQ." Shades explained.
The drive to wherever Shades and his crew were leading them all too didn't last all that long, and soon the group parked in front of a two-story building.
"You assholes really made us drive into the mouth of hell..." Terry cursed as he looked at the DMV that they were all directed to.
"Hahaha. Believe me, it looks bad, but our bosses picked this place because they knew it would keep people away." Shades explained. "You guys head on in, we'll wait out here."
As everyone entered the building, most of the gang looked relieved to feel the cool air of the A/C hit them. The only members of the group that didn't look happy were Lenore, and Eddy's family, who had an almost instinctual look of disdain for the office space that made up this base.
"You must be the incoming group the guards mentioned." A stern looking woman called out to them from behind a desk. "You'll find the bosses upstairs and in the first office on the left."
As everyone began to ascend the staircase, Terry groaned.
"Ugh, no wonder those guys said they set their base up here. Even their secretaries still ooze that 'DMV energy'." The man said, the three other adults nodding in agreement. The younger members of the group shared looks with each other in confusion but just didn't understand.
Once they found the office door, a growing sense of tension rose within the group as Terry turned the knob.
The first thing that everyone saw were a small group of four people consisting of two men and two women. One woman was a brunette wearing a t-shirt and jeans who was writing on a clipboard in front of a set of charts that were pegged onto a bulletin board with a rather casual expression, in a way she kind of reminded the Kankers sisters of their mom. This woman's appearance was almost a complete inverse of the second woman, who was a strict looking blonde wearing a professional looking suit and dress skirt who was reading through a stack of papers. Her furrowed brow immediately gave off the impression that one look from her could cause your blood to turn to ice, either that or she had a supreme sense of entitlement, Eddy wasn't sure which was worse. The first man wore a tan t-shirt and camo pants, just like the brown haired woman he appeared to be reading something while softly talking aloud about workout regimens, if it wasn't for the fact that the Kankers were interested in the Eds, they probably would have thought he was cute, that didn't stop Sarah though, however she kept quiet. The second man wore a light blue polo shirt and tan slacks, he was putting away a folder in a cabinet and was the first to notice the group.
"Ah, you must be the new arrivals." The man greeted, drawing in the eyes of his associates. "Let me start by introducing everyone to you. My name is Geoff Berner, I used to be an accountant here in Vegas before the disaster. Now I'm in charge of keeping track of all the supplies within the remains of this city. These fine people here help me keep everything running smoothly."
The man in army fatigues stepped forward and waved to the group.
"Afternoon, the name's Keith Giffen, former Corporal for the U.S. military." He began, Jimmy and Sarah stepped back a bit while Mr. McGee slowly reached for his pocket. Noticing these reactions, Keith raised his arms in defense. "At ease, I said former Corporal. I don't agree with how the military is currently handling things so I had to go AWOL during an attack shortly after shit hit the fan. I'm in charge of training security in these parts, and you can bet your ass I keep these guys in peak physical form."
The gang relaxed just a bit while the professional looking woman let out a groan at Keith before turning to the survivors.
"Ever the charmer, aren't you." She began, her voice sounding just as cold as her demeanor. "Stacy Warnick, at your service. I handle the importing and exporting of supplies to other strongholds within the country."
The last of the four rolled her eyes at Stacy's comment as she gave everyone a friendly smile.
"Don't mind her, she's practically married to her job and gets like that when she's interrupted. I'm Marlowe, I'm in charge of the stronghold's farming and food distribution. Most of the food here is locally grown, even though it's a bit tricky because we're in a desert."
"Uh, hi." Eddy spoke up first, surprising even himself. He would have figured his dad or brother or even one of the Kankers would have made the first move. "I'm Eddy, that's my dad and brother, his girlfriend, my best friends Ed and Double D, Ed's little sister Sarah, her best friend Jimmy and the Kanker family of Lee, Marie, May, and their mom, Lenore."
"Double D?" Stacy asked, raising an eyebrow.
"M-My name is actually Eddward, Ms. Warnick." Double D shivered. The woman simply hummed as she nodded her head.
"So how did you all get here?" Marlowe asked.
"W-Well, we were all living our once normal lives in Canada." Double D began. "The outbreak began rather suddenly, as you're all well aware, and quickly spiraled into a mess that caused the deaths of many of our friends, family members, and neighbors. We were all once part of a much larger group that escaped into the United States about a week after the disaster started and eventually found shelter in a compound in the state of Montana. Our peace did not last long though, as a group of Marauders colluding with a man named Armando, a vile individual who we once traveled with and thought we could trust, attacked the compound and forced us to flee."
"I would've liked to forget about him." Eddy hissed at the mention of Armando's name but was quickly silenced with a swift elbow to the ribs by Lee.
"This would end up with us losing more of our friends. Shortly after we learned of two different shelters in the U.S.. One of which is further east, and the other is this location. On the way we were attacked by a military helicopter but were able to evade it." Edd finished.
"I see you've all been through a lot." Geoff began as he and his associates absorbed all the information. "The army's certainly another issue, but they've rarely ever come near us. I don't honestly have any idea why, and I'd rather not accuse anyone that stays here of being a mole. That's not likely anyway."
Ed and Sarah looked understandably wary around Keith but what that man said next somewhat lowered their suspicions.
"They likely avoid this area because trying anything with the large number of civilians here would likely cause an uprising. Or at the very least an increase in aggression against them from survivors and other civilian strongholds. The army may be better equipped, but I'd say out of all the major 'factions' in this world right now, they're probably with the Marauders on having the lowest numbers. If word got around that they attacked innocent people without provocation, it won't end well for anyone."
"Very well put." Geoff continued before addressing the group. "Well, now that introductions are settled... We can get straight to business. First I should at least tell you about this place. Now, everyone once knew Vegas as this bustling city known for casinos, celebrities, and poor decisions. But once the zombies, military, and that group of psychopaths calling themselves Marauders began to attack, this place quickly went to hell. People from all over the country, if not the world, who were here at the time, managed to fight them off long enough for us to essentially take over a section of the town big enough to sustain us all. Even though it's only been about a month and a half we've managed to expand some of our territory to include the hotels and a stadium. Because of this we have more than enough room to have you here and we've managed to contact some people as far away as New York to send us some supplies to start farming here, so long as we send some supplies back to them. Thanks to this system we've held out without much issue, though that's not to say problems don't come up from time to time. Zombies and Marauders show up and we're forced to fight them off, sometimes we lose good people because of this. What we're asking of you is to help us out by tending to the farms and acting as guards."
"Seems fair." Lenore shrugged. "We've been through something like this once already." The rest of the gang nodded or verbally agreed, prompting a smile from the suited man.
"Great. The guards that brought you here should be able to bring you to one of the hotels. You can stay here as long as you need to. We're also expecting to get in touch with people offshore in places like Puerto Rico and other islands soon so we'll update everyone once we do."
"So that's it?" Terry asked. "No other requests, no threats of compliance or anything like that?"
"No, no!" Geoff assured. "Just help us keep things running smoothly and things'll be fine."
"Alright." The older brother shrugged as he and the others turned to leave, Rachel and the rest of the girls raised an eyebrow at Double D keeping quiet about his flower when Eddy spoke one last time.
"Wait! You said that you guys expanded to get control of hotels. Did... did you happen to take over any casinos too?"
"Eddy!" Edd snapped. Keith began to roar with laughter while Stacy shook her head.
"Ah, well, you're certainly not the first person to ask that question. But yes, we actually have managed to get control of a casino. I'm afraid winning anything there is practically useless though since the U.S. dollar is pretty much dead. Instead we've taken to using bottle caps as a substitute. We don't use them for any necessities either, only higher quality guns, ammo, stuff you might like and so on. You can wager it in the casino as well but most people just go there for fun on their downtime."
"Now you're talkin'!" Eddy rubbed his hands with glee. Before he could continue though, Lee grabbed him by the back of his shirt collar and began to walk away, much to Geoff and Keith's amusement.
"Haha, Poker Night's on Thursday's, Eddy!"
The air seemed much less heavy as everyone exited the building, thankful that everything seemed to go smoothly. Shades was sitting on the curb by the RV and perked up when he heard the door open.
"Hey, I'm guessing it went well." He said. "Come on, I'll show you guys to your new digs."
The ride to the hotels was quiet, but much more relaxed, especially since the shotgun wielding woman looked more at ease. After about five more minutes of driving, the RV finally parked in front of a large, rather luxurious looking hotel.
"Alright, this is it." Shades exclaimed. "Pretty much everyone who lives here, whether they actually lived in this place or not, stays in this hotel. We've got a good number of guys who can cook so food's always ready by five-thirty, plus most of the hotels still have the food and ingredients from before the infected started running around so there's still some of that "high-society" food left over. Don't expect there to be any room service or maids though, this ain't a vacation and nobody's gonna wipe your ass for ya'. Plus, starting tomorrow you folks are gonna start helping us keep watch and keep things moving. Still, you guys went a long way to get here so take it easy and get settled in, dinner'll be ready soon,."
"Thanks, I guess we'll see you later then." Mr. McGee nodded.
"Guess we'll be seeing more of them soon." Rachel sighed.
"Yeah, but for now we gotta go see this hotel!" Marie chirped, her visible eye gleaming at the sight of the sight of the lobby behind the glass doors.
"I've never been to a hotel before!" May added. Lee flicked her sisters in the ears and scowled at them.
"Remember what that sunglasses guy said, girls! This ain't no vacation! We're gonna have to put in some hard work if we wanna stay here. They'll probably kick us out if we don't."
"I thought I heard familiar voices but... It can't be!" A man said from behind the group. As the group looked to see the source of the voice the collective jaws of the majority of the group dropped when they saw...
"PRINCIPAL ANTONUCCI!"
Sarah and Jimmy rushed to hug the familiar face, the man patted their shoulders with a big grin on his face before Ed practically scooped him up into a bear hug.
"Ed! Don't kill the guy!" Eddy called out, pulling at the larger boy's arms.
"Oh, sorry!"
"What are you doing here Mr. Antonucci?" Edd asked.
"Well that's quite a long story." The man sighed. "Getting here certainly wasn't easy for us, but somehow we managed to pull through."
"Wait, 'us'?" Marie asked.
"Yes! Some of the other faculty members are actually here with me. We didn't even travel together as a group, we all just sort of converged here. Though I'm glad to know that other members of the school staff and some of the students are safe." The man explained. "I can tell you the full story later on at dinner, that way you'll be able to see the other teachers that are here and you all can give me your accounts of what happened to you."
"Sounds like a plan." Terry chuckled.
"Oh, I'm most definitely looking forward to your stories Mr. McGee!" Antonucci replied, giving the man a sly smirk before laughing and walking away. "I'll see you all at dinner!"
"You know him?" Rachel asked.
"Yup, he was my school principal back when I was in junior. That was about twelve years ago, can't believe he's actually been sent to the high school. I was sent to his office more times than I can count!"
"And your mother, God rest her soul, basically had a heart attack every time she got a call telling us you were in his office again." His dad added, shaking his head. Terry tried to look away from Rachel as she pursed her lips and gave him an aside glance.
"SO! How 'bout we head inside!" Sarah and Jimmy couldn't help but giggle to themselves as Terry tried to hurry the Eds inside. Their laughs quickly died down as they looked at the hotel lobby though. Maroon carpeting lined the floors and the overhead lights were dim enough to give the area a sort of suave and sophisticated energy. If it wasn't for the people behind the front desk being dressed so casually, one would assume that everyone walking around was just on vacation. As the gang approached the front desk looking a bit lost, they noticed one man behind the counter wearing what looked like a bellhop uniform talking to a woman next to him.
"Y'know you don't actually need the uniform, right? You didn't even work here before the disaster." The woman asked.
"Yeah, but I help keep things lookin' nice and this one fits! Besides I needed new clothes anyway!" The man answered before noticing the group. "Howdy, everything going alright? ... Hmm, don't think I've seen you folks around before, you new?"
"Hello!" Ed waved cheerfully.
"Uh, yeah." Eddy piped up. "We just got into town and we were told we could stay here.
"You definitely can. There's more space here than we know what to do with." The woman replied. "You're a big group, too, so you'll be needing multiple rooms. Looks like... four or five depending on how you pick who's sleeping with who."
"I'll stick with my girls." Lenore said. "Gotta keep them from tearing each other's eyes out."
Sarah gasped in excitement as she pulled Jimmy away from the others, the boy looking confused at his best friend's wide grin.
"Jimmy, do you know what this means?"
"What?"
"Think about it! If the Kankers' mom is with them and Eddy's brother has a room with his girlfriend, then that means that Eddy's dad is staying with my stupid brother and his friends!"
"Well, I guess? Where are you going with this?"
"Don't you see Jimmy? We get to have a room all to ourselves in a fancy hotel!" Jimmy's eyes widened in awe as he began sporting the same smile as Sarah did.
"Yeah, nice try, you two!"
The two kids were silenced by the voice of Mr. McGee, who gave the two a knowing smirk.
"Those boys might be a handful, but they know when to control themselves, especially with Edd around. I'll be looking after you two." The man explained, holding up a room key. "Now come on, we're heading up to the eleventh floor."
The two tweens sulked their way over to the elevators with the rest of the group, the elevator ride upwards was silent and uneventful since everyone was either eager to see their rooms after their long journey or just found it cool that they were in a hotel. As they all stepped off the elevator, the adults were silently thankful that the two "employees" gave them all rooms that were next to and across from each other.
"Alright, dinner's supposed to start in about an hour so I guess we can all relax and get settled until then." Mr. McGee said, opening one of the doors. Sarah and Jimmy laughed to themselves before looking at the room and out the window to the outside in excitement.
"I just can't wait to sleep in a bed again!" Eddy beamed as the Eds all entered their room. The others soon entered their respective rooms and began to bask in the comfort of the hotel. With a content sigh, Marie plopped herself down onto one of the two beds in the room she shared with her family and watched as May explored the room and Lee went to the bathroom. Lenore simply sat on a chair near the window and raised her feet up onto the table in front of it. The firm look on her mother's face distressing the blue haired girl.
"Hey, Mom, you alright?"
"I'm good. Just... trying to take this all in, I guess."
"What do you mean?" Lee asked as she finished her business, May also looked over at her mother in intrigue.
"Haven't been to a fancy place like this in years. Before you girls were born, in fact. I've been to a ton of motels back when I was dating Butch, Lee's dad. We practically lived in a few for a while we were on our way up north to Canada. 'Course things between the two of us didn't last. I lived in an apartment after the breakup..."
"And that's when you had me." Lee chimed in.
"Mhmm. I met Bubba a while after that, which was it's own can of worms, and then had Marie. Wasn't until I Rod that I actually went to one. We took a trip to Ontario for our honeymoon, wasn't the fanciest honeymoon but he was a sailor, and they didn't make that much money. Anyway, while we were away, you girls stayed with his mom. She's the one who gave us the ship-in-a-bottle, as you know."
"Good times..." Marie sighed.
"Anyway, what I'm getting at is that being here kinda reminds me of back then." Ms. Kanker sighed before getting up and ruffling May's hair, a bittersweet smile on her face. "Your Dad was a great guy."
The sisters all got up and shared a group hug with their mother.
"Oh yeah! Now this is what I can get used to! Penthouses, casinos, this is the dream!" Eddy chirped. Just like May had been doing, Ed was exploring the room and almost immediately making a mess of things. Thankfully Double D was there to at least try to fix things. Eddy, on the other hand, practically leaped onto the bed and laid there for a total of five seconds before rushing to the window and looking out towards the city.
"I beg your pardon?" Double D asked in disgust. "Eddy, need I remind you we're here because of an apocalyptic scenario, most of our family members are dead or missing and all you can think about is leisure and luxury?!"
"Hey, hey, hey! I didn't forget about all that! Like I'd ever forget about home, or the others... or my mom... Look, I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being selfish." Eddy began, sitting back down onto one of the beds, his newfound energy fading as he looked down at the floor. "But having something like this to be excited about, I guess it takes my mind off of all the stuff that's been happening. But no matter how much I try not to think about it, I just can't get the thought of my mom out of my head. I still think about her, Rolf, even Kevin and the others."
"I... I'm sorry, Eddy. I guess I was worried the old you was coming back out."
A knock at the door caught the attention of the three boys. Being the closest to the door, and wanting to get some distance away form this tension, Ed hurried to open it and was met with the sight of Rachel and Terry.
"Hey big guy." Rachel greeted. "Do you mind if we come in for a second, it's important."
Ed looked at the duo for a moment before giving them both a big goofy grin. "Okey-dokey, Artichokey!"
"Uh, hey Bro, what's up?"
Terry glowered at Double D, who began to shiver and shrink back in terror at the sight of the grown man.
"Ray says she wanted to come see ya', you makin' moves on my girl?"
"Hey, ease up on the poor kid, you're scaring him!" Terry laughed as he pat Edd on his back. Rachel sighed as she gently pulled the terrified boy away from her boyfriend.
"I'm just messin' with you! You're a smart kid, we all know that you know better than to flirt with my girlfriend. Besides, that blue-haired girl's crazy for you."
"Sorry about that, he can get a little overzealous sometimes."
"Don't I know that..." Eddy grumbled quietly.
"Anyway, I came because I wanted to talk about something from earlier." Rachel began. "Back when we were talking to the guys that run this place you didn't bring up that flower you've been keeping around. If it's supposed to be what might save us all then shouldn't they have a right to know about it?"
Edd sighed and looked over at the Ruby Red Gym Sock, which he had placed on a shelf close to the window.
"I... can't. At least not right now." He answered. "Even though they were kind enough to allow us to stay, we did only just arrive. We know next to nothing about these people or anyone else that's here aside from Principal Antonucci and potentially some of the other members of the school faculty that may be here. Simply put; the fact that we don't know any of them means we can't immediately trust them, no matter how much I want to. If I were to tell them about this plant then who knows what their intentions might be with it. They might attack us for it or even destroy it in order to maintain their control over this sanctuary. We really cannot be sure right now."
"So what are you gonna do?" Terry asked. "No offense, but with the days you've been studying that thing, you haven't found much."
"I know... I'm also aware that if I wait too long to tell them, should I choose to do so, it may betray their trust."
The five of them were silent, completely understanding Double D's position. Even Ed, for all his naivete and impulsiveness, knew where his friend was coming from.
"What about Principal Antonucci?" The slow-witted boy chimed in.
"What about him?" Eddy responded. Edd's eyes perked up at the mention of the school figure.
"Well my mom and dad always said that if I need help, always ask the teacher!" Ed grinned, much to Eddy's frustration.
"That's stupid!"
"Hold on. I think Ed may be onto something! As cliche as it may sound, talking to Principal Antonucci may just be what we need. Think about it, all the times in which we were sent to his office for scolding or punishments ended with him providing us with advice or a wise anecdote. Surely he might be able to provide us with some input as to how we can tackle this dilemma."
"Alright." Eddy shrugged with a sigh. "If you this'll help."
"Then it's settled! I will disclose the existence of the Ruby Red Gym Sock with him at dinner!"
"And here I thought I was done listening to his lectures after junior high." Terry sighed, rolling his eyes.
And that is scene! I know there wasn't a lot of action this chapter but consider this a cooldown for what's to come because it's going to be big. We're quickly coming up to the end of a major arc in this story as well, so look forward to that.
I do also appreciate any and all feedback for the story itself, I know pacing isn't perfect and the amount of characters can make this a bit tough to follow but I hope overall the story itself has been enjoyable to read. I'll try to apply feedback into this story as best as I can. For now, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter!
